Work Text:

Hector lays motionless in Capo’s bed. Cappy is cooking what he assumes to be some “Hamburgy Handy”, an Inspekta branded, bootleg hamburger helper. The thought of burgers made him sick again. For the last few days, since Capo told him, the thought alone made him nauseous. When he would close his eyes, she couldn’t help but imagine it. Her Cappy, carving through his skin, digging the knife into his flesh. Pushing it through a meat grinder, blood gushing onto the floor. Seasoning it and massaging the meat and cooking it in loads of butter while in hellish agony. Watching Inspekta eat him alive. Hector once again, made himself sick. He ate pieces of the man he loves more anything. He continued to la there, paralyzed by his own mind. He stared blankly at the moon feeling as if Mitternacht was watching him back from the heavens.

Capo enters his room holding two bowls of hot, cheesy Hamburgy Handy. Maybe not the best idea for Hector’s mental state, eating his own branded food and all, but best for ingredient wise. It wasn’t like Capo has an extensive amount of this stuff though. Hector’s back was turned to the door; he didn’t see Capo come in and was startled by him leaning against her back.

“I made us somefin’ ta eat.” Capo yawned out while placing a bowl in his lap and rubbing one of his hands on Hectors stomach. The sudden touch startles her a bit, Capo noticed began to move slower. She felt so soft. And a little sweaty. Her fur was sticking to his hand’s fur with every stroke.

Hector had a tendency of driving Capochin insane. Although, she never knew it. She’d never know how her accent was almost melodic to him, floating and swirling in his head constantly, always loud but quieter than that ringing in his ears. How his glasses were bright red, that crimson red was always, somehow brighter than the sun to him. That blue hair that was starting to grey. That wrinkle under his eyes. Those thick, halfway bitten-off claws. Capo noticed all of it and it drove him nuts. At times, it would be sickingly sweet and annoying, but in moments like these, it felt like a foggy day. It feels like a summer day without the sun. The sun is there, it’s just not the same because it’s not shining like it should. Capo wanted him to shine all over him. He wanted her attention. Her affection. Him to feel his own beautiful rays but without the sunburns. Or being cooked by them.

Hector chatches a chill as she zones back in, focusing on the feeling of being caressed. That hand, the same hand that had threatened to rip him apart a few days ago, being so gentle. It wasn’t like he was afraid of Capo, but the reason she wasn’t was because she deserves it. And she knows it, now that she knows what she did. Every second felt as if it was an hour. Every stroke made her want to crawl back inside her mind more and more.

Capochin notices Hector’s lack in activity and moves his hand off of him. “Hekta, hon, ya’ve gotta eat. ‘M worried” Hector lets out an empty chuckle, “Look at me, we both know dat ain’t true” Hector turns to face Capochin and shuffles himself closer to him. Hector’s face was smushed against the pillow, staring at Capochin through her comically thick lenses. Capochin grabs the bowls from the nightstand and puts them between them. She pushes one of her half eaten “nails” into the the bowl. The food is cold at this point, causing another sigh to escape her lips. Capo stares at him intently, struggling to read his face. “’M sawry fer hurtin’ yew.” “Not now Hekta.” He grumbles out, his face dropping in an instant. “Not hungry.” she stammered as she pushed the bowl back towards Capochin. Capo grunts a bit as he turns himself around to put the full bowls back onto the nightstand and laying back in front of Hector. He stares into the almost beady eyes behind the lenses. The expression on Hectors face was one he couldn’t understand. The softened eyes but that tinge on her lips. That furrow in her brow. Hector was observing him back. The way her eyes were tracing his features, that slight lean in. Capo gently presses his hand against his cheek and pulls him into a kiss. A kiss that felt like it was still longing for his touch even when it was there. As they pulled apart, there was heat in the air and a tightness in Capochin’s throat. “’M sawry, I should go-” Capo moves to get up only to be pulled back down by Hector with an unexpected strength. “Cappy, I need yew to stay” Capochin scoffed at the comment, not completely aimed at Hector but resentment was still there. “It wasn’t ok fer me to break yew down. It wasn’t ok fer me to have my head so far up my own coat where I couldn’t see what yew where doin to yewrself to please me. That yew where puttin’ yewrself into da burgies but I’d neva want tew eat yew because I love yew so much and and-” Hector bursts into tears, pushing his face into the pillow as hard as he can. Struggling, he continues to talk to Capo, but he can’t understand a thing; Her words, muffled through her tears, her wails and his pillow.

Capochin lays back down next to Hector. He notices how Hector looks...smaller? His tail was curled like a pig, tight and close to him, his shoulders basically folded into him as his claws dug into the pillow. Capochin’s heart clenched itself at the sight. None of that confidence from the past stuck with him, just shallowness and neediness. He understood that. He understood her. His eyes began to tear up as he throws himself onto Hector with a tight hug. “Sawry. ‘M so sawry-” His voice wavers a bit “We’ll get through this togetha, I mean it” Hector peeks out from the pillow, glasses foggy and pressed into his face, fur all soggy. “Yew mean it?” “As much as ya do.”
