It burnt.
Her first instinct was to swim up for air, and she could have if she wasn’t so tired.
It was a bad way to go, not something who wanted to die with their own terms would choose.
But this was what he must have felt before…
Would her body hit the shores? Would it wash up all the way to the Lumiére just like he did, a symbol of untimely death? Would people know that in the end she was at peace?
Last thing she saw before her vision went dark was the Monolith’s image through the water.
