Chapter Text
Lizzie wasn't in the best situation. Her long term partner and roommate, Cleo, had broken up with her, leaving her in search of a roommate in order to get the rent on time and not be evicted. As far as her friends knew, she was looking for a roommate to make money easier after Cleo broke up with her, and not a situation where becoming homeless is a real possibility. But she wasn't one to bother others, she would figure this out herself.
She clocked into her shift at Bamboozlers Diner and put on a less genuine smile then usual. A few hours in, she came to wait a guy in a light green blue (?) Shirt, glasses, and unkempt dirty blonde hair.
"Welcome to Bamboozlers Diner! What can I get you started on?"
"Hmm, uh, what's the cheapest thing you guys have?"
Lizzie thought for a moment. "I think it would probably be the water," She decided.
"I see. Now what would you say is the cheapest food you guys serve?"
"...I think that would be the kids fruit cup."
"Well, I guess I'm getting that."
"Money's bad, huh?"
"I literally just got a job and am doing everything I can to move out of my sister's couch."
Lizzie could practically feel the heat on the top of her head radiating from the metaphorical light bulb that just lit.
"Really? I actually really need a roommate right now..."
"Wait, really? What time does your shift end? I could meet you back over here and we can talk this through more."
"Sounds great! Meet me at the front at five."
