Chapter Text
"Ah- Taph! Allow me a word exchange with you for a few moments, nothing serious, friend." Dusekkar spoke up as he approached Taph, the latter tilted his head to the side in confusion and interest before nodding. Dusekkar coughed in his fist, preparing to speak as he floated in front of the fellow survivor. "So, dea- Friend. Friend, I am aware of your inability to properly communicate with our fellow teammates, which deteriorates our efficiency overall." Dusekkar says with a tone that speaks of it being matter-of-factly.
Taph, although a bit weary, nods nonetheless. Dusekkar coughs into his fist again before continuing. "And I've been thinking of it, perhaps I could teach you sign language, I am aware you know some of the basics of it, but I do believe that some more specific request require a higher level of knowledge on the language. And although I am aware that the other are not fully familiar with sign language itself, I could help translate, and either way, they'll get used to it with the passage of time. And really! a better communication ensures a higher chance of survival against the killer, and that way you could make a better strategy against them! I'm not saying that your strategies are bad... just a bit- weird- for a lack of a better way to word it. Just an offer, really!" Dusekkar finishes, even though the more he spoke the more he got tangled up in his words.
Taph, looking a bit too still, just stared at Dusekkar without motioning any concrete answer. Dusekkar was getting a bit concerned, he approached Taph a bit closer, confusion clear in his posture, his hand reaching out to touch Taph's shoulder before Taph suddenly nodded very enthusiastically, causing Dusekkar to flinch lightly at the sudden movement. "Ah- Alright then!" He added on, a warm feeling blooming deep within his soul at the prospect of helping Taph. Fondness, could it be? Perhaps spending a long time in this forsaken place has caused him to grow a bit fond of the fellow survivors.
Even though he knows it's no good, whatever entity or power that keeps them in this place could take advantage of their fondness or familiarity for each other and use it as leverage against them, to control them. A sour feeling seems to fade in next to the warmth in his soul, causing him to frown as he thinks of the future and what is to come. He's the most powerful out of the entire group of survivors, yet he ended up here as well, they've ought to prepare for the inevitable, they can't just wait for it to reach them, not when attacking first would be a wiser course of action. Yet they don't know what they're going against.
He's snapped out of his train of thought as Taph waves his hand in front of his face, a tilt to his head to signal his confusion, and his other hand fidgeting with his cloak that usually meant worry or nervousness. His face softens lightly. "Apologies, I was just... thinking about tomorrow, yes, I worry for the morning rounds, most of our fellow teammates are not morning people." Dusekkar lied, not wanting to voice his thoughts just yet, he shook his head before he could start to spiral again, and placed his hand on Taph's shoulder and guided him towards his room. "Let us not delay ourselves anymore, who knows how much time we have left." He sighed out a deep breath as him and Taph walked along.
