Miscellaneous Cardbot Mishmash

Summary:

A collection of prompt-based double drabbles for each day in May.

Notes:

This will be an attempt to write a double drabble (exactly 200 words) every day in May, to practice consistency. They are inspired by prompts I've seen on Tumblr, and the chapter titles will feature the prompt itself as well as the protagonist(s) of each chapter. Let's see how long I can keep it up!

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: Cat (Dexter, and a cat)

Chapter Text

Cat. There was a cat sitting on the roof of Edo's shop. There was a cat sitting on the roof of Edo's shop and not in Dexter's lap, a fact he was determined to change rightaway.

The mech made himself comfortable on the dusty ground and he did it gently so as to not frighten the feline that was so much smaller than him, and cute and fluffy and truly, very perfect.

Dexter looked around to find how the cat could have gotten there and upon spotting a nearby forklift, he figured that it must have climed the machine all the way to the top. The roof was rather high, so the cat's fluffed up fur must have been a sign of its anxiousness to get down.

"Aren't you a brave one," Dexter marveled. He held out his servo and watched the cat eye it warily. But after a few seconds, its ears darted forwards and it sniffed at his metal palms. It approached him and he locked his joints, until it sat down right in his palm.

His optics smiled down at his new friend. "Good kitty! Let's get you some food. You must be hungry, huh, little one?"
