It all started with a thump.
Sonic had been reading one of his comics up in his room when he heard it.
Being the ever-curious hedgie that he was, he rushed down the stairs of the attic into the living room.
Thump. There it was again! What was that?
He zipped into the living room and…
… oh. Oh!
There on the couch was Tails. The fox kit was chasing his twin namesakes in circles, growling and nipping at them.
Sonic blinked before he snorted.
Should he laugh? Because this was really freaking funny.
Reaching into his quills, Sonic carefully pulled out his phone, making sure Tails hadn’t noticed him, before hitting the record button.
Tails continued to chase his appendages in circles while Sonic recorded it on his phone. The hedgehog himself had to bite his lip to keep himself from laughing aloud and ruining the clip.
“Gotcha!” Tails exclaimed, finally catching his namesakes, smiling widely as he hugged them to himself like a pillow.
“Nice catch, bro.” Sonic couldn’t help but remark.
Tails shrieked, just noticing his brother there, his cheeks flushing bright red. “W-When did you get here?!” He then noticed the phone in his hands. “Were you… recording me??”
Sonic snickered, tossing up his phone and catching it in his hand. “I don’t know why you deny it, your so adorable little buddy!”
Tails immediately pounced on Sonic, tackling his brother to the ground. “Give it!”
Sonic laughed, holding his phone out of reach as Tails scrambled over his body to get it.
The hedgehog and the fox playfully wrestled on the ground before they froze as they heard the door click open.
“Boys! We’re home!” Came Maddie’s voice from the front door.
Sonic and Tails slowly glanced at each other. The silence between them was absolute.
The two then began scrambling over each other, with Sonic shoving Tails off of him and making a mad dash to the door.
“Hey!” Tails yelled, flying after his brother.
The two raced through the house, with Sonic reaching Maddie in the kitchen.
“Mom! Dad!” Sonic exclaimed, skidding to a stop.
Tom and Maddie glanced at their middle child right while they were in the middle of unloading some groceries.
“You won’t believe what I got—!”
“ Give me that phone!!”
Sonic was suddenly tackled to the ground by a certain orange-yellowish fox.
Tom and Maddie could only watch as their two youngest wrestled on the floor, fur and quills flying everywhere.
“Sonic caught Tails on camera again?” Tom glanced at his wife with a knowing smile.
“Yep.” Maddie smiled back amusedly “So, who’s turn is it to separate them?”
“I’m pretty it’s Knuckles’ turn, but he’s hanging out with Wade again soooo… ?” He subtly glanced at his wife.
Maddie rolled her eyes, playfully swatting at her husband. “You are so lazy!”
She then walked over and picked up her two boys by their scruffs. “Alright, boys, that’s enough.”
“ He started it!” Sonic and Tails both yelled, pointing at each other.
Tom shook his head with a smile. His family was pretty wild, but he wouldn’t have it any other way.
