My universe

Summary:

Endo is already tired of Takiishi's treatment of him, but Endo has already met a person who is more important than the god, Sakura is his universe.

Work Text:

Endo Yamato used to consider Takiishi his god. But he was tired. He couldn’t stand how Takiishi was always focused on Umemiya, when Endo was the one who was always there for him—but Takiishi didn’t see it… didn’t care, didn’t see him.

He would leave Takiishi; he cared so much, but he was done begging. Just one last fight with the Fuurin guys, and he’d walk away after that.

He felt every blow. Damn it, they lost, but Takiishi looked happier smiling. He became friends with Umemiya—it was a cruel joke.

Endo Yamato… for the first time, heard his name from Takiishi’s mouth.

But even then, it was too late; he didn’t care anymore. Endo replied, but angrily—Takiishi only said it because Umemiya convinced him to.

Endo clicked his tongue...

As he turned around, he saw Sakura Haruka, the one he had almost brought to their side—if they had won, for real.

That boy with two-toned hair had captivated Endo.

He considered making Sakura his new god. But no...

"My universe..." he muttered as he carried Takiishi out of the Fuurin territory.

"Huh? Endo, what did you say?" Takiishi asked, confused.

"It's nothing..."

---

"Umemiya said that to make friends and comrades, I should treat them as equals. I think I should apologize to you for how I treated you," said Takiishi, his voice as emotionless as ever.

"Think? Don’t worry about what I did," Endo replied grumpily.

"You’re right, no one asked you to. Still, I’m sorry."

"Umemiya told you that so you’d reflect... Do whatever you want."

---

He left the place... He wouldn’t throw Takiishi out on the streets. But he couldn’t treat him indifferently either; they had been living together for years.

Endo had taken care of Takiishi. Bought him things. He knew it was one-sided love, but he didn’t care; all that mattered was that Takiishi was okay, that he was with him. That was enough to be happy. But no, Takiishi never saw him. He only acknowledged him thanks to Umemiya.

"Hey, what are you doing here at Fuurin’s grounds?" interrupted a voice—Sakura, the two-toned-haired boy.

"Haruka, it’s been a while..." Endo greeted, pouncing on the younger boy.

"H-Hey, get off me," Sakura tried to push him away, his ears red. "Who said you could call me by my first name?"

"Fine, I’ll call you Sakura... But I like your name—Haruka."

"C-call me whatever you want..." Sakura pouted. "Just... it’s a bit rude to let only one person call you by your name."

Endo’s eyes sparkled. "So, Haruka, if you want to call me by my name, go ahead, say it..." he said excitedly.

"I don’t know your name, I just know you as Endo."

"Pfff, you're adorable..." he got punched, but it didn’t stop him from laughing. "That’s my surname. My name is..." he couldn’t finish; Sakura’s group had arrived and he had to go help.

Later, Sakura returned, surprised to see Endo was still there.

"My universe... Haruka, you're like the universe. I love your hair; the white represents the purity in your heart."

"Don’t you think... it’s weird," Sakura interrupted, blushing. "My hair color?"

"Of course not. Your hair colors are beautiful. The black represents nights of darkness... Your golden eye is like the stars, and your gray one is like the art of when someone traps and torments you. That color shows the depth of a person’s being."

Endo exclaimed passionately, looking at Sakura. He wasn’t lying; he hoped his words would reach the two-toned boy.

"Your name..."

"What...?"

"You didn’t tell me your name."

"Oh, right. Yamato, that’s my name..."

"Y-Yamato..." he struggled to pronounce it; also, it was the first time he called someone by their first name.

"Yeah, Haruka," Endo replied. His heart was pounding... he thought Sakura would ignore it, wouldn’t say it—but he did.

Sakura crossed his arms, glancing sideways at Endo, clearly blushing. "Don’t get so excited, Yamato. It’s not like I care that you call me by my name or anything... It’s just that... Well, it’s not bad."

Every word from Sakura made his face redder.

Endo couldn’t help but hug him at the sight.

Sakura seemed like a grumpy cat, but with a kind heart. His universe—that was Sakura.

—“Alright, now let go…” —Sakura said, but he gave in to the hug, letting Endo hold him a bit longer. His red ears betrayed his discomfort, but deep down, he enjoyed the closeness.

It was strange... because Sakura was so sweet. Endo wanted to keep him locked away forever.

But he wouldn’t... Sakura was someone free to live his life.

Endo smiled, holding him tighter than he meant to. It didn’t matter if Sakura didn’t admit it. To him, that moment was perfect.

And he hoped that he and Sakura would get along, or that Sakura would let him into his life. Just like that little kitten stole his heart the moment they met.
