these characters were so cute, i really wanted to draw them! i did a little improvising with rin's tail and the patterns on shinatobe's kimono, but i hope you don't mind!

Work Text:

A digital drawing of two women in a forest, standing under a torii. One of them is dressed in a green kimono, hovering off the ground while her long brown hair blows in the wind, cupping the other woman's face and looking at her affectionately. The second woman, dressed in miko clothing with a black fox tail peeking out from below her hakama, is touching the hand on her cheek and smiling.

Rin was born in the midst of war, not only between humans and yokai but between the yokai themselves. Determined to change things, the young kitsune dedicated herself to finding the fabled dead kami of Aomori. Eventually, she managed to uncover the kami's magically protected tomb deep in the forest, and reawakened Shinatobe, who agreed to help restore peace. The two now live in the forest together, as familiar and deity.
