Chapter Text
"You know if you really want to be a hero that badly there actually might be another way, just pray that you'll be born with a quirk in your next life and take a swan dive off the roof of the building."
Izuku was angry, upset even about what Kacchan said to him. He was going to stand up for himself saying he took it too far. He opened his mouth to say something but then he turned to look at Kacchan. Izuku froze, his mouth snapping shut when the other boy had small explosions coming out of his hand. "Something wrong?" Kacchan asked, Izuku just stood there not saying anything. Then Kacchan and his two friends left laughing about it, leaving Izuku there still frozen with tears rolling down his cheeks.
'Useless pathetic little quirkless Deku, useless, useless, useless, useless…"
He stayed there frozen with fat tears rolling down his cheeks for a good five minutes after the other three left before he snapped out of it, wiping away his tears grabbing his bag before walking into the empty hallways of Aldera Junior High. Almost everyone rushed out as soon as the bell rang so it was just Izuku and a handful of others still hanging around. Izuku ignores them while walking with his head lowered as he leaves the middle school.
'That Idiot, you can't go around telling people to kill themselves. If I really did jump, what would you do then?' Izuku thought to himself. He was outside of the school now walking near the Koi Pond looking down at the ground. When he heard movement in the water, he looked over to see his burnt notebook in the pond as some of the koi fish were trying to eat it. 'My dreams have turned into fish food' he thought.
"That's enough, give it back" Izuku grabbed his notebook out of the water. It was definitely ruined now but he still held onto it looking at it sighing. 'I really can't be a hero can I…no Izuku don't think like that you can still become an amazing hero…right?' He looked at the ground thinking as he started walking again 'ugh maybe Kacchan and the others are right there is no way such a useless quirkless person like myself can be a hero' He was slowly making his way home 'you know what I'm going to prove them wrong and I'll become the first quirkless hero out there and nothing is going to stop me.'
Izuku stops walking standing at the entrance of a small tunnel under a bridge. 'I'm going to prove them all wrong, I'm going to be just like All Might. No matter what others think I just need to believe in myself and keep on smiling just like him' He balls his hand into a fist holding it up in the air. He starts walking again determined, he smiles as he starts laughing making his voice deeper to sound like All Might. Then Izuku hears a noise from behind him as he reaches the end, turning around to see what it is. He gasps when he notices a slug coming out of the sewer. "A Villa-" Before he could finish that thought and fully process what's happening a slug started filling up his mouth and nose forcing its way into his body suffocating him.
"You'll make a perfect skin suit for me to hide in, kid!" He hears the villain say as he was grasping at the slug trying to pull it away from him. Izuku was trying to scream but it was muffled by the slug though as he just kept desperately grabbing at it.
"Don't worry, I'm just taking over your body. It'll be easier for both of us if you don't fight back." The villain says. Izuku wasn't really paying attention to what the villain was saying as he feels his body getting weaker and weaker each second, still trying to break free the tears he's been holding in finally coming out. "It will only hurt for a minute; you'll feel better soon."
'I can't…breathe!' Izuku thinks as he continues to just grab at the villain 'is this…how I…die.' He kept grabbing. 'No… not now!'
"Grab all ya want kid; my body is made of fluid." The villain laughs "Thanks for the help. You're a real hero to me, kid." Izuku closes his eyes, still trying to break free, his screams still muffled. "I didn't know he was in the city. I gotta get out of here fast before he tracks me down."
'My body…
getting… weak
I'm really dying…
No way…
I can't… this can't be the end…
Somebody… please…
Help...!
Everything goes dark. Izuku opens his eyes again when a strong blast of wind hits him, the villain gone, he's no longer suffocating and he's floating in the air. His visions blurry at first but then it forces on something a figure standing there it takes him a second to realize who it is.
'Is that… All…Might?' Izuku thinks his vision goes blurry again as he falls blacking out again.
– – – – – –
"Hey…"
"Wake up."
Izuku was slowly coming back to consciousness hearing a faint voice, feeling his cheek being slapped lightly but quickly.
"Hey!" The voice yelled, slapping him harder. Izuku's eyes shot open looking at the person. "Thought we lost you there!" All Might
"Ah!" Izuku screams, sitting up and moving back, surprised to see All Might, the number one hero, the most awesome person in the world.
"Well looks like you're moving around alright. Sorry about back there." All Might put his hand to the back of his neck looking genuinely sorry about it. "I didn't mean to get you all caught up in my justicing. Usually, I pay attention to keeping bystanders safe. But it turns out this city's sewer system is pretty difficult to navigate!" He laughs, Izuku is star struck looking up at All Might in shock and awe. "Anyways, you were a big help. Thank you! I've captured the evil-doer!"
'The most amazing hero in the entire world… All Might… the real thing… in the flesh… standing right in front of ME!' Izuku was freaking out and nervous, and his brain became a mess. 'He looks so much cooler in person! Holy crap, I gotta get an autograph.' He looks around him grabbing his notebook that was next to him checking his pockets. 'I've got a pen around here somewhere…' Izuku found one in his pocket.
"Please sign my notebook," He asks as he opens it up to what he thought was an empty page, but he saw All Might's signature looking back at him. He screams, surprised 'he already did!' He thinks standing up as he starts bowing a lot. "Thank you so much! This will be an heirloom, a family treasure passed down for generations to come!" Izuku had a big smile on his face he stops bowing when he hears All Mights voice.
“Uh-huh! Well, I've gotta get this guy to the police so they can take care of him. Stay out of trouble, see you around!” All Might turns his back to Izuku stretching his legs.
“Wait…you're leaving? Already?” Izuku asked frozen where he was.
“Pro heroes are constantly moving as well as enemies!” All Might said.
‘He can't go yet. I- There's still so many questions I have to ask him..’ He reached out, taking a step closer to All Might.
“Now stand back, I'm taking off!” He crouches down. “Thanks for your continued support!” All Might yelled jumping the next thing Izuku knew he was in the air holding on for dear life to All Might's leg. “Huh?”
“Ahhhhhh!” Izuku screamed his grip on All Might's leg tightening.
“Hey, hey, hey! What do you think you're doing?!” All Might asked his hand going onto his head trying to get him off his leg. “Let go, I love my fans, but this is too much!”
The wind was blowing in Izuku's face, his eyes and mouth being forced open “No way, we're flying!” The wind made his voice sound like he's talking into a fan. “If I let go now, I'll die!”
All Might stops trying to get him off his leg. “Oh, that's a good point.”
“I just have a lot... of things I want to ask you personally.” He looked at the number one hero as best he could with the wind blowing in his face. ‘I just wanna know…’ “You're my all-time favorite hero, All Might. Please!”
“Okay, okay! I get it just keep your eyes and mouth shut.” All Might agreed and Izuku closed his eyes and mouth, hiding his face in All Might's leg.
– – – – – –
A few minutes later they both ended up on top of a building, and Izuku finally let go of All Might's leg.
“My whole life just flashed before my eyes.” Izuku uttered shakily as he crouched over his hands on his knees.
“Not a very smart move. Bang on the door for a while, someone will let you in.” He started walking away, going closer to the edge of the building. “Now I have to go. See on the flip side.” Izuku snaps out of his shock at his words desperate for him to stay just so he can finally know.
“Wait, not yet.” Izuku stood up straight, tightening his fists. “One second!”
“No!” All Might's voice was serious, and he sounded a little annoyed. “I don't have any time.”
“I have to know” He yelled determination in his voice. The voices of everyone play in his head.
‘“Sorry kid, it's not gonna happen…”
“I'm sorry Izuku,” His mother sobs. “I wish things were different.”
“Defenseless Izuku! The school’s already crappy, you really wanna embarrass it more by failing so hard?” Kacchan said.’
Izuku looks down at his feet, too nervous to look at All Might. He could feel his face warm with embarrassment and his voice a little shaky when he finally talked. “Sometimes I do feel like I'm a failure… like there's no hope for me. But even so… I'm not gonna give up, ever!” He starts nervously twiddling his thumbs as he rambles on. “Is it possible to become a hero, even if I don't have a quirk? I'm a normal kid without any powers. Could I ever hope to be someone like you? Even if I'll never have superpowers… Even if everyone thinks I'm useless… Despite everything I still dream. And I must know. Is it possible to become a hero even if I don't have a quirk? I'm a normal kid without powers. Could I ever hope to be like you?” Izuku keeps his eyes squeezed shut.
“Without a quirk?” He hears All Might ask and Izuku decides to continue his rambling.
“People think I don't have a chance. Not having any powers makes me a weakling. My classmates like to make fun of me. But you know what? That makes me wanna prove them wrong. Ever since I was a kid, I've thought that saving people is the coolest thing you can do. I want people to see my fearless smile and feel safe. And be the kind of hero everyone looks up to. Just like you!” Izuku finally looks up looking at All Might but there was just a bunch of smoke that was fading away revealing someone who looked like a skeleton kinda like a homeless man. His eyes were sunken in too; his clothes looked too big and bangy. Izuku was shocked, screaming at the sight wondering what happened to All Might.
.
.
.
“I– Wait. Who…? What happened, you deflated! Ah! Where'd All Might go? You! You're not him. You're a fake! An imposter!”
The skeleton man sighs “I assure you that I am All M–”
“Impossible!” Izuku screamed, interpreting him.
“You know how guys at the pool are always sucking in and flexing and trying look buff?” He asks and Izuku can't believe what he's hearing. “I'm like that.” Supposedly All Might says flatly.
“This can't be real! No. I'm dreaming.” Izuku was shaking his eyes wide looking at this guy. “All Might's a giant of a man who saves everyone. He defeats all obstacles and wins the day with a fearless smile.”
The man sighs “There's plenty of fear behind that smile. I'm counting on you to keep your mouth shut. Don't go talking about this online or to your friends.”
“Huh…?” Izuku watched as All Might held up his shirt, revealing a bad looking scar. He gasped.
“Pretty gross, right? I got this in a big fight five years back. My respiratory system was basically destroyed. I lost my whole stomach. All the surgeries have pretty much worn me out. And it can't be fixed.” All Might put his shirt down. “Right now, I can only do hero work for about three hours a day. Rest of the time I look like this.”
Izuku gasps “No way… five years ago? So does that mean it was the fight with Toxic Chainsaw?” He asked.
“Wow, you know your stuff. But no. The punk may’ve landed some hits, but he couldn't bring me down. Most of the world has never heard of this fight. I did everything I could to keep it under the wraps. I'm supposed to be the guy who's always smiling, right? I'm the Symbol of Peace. People everywhere have to think that I'm never afraid.” All Might looks down. “But honestly, I smile to hide the fear inside. It's just a brave face I put on when the pressure is high. This job isn't easy.” Izuku was shocked by what All Might said, gasping again. “Pro heroes are always having to risk their lives. Some villains just can't be beaten without powers. So, can you be a hero? Not without a quirk.”
Izuku felt everything just shatter at his words feeling tears prick his eyes, but he holds them back lowering his head. “I see…” He mumbled holding it in. ‘Don'tcrydon'tcrydon'tcrydon’tcrynotinfrontofAllMight’
All Might starts walking towards the door. “If you wanna help people, there are plenty of other ways to do it. You could become a police officer. They get crap because the heroes capture most of the villains. But it's a fine profession.” He opens the door about to leave but he pauses for a second. “It's not bad to have a dream, young man. Just make sure your dreams are attainable. Realistic. Understand?” And just like that All Might left leaving a very heartbroken and dream crushed Izuku behind. He just stood there but not for long as a sudden explosion was heard in the distance, he looked in the direction of the sound, seeing a cloud of smoke.
“A villain! I wonder which heroes will show.” Izuku starts walking quickly to the door but then he freezes when he hears All Might's words in the back of his head.
‘Some villains just can't be beaten without powers. So, can you be a hero? Not without a quirk.’
Izuku sighs, walking into the building no longer really excited for the fight.
– – – – – –
He was walking down the street flipping through his notes in his notebooks.
‘He'll never be a hero. Better to find out now instead of later, I guess’
‘Make sure your dreams are attainable.’
Izuku sighed, closing his notebook “Even All Might said it. A hero needs a quirk.” He mumbles and feels the tears pricking his eyes again using his sleeve to wipe it away. “Don't cry, dammit.” He angrily wipes his eyes again. ‘Deep down, you knew this all along. You've just been avoiding reality. That's why you were trying so desperately to prove yourself wrong.’
Explosions go off and they sound close, so he looks up seeing a crowd of people ‘That's strange. Is the fight from earlier still going on? Why am I here? Did I subconsciously walk this way to check it out?’ He walks to the crowd stopping and turning to look at what's happening but there are people's heads in the way. ‘I shouldn't even stop. All my notes are useless.’ He moves so he can see, seeing a very familiar green slug. ‘That's the guy who attacked me!’ Izuku looked at the villain fire all around the alley. ‘That can't be right, All Might captured him.’ He remembered back on the roof he didn't see the bottle in All Might's pocket. ‘But the bottle…if he dropped it… that means… it's my fault.’ He looks at the heroes just standing there. ‘Why aren't the heroes doing anything?’
“It looks like they've met their match.” Someone in the crowd spoke. “Plus, the villain captured a kid. Things aren't looking good for him.”
His eyes widened looking at the villain. ‘He caught someone? I wonder how long they've been there. How can they survive being suffocated like that? I thought I'd die after only a few seconds of struggling.’ Izuku tightens his hands on the straps of his backpack. “Oh man” He mumbles.
“Wait, I'm confused. Isn't that the villain All Might was chasing earlier today?” Another person in the crowd said.
“What? All Might?! No way he lost, where is he?” The person from before asked.
“Well, can someone call him or something?” The other person said out loud.
“Why hasn't he shown up to help the heroes?” Izuku froze, remembering what All Might said to him.
‘I'm the one to blame.’ Izuku looked at the villain. ‘He wasted his energy on me. He can't power up yet. And none of the other heroes have the quirks to stop this monster.’ He took a few steps back away from the crowd. ‘It's my fault. I'm sorry. So sorry.’ He lowers his head as he turns as he starts walking away. ‘Help will show up and save the day, I'm sure… Someone… A real hero will come soon.’ He wasn't paying attention, accidentally bumping into someone from the crowd, he doesn't look up, he just mumbles a quick apology before walking faster away.
– – – – – –
All Might was watching blending into the crowd he felt worthless not being able to do anything he was caught up in his thoughts. He was knocked out of it though when someone bumped into him, he heard a familiar voice.
“Sorry.” He mumbled, sounding so broken and sad. When All Might turned to see it was the young man from before and he was going to say something, but the boy was already walking away. It was indeed the boy though he recognized that crazy fluff of green hair, but the boy's head was low as he quickly walked away. He looked sad and small. It hurts All Might's heart a little. He watched the boy walk until he turned the corner out of sight, and All Might stared at the corner. 'I'm sorry kid.’ He just watched for a few seconds before turning back to watch the villain attack again.
– – – – – –
Izuku was two blocks away from home and he could see his apartment building from where he was. His head low, he was coming to an alleyway, and he could see something on the ground at the entrance of it. The closer he got to it he realized it was a can. He walked over crouching down picking it up reading the label.
“Canned peaches huh?” He mumbled, turning it in his hand. He sees something in the corner of his eye that catches his attention. He turns his head looking over a grocery bag not far into the alley on the ground with the groceries dumped out. ‘That's strange, I guess someone dropped it?’ Izuku stood up going to the bag but before he could make it far, he noticed it, the person on the ground leaning against the wall. Izuku dropped the can while walking closer.
Then he stopped freezing when he realized who it was. “No. No. nononononono.’ Izuku ran to the person, his visions blurring. “Mom!” Izuku sobbed as he ran to his mother's side crying as he crouched down to her, noticing the large hole in her stomach. She was covered in blood still bleeding and he can see the small rise and fall of her chest as she breathes. Izuku's thoughts were running. ‘She's still alive but she's dying she can't die not right now no no nonowhatdoIdowhatdoIdo.’
“Mom! Mom everything is going to be okay I promise.” His heart was pounding as he sobbed, taking off the jacket to his school uniform. “It's going to be okay I- I just need to stop the bleeding.” He puts the jacket to the wound putting pressure on it. “It- it's going to be fine.” Izuku's voice was wobbly; he couldn't see through the tears, and he jumped when he felt a hand weakly go over his. He looked at his moms eyes as she stared back.
“Iz-Izu-ku” She whispered.
“Mom!”
“I-I'm s-so sorry ba-baby.” She weakly lifts her hand up to his cheek wiping his tears away. Izuku leans into her touch, closing his eyes as he tries to stop crying but he can't not right now.
“No don't be sorry e-everything is going to be okay y-you're going to live.” Izuku felt her hand tightening as he spoke.
“Izu-ku I-I love y-ou.” She was crying herself now. “C-an you p-ro-mise m-e some-thin.” Izuku didn’t want to think about this; she could just tell him later when she's in the hospital alive and well since she's going to make it, right?
“M-om.” he sobs, leaning into her hand more.
“Pl-ease baby,” she whispered. “Pro-mise me that you’ll ke-ep smiling.”
“N-no not without you!” He cried. With his free hand that isn't trying to stop the bleeding he puts it over her hand that's on his cheek.
“Promise me please.” She whispered sternly, her grip on his hand tightened. Izuku can't manage any words as he holds back another sob nodding. “One m-more th-ing.” He looks at her squeezing her hand. “I-I ma-y… have… lied to… you about yours and… your dads… quirk.” His mom whispered, catching Izuku by surprise as he looked at her with disbelief.
“Huh?”
“I-I’m so-sorry… you… act-ually have a… quirk.” Izuku was speechless by what his mom just whispered. “Y-ou… ha-ve y-our…dads q-uirk. H-his qu-irk… l-lets… h-im t-… take… a-and give o-th-ers… quirks. I-I’m s-sorry f-or not te-ll-… ing you b-but I wa-nt you to hav-e mine. S-o a p-art of… me… is al-ways w-ith you.” Izuku didn't know what to say. There was too much happening right now for him to process what’s happening.
‘I have a quirk and my mom wants me to have hers but I- I don't know how it works though how am I supposed to take it when I don’t know how oh god this is too much to process I-I-’
“Baby… you’-re mut-ter-ing.” She laughs, it's weak but still there along with a smile.
“Ah! I’m sorry.” Izuku squeaks and jumps back a little.
His mom chuckles again, tucking some of his hair behind his ear. “I-It's… fine.” She coughs a little. “J-just f-o-cus… and-d you… cou-ld do it.”
“Just focus.” Izuku repeats, closing his eyes. He still had tears pouring out of his eyes, but he just ignored that, and he tried to focus on taking his moms quirk that he still can't believe is happening. After a few seconds of him just holding his mom's hand focusing on this so called quirk he had Izuku realized he went into this almost void like space. There was this glowing orb just floating there. Izuku reached out for it, taking it in his hold pulling it towards himself, then everything went white and next thing he knew he was back to the real world with his dying mother in his arms. He opened his eyes looking at her. “Th-ank you.” She whispered, closing her eyes.
“Mom.” He whispered, his voice breaking as he started sobbing again. “Please don't go, I don't wanna be alone please.” She finally stops breathing and seconds later her hand over his loosens as the other one on his cheek is only staying because Izuku is holding it there. He gently puts her hand down pulling her into a hug as he just sobs holding her lifeless body close to him. That's the last thing he remembers before he blacked out for the third time that day.
– – – – – –
Izuku's head hurt and everything just felt heavy. He didn't want to open his eyes, he didn't want to live, he just wanted to sleep forever just like his mom.
‘She's really gone huh… it's my fault too. If only I could've done something. And apparently, I had a quirk this whole time? Now I have my mom's too. I don't know what to think about it. I don't want to think about it.’ Izuku brought his arm up covering his eyes, sighing.
“Kurogiri, do you know why this kid is actually here.” Someone grumbles.
“I don't know Tomura. All I know is that Sensei needs this kid for something.” Kurogiri Izuku assumes replies.
He moves his arm off his face, opening his eyes staring up at a ceiling he doesn't recognize. ‘If this was yesterday, yesterday? I don't know what time it is… Oh well it doesn't matter who cares. Besides I have a quirk now, not a strong one or one that would be useful in a fight, but I still have one.’ Izuku sits up from where he was laying. He looks around realizing he's in some sort of bar and there are only two other people there. “Where am I? Why am I on the floor?” Izuku thinks at least he thinks he thought it but instead he said it out loud alerting the others.
“Oh look, the brat’s awake!” The guy sitting on the bar stole said turning to face him. He had light blue hair and for some reason severed hands along his body, his face covered by one, but Izuku can see red eyes between the fingers. There was another one behind the counter cleaning a glass. He was just this purple mist with glowing yellow eyes. Normally he would be scared for his life right now, but he honestly didn't care that villains had him, they could kill him all they want honestly.
“And you are?” Izuku said his voice was deprived of any emotion other than annoyance in his voice at the skinny guy calling him a brat when he knows nothing about him.
“What makes you think I'd tell you?” The blue haired man brings up his hand to scratch at his neck.
“I don't know, maybe ‘cause that's how introductions work.” He said sarcastically, crossing his arms as he narrowed his eyes at him.
“I'm going to kill you!” He yelled. Izuku can see pure rage on his face as he gets up charging at him, his hand coming close to his face. He doesn't flinch back like he would have not caring about what the villain might do to him. But the hand doesn't come closer than that, only a centimeter away from touching him. He doesn't know what this villain's quirk is, but he can only assume it is with his hands.
“Do it, I dare you too.” He just looked at his hand and then next thing Izuku knew he was being slapped in the face. It was quick and hard enough to whip his head to the side.
“You're lucky Sensei told me not to kill you, Brat.” He growled but before the villain could back away Izuku punched the villain in the side of his face knocking his hand mask thing off his face. “Father!” Quickly went to his hand picking it up and putting it back on. Izuku only got a quick glance at his face. “You son of a fucking BITCH!” He holds him up by the collar. Izuku notices his pinky sticking out, so it doesn't touch him. He takes note of that looking up at the man child in the eyes.
“You know nothing about my mom, you stupid man child.” Izuku snaps back feeling really angry his mom was brought up.
“Oh, you fucking stupid annoyi-”
“Tomura Shigaraki.” An unfamiliar voice scolded. Shigaraki froze. “Put him down.” Someone came up beside him putting a hand on Shigaraki’s shoulder. He lets go of Izuku's pushing him to the ground.
“S-sensei.” Shigaraki turns to face him.
“Go sit down or something so I can talk to our new guests.” The probable leader of this small group since Shigaraki called him Sensei. Also, he's so intimidating he just makes him feel uncomfortable in a way. Probably because of the no face look with the tubs coming out of a mask that covers half of his non existing face.
“Fine.” Shigaraki snaps walking away going back to Kurogiri sitting in a stool glaring back at them.
“Now Izuku let's talk.” He offered his hand out to him. Izuku just looked up at the offered hand hesitating before reaching out but before he could take his hand, he noticed the red liquid covering his hand. His mom's lifeless eyes flash in his mind making him freeze as he goes back to that moment. His mom in his arms again. He felt himself wanting to cry, he wanted to scream everything sucked, no one was there for him, the one person that wanted him, cared about him that loved him was gone.
‘I'm alone, I'm alone, alone, alone alonealonealonealonealoneohgodthatmakesmeaorphannowohgodohgodohgodimalonemymomsdeadohgodohgodohg-’
“Iz-ku… you -ear m…?” His thoughts were interrupted by a voice he can't really make out who's voice it was or the words, but it was strangely comforting. “Can you hear me Izuku?” The Sensei guy asked. Izuku can't really talk right so he just nods, keeping his eyes closed. He hears a sigh, and the guy is talking again. “Is it okay for me to hug you?” Izuku hesitated but then he thought about it. Something about this guy's voice was calming and he wanted a hug even if it was from a villain. So he shakily nodded his head. Not long after he felt two strong arms wrapped around him and he was being pulled towards him.
Time passes and Izuku finally calms down, finally pulling away from the man. “Thank you.” He whispered not looking at him, a little embarrassed.
“Well, I wouldn't be a good father if I left my son alone after everything that happened to his mom.”
“What?” Izuku looked at him, his eyes wide.
“My villain name is All for One but I’m also known as Hisashi Midoriya, I'm your father.”
“Dad.” He whispered looking up at the man that hasn't been in his whole life ditching his mom to take care of him all on her own. Izuku should be angry at him but knowing that he isn’t alone made him happy, relieved even. He felt himself start to cry again hugging his dad again.
“I know kid I'm here now sorry for being there for you and your mom.” He felt his dads hand on top of his head holding Izuku close as he cried. “I saw your mom. I'm sorry about her. You must be very upset. I am too. I was hoping to talk to her. I was just on my way there when I found you both in the alley.” Izuku didn't know what to say so he just stayed quiet. “I’m surprised the heroes didn’t show up to help her, technically it was the heroes that killed your mother. Not petty villains that did it just for fun and attention the heroes should have been there they failed at their job making sure everyone is okay.” Izuku looked at his dad as all his thoughts on heroes started to change but at the same time Izuku didn't want to believe him.
“But-” Izuku tried
“No but’s Izuku I would never lie to you and trust me those heroes you love so much are the real villains. I mean they let the kindest woman die just because they were too busy to do anything about it. They let those villains do that to her. And think about it son, the heroes can stop what they hate but when villains try it’s illegal. Plus, most heroes just do it for the money and the fame.” His dad coughed covering up what he said but it kinda sounded like Uwabami.
“Huh what was that dad?” Izuku asked
“Nothing, don't worry about it Izuku.” He waved his hand in front of his face. “Anyways there are the heroes that are shit to their families.” He coughed again, this time Izuku heard Endeavor.
“Huh? I'm sorry, what?” Izuku questioned as his dad just ignored him, caring on with what he was saying.
“Then the ones that are only heroes because they public find them pretty.” This time Izuku heard Hawks when his dad coughed for the third time. Full on just name dropping heroes. “I mean there are the annoying ones that actually do their jobs. Like that dumbass All Might.” His dad lowered his voice at the last thing he said but Izuku still heard it. Before he could say anything though his dad kept talking. “But still, that's only a handful of heroes out of the millions that are out there, and they are all so annoying. That's not important right now though. What I'm trying to say is that there are so many heroes that could have done something to save your mom and yet you lost your amazing mother, and I lost my wife. So now what do you think of the hero's son?” Izuku sat and thought about what his dad asked, finally knowing what to say to it all after a few minutes.
“They don't sound as amazing as I thought they were now. I guess I was more focused on how cool they’re quirks were that I was blinded by everything else. Now that I think about it, I feel like most of the villains were judged wrong. The more I think about it the heroes are the ones who failed them… They failed mom.” Izuku mumbled, lowering his head. “They even made it so that it's okay for people to make fun of kids without quirks…” Izuku stopped talking, thinking about it more. “Oh my All Might the hero system is messed up.”
“Now you’re talking kid.” His dad congratulated him by giving Izuku a pat on the head.
“Also, um dad I wanna find whoever killed her. I want them to pay for what they did. Another thing is being a hero doesn’t seem as cool anymore. All Might even told me I couldn't be one but I wanna show them all that I'm not weak. I mean I have a quirk don't I. Why don't I take my revenge now to show them that they messed with the wrong kid.” Izuku spoke, looking at his fist with determination in his eyes. All for one looked at his son seeing so much potential.
“Oh, you’re going to be so much worse than me” His dad said under his breath. “I’ll help you do that. I’ll help you train your quirk too. I mean we have the same one.”
“Really!” Izuku asked, smiling
“Of course, Izuku, why don't you join the League of Villains? I’ll make sure your dreams come true.”
‘I always wanted to be a hero, but everyone told me I couldn’t be one everyone but my mom now she's gone, the one person that cared. But now I have my dad back and he's telling me I’m not just a weakling that I can be strong and since no one else seems to want me why not become their worst nightmare.’
“Okay I’ll join.” Izuku decided. ‘This is the best choice, my only choice.’
“Excellent!”
‘It's the right choice’

‘Right?’
