Chapter Text
~~Dazai~~
Dazai held back a cold shiver as he lay on the metal slab in Mori’s office. Mori rolled down Dazai’s blood-soaked sock to treat his wound. ‘This stupid dress could at least have been warmer,’ Dazai thought as he squirmed to try and fix the periwinkle ruffles beneath him. After a few minutes, Mori finally broke the silence.
“Fyodor Dostoevsky”
“…. The author or the terrorist?” Dazai questioned blankly and with increasing boredom.
Mori laughed sickeningly, “Why would that author ever be important in our line of work, Dazai~?” Dazai sighed as Mori started on his other leg, pulling off the sock and tossing it into the ever growing pile of clothes (dresses) ruined with blood.
“Fyodor Dostoevsky, youngest recorded terrorist, ability unknown, child genius, cause of the downfalls of several organizations. However, he was reported missing 3 and a half years ago. Why?” Dazai said, finally answering Mori’s question.
“No reason~!”
‘Why’d I even expect him to tell me?’ Dazai made sure not to show the emotion bubbling up inside him at the mention of Hogwarts. He hadn’t known if he would be returning this year until now. He was eager to see everyone again, even if he was still in denial about missing them.
“Rintaruuuu~! I want sweetsss~!” Elise whined as she broke another crayon.
“Later, dear, later,” Mori said in his stupid slimey tone as he finished applying the bandages. Dazai sat up on the slab and Mori handed him his suit. ‘Finally, I can change out of this stupid dress,’ Dazai thought. He snatched the clothes out of Mori’s hands and hopped off the slab. He held back the dizziness that lurked at the back of his head as he stood. Mori opened the door and ushered Dazai out with Elise not far behind.
“When am I leaving?” Dazai asked as they neared his room. Mori didn’t respond until they entered his room and closed the door.
“Same as last year. However, I will accompany you for a while, as we visit the Malfoy’s.” Featherbrain chirped from her cage in the corner. Dazai looked at the doctor with a questioning look in hopes to get more information.
“Just to work out a couple details. Nothing to worry about! I hope you’ll keep the boy busy while we’re there, won’t you? Wouldn’t want him eavesdropping now would we?” Mori said with that disgusting smile of his. He patted Dazai on the head then walked out.
Dazai changed into his suit then opened Featherbrain’s cage. She quickly flew around the room and stretched her wings then landed next to Dazai on his bed. Dazai laid down and took a coin out of his pocket. He flipped it around in between his fingers, thinking. He let his mind wander as he lay there, flipping the coin in the air every now and then.
I wonder what kind of pranks Fred and George have done over the summer. I’m sure I’ll hear about it when I get back… Am I going to stay with the Malfoy’s until school starts or with Tom? I wonder what kind of classes I’ll have next year, I think I remember Divinations being one. That doesn’t sound super interesting unfortunately; although, I bet Mori would find it useful. I shouldn’t think about them so much, it’s unbecoming of a mafioso.
I wonder what Blaise is doing. I think I remember him saying his home life is boring, but at least he gets to see the outside world without being watched.
Dazai laid there for a long time, thinking about the soon-to-come school year. He tried to ignore how his mind kept falling to his gang, especially Blaise, but he noticed. He tried to deny how he missed them but, he did not yet notice how the feeling among missing Blaise was starting to hurt more than the others.
Dazai curled up in his bed, trying to ignore the feeling of bugs crawling over every inch of his skin. He knew it was just his paranoia but that didn’t help much. Featherbrain hopped closer to him and pressed her head against Dazai’s hair.
“Stop that, bird. You will not groom me,” Dazai said firmly, gently pushing Featherbrain away. She flapped up and went back to the foot of the bed.
Soon he fell asleep with Featherbrain at the foot of his bed.
