Work Text:

“Quickly make a wish, Clove!” Adam almost frantically commanded as a “star” above them shot by.

Clover however missed the chance, standing bewildered and nearly jumping from his sudden reaction. “It's gotta be another one of those vaultie things...” She pondered, keeping her gun trained on the only other doorway in the planetarium. Once she was sure Adam could be the only source of noise in the area her attention refocused onto her lover. “Calm down sweety, what's got you so hopped up now?”

Adam stood frantically at the lost opportunity. “Aw you missed it! You're supposed to make a wish when a shooting star passes by.” Midway through his explanation he knelt next to the ancient projector at the center of the room and began fumbling around with all the bits and pieces he could freely rearrange.

“Oh honey, those are just a bunch of fancy lights though?” Fully tuned in on the conversation now she rested a hand on her hip with her weapon at her side, tilting her head watching him hop to work on the machine.

“I know I know, but when's the last time we got to see any stars in the sky?” She pondered his question and concluded he did have a point, skies polluted with radiation made it hard to see the stars on most nights, sometimes it would be relatively clear and she would bask in the vastness of the sky. When she hadn't replied he carried on. “Exactly, so let's have a little fun with our imagination huh?” At this point he realized there wasn't much he could do with the machine itself to start up the presentation again, upon noticing the employees only sign on a door nearby he made his way inside quickly, leaving Clover there to ponder further.

“He gets so excited by the weirdest things.” A fond grin on her face as she waited patiently, it was close to their six month anniversary, or at least she guessed such, it was difficult to use specific measurements of time without asking him to check his pip-boy. Still she knew it had to be close. “Six months…” It sank in, six whole months since they’d become official, six more on top of that since he became her owner. One whole year since he freed her, since her whole world changed for the better, and one whole year since she fell in love with him.

Her train of thought was shelved as the lights dimmed and the projector began rotating like it had when they entered the room, Adam returning just in time for the presentation to begin and nearly tackling her as he dragged her to one of the seats. She couldn’t focus on the presentation of the universe though, her attention instead shifted on how his hand had taken her her own. The warmth emanating from it held nothing but love and comfort to which she gladly embraced, before long the same projection of a shooting star flew by and a nudge at her elbow became her cue to make up for earlier's missed opportunity.

Her eyelids shut and her grip of his hand firm she made a wish as requested, eager to share the moment forever if she could. A quick peck on her lips caught her by surprise when she was finished and he greeted her with a dopey grin. “Happy anniversary Clover, I hope your wish comes true.”

Without a second's hesitation she had pounced on him in return, knocking the both of them onto the floor with an affectionate kiss in return. Eventually parting, she stay laying against his chest with a tender caress of his cheek. “It sure has Lover~.
