Don't Open the Door for Strangers

Summary:

A young boy answers a knock at the door and sees a well-dressed stranger who puts on a pair of latex gloves and asks if the boy is home all by himself. The boy replies that he is before realizing that he just made a huge mistake.

Work Text:

A young boy was sitting at home alone when there was a knock at the front door. The boy got off the sofa and went to answer it. Once he had opened the door, the boy saw a man standing there that he did not recognize. The man was well-dressed in a three-piece suit and he was sporting a pair of oval-framed glasses as well as a medical mask. The man looked down at the young boy, then took a pair of latex gloves out from an inside pocket of his suit jacket and put them on.

“Are you here all by yourself?” the man asked as he tightened his latex gloves and made sure they were on firmly.

“Y-yes,” the boy stammered without thinking as he nervously watched the masked man glove up. The boy suddenly realized he had made a huge mistake, but it was too late. He quickly tried to shut the door, but the man blocked it with his arm and forced his way into the house. The man grabbed the boy and shut the front door with his foot. He held a latex-gloved hand over the boy’s mouth so that the kid could not scream.

The boy was carried into the living room and slammed down onto the sofa. The boy kicked and flailed as much as he could, but the man held him down with one arm and continued to keep a gloved hand over the boy’s mouth. With his other latex-gloved hand, the man reached into a different inside pocket of his suit jacket and pulled out a small black box with wired pads. The man attached the pads to the boy’s face and torso while still holding him down against the sofa. Once all the pads were attached, the man turned the dial on his device and then flipped the switch to ‘on’ position.

The boy flopped around and convulsed on the sofa as a very painful electric shock flowed through his body. The masked man gazed down and observed the agony he was inflicting on his victim. Occasionally, the man turned the dial on his device to increase the intensity of the electric shock. He continued to callously watch as the boy was being electrocuted. No one was coming to the rescue.

And that, kids, is why you should never open the door for strangers when no one else is home and most certainly why you should never let them know you are alone. I hope you have learned an important lesson from all this. Who knows? It could happen to you if you are not careful and take precautions.

Notes:

Sometimes, you get a story idea in your head that you just have to write down, even if you question the subject matter. Otherwise, it's just going to keep rattling around in your brain.

I added the last paragraph to make this a cautionary message as I felt it was the only appropriate way to make this idea work.
