Chapter Text

A storm was brewing.

Its sharp cold winds blowing and the clouds pouring down heavily tears. The usually blue ocean darkened as it swished and turned with angry currents as if it wanted to sallow the world.

The traveling group was in Wind’s world. When they exited from the portal, the sky was clear, the sun was blazing and the ocean was calm.

They met with Tetra and her crew, they let her and Wind catch up with each other. Afterwards, Tetra said she wouldn’t mind if she were to drop them off at Wind’s home island.

Wind was overjoyed of course.

They said goodbye to Tetra once they arrived near the shore. The brothers not minding getting their lower halves wet, well some of the brothers.

Time simply moved through like it was just another thing.

Sky looked drowsy when he was walking through the water, clutching the master sword tightly. He would’ve fallen in multiply times if the others hadn’t have quick instincts.

Twilight had an expression like he didn’t know whether to be joyous or not, oddly he shook his head from side to side like a wolf when soaked with water.

Warrior looked a bit dismay when walking

through the water, he kept his hands near his head trying to not get any splashes of water on his hair.

Wild moves through it like Time but along with Wind search through the shore trying to find sea-shells and other items to store. Four looked torn in between joining them or just continuing his way to the shore along the others.

Legend looked like the water had personally offended him. He had made Wild give him his raft to borrow it to sail across the short shore, the water barely reaching Wind’s waist. It was honestly baffling to say the least, and Warrior looked tempted to join him.

And Hyrule? Well, Hyrule simply strolled through the water. A pleasant smile on his face.

Hyrule personally preferred the land of the earth instead of the everlasting voided space of the ocean beneath his feet. But that doesn’t mean he didn’t like it, no. It was a refreshing change to experience the magic of the sea. It was wild and untamed, always changing tides and never following a steady rhythm.

Hyrule let out a sigh when his feet left the soggy squishy sand and immediately met the hot dry sand.

The sand sticking to his soles and latching onto the leftover of water droplets from walking through the ocean shore.

That was going too difficult to wash off.

Hyrule thought, his ears flicker when he heard the cheerful voice of Wind.

“No, I’m gettin' dis fer me sister! It’s a gift since I’ve been away fer so long.” Wind said to Wild, who had an armful of a variety of sea-shells. His sheikah slate was on and was verbally speaking for Wild in his world’s Zelda voice.

Fishing too, perhaps ?” Flora’s voice spoke in a smooth but monotone voice.

Wind tilt his head to the side, thinking. He then nodded and grinned, “Aye! I’ll get some fer me grandma 'n fer Aryll. 'n fer me mates too, I bet me mates won’t believe how good homemade fried fish be!”

Wild gave a small smile and walked out of the water to where the others were, carrying the armful of shells to them. Upon seeing it, they gave out a vanity of looks to Wild who let out a soundless sheepish chuckle.

Wind looked up from his search through the water when a shadow blocked the sunlight from his face.

Hyrule knelt down next to Wind, the cold water rising to his waist. He felt the gentle laps of water on his back from where the waves would come at hurtling speed then slowly stop and ease into a relaxing brush of water.

“Do yer not wish to met with thou family?” He asked Wind, he put his hands under the water. Watching the water distort his hands, he briefly looked up to look at Wind.

Wind had his eyes turn downward, a sad smile on his face. “I do. But, I guess I wants t' get somethin' fer 'em first. Jus' so…when I see thar reaction. 'twould feel real.”

How sad.

“I guess ye could say I’m stallin' fer time.” A quiet moment, the sounds of the gentle waves of the ocean rising and falling. Rising and falling. Crashing against the sand and the rocks far beyond the reef. The cries of seagulls, as they fly around. The small air bubbles and small pops of water as fish peer and then disappear back under the surface of the sea.

And then…

“Doth thou would to hie and fish?” Hyrule broke the silence that had fallen upon them.

Wind glanced up, surprise before a little laugh erupted from him. “Haha! Ye sound like Sky when ye said dat!”

Hyrule let out an amuse sigh, “Well, he be around. Words are similar, yes? Some notes, notes. Mine broken from the Fallon of thou world. Yes, that it is.”

At the sound of fallen, Wind lost a big of his grinned. “O-oh, sorry…”

“No issue.” Hyrule dismissed the issue. And lifted his hand out of the water and flapped it at Wind. A small splash of seawater spattered towards Wind.

Wind let out a giggle, “Hey! Ye got water on me!”

“Speak like a pirate, thou yer aren’t. Yes?” Hyrule resorted back to him.

They both laughed.

And after a moment, once they got their laughter under control.

A content silence filled the air for a moment.

Hyrule then saw something, it reminded him of something.

“Are thou not going to hie and fish?” Hyrule pointed to the raft that was left behind on the shore, Legend left it behind and Wild didn’t seem to mind it much though. “Ere it’s get late?”

At that Wind jumped up, water getting everywhere. Hyrule closed his eyes before the salty water got in them. “Me, ye be right! I’ve got t' hurry afore the sun sets. The others 'ave already left t' get settle fer the night wit' Grandma 'n Aryll, savvy?”

“Yes, they left yet I reckon they are watching us just lest. Send Wolfie out, they might. Yes, they might.” Hyrule continues, “Hold shells?” He held his arms out.

Wind nods and hands over the shells before bolting off to the raft. Water kicking up as he moves. Hyrule looks down at the four shells Wind had handed to him. He observed them, a dark blue shell that had a spiral tip and faded to a teal ish color, another was a pale peach one with an oval shape with white spots like water pattern on top of it. Then a dark color shell that resemble the inside of an ear.

Hyrule knew that because he had to heal the chain multiply times for when the Gibdos  or ReDead that Time sometimes referred to had deafen them multiply times on an occasion. Hyrule remembers when his magic had supplied him the outline of the ear whenever he had to heal them.

Hyrule let out a hummed, reminiscing the memories fondly. Finally, the last shell appeared similar to a crabs claw. An orange hue faded to a mix of peach-pink. It was a nice combination.

Best to take this inside. Lest it get lost.

Hyrule glanced at Wind, he was currently trying to push the raft far enough into the shore to where the water would then pick it up and carry it, so that the waves would not try and push it back.

I won’t be for long. He will be fine.

Hyrule thought.

He can handle himself well.

“Yes he can, yes he will, and yes he shall.” Hyrule muttered his breath, taking a breath to ease his worries.

He then lifted himself up and got out of the water, water towards the house that was illuminated brightly inside.

Not knowing that the waters were swirling.

Twilight ears perked up and he looked up from where he was standing at the entrance to the house.

“Hyrule! You’re back! ya 'n wind doin' okay?” Twilight scanned the area around Hyrule, noting that Wind was not with him.

“Yes, yes. We are. Came to give thou ‘tis.” He holds up the four shells for Twilight to see.

Twilight eyes lit up and he walked forward and stared intently into the shells. “Well I’ll be damn, the kid sure knows how to pick 'em! Rare ones they are.” He took one and ran his fingers down the smooth side, looking at the colors. “The colors are combined good too.” He said to himself.

“Leave it inside Wind’s bag. Yes? Yes.” Hyrule walked past Twilight and enter the house.

Time who shedded some of his armor was sitting and seemed to be staring at the sky. His gaze flickered to Hyrule for a moment before saying, “The sky is darkening.”

Four who was right by him and observing Warriors sword let out a huff, “We never understood what the old man says.” He used the royal ‘we’ and did not look up from the sword. “Also, hello Hyrule. You are alright?”

“Yes, yes. I am. Happy to see you. Fine? Yes, fine as thou can be.” Hyrule chimed back at him. Time twitched for a moment, before staring solemnly at the sky.

“He’s saying the sky is storming, you imbeciles!” Legend pikes up from behind the couch. He was sitting criss-cross on the floor. Picking at his rings and going through his stuff.

“We still don’t that understand that language of yours.” Warriors replied when waking out of the kitchen archway. He had his hair prim and brushed. He was out of his armor and was dress in casual wear. He looked with blatant distaste at Legend who glared at him.

Legend lift his hands up in a closed fist. And oh. Hyrule could immediately tell what was going to happen.

“You—“

“Legend pipe down.”

Time cut off Legend who let out groaned of anger. But put his hands down. Time didn’t once turn away from gazing at the sky, “Warriors, stop aggravating him.”

Warriors side eyed him, “Whatever. Hyrule, why are you alone and without Wind?” Warriors put his hands in his hips and tried to stare sternly at him. But Hyrule who had gotten use to the gaze, didn’t shoulder down.

“He is getting fish. That he is.” He said. And it seems that was the wrong thing to say.

Because Time stopped gazing at the sky and turned to face him. Four looked up from the sword to look in disbelief at him. Hyrule heard a, “Gosh darn it.” From behind him. And Warriors stern glare deepen.

“Why is he out there alone when Time said there might be a storm coming?” Warriors loudly said.

“Oh wow, looks like you can understand him.” Legend mocked. He had stopped picking at his rings and had all of his items back in his bag.

“Now is not the time Legend.” Warriors warned, sending Legend a warning glance.

Legend stood up and walked next to Hyrule, he study the shells in Hyrule hands and peeked at the one in Twilight’s. He let out a ‘Hm.’ And took the shells from Hyrule grasp.

Hyrule let him.

A storm?

Why didn’t Hyrule notice? Why didn’t Hyrule known ?

Now thinking upon it. He didn’t connect with the world once getting here. He felt the magic yes, be he didn’t connect.

Was it because there is no land? No. There are fairies and they can use magic without a vast majority of the land so it can’t be that and there is land, on some parts.

Hyrule closed his eyes and reached towards the now-awaken energy lying deep within his soul.

His magic questioned him. Why are you checking, it asked.

Hyrule viewed closely, his magic was tightly tied within his vessel. He could feel the energy in this world but he couldn’t interact with it. Which means if he were to run out, he would have to rely on potions to help recover his magic or on one of his brothers who would have to lend him their magic.

Which he refused to do. If he could  recovered his magic normally before but his brothers couldn’t and needed potions. He wasn’t going to use them and take their magic till they have no more and then had to waste potions.

No. He refused to.

Besides, he was half fae. He already had a large amount of magic power anyways.

As long as I use it wisely, I should be fine.

His magic asked again, Why are you checking?

He told it, why didn’t I connect with magic of the world?

It told him, because something notice you are not of this timeline. Because you are not of this world, It said. It paused, then added, because your half can’t handle the magic.

What?

“—ule!”

“—rule!”

“—okay?”

“—t know…”

“HYRULE!”

The storm is roaring, it said before going quiet and still.

Hyrule opened his eyelids so fast, he swore he saw a flash of light in his vision.

He saw the others stare at him in worry and confusion. But he didn’t think much of it as he gasped out, “Wind .”

Time moved with a flurry of motions, he walked to the window and threw the curtain to the side with so much force, it almost was ripped off. Rain was pouring from dark clouds outside. “Storm .” He hissed out, teeth clenched.

At that Warrior swirled into action, he began to give out orders, “Four tell Sky to stay behind and watch over Wind’s family. Get Wild over here to prepare with healing potions and water base potions. We’re gonna need them. Twilight we are going to need your nose.”

Four nodded and left the room down the hallway quickly.

Warrior looked towards Legend. Legend let out an annoyed huff, “Yar, Yar. I should hath something to use. Especially for the sea.” He fiddle with one of his rings when he said that.

Warrior nodded and then glance towards Time who had his orcania in his hand, and oddly enough. A weird swim wear outfit.

Warrior didn’t questioned it and said to Hyrule, “Do you know where you left from?”

“Yes, yes. I do, I do!” He answered, his words repeating more and more as he started to shake with guilt and worry.

Hyrule felt a hand land on his shoulder, “Hey, it’s okay. Ya didn’t mean to 'n ya didn’t know it was 'unna storm today.” Twilight tried to comfort Hyrule but Hyrule shook his head.

“No, no! Thath the issue! I should’ve known! I should’ve, definitely, yes, yes!” Hyrule ranted angrily.

His magic told him something he didn’t have time to think upon since he had to save Wind first.

Wind. Is he alright?

Legend shared a glance with Twilight over his head.

Time stared at him.

He was sailing, wasn’t he?

No. No. No. NO!

The sea!

Loud, rapid footsteps slammed down on the floor of the hallway. Four appeared along with Wild. Wild looked a mess with blood of monsters, and splatter of different colors all over his tunic. He had an armful of potions, blue, green, red, grayish blue, and etc.

“We..” Four huffed, “—are here.” He breathed out as he leaned against the wall slightly.

Wild walked forward, his slate lightening up and Zelda’s voice sounding out. “ What do you need?”

“Great.” Warrior said, but he didn’t look happy at all, his face was still pulled in a tight expression. “Now we can leave.”

THOOM!

A shrieking sound thundered out so loudly everybody jumped up. A flash of light lit up the sky and the rain began to pour down harder. Like someone was wailing , Hyrule thought.

A little girl’s cry echo through the house.

Aryll , he thought.

Wind.

There’s no time, we’ve waited long enough.

Hyrule turned on his heel, magic flaring up and gathering at the center of his chest.

“Hyrule?” He heard Legend asked, he sounded shaky. Hyrule notice but didn’t turn back to face them.

He pushed past Twilight and cried out to the others, “There’s no time!”

And he ran.
