Chapter Text
When Felix first saw Hyunjin, he was awestruck. The man was just drop dead gorgeous. Hyunjin was wearing an oversized black graphic tee with abstract designs in neon hues, layered beneath a denim jacket adorned with colorful patches and metal studs. The jacket was worn open, revealing the tattered edges of the shirt. He had on loose-fitting cargo pants in a faded olive green, with deep pockets and frayed hems. On the feet, scuffed combat boots with their laces slightly untied. As if that wasn’t enough, a beanie was pulled low over the forehead, completing a look that screamed for attention.
And currently, said man was walking towards a flustered Felix with a smirk on his lips. Felix turned his head away abruptly, what the heck?
“You’re a new face, never seen you before, where’re you from?” Hyunjin stopped near Felix and leaned against the bar counter he was sitting on. He still had that smile on, except now he was looking straight at the blonde in front of him. His eyes staring at Felix’s freckles as his expression saddened slightly before going back to normal like nothing happened. Felix chose not to say anything.
“I’m from out of town, just got here a few days ago.”
“It’s always good to know someone when you're new, I’m Hyunjin.” The taller said with a smile.
Felix felt his heartbeat go a little bit faster as he held out his hand for hyunjin to shake, “Hyunjin, that’s a nice name. I’m Lee Felix.”Saying the other’s name out loud had him feel so many things, but the one that surprised him the most was the familiarity. It felt like he’d said it a million times before.
“Hey, you got time tomorrow? I can bring you around town, introduce you to the other folks.” That was smooth.
”Do you even know everybody for you to do that?” Felix laughed, bringing a hand to his hip.
”Take a look at who’s bringing you,” Hyunjin smirked, “and even if they don’t know who I am, looking at your face will make them want to talk to you all the same.”
Maybe Hyunjin just called Felix pretty indirectly, but he chose to not think about that.
“Alright, it’s a date.”
Hyunjin beamed. Felix thought it was cute.
Felix totally did not spend the next morning digging out his entire wardrobe just to choose a suitable outfit for his first ever date with a guy he literally just met the day before. Right, Right, he met Hyunjin yesterday, yet it felt like they’ve known each other for years.
He didn’t find it weird thoughugh. Soulmates did exist for a reason.
And so, with just a failed Honey pancake to last him for the rest of the day, he set out to find the famous Hwang hyunjin.
As it turned out, he didn’t even have to find him.
Hyunjin was leaning against a motorcycle, arms crossed against his chest casually. He looked up when Felix came out of his apartment and flashed him a gorgeous smile. He gestured at his vehicle, which was in a striking shade of red, with his hand and got on it himself. Felix shaked his head laughing before climbing on behind Hyunjin.
Their surrounding turned into blur, Felix wrapped his arms around Hyunjin’s waist and propped his chin on Hyunjin’s shoulder. The other flinched, but relaxed under Felix’s touch after a while.
“How’d you know where I live? I don’t remember mentioning it yesterday.” Felix asked, his carefully styled hair flying everywhere as they drove, but he didn’t care.
“You’re new, came to the bar with neat clothes and hair. You know, the wind around this part of the city isn’t exactly friendly. So I guessed you must lived close to the bar. And the only apartment near it was the one you’re living in. So, bingo.” Hyunjin explained, talking as if it was a normal thing to do.
“Stalker.”
Hyunjin went silent. Oh no, did I cross the line? Crap, what if he thinks I’m- A loud laugh interrupted his thoughts. Felix relaxed as he laughed along, influenced by the giggly yet sexy sound that came out of Hyunjin’s mouth.
“In my defense, you’re new to town and there’s no way you could have bought a house, so I assumed you rented your place. I saw you walking home so your house must be nearby plus the fact that you may or may not have your apartment key with its name printed on it and attached to your phone which you were holding the entire time.” Hyunjin rushed to say, before dramatically fake sobbing while holding a hand to his chest, “And I’ll have you know that I am very much offended that you think of me as a stalker, angel. Although I would have done such an act if it was for an awfully beautiful person, like you.”
“Maybe I am a stalker, but I don’t think anyone can resist a face like yours, angel.” Felix stiffened, heat rushing to his face as he responded by squeezing Hyunjin just a little tighter.
Felix spent the next twenty minutes of the ride listening to their surroundings and staring at the view. Sometimes Hyunjin, sometimes nature.
Felix loved nature. Not that the gang world had anything to do with it, since it was practically rotten.
“Lixie baby, you have to learn to find beauty in everything, even if it’s not something you like.”
“Why should I make an effort to find its beauty when I don’t even like it mama? Isn’t that just a waste of my energy?”
“I suppose it’s too early to be talking about it now, but you can always start with those that hold beauty naturally, baby.”
Felix shook his head, what was that?
“I should have listened when my mother was telling me about stranger danger,” Felix jokes, not noticing the way Hyunjin’s face darkens briefly before the familiar smile made its way back again.
“Well, could you blame me that I’m just a little too talented for my own good?” The taller smirked, starting the motor and going at an alarming speed towards the nearest traffic. Felix hugged Hyunjin’s back tightly, so much about stranger danger.
“So, where are we heading to, exactly?”
”It’s somewhere I used to go really often, it makes me feel peaceful.”
“Aren’t you introducing me to the town folks? Why are we going to wherever you’re bringing me to?”
” Look me in the eye and tell me that’s what you want to do spending a whole day with me.” Hyunjin smirked.
Felix rolled his eyes, scoffing, “fine.” They both knew that Felix didn’t really want to go meet new people and there was no way he would be able to look hyunjin in the eye in the middle of the road, unless he had a death wish.
It turned out that the place that Hyunjin wanted to bring them to was a field of fluffy green grass with daisy spreaded out everywhere. In the middle of it all, was a tree with a swing tied to one of its thicker branches. It was a living paradise.
“This is… beautiful.” Felix gasped.
”I loved the view, and not a lot of people knew about this place, so I suppose this could be considered our- my secret hideout.” Hyunjin hummed, walking towards the tree slowly before settling down on the soft grass.
Felix sat down beside him, still admiring the view.
they stayed in a comfortable silence for a while before felix broke it with a grin,
“I love this place, I feel like I’ve been here before, you know that feeling where you’ve actually never been to that place, but you feel connected to it? That’s how I’m feeling right now. Thanks for showing all of this to me, Jinnie.” Hyunjin flinched at the nickname, before smiling and nodding silently.
Everything was perfect, even though Felix Had only met Hyunjin for a day.
