Chapter 1: entry

Chapter Text

The audio crackled as the camera feed turned around to face a young teen; probably around 13 years old, with dirty blond hair poking out from under the hood of an oversized blue hoodie emblazoned with the logo for the superstar daycare. Their mismatched green and brown eyes and lopsided smile were determined, as if they had some plan that only they were privy to.

“Okay, here we go! I’m here at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzaplex. It is currently 10:35 PM, and there is like, no-one here,” they glance around, considering their previous statement for a moment “well, no humans here at least. Plenty of staff bots around.”

The camera was pulled in closer, and their voice quieted, “This is probably a bad idea, but they just keep coming up with excuses and stories about what happened, and I need actual answers. I'm gonna record what I find, and keep you updated.”

The video cut out.

The thumping of their backpack and the weight of their camera in their pocket were silent comforts as they pushed through the anxiety and the feeling that they weren’t supposed to be there. Though it could only help so much when the only humans they could see were staff, and the only other things roaming the neon-lit building were robots.

They hoped they could get their investigation done by the end of the night, they had told her that they were spending the night at a friend’s house after all.

They were heading to Bonnie bowl, it would probably be the best place to check, especially since the ride in Gator Golf was obviously a cover to tell the little kids. As they walked through to the elevators, they spotted several of the little wet-floor bots – they had always found the little guys adorable, and they gave a small smile when the small group of yellow robots turned to look at them as they passed.

As they entered the elevator, they clicked the button for the main atrium. they didn’t even need to look at their map – they came here almost every day after school and got a season’s pass for christmas every year, after all. After a short wait – and listening to a section of some Fazbear-licensed song that they had listened to probably a thousand times before – they stepped out of the elevator and into the Atrium.

The huge room was lined with tables, and huge holograms of the main band replayed clips from their performances, though they hardly glanced at it all before they walked straight to the escalators, and made their way to the third floor.

The area was usually empty, even when they visited during the day, especially since Bonnie disappeared. But they didn’t want any chance of someone spotting them, and Bonnie’s disappearance was precisely why they were there.
