Mother 3: Rose-Tinted Summer

Summary:

Crossposted from my WattPad. "Now that Porky's empire has fallen and world peace has been achieved, the children and teens of Tazmily have the entire summer to relax, have fun, and just be kids again! Soon Lucas, Claus, Nana, Fuel, Angie, and Rosella will be starting high school! But for now, they get to enjoy their summer to the fullest! Or so they thought..."

Chapter 1: New Beginnings

Chapter Text

It was a beautiful summer morning in Tazmily Village. The morning sun shone in the sky, and the sunflowers looked radiant! Ever since Porky's reign of terror ended, things worldwide were beginning to get better. Scars of the past were starting to heal, and everything was just so peaceful now.

And within this once again peaceful town were a pair of twins, who were currently sound asleep.

Claus was the first to wake up. He got dressed and ready for the day, putting on his usual outfit of a blue and yellow striped shirt, orange shorts, and blue sneakers. He then looked at Lucas, who was still sound asleep as per usual. He nudged him a bit.

"Oy, I'm gonna go next door to see if Rose is down to hang," Claus told him.

Lucas slowly got up.

"Wait for me?" He asked his brother.

Claus nodded.

"I'll be in the kitchen," Claus said as he left the room.

Lucas quickly got dressed and ready for the day. He put on his usual outfit of a red and yellow striped shirt, blue shorts, and red sneakers. He went into the kitchen, where Hinawa was making omelets for the two of them.

"Good morning, boys," Hinawa greeted as the twins sat down.

"Morning, Mom," the twins responded in unison.

Hinawa put an omelet on each of their plates before putting one on her plate.

Claus and Lucas happily ate their omelets. Once they were finished eating, Claus got up hastily.

"We're gonna go see Rose, bye mom!" Claus shouted excitedly as he rushed out the door.

"Later, Mom," Lucas said as he rushed to catch up to his brother.

"Boys, wait! Rosella's—not..." Hinawa said as her sons sprinted next door.

"What?! Soccer camp?!" Claus asked, his heart shattering as Bianca broke the news to him after answering the door.

"Oh yeah," Lucas said, frowning a bit. "I forgot she went to soccer camp this time of year."

How could they forget?! Rosella always goes to Winters for soccer camp this time of the summer.

Bianca smiled sympathetically at how crushed Claus and Lucas seemed to be.

"I assume you boys will put your summer plans on hold for two weeks?" She asked them.

"I guess," Claus answered, frowning. "I just really wanted to catch up, ya know. Especially now that we're finally dating."

Bianca smiled warmly.

"Once she gets back, I'm sure she'll be all excited to spend the rest of her summer with you and the others. Just bring her back by ten if you decide to go on any fun little dates. Ooh, and take pictures for me, pretty please—"

"Wait, hold the phone! 10?!" Claus asked in shock.

"You guys are teenagers now, I trust you," Bianca answered, winking.

This caused Claus to blush.

"I'm gonna go see if Nana's free to go to the beach," Lucas said, putting a hand on Claus's shoulder.

Claus nodded.

"I'll see ya later, bro," he said as his brother started to leave.

"Wait, before you go," Bianca said suddenly. "I have gifts for you three."

Lucas turned his head back around.

"Surprise," Bianca chirped as she brought out three cell phones. One was red, one was blue, and one was pink. "Your parents and I have been talking, and we've decided to get you four cell phones!"

"Wow, thank you, Mrs. Bianca," Lucas said, smiling a bit.

"Yeah, thanks, Mrs. Bianca," Claus piped up, putting a hand behind his neck.

As the twins left the Thornson manor, Claus went home.

As he walked through the front door, Hinawa noticed the dejected look on Claus's face.

"Soccer camp?" She asked him.

"Yeah," Claus answered.

"I tried to tell you before you rushed off so abruptly," Hinawa scolded him.

"Sorry, Mom," Claus said guiltily.

"By the way, where is Lucas?" Hinawa asked. "Didn't he go with you?"

"He left to go visit Nana and ask her on a date," Claus told her.

"Aww, good for him," Hinawa giggled. "Nana's brought him out of his shell, huh?"

Claus nodded.

"Props to him for gaining the courage."

Meanwhile, Lucas and Nana were at the beach, laying on a towel and enjoying each other's company.

"I can't believe Bianca was nice enough to give us all phones," Nana beamed, scrolling through her new phone. "Now we can communicate so much easier! The Thornsons are such sweetie pies! Rich and generous?! They're the best!"

Lucas smiled and nodded, resting his head in her lap soon after.

"Aww, you're such a snuggle bug," Nana said, blushing and giggling. "You're so cute~!"

Lucas blushes as Nana starts to run her hands through his hair.

"So what else is new, hm? Any other plans for the summer?"

Lucas tried to think, but then they were interrupted by a familiar voice.

"Yooo, Lucas, my man! What's up?" The voice said. It was Fuel! And he had Angie on his back!

"Hi guys," Angie greeted.

Fuel and Lucas fist-bumped as the former sat down next to the latter, setting Angie down in the process.

"It's cool if we hang here with you guys, right?" Angie asked Lucas and Nana.

Lucas and Nana looked at each other and nodded.

"Yeah, it's fine," Nana chirped. "The more the merrier!"

Angie smiled and sat in Fuel's lap.

"Where's Claus?" Fuel asked.

"He's at home brooding over Rose being at soccer camp," Lucas answered.

"Again?" Angie joked. "She goes every summer; you think he'd be used to it by now."

"In his defense, I also kinda forgot," Lucas admitted.

"I can't wait for her to get back, though," Nana said, smiling.

Angie, Fuel, and Lucas nodded in agreement.

"But enough about that for now, let's enjoy the sun and the sand," Fuel shouted as he rushed toward the water.

Angie laughed and followed Fuel into the water.

As Fuel and Angie splashed each other and played in the water, Lucas and Nana continued to snuggle on the towel.

Meanwhile, Pierre was picking Rosella up from her day at soccer camp.

"There's my star athlete," Pierre said as he saw his daughter drenched in sweat. Even her hair was a hot, sweaty mess.

Rosella smiled tiredly at her dad.

"Hi, Papa."

"Smells like you were working hard," Pierre joked. "Let's get you showered up, oui? I'm taking you somewhere special for dinner later."

Rosella nodded as she wobbled into the car. She then took out her phone and noticed a text from Claus.

Claus📲: You didn't tell me you were at soccer camp, dummy 😢

Rosella📲: I thought you knew 🥺🥺🥺

Claus📲: I kinda forgot 🥲

Rosella📲: Aww, you silly goose 💖

Claus's face was beet red after that exchange. About a minute of flustered panicking later, he got another notification on her phone.

Rosella📲: I miss you 💖

Claus smiled a bit and responded.

Claus📲: I miss you too. Come back home soon, got it?

Rosella giggled and kicked her feet as she responded.

Rosella📲: I'll be back in two weeks.

After Pierre and Rosella made it back to the Thornson vacation home, Rosella got out of the car and went up to her room to shower.

Rosella📲: I have to go shower. Papa's taking me out to dinner soon. Text me later?

Claus put his phone to his heart and smiled.

"Oh, Rose...I fucking love you...so much."

He then remembered that Lucas went to the beach with Nana and got up, grabbing some swim shorts, sunscreen, and a towel. He wasn't going to just mope around for the next two weeks just because his girl was gone for the time being! He's gonna go hang out with his brother and the rest of their friends and have a great time!

Claus📲: I'm gonna be out with Lucas and Nana, but I'll check my phone here and there.

Rosella📲: Have fun 💖

After Rosella had finished showering, she put on a white bomber jacket, a frilly pink dress, and a pair of black Mary Jane's with white frilly socks. She put her phone in her purse.

Pierre was waiting for her when she made it downstairs. He was also dressed a bit on the fancy side.

"There's my precious baby girl. Ready to go?" He asked.

Rosella smiled and nodded.

"Ready!"

And so Pierre and Rosella left to go get dinner together, eager to spend some much-needed daddy-daughter bonding time. But after everything that Porky did, who could blame them?

Claus, meanwhile, had just made it to the beach.

"Room for one more?" He asked as he approached the group.

"Claus," Lucas shouted ecstatically.

"Yeah, come sit," Fuel said, patting a spot by him and Angie.

Claus and Fuel fist-bumped as the former sat by the latter. This summer was only getting started!
