Chapter Text
The bar with dim crimson lights and the hundreds of liquor just being poured left and right towards the customers.
People danced and sang along to an almost deafening volume of the music. Meanwhile a young man was sitting waiting for someone almost too anxiously.
“Where’s that informant I was able to contact? He said he had some information about my target…” Delsin checked the area and looked around
“Hey you lady! You’re the informant right… I need information about that Ares guy!” Delsin waved at the girl dressed in red sitting down on one of the stools.
The woman dressed in red ran away “Help this man is trying to chase me.”
“I just want to talk about someone…” Delsin ran after her with a confused expression he thought. “What was that about??”
“Where do you think you’re going, young man? I’ve put a tracker on that woman.” Old Man grabbed Delsin’s hand tightly which made Delsin look at him unimpressed.
“Sorry! Old Man, not my type. I have to chase someone outside of the bar!” Delsin tried to yank his hand out of the Old Man’s Grasp and the older responded with annoyed expression.
“Not my type either. So why are you running after a woman?” Old Man pulled slowly out his gun Delsin looked shocked for a second and his face morphed into a stern expression.
Delsin tried to reasoned “She’s my informant… So can I kindly ask don’t pull out a gun in front of the bar?” Delsin still tried to yank his hand out.
“Young Man, why are you truly here?” The Old Man pointed his gun at Delsin’s head which made the younger man have an angry expression.
“I’m here for an informant that unluckily disappeared into the crowd because of you Old Man.” Delsin used his other hand to get the gun and stared into the Old Man’s eyes challengingly.
“What do you need from that woman then?” The Old Man pointed the gun at Delsin’s head which made the younger glared at him even more.
“I need that woman to give me information about Ares…. So can you please kindly lower or at least put your gun in its holster then?” Delsin stared intensely with one side of the mouth raised.
“I can’t do that unless you give me enough information about that Ares.” Old Man let go of Delsin’s hand with an impassive expression on his face which made Delsin breathe easily just a tiny bit. But his expression didn't change either.
“Old Man I can’t give you the information unless you… By the way, how do you know that Ares??” Delsin stared at the man's eyes, the older stared back with a slight attentiveness.
“We cannot do this forever, young man.” Old Man lowered his gun and Delsin released a breath he held for a long time.
“Ok, what do you want to do first, Old Man?” Delsin sighed and reluctantly agreed to the offer and the Old Man looked a bit pleased, but convinced enough to offer.
“Well it appears that we have a common target… So that will leave us with two things we work on together and names.” Old Man had put his gun in its holster.
“Why should I work for someone that wants to kill me at first sight… Maybe I should accept his offer for a bit of time…?” Delsin looked lost in thought and the Old Man watched him as he judged his expressions.
“Fine, but can you go first, Old Man?” Delsin cautiously accepted the handshake.
“My name is Aiden Pearce, what’s yours then?” The Old Man acknowledged and returned the handshake firmly. Delsin relaxed a bit.
“Delsin Rowe, so you have said just earlier that we have the same target?” Delsin looked around and an interested expression on his face flashed for a second.
“It appeared so, did you also have a commission for this same man?” Aiden stared into Delsin’s Eyes which made the younger satisfied.
“Yes, many of my followers commissioned me for this Ares guy and it specifically said a lot of controversy was happening to that man.” Delsin accepted the permission for the question.
“How many?” Aiden was curious but awaited for Delsin’s permission.
“About a thousand people commissioned me, why are you hunting down that Ares as well?” Delsin showed his phone and scrolled down to the polls section.
“Yes, my friend said that there were rumors that he has been killing his way up the ranks of politics.” Aiden looked at Delsin’s phone. The younger one got flabbergasted at that. But after a while showed a focused expression on his face.
“Oh? When did you find out about that?” Delsin waited for Aiden’s permission and Aiden thought to himself. “Is he too trustworthy of other people?”
“My friend sent me some emails about Ares and someone that he knows or a friend of his, what did you find out about him then?” Aiden examined his phone while Delsin looked at him with curiosity.
“He has nefarious/sus. dealings with someone… The informant that unluckily got away has some information about those dealings.” Delsin has light bulb appeared on top of his head
“Can you give me any of the dealings that man has had anything that is related?” Aiden got cigar from his back pocket and Delsin watched him intently
Delsin pondered to himself. “Dealings… I’ve just met this Old Man, maybe I could tell him a few tips.”
“We have to track down the informant/hacker for any information about those dealings” Aiden lit up his cigar with his lighter with one smooth click.
“Of course Old Man, it’s going to be hard to track down that informant that ran away, do you want to work together for now?” Delsin watched Aiden smoke absentmindedly.
Aiden put the cigar in his mouth and inhaled “This boy… He seemed like someone who wouldn't hurt anyone….”
