Summary:

Well, shit.
Gemini had a lot to say that about nowadays. They were currently the most wanted Astral alive, their secret - something only the two of them and Libra knew about- was out in the open, and they had no idea where they could go from here. Great Neptune, this was trouble.
However, something just may go right yet for them. And maybe, just maybe, they’d have a fighting chance against the claws of fate.

Notes:

Hiya! Just wanted to say I’m so grateful for the very few of you who commented on the last story in this series, and that I’m sorry updates will be few and far between for a while. That’s because I’m distancing myself from the shows, because in my opinion (and don’t you dare get mad at me for this) things are too complicated and overall stupid nowadays. So, sorry! But for my mental state above all-because these damn shows have been annoying me terribly with each new episode until I stopped watching two weeks ago- this series isn’t gonna last as long as I wanted it to and it’s gonna take a lot of time to complete at that. Thanks for the patience in advance though!

Chapter 1: The Next Step

Chapter Text

The book crashed into the smooth stone wall with a kind of satisfying ‘SMACK!’
Castor wasn’t normally one to throw anything, but he was still tearing himself apart for this entire mess, even if it had been two entire weeks since the incident. He and Pollux had split apart from each other shortly after they made it to the hideout they now resided in, along with Taurus and Lunar, and they hadn’t merged together again since. It was pointless, and besides that, Castor wouldn’t let Pollux-or anyone for that matter- get close enough to touch him with a five foot pole. If not for the cramped space, he’d probably keep much farther away than that even.
Pollux could kind of understand it, Castor had killed Leo, even if he hadn’t meant to. She could sense his fear of losing control again, and they both knew that it would probably be the reason he snapped again. Unfortunately, knowing this only made the fear grow, and Castor resorted to locking himself somewhere he couldn’t easily be reached, at least most of the time. Now though, he was just in one of the cave’s pieces, agitation rising as he wondered just what the hell they would do. They couldn’t just wait it out, astrals never forgot things easily, and they usually didn’t forgive either. They would find the group eventually anyway, so it’s not like that was an option in the first place.

Castor didn’t think any of it mattered anyway, now that the astrals knew about Castor not being one of them, even if the twins were pardoned he’d probably be locked up like an earthly creature he’d heard of called a dog. At best. So, they were stuck. And it was his fault. All this, just because he couldn’t handle seeing one person die. It shouldn’t have mattered after what Lunar did, should it? Yeah, maybe he held a sort of… fondness… for the animatronic, but Lunar had gone straight to the dark stars, the astral’s sworn enemies, at the smallest inconvenience! He deserved to die, that’s why the verdict was picked, right? Libra was the fairest among the astrals, so she wouldn’t have agreed with that if he didn’t deserve it, right? Right?

It was all just too much to focus on. Castor kicked a rock, hard. It didn’t hurt, at least not for him. Any other being, he guessed, would’ve injured their foot with how hard he kicked it. But all it did when he kicked it was fly off into the wall, cracking the stone with the force of which he kicked the damn thing. Castor sank to the floor quickly after that, his leather boots squeaking against the hard ground. He was dressed in something far from his normal attire, and so was Pollux, as the two had opted for more practical clothes. While Pollux had on black leggings, and what can only be described as a t-shirt under a gradient jacket, Castor wore dark colored jeans, a dark blue jacket and galaxy colored shirt, and the gloves he’d worn as Gemini. They were less easy to get caught in, and also more ambiguous than their old clothes, which literally showcased their stars. Hopefully, they had thought, this would make it harder for the others to spot them in a crowd, if it came to that.
Speaking of her, Castor was suddenly aware of Pollux’s presence as she came into the room. “What do you want?” He asked without looking up, as if she’d just go away if he didn’t acknowledge her presence more than that. He didn’t want to hurt anyone else. And he especially didn’t want to face his sister after breaking their promise. Except, she was here now, and if he knew anything about Pollux, she wouldn’t leave until she’d gotten whatever she wanted.
She seemed to fiddle around a little with the cuff of her jacket before answering. “I just wanted to see how you were doing.” She said, a bit worried at her brother’s mentality about this whole mess.
I’m fine.” He told her in a cold reply, even though that was a lie. He was certainly not fine. He was anything BUT fine. Yet he didn’t want to risk hurting his friends. The only one of the other three here that he couldn’t hurt would be Lunar, since they had the same stuff flowing through their body as well.
To Castor’s surprise, Pollux only responded with an ‘okay…’ and left the room. That certainly wasn’t like her, and it confused him beyond belief. Maybe she could feel the war he was having with himself, or perhaps she didn’t want to get hurt either. That was a terrible thought. His own sister, scared he’d hurt her? As soon as it occurred to him, it instantly made Castor feel worse than he already did, just because it was even an option. He sighed and simply stood there for a while, before opting to try and distract himself. That was at least better than standing here messing with himself. Maybe he could actually get his mind to shut up for once. Maybe.

———

As Pollux left the room, she knew she wouldn’t be able to get to her brother. Castor had been beating himself up about this for the entire time they’d been on this planet. Someone else had to talk with him. Maybe someone he couldn’t hurt. Like Lunar! They already had dark star power within them, so Castor shouldn’t be scared to hurt them, right?

Pollux knew that this was the answer. Castor was smart, he would know that he couldn’t hurt Lunar - easily, that is. So, it was settled. She ran off to find the little animatronic, and when she did, she would get them to talk with Castor. She had to. She was still a little ticked at them, but by now that had dissipated. Besides, even if she wouldn’t admit it, Pollux still loved Lunar. At least, as much as she could without having the true emotion to convey the feeling. Now though, this was for her brother. So she would do it. She’d do anything if it meant helping Castor. And that means anything.

Notes:

This is the first chapter of three, sorry that it’s so short but I don’t have a lot of motivation and I’m not even in this fandom anymore technically as stated before :/
