Solus’ harsh laugh was an absolute melody to Prima’s audials. He couldn’t help the cracking smile that it drew on his faceplates,”What, I’m serious, Sol! He said that to me in front of the entire city council!”
That just made her laugh harder. By Primus he’ll never grow tired of it.
She snorted beautifully and loudly, laying her hammer and newest bladed weapon on the anvil, her helm crest’s red flames sparking and turning a little green at its core with amusement,”Mega did not call you his pretty little cybercat in front of the council.” Her words were meant to convey one feeling but her tone offset it so completely it resulted in another. She believed him, after all it wouldn’t be the first time Megatronus had called either of them ridiculously endearing names in public.
Prima laughed with her and walked forward,”He did. Primus you should’ve seen the council’s faces, bluer than sapphire!” Solus wheezed, voice glitching from the unnatural action and an impossibly warm and soft affection bled from his spark into their sparkbond. The green in her flames grew as she received his affections, she shot them back at equal measure,”Really? Oh, I would’ve loved to see that.” She lamented.
Prima chuckled and wrapped his arms around her violet midsection and placed his crowned helm beside her. She hummed, habitually placing her servos over his and he softly swooned at the scratches and distortions he felt from her digits, the matching red fires of her forge leaving little marks on her, signs of her passion. Solus thunked her antennae-like finials against his winged ones and Prima began the memory transfer between their bond.
The purple Prime snickered, they were indeed bluer than sapphires from embarrassment, she could hear Prima’s startled laugh and Megatronus’ smug purr. Ah so that was what that bond-feeling was earlier. Solus pressed her derma to the white mech’s jaw,”You liked it, you dog.”
Prima huffed with a smile, knowing he was caught,”I did. Can you blame me though? Mega is just too adorable when he’s smug.” Solus intertwined their servos, white complimenting purple and inverse,”He is.”
They stood like that for a few kliks, basking in each other’s EM field and the glow of the sparkbond. A soft spike of curiosity poked them both and they laughed softly together,”Megatronus is going to come and see what we’re doing without him. Maybe he’ll brag about his success in embarrassing the council. Pretend you don’t know?”
“Of course,” she pulled away from him, hesitating for the briefest second at the coil of disappointment from her white clad bonded,”now, do you have a gem for me today? You always bring one when you visit me in my forge.”
Prima’s finials perked and flapped,”Yes! Here,” he reached into his subspace, a clear topaz with gold inclusions materialized his servo,” i found it in a stall that had offworld imports of a planet’s ‘useless gems’. The seller was more than happy to let me buy a few.”
He placed the topaz into her waiting servo and she held it up to the furnace’s light, the red flames beamed through the clear, uncut gem, the gold inside shimmering with reddish glitter from the firelight. An awed sound left her,”It’s beautiful… reminds me of you almost.” She brought the topaz close to her spark chamber,”I’ll cherish it.”
Prima smiled, she was familiar with his lovestruck expressions,”I know.”
The smell of burning iron reached their olfactories and both shared a fond, knowing look. Prima materialized another gem, this one layered with shining red-orange bands and charcoal black streaks.
Megatronus entered, dark wings held high in triumph and curiosity and smoke billowing tamely from his glowing vents. He and Prima chatted while Solus went to place her newest gem into her ever growing collection of trinkets. She turned to find Megatronus and Prima already having their usual play fight, tussling on the floor. Solus laughed, her fires pulsing with her.
Oh, she loved her sparkmates so much.
