Amia's home, front yard — 18.07
Shizuku arrived at the Akiyama residence only a little later than she had initially intended to. As she rang the doorbell, she took a moment to reflect on the events of the day—her practice with MORE MORE JUMP! went rather well; Minori was steadily improving her skills, and they knew what they were doing for their next stream. Currently on the forefront of her mind, however, was Amia. Sweet, cute, perceptive Amia. Shizuku didn't know much about the whole thing, just that Amia, at some point, realized that she was a girl and had chosen the name Mizuki to use publicly. Shizuku met her in late February when she was still with Cheerful*Days, and they quickly grew attached as they kept meeting up. Somewhere down the line, Shizuku realized that Mizuki was trans, and Mizuki knew.
Following that, Mizuki eventually came out to her with no small amount of nervousness and asked to be called Amia. Ironically, it was the same name that she had chosen for her Nightcord handle that she hadn't initially put much thought into. Shizuku easily accepted this, and they grew ever closer as Shizuku had her own problems with her coworkers in Cheerful*Days. Amia quickly presented herself as a shoulder to lean on for Shizuku when it started becoming too much. Amia stayed with her even as Shizuku resigned from her position as an idol, and that meant more to her than Amia could ever know. It helped to reaffirm in her mind that Amia wasn't just there because she was an idol, a notion that she realizes now to be rather stupid.
Her thoughts were brought to a halt as the front door to the Akiyama household swung open, and she was greeted by Akiyama Ayako, a tall and strong Japanese woman with black hair and brown eyes [3].
"Ah, Shizuku! Come in, come in!" Amia's mother said, excited. In the time since Amia and Shizuku met, they'd been over at each other's homes more times than they could count, so Shizuku and Ayako had had many opportunities to grow a bond close to what you'd expect between a mother and her daughter.
"Thank you, Ayako."
"Shii!"
As Shizuku entered the house, she was immediately accosted by 55 kilograms of flying pink gorl. Amia and Shizuku were, of course, as close as ever, to the point where Ayako often joked about having three daughters instead of two. Each joke always left both Shizuku and Amia as blushing, stuttering messes, but they never truly minded them. Of course, their constant clinging to each other never did them any services regarding those jokes.
"Hi, Amia," Shizuku laughed out beautifully, the sound of it making Amia's face heat up rapidly. "Are you doing alright, love?"
"Better after this afternoon. Thank you. I needed that," Amia mumbled into the crook of her neck.
"Of course, love. I'll always be there to help you when you need," she crooned, stroking Amia's hair. It was out of its usual ponytail, instead flowing freely down her back.
"Ah, Miss Hinomori." A tall man with blond hair, green eyes, and a wide stature entered the entrance hall. "It's good to see you again," he greeted, smiling.
"Hello, Mr. Akiyama," she returned lightly.
"Please, call me Ryōsuke." Shizuku and Mr. Akiyama were never as close as Shizuku and Ayako, even though they had their own sort of bond between them. Despite that, it still surprised Shizuku that Ryōsuke gave her his name.
"Uh, then call me Shizuku." Ryōsuke's smile became a little wider at that.
"I don't think I've ever thanked you for being there for Amia. I'm glad you managed to help her in a way that we couldn't."
"It's nothing. Amia also helped me with my own problems when I was also going through tough times. Besides, Amia is so important to me. The least I want to do for her is help her," she shared, glancing down at Amia. Each word made Amia's face flush more as she smiled and buried her face further into Shizuku. The sight of it made Shizuku's heart melt.
Ryōsuke smiled, seeing their bond. "I'm glad that Amia found someone she loves the way I love Ayako," he said, his eyes meeting Ayako's, her own eyes crinkling in fondness.
Ayako walked over and placed a brief kiss on Ryōsuke's cheek before she made her way to finish dinner preparations. "Dinner will be ready in about 5 minutes, so make yourself at home, Shizuku," Ayako called as she made her way to the kitchen.
Amia and Shizuku stood in each other's embrace for a short while. Ayako came back into the entrance hall looking for them, but when she saw her daughter comfortably sitting in Shizuku's embrace, she elected to give them a few more minutes before telling them dinner was ready.

After everyone had finished eating, it was about time for Ayako and Ryōsuke to leave for their movie date. The four of them stood in the entrance hall, Ayako and Ryōsuke both getting ready to leave.
"Alright, you two, we'll be leaving shortly, and we'll be back sometime around 22.30. Do you two need anything? And Shizuku, I can give you a ride home if your parents aren't able," Ayako offered.
"Oh no, I couldn't ask that of you!"
"Nonsense. I can't in my right mind let anyone, let alone a teenager, walk home alone by themself. I promise it's not a big deal," Ayako responded in turn.
Ryōsuke interjected, "I'd just take the offer, kid. She's a stubborn woman. How do you think she got me?"
"If I'm stubborn, that just makes you downright immovable, Ryō."
"Oh, I'm not that bad!" He laughed.
"You sure, Pops? You can be pretty unshakable when you have your mind set on something," Amia teased, her face seemingly set in a permanent smirk.
"Oh yeah, look at you all smug-like," he ribbed at her good-naturedly.
"Like you aren't, Amia?" Shizuku taunted.
"Hey, this isn't about me!" She shot back.
"Isn't it? I remember you being pretty adamant about the other idols in Cheerful*Days~"
"Am I the only one who remembers how much I kept trying to avoid you? You just weren't having it. And you were also very set on your opinion of Suzuna."
"Amia, that was a little bit different, considering the circumstances. And I'm still standing by what I said about Yayaita."
"See? You're just as stubborn as I am!"
"Love, you are far more—" the retort was cut off by a sudden belt of laughter from Ryōsuke.
"Only a couple months in, and you're already taking the piss out of each other! Ha!" Ayako joined in softly chuckling as well.
"Alright, I think that's enough for now; we do have somewhere to be," she said, walking towards the door, Ryōsuke quickly following.
"Yeah, yeah, we're heading out. Have a good night, you two," Ryōsuke bid.
"You too! Love you!"
And with that, Ayako and Ryōsuke left the house. As the car pulled out of the driveway, Amia turned to Shizuku.
"Soooo... Whaddya wanna do?"
They ended up cuddling together whilst watching Mulan.

"Mm?"
"Are you okay?"
"... Ask me again in a couple days."
"Are you worried about tomorrow?"
"... Yeah. Is it that obvious?"
"Only to me."
"Mm."

"Do you want me to walk you to school tomorrow, Amia? Or stay the night?"
"Yes, but I don't want you to stay because of me."
"I don't care. I want to be with you."
"... Can you walk me to school?"
"Of course."

"Thank you for being there for her again, Shizuku. We really appreciate it," Ryōsuke said.
"It's no problem."
...
"I worry for her, you know? For so long, she didn't talk to us much. She just caged herself up in her room and rarely came out of it, even for meals. I think her music group really helped, but there was still this... distance between us."
"I worry, too. I just don't want her to feel like she has to do this alone."
"Yeah. It was... mid-April, I think, when she first came to us for help. That wasn't long before you two became girlfriends, right?"
"Yeah. The 22nd of April was when we made it official."
"It was after that when she opened up with us. She started taking better care of herself. That first day, I think Ayako cried herself to sleep from relief. I was damn near bawling."
"If I may ask, have you talked about her doing night classes instead of day classes? I know that Ena does them. It might help to have her around, even if they won't be in the same class, and the night students probably don't know about those rumors."
"I think that we've thought about it briefly, but I don't think we truly considered that as a possibility. I'll definitely bring it up to her, even if she decides not to. As for the rumors, well..." Ryōsuke let out a sigh. "I wouldn't put much faith in that belief, even if only a few of the day class students know some night class students, they could very well have the same rumors circulating throughout the school."
"Yeah, you're right."
"Well, I won't hold you up anymore. You know where her bedroom is?"
"Yeah. Third down on the left."
"Yep. Alright, good night. Try not to think too much about everything regarding that, alright? You need your sleep, too."
"I'll try. Good night."

Shizuku exited the bathroom in her pale blue nightgown and glided down the hall to Amia's bedroom. She approached the door and gently knocked.
"It's me, love," she said quietly.
"The door's unlocked," came the soft reply.
She turned the door knob and gently opened the door. Amia was sitting on her bed, waiting.
"Hey," she said.
"Hey, love," Shizuku said as she walked over.
Amia scooted over to the right on the bed to make room for her and patted on the bed to her left, gesturing to Shizuku to sit. She did, and immediately grabbed Amia in a loving embrace. To Amia, it meant safety, comfort, and love. She breathed in Shizuku's scent, and she exhaled, expelling all of the tension that she didn't even realize she had.
"You're okay. We're okay," Shizuku crooned, gently stroking Amia's hair.
"Thank you for staying," Amia said with gratitude.
"Of course, love." She pulled away to look into Amia's eyes, her expression so soft and caring that it nearly made Amia burst into tears.
"I feel like I don't deserve this," she lamented.
"Why not?"
"I—I've been hiding this from everyone for so long."
"You don't have to bear your soul with every single person you come across. Ena, Kanade, and Mafuyu know that. Hiding yourself doesn't mean that you don't deserve to be loved. Suzuna was wrong about that."
"Even if I know that logically, my instincts just..." she trailed off.
"I know. I understand." Shizuku was so kind to her. She was so nice, and so patient, and, ironically, so observant.
Perhaps Shizuku just knew what she wanted, but regardless, she leaned in and kissed Amia, and Amia closed her eyes. It was sweet, and it was gentle, but no less full of the passion that each of their kisses was always full of. Amia could taste the cherry lip gloss that Shizuku always used. There was no tongue, but there didn't need to be. It was perfect, as it always was.
As Shizuku pulled away, and Amia's eyes fluttered open, Shizuku could see a shine in Amia's eyes that wasn't there before (even if it was just a trick of the light). She gently smiled. "We should probably go to sleep."
"Yeah. We should."
As they both lay down in Amia's bed and cuddled each other, Amia didn't want to close her eyes.
"It's okay. I'll still be here in the morning."
"How do you always know what I'm thinking? Where's the airheaded Shii that I know?" she joked, smiling.
Shizuku giggled. "She's taking a little break for right now."
Amia giggled in turn. "... Good night."
"Good night, love."
Amia closed her eyes, and finally, after so long, managed to have a peaceful night of sleep.
As Amia fell asleep, Shizuku found herself staring at Amia, a soft smile on her face. "I know you don't think you deserve it, Amia, but you do. You deserve all the love in the world, no matter how much about yourself you hide from it. I will make sure that you feel safe, that you aren't scared to be yourself, and I will make sure that you feel loved. I will love you, always, for the rest of time. This... is my promise to you," she said, a yawn breaking up her words. She gazed at Amia lovingly and, smiling, pressed a soft kiss to her forehead before closing her eyes and drifting off.
03.22, the next morning
Perhaps out of habit, Amia woke up very early, still cuddling Shizuku. She smiled, taking in her beauty, still flabbergasted as to how she managed to get such a good girlfriend. And then her bladder decided to make itself known. Groaning, she got up.
As she exited the bathroom, she decided to go get a glass of water. As she did so, again perhaps out of habit, she checked her phone.
