Work Text:
Jake had just finished unpacking his last box when he heard a low rumble, like thunder but without the usual warning of dark clouds. It shook the apartment slightly, making the coffee mugs rattle on the kitchen counter. He frowned, looking out the window, but the sky was clear—nothing to suggest a storm. Maybe it was just a truck passing by. He’d been hearing strange noises ever since he moved into this old building, so it didn’t seem that odd.
Still, when the rumble intensified and the whole room shook, Jake’s stomach dropped. The sound was deafening now, and the walls groaned under pressure. He grabbed his phone, ready to call the landlord and demand an explanation, but before he could dial, the rumbling reached a peak.
Boom!
The apartment door flew off its hinges with a crash, sending debris flying into the hallway. Jake yelped and ducked behind the couch, heart pounding. Then, a large object—almost like a ship, but not—tumbled through the doorway, coming to a screeching halt. It was like a metal disc, glimmering in strange, shifting colors that seemed to defy logic.
Jake blinked in shock, too stunned to react. For a moment, he could only stare at the wreckage. Then, the door to the ship slid open, and three figures stepped out.
The first one was tall, with sharp features and dark hair that fell across his forehead in soft waves. His skin had an almost ethereal glow, like moonlight on water. The second was similarly handsome, but his eyes were wide and alert, and his hair was styled in a messy, gravity-defying way that only added to his allure. The third one was the most striking—an almost unnaturally beautiful face, with piercing eyes and a calm, confident aura that made Jake’s heart skip a beat.
He wasn’t sure if he was imagining it, but they all seemed to be… glowing?
"Uh... what the hell?" Jake muttered to himself, his heart racing. He crawled slowly out from behind the couch, his eyes locked on the trio of strange men who were now observing him curiously. They didn’t look like they belonged in a spaceship—they looked like they belonged in some sort of fantasy movie or... an alien invasion.
"Hello?" Jake said, his voice squeaky, unsure of what to say next. Was he dreaming? Was he about to get abducted? He didn't even know how to react.
The first one, the tall one with the dark hair, looked down at him and smiled. It was a soft, charming smile that made Jake’s chest tighten in an unexpected way. "Are you alright, human?" he asked in perfect English, though his voice had a melodic, foreign cadence to it.
Jake blinked, still trying to make sense of what he was seeing. "Uh... yeah. Just a little shocked. You—you're not, um, from around here, are you?"
The second alien, the one with messy hair, chuckled. His voice was warm, and he tilted his head in a way that reminded Jake of a curious animal. "Nope," he said casually. "Not from around here. We crash-landed. This is not where we were supposed to be."
The third alien—who was so ridiculously handsome Jake had to pinch himself to make sure he wasn’t hallucinating—gave Jake a cool, appraising glance. His voice was calm but undeniably powerful. "We were supposed to land in a place called... The Kaa'thro Vortex," he said. "But clearly, that didn’t happen."
Jake’s mind was racing. "So, you’re—what, aliens? Like, real aliens?"
The three of them looked at each other and then back at him, each of them nodding slightly as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
"Yes," the first one said. "I am Heeseung." He bowed his head in a way that was somehow elegant, yet strange. "This is Jay," he pointed to the second one, who waved with a grin. "And Sunghoon." He gestured to the last one, who nodded in acknowledgement without a word.
Jake’s head was spinning. "Wait, wait... I’m sorry. I’m trying to wrap my head around this. Are you guys... staying here? In my apartment?"
"Well," Jay said, rubbing the back of his neck, "it’s kind of your fault, actually. You’ve got the perfect place for us to hide out." He glanced around the apartment, which was small but cozy. "And it’s not like we have anywhere else to go."
"Great," Jake muttered under his breath, thinking he might be dreaming. But his gut told him he wasn’t.
"We’re here to blend in and learn about your human world," Heeseung continued. "It’s just temporary, of course. Once we’ve figured things out, we’ll leave."
"Yeah, sure." Jake nodded, though he didn’t really believe any of this. "But, uh, can you at least—like—fix my door first?"
Sunghoon, who had been quiet up until now, stepped forward and waved a hand. The door immediately repaired itself, the splinters floating back into place, and within seconds, the frame was as good as new. Jake’s mouth dropped open.
"Whoa," he muttered.
"Apologies," Heeseung said with a slight smile. "We may not be great at blending in, but we’re good at fixing things."
"Yeah," Jay added with a grin, "we’re like... alien handymen."
Jake couldn’t help but laugh despite himself, but the sound caught in his throat as he looked at the three of them. He felt a strange warmth in his chest, and it wasn’t just from the weirdness of the situation.
A Few Days Later...
Living with three aliens wasn’t as bad as Jake had imagined—at least, not at first. Sure, there were the awkward moments when Heeseung tried to figure out how human bathrooms worked (Jake had to teach him how to use a toilet, which was as embarrassing as it sounds), and Jay had a tendency to stare at people from the window, trying to "study" human interaction in a way that made everyone around them uncomfortable.
But there were also moments that Jake couldn't ignore: the way Heeseung's voice made him feel like he was floating, how Jay’s infectious laugh could lift his spirits even when he was stressed, and how Sunghoon’s quiet confidence made Jake feel oddly protected.
It didn’t help that Jake was starting to feel something for them—something he shouldn’t. They weren’t human. They weren’t even from the same planet. But every time they smiled at him, or looked at him with those impossibly perfect eyes, Jake’s heart fluttered in his chest. It wasn’t just because they were alien; it was because they were undeniably attractive—and, to his surprise, they seemed to be growing fond of him too.
"Jake," Heeseung said one evening, his voice almost hesitant. He was sitting on the couch beside Jake, his warm presence filling the room. "We’ve been here a while now, and... well, I think we might have grown attached to you."
Jake’s breath hitched. "What do you mean?"
Jay, who had been perched on the windowsill, turned his head. "Yeah, we’ve been learning a lot about humans. And, uh, we’ve learned that sometimes, humans get attached to people too. Like... in a way that’s more than just friends."
Jake froze. Was he imagining this? Were they really hinting at what he thought they were?
Sunghoon, who had been silent for most of the conversation, finally spoke. "We want to stay, Jake. And we want to stay with you." His voice was steady, but his eyes held an emotion that Jake couldn’t quite place.
Jake’s pulse quickened. "You... want to stay with me?" His voice was barely a whisper.
Heeseung nodded, his expression softening. "Yes. We want to be with you, if you’ll have us."
A mix of emotions flooded Jake’s chest—excitement, fear, and an overwhelming sense of confusion. He knew he shouldn’t, that it was impossible, but the thought of them staying with him, of being with them... it felt right.
"I—" Jake hesitated, his voice trembling. "I don’t know how this is going to work. But... I think I might want that too."
And in that moment, surrounded by three glowing, handsome aliens, Jake couldn’t deny the pull he felt. He didn’t know what the future held, but he was starting to believe that it could be out of
A Few Months Later…
The apartment had become a cozy little sanctuary for Jake and the three aliens. It wasn’t quite normal, but it was theirs . They had built a life together—Jake, who had once been a lonely boy struggling with life in a new city, and Heeseung, Jay, and Sunghoon, three beings from another planet who had come crashing into his world. Over time, they had settled into an easy rhythm, and their relationship had evolved from an odd arrangement of roommates into something far more intimate.
Heeseung’s quiet, gentle nature had a way of making Jake feel safe. He was always the one to offer words of comfort, his voice a soft melody that could calm even the most chaotic of days. Jay was impulsive and playful, his energy contagious, always pulling Jake into spontaneous adventures. And Sunghoon—calm, composed, and protective—was the glue that held them all together, his steady presence always ensuring that everything ran smoothly, even in the most chaotic of situations.
Despite all of this, Jake had started to feel like the center of their world. They were always there—always attentive, always affectionate. They were constantly touching him, whether it was Heeseung’s hand brushing his when he passed by, Jay wrapping him up in spontaneous hugs, or Sunghoon's steady gaze that never let Jake feel alone.
Jake didn't mind. He liked the attention, liked the love that surrounded him, but sometimes, it felt overwhelming. Especially when their relationship seemed to blur the lines between being “just a group of friends” and something more. Still, Jake couldn't deny that he had fallen deeply in love with all three of them, in different, yet equally intense ways. And they, too, seemed to have developed feelings for him that went beyond the simple need for companionship.
But it wasn't always easy. As much as they all enjoyed their time together, they never lost sight of the reason they were on Earth in the first place—to escape their enemies, the other factions from their world who had sent them here. They still hadn't revealed the full extent of their pasts to Jake, but he had caught glimpses of their history—of the shadows they had been running from.
That all changed one evening while they were out buying groceries.
Grocery Store – A Random Encounter
Jake was pushing a cart down the aisle, sorting through cans of beans when he felt a sudden shift in the atmosphere. Heeseung, Jay, and Sunghoon had all scattered around the store to grab the things they needed. Heeseung was reading the back of some strange human snack bag, Jay was making a beeline for the candy aisle (as usual), and Sunghoon had wandered to the produce section, studying fruits like they were alien artifacts.
Jake picked up a box of cereal and turned to call out to them when he froze. There, near the entrance of the store, was a figure—a man, tall, broad-shouldered, with a cold, calculating expression. Jake's breath hitched in his chest as his eyes locked with the man’s. The hair on the back of his neck stood on end, and his pulse quickened. The man was staring directly at Heeseung, Jay, and Sunghoon.
Jake didn’t know how he knew, but he could feel it. This man wasn't just some ordinary shopper. He was dangerous. He was one of them. One of the enemies Heeseung, Jay, and Sunghoon had been running from.
"Jake, stay here," Sunghoon’s voice was low and urgent, as he suddenly appeared at Jake's side, his gaze scanning the man. The calm, controlled facade he usually wore had been replaced with something darker, sharper. "Don't move."
Jake barely had time to react before Heeseung and Jay were at their side, their faces tense. The man hadn’t moved yet, but his eyes narrowed as he locked onto the three aliens. For a split second, everything felt like it was holding its breath.
"Do you know him?" Jake whispered, his throat dry.
"We’ve... met," Heeseung said, his tone tight with restraint. "But not under good circumstances."
Before anyone could say more, the man took a slow, deliberate step forward. Heeseung’s eyes flicked toward Jake, his expression unreadable for a moment before he spoke to him in a soft, urgent whisper. "Go back to the car. Now."
Jake was about to protest, but Jay’s firm hand on his shoulder cut him off. "Jake," Jay said, his voice a mix of concern and warning. "Please. For now, just go."
Reluctantly, Jake turned and made his way to the exit. As he left, he couldn’t shake the feeling that things had just escalated, and his heart was pounding in his chest.
Back at the Apartment...
That evening, things felt off. The three aliens had returned to the apartment later than usual, and although they were visibly trying to keep things light, Jake could sense the tension in the air. Heeseung barely spoke, Jay’s usual cheerfulness was subdued, and Sunghoon was as unreadable as ever, but Jake could see the faint lines of worry beneath his calm facade.
By the time Jake was getting ready for bed, the mood in the apartment had shifted. Heeseung, Jay, and Sunghoon gathered around, their faces serious as they sat him down. The once light-hearted atmosphere was replaced with a heavy silence.
"We need to talk," Sunghoon began, his voice steady but filled with an unmistakable gravity. "That man you saw today… his name is Rhylen. He’s one of the people we’ve been running from."
Jake’s stomach dropped. "So, he’s—he’s not just some random guy?"
Jay shook his head. "No. Rhylen’s a high-ranking member of the faction that sent us here. He’s been hunting us ever since we escaped. The others are still out there, looking for us. And now… they know about you."
Heeseung reached out, gently brushing his fingers against Jake’s hand. "We’ll keep you safe, Jake. I promise. But you need to understand, they won’t stop until they have us—or you."
Jake’s heart was racing. "So, what happens now? What do we do?"
Sunghoon’s gaze hardened. "We prepare. We protect you. No more running."
The Morning After...
The next morning, the apartment was eerily quiet. Jake had awoken to find a piece of paper on the kitchen counter, with a single line scrawled across it:
“Jake has been taken. The coordinates are on the back.”
Jake’s heart skipped a beat as he turned the paper over and saw a series of numbers—coordinates. His stomach dropped. This wasn’t just a threat. This was real.
"We have to go now," Heeseung said, his voice low and full of barely contained fury. His usual calm was gone, replaced by an urgency that Jake had never seen in him before.
Jay's eyes blazed with anger, his fists clenched at his sides. "Whoever has him won’t know what hit them."
Sunghoon was already moving, his movements sharp and efficient. "Stay close, Jake. We’re going to get him back."
The Base – Jake’s Captivity
When they arrived at the location from the coordinates, the feeling of dread intensified. The place was dark, cold, and desolate, a crumbling, underground facility that reeked of neglect. The three aliens moved like shadows, silent and deadly, their focus only on one thing: finding Jake.
When they found him—tied up and blindfolded in a cold, concrete cell, his body bruised and beaten, tears staining his face—something inside them snapped. The sight of him, vulnerable and hurt, made them see red.
Rhylen and his men were no match for them.
Heeseung, Jay, and Sunghoon tore through the base with ruthless precision. Heeseung’s calm demeanor turned into sheer fury as he ripped through the guards, his eyes glowing with an otherworldly power. Jay was a whirlwind, knocking out anyone in his path with a combination of strength and speed. Sunghoon, always the tactician, directed their movements with military precision, ensuring every enemy was neutralized before they could react.
They found Rhylen in the control room, watching them through the security cameras, a smug smile on his face.
"You think you can protect him?" Rhylen sneered.
But before he could react, Heeseung’s fist collided with his face with a sickening thud, and the fight was over. Rhylen crumpled to the ground, unconscious, his plans unraveling in a matter of seconds.
Jake was still crying when they reached him. Sunghoon immediately kneeled beside him, his hands gentle as he untied the ropes binding Jake’s wrists. Jay cupped Jake’s face in his hands, wiping away his tears, and Heeseung wrapped his arms around him, pulling him into a tight, protective embrace.
"We’ve got you," Heeseung whispered, his voice breaking. "We’ll never let anyone hurt you again."
Back at the Apartment
The four of them returned home, exhausted but alive. Jake was safe, and that was all that mattered. As the night fell, they all collapsed into a pile on the couch, their bodies entwined as they finally let themselves relax.
Jake, still shaken by what had happened, curled up against Heeseung’s chest, feeling his heart race with the proximity. Jay was nuzzling into his neck, whispering soft words of affection, while Sunghoon pressed his body close, offering warmth and security.
As they drifted off to sleep, tangled in each other’s arms, Jake realized something. Their bond, their love—it wasn’t just something that had grown over time. It had become something essential, something they couldn’t live without.
And as they all slept peacefully, Jake knew that no matter what dangers they faced, they would face them together.
Aftermath of Jake’s Kidnapping
The days following Jake’s harrowing experience at the enemy base were a blur of recovery and intense emotions. Heeseung, Jay, and Sunghoon became even more protective of Jake than before, to the point where it felt like they never let him out of their sight. While Jake understood their need to keep him safe, it started to feel like he was being smothered—like the walls of the apartment were closing in around him.
Every little action, every word spoken, felt loaded with concern. They watched his every move. Heeseung’s soft eyes never seemed to leave Jake, always scanning him for any sign of distress. Jay would stay close, too close, always making sure Jake was within arm’s reach. And Sunghoon, usually so calm and collected, had taken to constantly checking up on Jake, making sure he was okay, as if Jake might suddenly vanish into thin air.
Jake’s heart ached for them. He knew they were just trying to protect him, but at the same time, it felt as if they were treating him like a fragile object. It was hard to adjust to the overwhelming attention, but despite the tension, he couldn’t deny how much their love meant to him. It was comforting, in a way—just not always in the way he wanted it to be.
A Trip to the Market – Jake’s First Step Toward Independence
One afternoon, Jake decided he needed to do something on his own. He couldn’t stay holed up in the apartment forever. He had to reclaim some sense of normalcy, even if it was just something as simple as going to the market to grab a few things for dinner.
He tried to sneak out without alerting anyone, but as he reached the front door, he heard footsteps behind him.
"Jake, where are you going?" Heeseung’s voice, low and gentle but laced with concern, made Jake freeze in place.
Turning slowly, Jake gave him a sheepish smile. "Just going to grab a few things. I promise I’ll be quick."
Heeseung, dressed in his usual simple yet perfectly put-together style, took a step closer, his eyes scanning Jake’s face for any signs of distress. "Jake," he began softly, "you can’t go alone. Not after everything—"
"I’m fine, Heeseung," Jake interrupted, trying to sound more confident than he felt. "It’s just the market. I’ll be fine."
But even as he said it, Heeseung’s expression darkened. The concern in his eyes deepened, and for a moment, Jake thought he might argue further.
"Let me go with you," Heeseung said finally, his voice soft but firm.
Before Jake could protest, Jay appeared at the doorway, his eyes wide as he took in the conversation. "What’s going on? You’re going out?" he asked, clearly alarmed. "We can go with you. We’ll be quick."
Jake bit back a frustrated sigh. "Guys, I just want to go to the market. It’s fine. You don’t need to follow me around all the time."
At that, Sunghoon walked in from the other room, his brow furrowed. "Jake," he said, his voice gentle but stern, "we’re not treating you like a prisoner. But after what happened, we can’t let you go alone. It’s not safe."
Jake’s chest tightened as he met Sunghoon’s steady gaze. "I just need some space, Sunghoon. I’m not fragile. I can take care of myself."
The room fell into an uncomfortable silence, the tension thick enough to cut with a knife. Heeseung’s expression softened, and he took a step forward, his hand gently brushing Jake’s. "We know you’re strong, Jake," Heeseung said quietly. "But we need to keep you safe. You mean everything to us. Please understand."
Jake looked between all three of them—Heeseung’s earnest gaze, Jay’s worried smile, and Sunghoon’s calm, unspoken determination. It was clear they weren’t going to let him go alone.
With a resigned sigh, Jake relented. "Alright, alright. You can come with me. But no more hovering, okay?"
A Simple Walk Turns Into a Concern-Filled Adventure
As they walked through the market, Jake couldn’t help but feel like he was the center of attention, not just from the three of them, but from every other person who glanced in their direction. Heeseung, Jay, and Sunghoon were practically hovering . Heeseung walked so close to Jake that their shoulders brushed every few steps. Jay was constantly looking around, scanning the area as if expecting danger to leap out from every corner. Sunghoon’s gaze was fixed on Jake, but it never wavered, not even for a moment.
"I’m not going to disappear, you know," Jake muttered under his breath, half amused and half exasperated.
Jay shot him a grin, though it was a little strained. "You have no idea how hard it is to not hover. This place is dangerous. We can’t take any chances."
As they made their way to the produce section, Jake grabbed a few items from the shelves, but Heeseung was right next to him, leaning in too close, his hand brushing against Jake’s arm as he picked up a bag of apples. The closeness was overwhelming. Heeseung was always aware of Jake’s movements, and it felt like a constant reminder of the danger they were trying to protect him from.
"Jake," Heeseung said softly, his voice just above a whisper, "can I get this for you?" He picked up a can of beans, holding it out like it was something fragile.
Jake chuckled, though it was a little strained. "Heeseung, I’m capable of picking out beans myself."
But Heeseung didn’t seem to hear him. His gaze was focused on the can, and his fingers brushed against Jake’s hand as he placed the item in the cart.
"I just want to make sure you’re okay," Heeseung said quietly. "That’s all."
Jake’s heart softened at the words, and he smiled, though it was bittersweet. "I know. I appreciate it. But sometimes I just need a little space, you know?"
A Surprise Turn of Events – The Unexpected Threat
The next day, Jake woke up to an empty apartment. Heeseung, Jay, and Sunghoon had gone out to “handle something,” as they’d put it, leaving him with a rare moment of solitude. He had spent most of the morning trying to relax and clear his mind, but the worry from the last few days kept creeping in.
Jake decided to go for a walk, hoping some fresh air would help. The city was busy as usual, bustling with life. He walked aimlessly down the street, trying to lose himself in the crowd, but even then, he felt the weight of the world on his shoulders. He missed feeling normal . He missed just being Jake, without the constant watchful eyes of his three alien companions.
But as he turned down a quieter street, a chill ran down his spine. There, in the alley ahead, stood a figure. A man. Jake’s breath caught in his throat when he recognized the face. It was Rhylen—the same man who had been in charge of the base where Jake had been held.
Before Jake could react, Rhylen stepped forward, his expression cold and calculating. "Well, well," he sneered. "It seems you’ve gotten a little too comfortable, human."
Jake froze, his heart racing in his chest. Where are they?
Suddenly, a blur of movement caught Jake’s eye. Heeseung, Jay, and Sunghoon appeared out of nowhere, surrounding Jake in a protective circle. They had tracked him down, not seconds too late.
"Heeseung, no—" Jake started, but Heeseung immediately stepped in front of him, his eyes blazing with fury.
"You shouldn’t have come near him," Heeseung’s voice was icy, dripping with anger.
Rhylen smirked, clearly unfazed. "You think you can protect him? He’s just a human."
Jay moved quickly, his fists clenched, but Sunghoon held him back. "Let us handle this," Sunghoon said, his voice controlled. "This time, it’s not just about Jake."
With a sudden movement, Heeseung was on Rhylen, his energy exploding in a surge of power. Jay joined in, moving like a shadow, while Sunghoon used his tactical precision to quickly subdue any others lurking in the background. The battle was fast, brutal, and over before Jake could even comprehend what had happened.
When the dust settled, Rhylen was knocked out cold on the ground, and the danger had passed—at least for now.
Back at the Apartment – The Night Jake’s World Changes Again
That night, after everything calmed down, the four of them returned home. Jake was shaken, his chest tight with anxiety, but Heeseung, Jay, and Sunghoon didn’t leave him for a second. They practically surrounded him the moment they entered the apartment, their arms wrapped around him, pulling him close.
"I’m so sorry," Heeseung whispered, his voice thick with emotion. "We should’ve been there sooner."
"You’re safe now," Sunghoon added softly, his usual calm demeanor back in full force. "We won’t let anyone take you again."
Jake closed his eyes, feeling the warmth of their embrace, the safety they provided. It was overwhelming, but in the best possible way.
But just as he began to relax, something unexpected happened. Jake’s phone buzzed from the table. He reached for it, frowning as he saw an unknown number flashing across the screen. Without thinking, he answered it.
"Jake," a familiar voice said from the other end. Rhylen's voice. "This isn't over. You may have won today, but we’re coming for you. All of you."
Jake’s blood ran cold, and his eyes locked with Heeseung, Jay, and Sunghoon.
"It’s not over," Jake whispered. "It’s not over."
But this time, he wasn’t alone. And together, they would face whatever came next.
A Quiet Before the Storm
The days that followed Rhylen's call were tense. The quiet that had descended on the apartment felt fragile, as though the universe itself were holding its breath. Jake could sense it, the simmering anxiety in the air that his three alien companions tried so hard to mask. It was no longer just about keeping him safe—it was about keeping their entire world intact.
Heeseung, Jay, and Sunghoon barely left his side. Every time Jake went to the kitchen to grab a glass of water, they were there, always too close, always watching. They tried to act normal, but the tension was palpable. They'd always been affectionate, but now their touch was a little more urgent, their eyes a little more vigilant.
Jake had known they'd been on edge before, but this was different. It was like they were walking on a razor’s edge, every sound outside the apartment making them stiffen, every movement sending them into a state of alert.
Jake hated feeling like a prisoner. He hated that they were trying so hard to protect him from a danger he couldn’t even fully understand. But, at the same time, he knew they were doing it out of love. They were terrified—not just of losing him, but of the horrors they’d faced in their past that they never fully spoke about.
The Unseen Threat
A few days after Rhylen's call, the apartment's atmosphere grew even more suffocating. Heeseung and Jay had become even more protective, but Sunghoon, usually calm and rational, was visibly on edge. His composure, always so immaculate, now seemed strained, his shoulders tense whenever he walked into a room.
The worst part? They weren’t telling Jake everything. They’d started speaking in hushed tones when they thought he wasn’t listening, discussing plans, strategies, and possible escape routes. It was clear they were preparing for something bigger. But what? Jake couldn’t help but feel like he was being kept in the dark.
One evening, Jake couldn’t stand it anymore. As he sat on the couch, trying to distract himself by watching a movie, he caught the sound of Jay and Sunghoon speaking in low voices near the kitchen. They were too far away for Jake to hear their exact words, but the tone was unmistakable— serious . Heeseung was nowhere to be found, which only added to the unease.
Something’s happening. They’re planning something.
Feeling a mix of frustration and curiosity, Jake set the remote down, rising to his feet. He crossed the room quietly, trying to approach the kitchen without them noticing. But as soon as he peeked around the corner, he was caught.
"Jake." Sunghoon’s voice was soft but firm. "You shouldn’t be up. You need rest."
"I’m not a kid," Jake shot back, though his words lacked the usual bite. His chest tightened, realizing he had been caught eavesdropping. "What are you two talking about?"
Jay looked at him, then at Sunghoon, and the older alien sighed, rubbing his temples. "It’s nothing, Jake. You need to take it easy."
Jake’s gaze hardened. "You’ve been saying that for days. But I’m not stupid, Sunghoon. Something’s going on, and I want to know what it is."
Sunghoon didn’t immediately answer. Instead, he exchanged a quick look with Jay, who had been pacing restlessly. "You’re not a kid," Sunghoon said quietly, stepping toward Jake. "But you are our responsibility. And there’s something you don’t fully understand yet. It’s not just about keeping you safe from Rhylen—it’s about keeping you safe from them ."
Jake’s heart skipped a beat. "Them? Who are you talking about?"
Before Sunghoon could respond, Heeseung appeared, stepping into the room with an expression that said everything. "We didn’t want to burden you with this yet, Jake," Heeseung said, his voice strained but gentle. "But now we have no choice."
Jay stopped pacing, his eyes locked onto Jake’s. "Jake, we’ve been running from a faction of our own people for years. You think it’s just Rhylen? No. There’s an entire network of them, and they’re closing in on us. They’ve been tracking us since we landed here, and now they know about you. You’re not just a part of our lives anymore, Jake. You’re a part of their mission, too. They’ll do anything to get you."
Jake's mind spun with the weight of his words. Their people? He had always known that the boys weren’t from Earth, but he hadn’t realized how much of a target they had been carrying around. "What... what are you saying? I’m involved in this now? I don’t want to be—"
"It’s too late," Sunghoon interrupted, stepping forward to place a hand on Jake’s shoulder. "They already know about you. They’ve already put you on their radar. We can’t hide you forever."
Jake’s stomach churned. "But why me? What do they want with me ?"
Heeseung’s eyes softened with an unmistakable sadness. "Because you’re the only one who matters to us now. And that makes you a threat to them."
The First Warning
The following days were a blur. The tension reached a boiling point as Heeseung, Jay, and Sunghoon took every precaution. They fortified the apartment as best they could, installing extra locks on doors and windows, setting up defensive systems that were beyond anything Jake could have imagined. Sunghoon spent hours researching ways to hide their traces, while Jay focused on the security system, making sure the apartment would be impenetrable.
Despite their efforts, the constant fear of an attack loomed over them. It wasn’t just the boys’ protectiveness—it was the palpable anxiety that hung in the air like smoke. Jake knew they were doing everything they could, but it still wasn’t enough. And every night, when the lights were out and he tried to fall asleep, it felt like the shadows were growing just a little closer.
Then, it happened.
One evening, as they were sitting down for a quiet dinner, the front doorbell rang. It was an innocent sound. But to Heeseung, Jay, and Sunghoon, it might as well have been a bomb going off. They froze, all of them.
Jake’s stomach lurched as Heeseung’s face went white. "No one knows we’re here," Heeseung murmured, his voice tight. "No one should know we’re here."
Jay moved instantly, his hand shooting out to grasp Jake’s arm, pulling him out of his seat. "Stay low. Don’t move," Jay hissed under his breath.
Sunghoon was already at the door, peeking through the peephole. His face remained unreadable, but Jake saw the tense way his muscles locked. "It’s him," Sunghoon said softly. "Rhylen."
The doorbell rang again, this time with more insistence. A voice followed, low and cold: "I know you’re in there. Open up, or I’ll make you."
Jake’s heart slammed against his ribcage. "What do we do?" he whispered frantically. "We can’t just leave him out there."
Heeseung stepped forward, his expression hardening into something fierce. "Stay here. We will handle this."
The Confrontation – Rhylen’s Final Move
They didn’t waste time. Heeseung, Jay, and Sunghoon moved with such precision that it almost felt like a choreographed dance. The three aliens worked together as one unit, communicating without words, anticipating each other’s movements.
Heeseung reached into a drawer and pulled out a small, metallic device. "We need to move quickly," he said, his voice low. "Once we engage, they’ll come for us. We’ll only have a few minutes."
Jake was shaking. He had never felt so exposed. "I—I can’t stay here."
"You don’t have a choice," Sunghoon said firmly, his voice soft but unyielding. "We’ll protect you, Jake. We’ve got this."
Heeseung looked at him one last time. "Stay inside. Do not open the door. Do not engage with Rhylen. Trust us."
As the boys moved into position, Jake retreated to the farthest corner of the apartment, the heavy feeling of helplessness crawling up his throat. He wasn’t even sure if he wanted to know what was about to happen, but there was no turning back now.
The door exploded open, and Rhylen stepped inside, his cold smile lighting up the darkened hallway. "Did you really think you could run forever?" he said, his voice dripping with mockery. He was flanked by two other aliens, their eyes glowing with a dangerous hunger.
But before Rhylen could take another step, Heeseung was in front of him, moving so fast that Jake barely saw him. "You should never have come here," Heeseung growled, his eyes burning with fury.
Jay lunged next, his movements a blur of speed, knocking one of Rhylen’s men off balance. Sunghoon was right behind them, his calm demeanor shifting into cold calculation. "Get back, Jake," Sunghoon called, and Jake flinched at the coldness in his voice. He’d never heard Sunghoon sound like this before.
Jake, feeling more helpless than ever, crouched behind the couch, his heart in his throat as the sounds of the struggle grew louder. It was over in moments—violent, swift, and brutal. The enemies were down, incapacitated by the strength and power of the three aliens.
When it was finally over, Jake could barely catch his breath. Heeseung, Jay, and Sunghoon returned to him, their faces worn but resolute.
"Jake," Heeseung said softly, kneeling in front of him, his eyes full of worry. "Are you okay?"
Jake looked at the three of them—at the bruises on their bodies, at the dangerous glint in their eyes—and he realized something.
He was never going to be normal again. But in this strange, chaotic world, he was loved in a way that was beyond anything he had ever imagined.
And maybe, just maybe, he was okay with that.
Surprise Twist – A New Beginning
Later that night, after the dust had settled, Jake stood on the balcony, looking out over the city. The stars were bright in the sky, distant and cold, but somehow beautiful. He’d never felt so conflicted before.
Then, from behind him, he heard a voice.
"Jake," Sunghoon said, his tone unusually gentle. "We need to talk."
Jake turned, his heart thumping in his chest. "What’s going on, Sunghoon?"
There was a flicker in Sunghoon’s eyes, a quiet nervousness that wasn’t typical for him. "We’re not just hiding from Rhylen and his people, Jake. There’s something more. A prophecy. A future we’re all bound to."
Jake frowned. "A prophecy? What are you talking about?"
Sunghoon stepped closer, his voice quiet and serious. "It’s you, Jake. You’re part of it. This isn’t just about us. This is about you. We’re not just here to protect you. You’re the key."
Jake’s head spun as the implications of his words sank in.
Before he could ask anything further, the sound of the door behind them opened, and Heeseung and Jay entered, both wearing similar expressions of resolve. The prophecy wasn’t just a tale—it was real. And Jake was the center of it all.
The universe wasn’t just waiting for them—it was waiting for him.
And everything was about to change again.
The Weight of Prophecy
The world seemed to hold its breath after Sunghoon’s revelation. Jake’s mind reeled from the shock of it, and the words echoed in his ears like a distant drumbeat. You’re the key.
He turned to face Sunghoon, trying to process the gravity of what had just been said. "What do you mean, 'I’m the key'? What prophecy are you talking about?"
Heeseung and Jay joined them on the balcony, their expressions serious, their eyes holding something Jake had never seen before: uncertainty. They were always so confident, so self-assured, but now... now they seemed almost fragile, like they were treading on unfamiliar ground.
Sunghoon stepped forward, his calm demeanor in stark contrast to the storm that had suddenly whipped through Jake’s mind. He didn’t speak immediately. Instead, he glanced at Heeseung and Jay, who nodded, as if confirming something silently between them.
“We didn’t want you to know,” Heeseung said quietly, his voice softer than Jake had ever heard it. “We didn’t want to burden you with it, not after everything you’ve already been through. But now that it’s becoming clear, we can’t hide it anymore.”
Jake felt the weight of their words settle on him like an avalanche. “But why me?” he whispered, almost to himself. “I’m just a human. I don’t... I don’t even understand what’s happening.”
Jay stepped forward, his usual playfulness replaced by a rare seriousness. “You’re not just any human, Jake. We thought it was just about us—about us finding refuge on this planet. But it’s always been about you. Your connection to us, your ability to understand us... It’s part of something much bigger.”
“Bigger than what?” Jake asked, trying to piece together the puzzle that was quickly slipping through his fingers.
“A prophecy,” Sunghoon said again, his voice unwavering, but his eyes filled with something dark—something ancient. “The prophecy of the Chosen One. The one who will bridge the gap between our worlds and bring balance to the universe.”
Heeseung’s jaw clenched, and Jake caught a glimpse of something in his eyes—fear. It was rare to see Heeseung afraid, and it only made Jake’s stomach twist in knots. He couldn’t deny it any longer: the weight of the world was on their shoulders, and it was all because of him.
The Prophecy
The story came out in bits and pieces, the three of them working together to explain a history that Jake could barely comprehend.
Their people—their planet —had been torn apart by war. The factions that had ruled the galaxy were in conflict for centuries, each vying for dominance, each creating chaos and destruction wherever they went. But there was a belief, an ancient legend, that one day, the line between the worlds would blur. A human, born on Earth, would be the one to end the war and restore peace to the galaxy.
Jake was that human.
The Chosen One.
But it wasn’t just any human. Jake was different. His connection to Heeseung, Jay, and Sunghoon—his bond with them—was not a coincidence. It was written in the stars, in the old texts of the alien worlds that the boys had read growing up. Somehow, in a way they couldn’t fully explain, their bond had awakened something inside Jake. His humanity made him the only one capable of bridging the divide between their war-torn galaxy and the peaceful future they all longed for.
And now, with Rhylen’s group closing in on them, it seemed like their time had come.
“It’s not just about protecting you, Jake,” Jay said, his voice low and serious. “It’s about us preparing you to face what’s coming. We didn’t know if we’d ever have to tell you this, but the truth is, we’ve been running from these factions for a long time. And now they know about you. They know you’re the one. They’ll stop at nothing to control you.”
Jake’s breath hitched in his throat. The one . It sounded surreal, like something out of a fantasy book, but the fear in the eyes of the three boys told him it was anything but fantasy.
Sunghoon, always the calmest of the three, leaned forward, his gaze steady. “The factions will come for you, Jake. The moment they realize what you can do, they’ll do everything in their power to seize you. They’ll try to bend you to their will, use you as a weapon. We can’t let that happen.”
Jake swallowed hard. He didn’t know how to process all this. A prophecy ? A galactic war? The key to saving an entire universe? It felt like his whole world had just been turned upside down.
He shook his head. “But I’m just—just a guy. I don’t know anything about this. How could I possibly...?”
“You’re not just a guy, Jake,” Heeseung said gently, stepping closer to him. “You are the Chosen One. And you’ve already started to change. When we first met, we knew something was different about you. We felt it, even though you didn’t know it yet. You have the potential to shift the balance. You just need to learn how to harness it.”
Jake looked at them, his mind racing. “How do I learn to ‘harness it’?” He asked, a bitter laugh escaping his lips. “I don’t even know where to begin.”
“Not alone,” Sunghoon said quietly. “You’ll never be alone, Jake. We’ll help you. We’ve trained for this our whole lives, but now... now it’s up to you.”
Training Begins
The next few weeks felt like a blur. They didn’t just protect Jake—they trained him. Every morning, Heeseung, Jay, and Sunghoon took turns teaching him the basics of their world: their language, their technology, their ways of fighting.
The first thing they started with was the bond. They explained that Jake’s connection to them wasn’t just emotional. It was physical , too. The more he learned to control his own emotions, the more he could unlock the latent powers within him—the abilities that were slowly awakening as his connection with them deepened.
“I can’t believe I’m actually learning to do this,” Jake muttered one day as Sunghoon led him through a series of breathing exercises. “I can barely control myself, let alone... this .”
Sunghoon chuckled softly, a rare sound from him. “You’re doing well. The key is patience. Trust yourself.”
Jay, ever the optimist, grinned from the doorway. “Besides, you’ve got us. No way we’re letting you mess this up.”
As the days passed, Jake began to feel something change. There were moments when he could almost feel the power pulsing in the air around him, when his thoughts and emotions aligned perfectly with his companions. They’d teach him to harness their abilities—not as a copy, but in a way that felt natural, as though his connection to them was unlocking something that had always been there.
But as the training grew more intense, so did the threats. Rhylen and his forces were relentless. They attacked in waves, sending spies, soldiers, and mercenaries to track them down. Jake could feel the pressure mounting. Each time they fought back, each time they destroyed another enemy, he knew it wasn’t just about survival anymore—it was about something bigger.
He wasn’t just fighting to protect himself, or even his three alien boyfriends. He was fighting for the future of everything. The weight of it was suffocating, but the love they all shared kept him grounded.
The First Major Battle
It was inevitable. The day came when Rhylen and his forces would finally corner them. The apartment was no longer safe, and they had to move quickly.
The plan was simple: evacuate, fight back, and head to a secure location where they could regroup. But as the night wore on, Jake knew things wouldn’t be as easy as they hoped. They had made it to the underground tunnels beneath the city, but that’s when the attack came—swift, vicious, and unexpected.
Jake’s heart raced as Heeseung, Jay, and Sunghoon took their positions around him, their energy crackling in the air. Their training had prepared him for this moment, but nothing could have prepared him for the intensity of the battle. His mind went blank as the first wave of enemies descended upon them, blasters raised.
“Stay close!” Jay shouted, grabbing Jake’s arm and pulling him toward cover. “You’re with me, Jake. Don’t leave my side.”
The alien soldiers were relentless, but so were the boys. The air seemed to hum with energy as they fought back, their movements like lightning—precise and deadly. Jake could feel the power surging inside him, something new awakening with each breath. He felt it before he even saw it—a burst of energy, a pulse of light that surged from his chest. It was instinct.
He closed his eyes for just a moment, and when he opened them, a strange blue aura surrounded his body. The enemies around them froze, their eyes wide in confusion.
“Jake...?” Sunghoon called, his voice barely audible over the chaos.
Jake didn’t know how he did it, but suddenly, the enemies began to fall back. With a wave of his hand, their weapons were knocked from their hands, disarmed without a single touch. He felt powerful, like he was one with the world, one with the three aliens standing beside him.
“We’re not done yet,” Heeseung said, his voice filled with awe and something else—pride. “This is just the beginning.”
A New Beginning
As the battle raged on and they finally drove back Rhylen’s forces, Jake realized something deep within himself. It wasn’t just about protecting his alien lovers or stopping an invasion. It was about them —about the bond they shared, the power of their love, and the responsibility they carried together.
And, in that moment, Jake knew: he wasn’t just the Chosen One. He was part of something bigger. Something worth fighting for.
The journey ahead would be long, and the stakes were higher than he could have ever imagined. But with Heeseung, Jay, and Sunghoon by his side, Jake was ready.
For the first time since Rhylen’s call, Jake felt something he hadn’t felt in a long time—hope.
The Twist: A New Threat
Just as they thought they had won, just as the four of them were ready to celebrate their victory, a voice echoed in the distance, cold and mocking.
“You think this is over?”
Rhylen’s voice. But this time, it wasn’t just a threat.
A ship hovered overhead—a massive, gleaming vessel—far larger than anything they had ever seen before. Jake’s eyes widened as the lights on the ship flared, revealing a dark figure standing at the helm.
It was a figure that none of them recognized.
A figure whose face was cloaked in shadows, but whose eyes... burned with the same hunger they had seen in Rhylen.
The true leader of the enemy forces. And this time, they weren’t just after Jake.
They were after all of them .
The Final Battle: The Storm Descends
The tension in the air was so thick it felt like it could be sliced with a knife. The city around them had fallen silent, save for the ominous hum of the alien ship overhead—a sleek, dark vessel that cast a shadow across the ground like an omen. Rhylen’s forces had retreated, but the true danger was only beginning.
“Stay close, Jake,” Heeseung whispered urgently, his hand gripping Jake’s wrist with a strength that almost hurt. “No matter what happens, you’re with us. We protect you. Understand?”
Jake nodded, his throat tight, his heart pounding. But he couldn’t shake the feeling that something inside him was awakening, something deep within him that he didn’t fully understand but felt with every pulse of his heartbeat. He’d never felt so alive—so powerful—yet so afraid.
Sunghoon’s eyes were sharp, scanning the horizon with an intensity Jake had never seen from him before. His calm, collected exterior had been replaced with a raw urgency, and Jake could feel the energy surging off of him, like the calm before a storm.
“We’ve come too far to fail now,” Jay said, his voice low and steady. “You’re not just the Chosen One anymore, Jake. You’re one of us.”
The weight of those words settled on Jake’s shoulders. He wasn’t just a human, a mere bystander caught in a war between alien forces. He was their chosen, their equal, and together, they could face whatever was coming.
And then, it came.
From the belly of the dark ship, a beam of light descended, slicing through the sky like a blade. It hit the ground with an explosion of fire and smoke that shook the earth beneath their feet. Jake barely had time to react before the ground trembled again—more of Rhylen’s forces poured from the ship, their weapons raised and ready.
Heeseung, Jay, and Sunghoon sprang into action, their movements a blur of power and precision. They were fast—too fast for the human eye to track—blasting through the enemy ranks with an effortless grace that left Jake breathless. But even as they took down wave after wave of attackers, Jake could feel it: the true danger wasn’t the soldiers. It was the force behind them, the dark energy that coiled in the air like a living thing. Rhylen’s true master had arrived.
A figure cloaked in shadow appeared at the top of the steps of the ship. His presence was suffocating—an oppressive, chilling aura that made the hair on the back of Jake’s neck stand up. He wore a black armor that seemed to absorb the light around him, his eyes glowing with an unnatural red hue. He wasn’t human, but he wasn’t like any alien Jake had seen before. There was something ancient about him, something primal.
The Leader.
And when his voice cut through the air, it was like a thousand voices speaking in unison, a force of pure malice.
“Jake,” he intoned, his voice low and mocking. “You’ve been a thorn in my side for far too long. You cannot escape what is destined. The universe will bow to its rightful ruler.”
Jake’s chest tightened at the sound of his voice. “Who... who are you?”
The figure’s lips curled into a cruel smile. “I am Krayn. The true ruler of your galaxy. And now, you will kneel before me.”
Jake felt a wave of nausea wash over him. But then, something deep within him stirred. A sensation unlike anything he had ever experienced. It was as though his very soul resonated with the energy in the air, vibrating with a power that was both his own and something greater.
It’s time, a voice whispered in his mind. It’s time to unleash it.
He didn’t know how he knew, but in that moment, he felt connected to something beyond himself. The power within him surged—his whole body glowed , the energy pulsating around him like a living aura, shifting and swirling with the force of a thousand storms.
The battle raged on around him, but Jake felt himself standing in the eye of the storm, untouched, untouchable. He was more than a part of this war. He was its center.
Without thinking, Jake raised his hand, his eyes glowing with an intense blue light. The moment his fingers twitched, the energy around him bent to his will. The ground trembled as a shockwave of power erupted from him, sending enemies flying in all directions. It was like the world itself responded to his call—every molecule in the air, every inch of the earth beneath him, thrummed with a power that was otherworldly.
Heeseung, Jay, and Sunghoon were knocked back by the force of it, but they quickly recovered, staring at Jake with awe. They had never seen anything like this before.
“Jake!” Heeseung shouted, his voice strained with disbelief. “Control it! Focus!”
But Jake didn’t need to focus. He was beyond that now. Every fear, every doubt, every limitation that had once bound him was gone. He could feel the universe itself bending to his will. He could feel the pulse of the cosmos.
Krayn’s laugh echoed through the battlefield, a cruel, hollow sound. “You think you can defeat me with such power? You’re nothing but a child playing at being a god!”
Jake’s eyes narrowed. “I’m not a child.”
With a wave of his hand, the ground beneath Krayn’s feet cracked and split open, sending him tumbling into the abyss below. The explosion of energy sent a shockwave through the battlefield, and for a moment, the world seemed to stop.
Krayn’s figure emerged from the smoke, his armor damaged, but his eyes burning with fury. “You will kneel before me,” he hissed, his voice laced with venom.
But Jake didn’t flinch. He stepped forward, his body glowing like a supernova, and with a simple motion, he raised his hand again.
The world trembled.
The air shimmered with energy as a swirling vortex of light formed around him. Jake was not just fighting with power. He was becoming it.
A devastating beam of pure energy shot from his fingertips, colliding with Krayn’s chest with such force that it shattered the air itself. The explosion that followed was blinding, the shockwave knocking everything within miles to the ground.
When the light faded and the smoke cleared, Krayn was gone—nothing left but scorched earth where his body had once stood.
The battlefield fell silent. The last of the enemy soldiers scattered, too afraid to face the force they had unwittingly unleashed.
Jake stood alone in the center of the destruction, his chest heaving with the weight of the battle. His body was drenched in sweat, and his mind was a haze of power, adrenaline, and disbelief.
But then, he felt them. Heeseung, Jay, and Sunghoon were at his side, their hands on him, steadying him, grounding him. Their touch was all he needed to feel himself again.
“You did it,” Sunghoon said, his voice filled with wonder.
“You were incredible,” Jay added, a grin tugging at his lips despite the chaos around them.
Heeseung stepped forward, his expression serious but full of admiration. “Jake… you are the true power of this universe. You’re not just our Chosen One. You’re our partner. You’ve saved us all.”
Jake’s heart swelled at their words, but as he looked at them, he knew this wasn’t over. The war had been won, but the battle within him—within all of them—was just beginning. The journey they’d taken together had forged a bond that transcended everything else.
The Aftermath: A New Beginning
The days after the battle were a blur of recovery. The city, though scarred by the devastation, began to rebuild. The factions that had torn their galaxy apart fell into disarray with Krayn’s death. And for the first time in a long time, there was peace. Real peace.
Jake, Heeseung, Jay, and Sunghoon found a place to call home—an apartment that was small but comfortable, tucked away from the chaos of the world. It was a quiet life now, one where they didn’t have to look over their shoulders anymore. The future was uncertain, but for the first time in months, they were able to breathe.
One evening, as the sun set, casting a warm golden glow over the city, the four of them stood on the balcony of their new home. The sky above them was clear, the stars beginning to twinkle in the vast expanse. Jake felt a sense of peace he had never known before.
Jay leaned against the railing, his hand brushing against Jake’s. “It’s hard to believe it’s over,” he said softly. “After everything, we finally have peace.”
Sunghoon smiled, but there was something bittersweet in his expression. “It’s not just peace. It’s freedom . We’ve earned it.”
Heeseung looked at Jake, his expression softening. “And we’ve earned each other. This... this is everything we fought for.”
Jake looked at them—really looked at them—for the first time since the battle. Heeseung, Jay, and Sunghoon had been by his side through everything. Through the chaos, the fear, the pain. And now, they were all here, together, at this moment.
A moment of calm.
Jake’s heart beat faster as Heeseung stepped closer, his eyes locking with his. Slowly, he reached out, lifting Jake’s chin with his fingers. The others stood quietly, watching, sensing the moment unfolding.
“I’m not going anywhere,” Heeseung whispered.
Jake’s breath caught in his throat. The world seemed to slow down, the distant hum of the city fading into the background as Heeseung leaned in.
And then, Heeseung kissed him.
It wasn’t just a kiss—it was a promise. A promise of everything they had fought for. A promise of love. A promise of a future that was finally theirs.
Jake kissed him back, his heart swelling as he felt the warmth of Heeseung’s lips, the heat of Jay’s hand on his back, the quiet comfort of Sunghoon’s presence beside him.
They had fought for this moment, and now, they had it. A love that was as boundless as the universe itself.
And in that kiss, Jake knew—this was only the beginning.
That night, they rested in bed, enjoying eachothers company in a comfortable, still silence. The soft hum of the night wrapped around them like a cocoon, the moonlight spilling gently through the curtains, casting silver beams across the room. The four of them were sprawled on the couch, the air heavy with warmth, the faint scent of candles and lavender lingering in the room. Jake, tucked between the others, could feel the comforting weight of their presence, each of them pressing in slightly closer, a silent but undeniable promise of safety.
It had been a long day—one filled with rehearsals, pressures, and fleeting moments of doubt that Jake had barely managed to push aside. But now, in the quiet of the room, with the soft music playing in the background and the comfort of his friends surrounding him, it was as if the world had paused for just a moment. And in that moment, Jake felt an overwhelming sense of peace he hadn't realized he craved until now.
Heeseung, as usual, was the first to sense his unease. With a knowing glance, he shifted slightly to draw Jake closer. His arm slid behind Jake’s shoulders, pulling him into the warmth of his chest. Jake didn’t resist, allowing himself to sink into Heeseung's embrace, his head resting on his shoulder. Heeseung’s presence was grounding, his calm energy like a balm to Jake's rattled nerves.
"You're safe here," Heeseung murmured softly, his voice low and reassuring. "We’ve got you."
Jay, ever the protector, leaned over from the other side, his hand lightly brushing through Jake's hair. He always had a way of making Jake feel seen, his touch gentle but firm, as if he could sense every shadow of doubt Jake held. "No matter what happens," Jay said, his voice almost a whisper, "you’re not alone. Not ever."
Jake’s eyes fluttered shut at their words, a quiet lump rising in his throat. The weight of their reassurance, the depth of their care—it was overwhelming. There had always been a subtle tension inside him, an unspoken fear that he wasn’t enough, that one day, they might leave. But here, in this moment, surrounded by the three people who had come to mean everything to him, that fear began to melt away.
Sunghoon, who had been silently observing, let out a soft exhale, as if he, too, could feel the tension slowly leaving Jake’s body. He slid his hand down to rest lightly on Jake’s leg, a silent, grounding presence, his touch steady and comforting. Sunghoon had never been the most overt with his affection, but his gestures spoke volumes. They all did.
Jake opened his eyes, lifting his head just slightly to look up at them. There was a soft glow in the room, the moonlight reflecting off Heeseung’s hair, Jay’s eyes glimmering with a quiet intensity, and Sunghoon’s serene expression—a sight that made Jake’s heart flutter, but also settle.
Heeseung’s gaze met his, his lips curving into a gentle smile. "You can relax now," he said, his thumb brushing softly over Jake's arm. "We’re here. Always."
Jake swallowed, feeling a warmth spread through him. He couldn’t quite find the words to express what he felt, but the pressure in his chest eased, and for once, he felt like he didn’t have to carry everything alone.
And then, without thinking, Jake shifted slightly, just enough to close the space between him and Heeseung. His hand brushed against Heeseung’s, and the touch lingered, hesitant. Heeseung didn’t pull away. In fact, his fingers curled around Jake’s gently, almost as if giving him permission to lean closer.
It was then that the air seemed to thicken, the quietness of the room now filled with an unspoken understanding. Jake’s heart raced in his chest as his eyes flickered between the three of them. They were all looking at him now, their gazes soft but intense, as though waiting for something unspoken to happen.
Jay, noticing the shift, let out a small chuckle. "You know," he said with a teasing smile, "it’s okay if you’re ready to kiss him, you know."
Sunghoon shot Jay a glance, but there was no annoyance in his expression. Just a quiet acceptance, a silent acknowledgment of the moment unfolding. "If that’s what you want," he said softly, his voice low, as though he were speaking more to himself than to anyone else.
Jake’s breath caught in his throat. This wasn’t just about the kiss. It was about everything that had led them here—the quiet support, the understanding that ran deeper than words, the years of unspoken feelings that had slowly, imperceptibly, blossomed between them.
Heeseung’s thumb stroked the back of Jake’s hand, his eyes gentle. "You don’t have to be scared," he whispered. "We’re here for you. Every part of you."
Jake nodded slowly, feeling the warmth of his feelings—feelings he hadn’t allowed himself to fully acknowledge until now. Without thinking, he leaned in, his lips brushing against Heeseung for the briefest of moments.
It was soft. A quiet connection. But it was more than just a kiss—it was a promise, a declaration that they would be here for each other, no matter what.
The moment lingered in the air, as if the world had paused around them. But Jake wasn’t alone anymore. Not with Heeseung’s hand in his, not with Jay’s reassuring presence, and not with Sunghoon’s steady warmth beside him.
He pulled back just slightly, but Heeseung’s gaze never wavered, the connection between them still palpable. He smiled softly, a warmth in his eyes that made Jake’s heart swell.
"See?" Heeseung murmured. "We’ll always be here."
Jake smiled, his heart full, surrounded by the people he loved and who loved him in return. And in that moment, Jake knew that no matter what the future held, he wouldn’t have to face it alone. He had them. And that was enough.
