Work Text:

Logan had always questioned his sexuality for as long as he could remember. Even as a kid, he had never really understood the appeal of traditional relationships. He wasn’t repulsed by the idea, but he just didn’t feel the same pull that others seemed to. This made him wonder if he even could feel nonplatonic attraction at all. He eventually convinced himself that maybe he was just aromantic and asexual, something that felt safer to accept than to continue searching for something he couldn’t fully understand.

That all changed when he was accepted into Disventure Camp.

When Logan stepped off the bus, the camp was exactly as chaotic and lively as he expected. The hosts greeted him with exaggerated smiles and quick introductions, directing him to his designated area with his team. He felt the weight of nervous excitement settle in his stomach as he followed the group. His team members seemed friendly, and he quickly made small talk with them-asking about their hobbies, what they were good at, and what brought them to the camp. For the first time in a while, Logan felt like he was connecting with people in a way that was easy, natural.

But then, as he was making his way through the group, he stopped short when he saw someone sitting on a small log. The breeze tousled the person's hair, and the scene seemed almost surreal in its calmness. Logan blinked and felt something stir in his chest as he observed the stranger.

"Hiya there! The name's Logan! What's yours?" he called out, skipping toward him, trying to sound casual.

When the figure turned to meet his gaze, Logan’s breath caught. He couldn’t look away. The guy had sunglasses perched on his nose, hiding his eyes, but Logan could still feel their weight on him. His fluffy brown hair was perfectly messy, his magenta shirt stood out like a beacon, and the tattoos curling on his arms were so cool-each one telling a story Logan couldn't wait to hear. But more than that, it was the way this person carried himself, calm and unbothered, as if the world itself had to make room for him. Logan realized he had been staring a little too long.

"Ah, you okay?" the person asked, breaking Logan from his trance.

"O-Oh, yeah! I'm Log-gan..." Logan stammered, his words tumbling out as he awkwardly shifted his gaze to the side, cheeks burning in embarrassment.

The guy chuckled softly, and Logan’s heart fluttered just a little more.

"Hello, Logan. I’m Alessio," the guy said, standing up from the log and offering a hand.

Logan hesitated for a second, his hand trembling slightly as he reached out to shake it. But once they made contact, something like electricity ran through him. He kept his hand in Alessio’s for a moment too long, lost in the warmth and the softness of his palm. It wasn’t until he realized he was still holding on that he jerked his hand back, embarrassed.

"Well, I-I’m going to help out the team now!! Bye-bye!!!" Logan grinned nervously and darted off, his heart racing as he tried to ignore the twinge of something he couldn’t name.

Alessio, watching him go, smiled to himself and sat back down on the log, an amused glint in his eyes. He had a feeling something was going to change here, something important.

---

As the days went on, the camp began to reveal its true nature-fun but demanding, full of highs and lows as contestants were eliminated one by one. Logan found himself spending more time with Alessio. They worked together during challenges, shared stories about their lives back home, and even spent quiet moments talking late into the night. With every interaction, Logan felt an unfamiliar warmth bubbling inside him. The feeling was unsettling, like he was on the edge of something he couldn’t quite grasp.

Was this a crush? Or something else? Was he just fooling himself?

One night, when most of the campers were already asleep, Logan couldn’t shake the feeling gnawing at him. He was standing near the dock, staring at the still waters beneath the moonlight, when one of his teammates, Jade, emerged from the confessional booth and spotted him.

"You called me, right?" Jade asked, her voice soft with curiosity.

Logan let out a breath he didn’t realize he had been holding. He didn’t want to burden her, but he had to tell someone. His heart was too full of confusion, too full of feelings he didn’t understand.

"Yes. I need to talk to you about something," he said, his voice shaky. "I've been feeling these emotions for so long, and it's hard to describe, but I don’t want you to think I’m confessing to you or anything-"

"Is this about Alessio?" Jade asked, a knowing smile tugging at her lips.

Logan froze. His mind raced, wondering how she could have figured it out so quickly. "How did you-"

"Logan, it’s so obvious. Every time you two talk, your whole face lights up. And you get this look in your eyes when he's near. Come on, it's not hard to tell," she said with a playful wink.

Logan’s cheeks burned as he looked away, his heart thundering in his chest.

"I... I think I might have a crush on him," he admitted, his voice small. "But I’ve been questioning my sexuality my whole life, and I thought I’d never feel this way about anyone. So now that I do... it’s overwhelming, and I’m scared. I don’t want to ruin our friendship, Jade." His gaze dropped to the water below, reflecting the moon’s glow. "I want to tell him, but I’m just too scared."

Jade’s expression softened, and she gently placed a hand on his back, rubbing it comfortingly. "I get it, Logan. I was in your shoes back in high school, questioning everything, wondering if I could feel that way too. But you’ll never know unless you try. I believe in you."

Logan wiped his eyes quickly, trying to stop the tears that threatened to fall. Jade’s words settled in his chest like a warm hug, and for the first time, he felt the slightest flicker of hope.

"Tell him when you think the time is right," Jade whispered, her voice steady and kind.

"Okay..." Logan whispered, a tear slipping down his cheek as he hugged her tightly.

---

Two more days went by, and it was nighttime again. Logan emerged from the communal bathroom wearing his soft, sky-blue pajamas. The cool night air nipped at his skin as he strolled toward his team's trailer. As he approached, he noticed Alessio leaning casually against the side, his figure bathed in the soft glow of the moonlight. Alessio’s face was unreadable, his eyes distant, lost in thought. Logan offered a quick, awkward wave before slipping into the trailer. He closed the door quietly, unaware of the storm of contemplation swirling in Alessio’s mind.

Inside, Logan bounced onto his bed, the mattress creaking softly beneath him. He stretched out, preparing to sleep, but his mind betrayed him. A flash of memory surfaced-Jade’s voice from that pivotal conversation: "Tell him when you believe it's the right time." The words echoed, sharp and clear. He glanced at the window and noticed the campgrounds were eerily still. Only a few trailers glowed faintly in the distance, and Alessio was on his mind again. Logan's heart quickened. This thought, this feeling, was no longer something he could ignore.

He shot up from the bed with newfound determination, his pulse pounding in his ears. Without hesitation, Logan sprinted out the trailer door, his sudden departure drawing curious looks from a few teammates still awake.

Stepping into the cool night, he looked around, half-expecting to see Alessio still leaning there, but the spot was empty. Panic began to creep in, but Logan didn’t let it settle. His feet carried him through the darkened campgrounds, weaving between trees and cabins. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, he spotted Alessio at the dock, his silhouette illuminated by the starlit sky. Alessio stood still, gazing upward as if searching for answers in the vast expanse above.

Logan approached quietly, his steps light against the wooden planks. When he reached the edge, he leaned against the railing, mirroring Alessio’s stance.

“Hey, Alessio,” Logan said, his voice soft but carrying across the stillness of the night.

Alessio turned slightly, a small, warm smile breaking his usually serious demeanor. “Hello, Logan,” he replied, his gaze drifting back to the stars.

Silence hung between them, thick and meaningful. Logan's mind raced, words swirling in chaotic disarray. Just as he opened his mouth to speak, Alessio broke the quiet.

“Logan, can I be honest with you?” Alessio began, his voice low and steady. “For a while now, I’ve felt like I haven’t been truly living. I see people around me laughing, thriving, feeling, but... all I’ve really had is painting. It’s the only thing that’s ever brought me joy. Joining this camp was supposed to change that. Honestly, I thought I’d regret it. But...”

He paused, turning his head to meet Logan’s wide, curious eyes. The words seemed to catch in Alessio’s throat before he continued, his tone softening.

“When I met you, it was different. You’ve cared about me in a way no one else ever has. Even with your awkwardness-which I find... adorable-you’ve been there. You’ve made the bad days bearable.”

Alessio’s gaze fell to the water, his cheeks tinted a faint pink. Logan, heart pounding, noticed and blushed too.

“And somehow,” Alessio added, “you never asked for anything in return.”

He stood upright, turning fully to face Logan. Slowly, tentatively, Alessio reached out, taking Logan’s hands in his own. Their gazes locked, and for a moment, the world around them faded. All that existed was the boy in front of them-the one who made their hearts ache in the best way.

“Logan, I...” Alessio’s voice wavered.

But Logan didn’t let him finish. In one impulsive, heart-driven move, Logan closed the distance, pressing his lips gently against Alessio’s.

Alessio stiffened for a brief second, startled, but quickly melted into the kiss, his eyes fluttering shut. Logan’s hands rested on Alessio’s shoulders, grounding him, while Alessio’s hands slid to Logan’s waist, holding him steady. The kiss was tender, unspoken words conveyed in a way that no confession could capture.

When they finally pulled away, Logan stumbled back, his face beet-red. “I-I’m sorry! Was that okay? I mean, was it-”

Alessio chuckled softly, his warm eyes meeting Logan’s. “Logan, that was... perfect.”

Logan, still flustered, rubbed the back of his neck. “Oh. Okay, good. Uh, wow. So... are we... you know, together now?”

“Yes,” Alessio replied with a laugh, his smile broadening. “We are."

Logan blinked, his heart swelling. Is this real?

Their moment was interrupted by a rustling in the nearby bushes. Both boys turned sharply to see Jade sprawled on the ground, her face split into a mischievous grin.

“Jade?! Were you spying on us?” Logan exclaimed, his voice jumping an octave.

“Nooo... haha!” Jade giggled, scrambling up and running back toward the trailers.

Logan groaned, burying his face in his hands. “I can’t believe her. I knew I shouldn’t have told her anything.”

Alessio chuckled, placing a hand on Logan’s shoulder. “Well, looks like she was as invested in this as we were.”

Logan sighed, but his lips quirked into a small smile. “Maybe. She did tell me to find the right time.”

“Well,” Alessio teased, “looks like I beat you to it.”

“Hey! I kissed you first! That totally counts!”

Alessio laughed, his voice warm and carefree. “Sure, whatever you say.”

He took Logan’s hand, intertwining their fingers. Together, they walked back toward the trailer, the night feeling a little brighter.

---

As they walked back to the trailer, Logan couldn’t stop glancing at Alessio, his heart swelling with a joy he’d never felt before. Is this real? he wondered, his chest warm and fluttering. The cool night breeze felt softer, the stars above seemed brighter, and every step they took together felt surreal. Jade’s words echoed in his mind: "Tell him when you believe it's the right time." Thank God he listened to her. He squeezed Alessio’s hand gently, and Alessio glanced over, his smile soft and reassuring.

When they reached the trailer, Logan hesitated for a moment at the door, reluctant to let go of Alessio’s hand. Alessio gave him a gentle nudge, breaking the silence with a light chuckle. “We should sleep. Challenge day tomorrow.”

Inside, the trailer was dim and quiet, the other teammates soundly asleep. Logan climbed into his bed, his body still buzzing from everything that had happened. The mattress creaked as he shifted, pulling the blanket over himself. Alessio lingered nearby for a moment, watching Logan settle in. As Logan closed his eyes, he felt a presence near him, causing his eyelids to flutter open. Alessio was standing over him, his expression soft and slightly hesitant.

“May I?” Alessio asked, his voice low, almost a whisper.

Logan blinked in confusion at first, but realization quickly dawned on him. His cheeks flushed, but he nodded, lifting the edge of the blanket. Alessio slid under the covers, careful not to disturb Logan too much. It took them a few moments of awkward shifting, legs bumping and bodies adjusting, before they found a position that worked. Alessio ended up with an arm draped lightly over Logan, their faces only inches apart.

Logan stared at him, heart pounding. “Goodnight, Alessio,” he whispered, his voice trembling slightly.

“Goodnight, love,” Alessio replied softly, his breath warm against Logan’s cheek.

Logan’s heart soared at the term of endearment. He closed his eyes, a smile tugging at his lips as Alessio’s steady breathing lulled him into the most peaceful sleep he’d had in years.

The next morning, the soft glow of dawn crept through the thin curtains of the trailer. Ted, always the early riser, groggily got up from his bed, rubbing his eyes. He shuffled toward the door, but something caught his attention. He froze mid-step and slowly turned back, squinting at the sight before him.

There, tangled in a sleepy embrace, were Logan and Alessio. Logan’s head rested lightly against Alessio’s chest, Alessio’s arm protectively curled around Logan’s waist. The peaceful expressions on their faces told Ted everything he needed to know.

Ted stood there for a moment, blinking in disbelief. “This damn queer show,” he muttered under his breath before shaking his head and heading outside, deciding he needed fresh air more than anything else to deal with what he’d just seen.
