Chapter Text
Jonathan rather enjoys the festivities, but bless, I don’t think he’s able to pull off the scary look - even if he does stand at six foot five, he only comes across as a big puppy dog smeared in face paint or draped in loo roll…
Erina has access to a plethora of home grown pumpkins on her sprawling estate, and Jonathan graciously helps her with the carving like the gentleman he is - his always end up scruffier than hers, somehow.
Jonathan attempts to wrangle Danny into some sort of a costume, be it a quaint little scarecrow or even a spooky skeleton - but Danny just gets them all torn and ripped, too distracted barking at bats and chasing his own tail. Much like his owner, he’s too much of a loveable bundle of joy to give anyone a real fright!
It’s Dio’s night, exceptionally so; he uses this time to blend in with the public, getting a sick thrill out of his getup being confused for a measly costume - he revels in the compliments, and by the end of the night he sports some new undead lackeys and grisly human experiments… (& the blood on his hands all too real).
The Joestar estate is draped in deliciously gothic and frivolous decor, courtesy of George’s many maids and helps.
In a similar vein, the smell of spicy pumpkin pies and soups, coupled with that of newly-baked fresh bread, lingers around the estate all October.
Danny rolls around in the mulch and piles of Autumn leaves, much to the displeasure of Jonathan, who has the duty of bathing him and scrubbing his muddy footprints from the tiles!
Dio’s interest in the holiday extends to pocketing smooth conkers for his growing collection – he insists it prevents creepy crawlies from infesting his room, but it’s a mindless hobby to get him by.
Jonathan oft saves candies and pastries for his brother, who turns his nose up at them - despite craving his share. Jonathan also attempts to get Dio involved in festive games like apple-bobbing, ding dong ditching and trick-or-treat - and is met with another refusal.
Dio & his goons play some rather nasty pranks over the month, like putting a frog or a spider under Jonathan’s sheets…
Erina hand sews some wonderfully spooky yet accurate costumes, from Mary Shelley to an Egyptian mummy!
The harder to reach areas of the house don’t even need decorating, what with the cobwebs that find their way into the nooks and crannies of the stately home.
