Chapter 1: Enter FLOWER BOY

Chapter Text

Bas-Izuku had no idea that he had a quirk, but Long story short, a quirk is a power, and his has something to do with plants….. Apparently? I mean that did explain how his plants alway flourished more with him around than just his Grandma.

Izuku was on his way to UA high school for the entrance exam, followed by his (somehow) friend, Katsuki who reminded him of Aubrey, in a way.

“Katsuki! Come on!” Izuku shouted excitedly.

“I am coming, just be patient Izuku.” Katsuki said tiredly.

Izuku slowed down a bit when Katsuki said his name, he still wasn’t used to being Izuku Midoriya instead of Basil Chrysanthe.

Izuku ran towards the gates of UA as soon as it came into sight, spooking Katsuki a little with the sudden burst of movement.

“Slow down nerd!” Katsuki said, loud enough for Izuku to hear it.

Izuku slowed down, waiting for the taller boy to catch up.

Izuku’s dark green hair shone brightly in the sunlight, lighter green highlights on full display from where it all used to be blonde.

Katsuki still didn’t understand the boy in front of him at all. Izuku was so complicated, as if his brain was wrapped up in layers of walls and other measures to block people out.

Izuku was quite anxious as he entered through the school gate, not excited to be around that many people and have to make friends, which he already struggled with.

Izuku had made a whole new identity so he would be able to start a new life. He now lived in Japan with a nice lady named Inko Midoriya, who had helped him dye his hair and pick a name.

Izuku entered the doors, got out his identification card, and sat in his assigned seat, right next to Katsuki.

Izuku had been put in therapy, probably for the better. Unfortunately he didn’t like it much, especially because he had to talk about things, and somehow put down his walls that he hadn’t let down since he told Hero, Aubrey, and Kel about how Mari really died.
After about 30 minutes Izuku was pulled from his anxious thoughts as Present Mic started to speak.
“HELLO LISTENERS!!!” Present mic yelled, luckily without his quirk.

Izuku covered his ears at the loud noise, he’s always hated loud noises.
The explanations of the exam were over quickly, and Bas-Izuku worked on the written assignment in front of him.

Izuku worked on the assignment, rechecking his answers over and over again. There couldn’t be any mistakes, he had to be sure of it.

The time ended, his test being taken from him. He was quite anxious about his score, did he pass, fail, only make it average? Again, he was pulled from his thoughts as Present Mic started to explain the next activity.

“In this part of the test you will fight robots of varying difficulty, one is worth one point, another is worth two, and another worth three.” Present Mic explained.

“But sir! There are four listed on the pamphlet!” A blue haired boy said loudly, Making Izuku jump. “And you!” The boy said, pointing directly at Bas-Izuku, Izuku.

“Wh-what?’ Izuku questioned.

“You’ve been fidgeting and muttering this entire time! If you are just here to distract everyone you should leave!”

Izuku flinched at the loud sound, “S-Sorry…” He stuttered out.

“Yes there are four! The last one isn’t worth anything so I didn’t think it was important.” Mic said cheerily, effectively cutting off the boy’s further criticisms.

“Thank you, sir.” The boy said, sitting back down.

“Now, go in front of the area for the practical exam!” Present Mic shouted.

All the students in the room started to move, but Izuku and Katsuki stayed there a little longer before heading to the area, pushing through to the front.

As the countdown started and the doors slowly raised Izuku slipped under the door, his short stature helping greatly.

“That’s unfair!” and “He’s cheating!” rang through the crowd.

“There’s no countdown in a real battle so, GO! GO! GO!” Present mic shouted.

Everyone ran in, a broken pipe stuck in one robot, and several just deactivated. Katsuki saw Izuku dashing across rooftops, jumping from one to another, somehow deactivating the robots as he went.

After a lot of the robots were destroyed the zero pointer was sent out, towering over the buildings as Izuku ran straight to it, opening a panel on its back.

“M-mh! Got it open!” Izuku ripped out the wiring, a vine coming from his hand to pierce the eyes? (If you can call them that?).

Izuku looked down as it started to fall, seeing a brown haired girl. He hurriedly sent out a vine to move the brown haired girl out of the way.

“Time's up!!” Present Mic announced.

Izuku came down to help the girl, “Are you alright?”

“Y-yeah, I’m Ochako Uraraka!” The girl, Uraraka, Introduced herself.

“I’m Bas- Izuku. Izuku Midoriya.” Izuku said, quickly correcting himself when he started to say Basil.

“Nice to meet you Midoriya!” Uraraka said cheerily.

“Nurse, coming through- Are either of you hurt?” Recovery Girl asked worriedly.

“Don’t think so.” Izuku said.

“That's good now, take some gummy bears deary.” Recovery handed them a few Haribo gummy bears before walking off to find if there were any injured people.

“Nice to meet you Izuku! Hope you get accepted!” Uraraka said happily.

“You too Uraraka!” Izuku said, trying to mask how anxious he felt.

Izuku checked the time, realizing he was supposed to meet Kacchan at the gates of UA 15 minutes ago.

“Sorry! I have to go!” Izuku hurriedly told Uraraka as he ran off.

Izuku ran up to the gate, a (probably it’s hard to tell with him always angry) mildly pissed off Katsuki Bakugo.

“Sorry I was late, Kacchan!” Izuku said as they started to walk to their houses.

“Just be on time next time nerd.” Katsuki said flatly.

Izuku nodded eagerly, being very excited to see if he got into the hero course, even going to bed early to make the time go by faster.
