Buck was still lying in that hospital bed, still in a coma. Chimney was supposed to go up on that ladder. He was supposed too. Not Buck, but stupid him decided to let him go up anyways. This is what happened.
Chimney was standing there, staring into the window, seeing where Buck was. Laying in that hospital dead, looking more inactive, and dead than he had in .. All the time he’d known him basically.
Buck was the active one, the cheerful, happy one. Not the one who sat in hospital beds, and was in a coma.
Chimney should have gone up. Maddie stood next to him, arm around his shoulders. Apparently he was crying. He hadn’t realized that. He was still in shock, literally no pun intended, about the whole situation.
And then Eddie was standing on his other side, hands in his pockets. Maybe Buck wouldn’t have been in a coma if he was faster. They all felt.. Different ways about this whole situation.
“He’s gonna be okay.” Eddie said, quietly, looking at Chimney before back at Buck.
