Chapter Text

There he stood. Being approached by the elders from the tribe he had been raised by his whole life. Carrying different artifacts from the clan, his clan, that had sacred meaning to them. There he stood, ankle deep in the waters waiting for the Armorer to carry over the item she was holding in her hands that would become a second skin to him.

His helmet.

The Armorer raised the helmet that would soon be his above her head so all onlookers could witness this momentous ceremony that was taking place. Who he was, and who he would become.

"I swear on my name, and the name of my ancestors" said The Armorer.

The young boy stood steady, and puffed his chest out. Slightly nervous about having all eyes on him, but wanting more than anything, to prove himself to his people.

"I swear on my name, and the name of the ancestors" the boy repeated.

"That I shall walk the way of the Mandalore" the Armorer said, which the young boy repeated yet again. She stepped forward, raising the helmet made of bronze and ruby red, and placed it upon the young childs' head, until it was latched to the rest of the armor. Sealing not only his physical identity, but the oath the boy was swearing, forever.

Now that his face was hidden away, the young boy smiled beneath his mask, and trying to let out an inconspicuous breath. He was so very proud of himself for being able to obtain the title 'Mandalorian' knowing that he would have a family and place in the universe for the rest of his life.

"This is the way" the Armorer said, snapping the young man out of his temporary thoughts.

"This is the way" he repeated, hearing his 'new' voice through the modulator of the helmet.

"THIS IS THE WAY" the rest of the tribe repeated, acknowledging the newly appointed Mandalorian's status.

Leaning down and dipping the bowl that he hadn't seen her carrying, into the waters he stood in, the Armorer continued by confirming the child understood that from this moment forward, he would never remove his helmet in front of another living thing, or else he would be a Mandalorian no longer.

The young man repeated the words to the Armorer insuring he understood what the Creed required, then giving his affirmation.

"You are now Finn 'Djarin' a foundling no longer, but this day, a Mandalorian."

The Togruta smiled to herself after exiting the Jedi chambers. Once she had claimed her status as a knight and successfully trained a Padawan who had done the same, she was soon promoted to Jedi master. And not long after that was given a seat on the Jedi council.

Even thought it was not necessary for the young master to ever train a padawan again, she felt that it was her way of being a guide of the Force, by helping others to come to know it.

Just as Grand Master Yoda still from time to time would oversee the classes and teaching instructions of the younglings, master Shaak Ti felt that it was her duty not only to the Jedi order, but to the Force as well.

As she made her way to the chamber she was instructed to go to, there she found master Yoda standing next to a young girl who only stood a foot taller than the grand master himself.

"Youngling Rey, this, your master will be" Yoda said.

The young girl looked up and smiled at Shaak Ti, the Togruta not being able to help herself but to smile back.

Master Yoda giggled to himself before gently stomping his cane to get both of their attention.

"Go" Yoda said gently prodding Rey closer to her master. "Go you must, lots to learn you have."

"Master Yoda is right young one, we do have much to learn" Shaak Ti said before Rey walked forward and took her masters hand.

Shaak Ti loved physical affection. It was what her species as a Togruta thrived on. Yet, the master had sworn herself to the ways of the Jedi, and knew that attachments, even as close an attachment between a Padawan and that of their master was to be encouraged, yet limited. However, since the girl was so young, younger than most when they grow from youngling to Padawan, Shaak Ti would allow it this one time.

"So what are you going to teach me first master?" the young girl asked.

Shaak Ti looked down and smiled at the girl again. She was so hungry for knowledge, so eager to learn and understand how the Force, in and of it self was a living thing that could manifest in anyway it saw fit.

Shaak Ti could sense so much optimism and joy in this young girl, so instead of sighting out the Jedi Code...

'There is no emotion, there is peace.

There is no ignorance, there is knowledge.

There is no passion, there is serenity.

There is no chaos, there was harmony.

There is no death, there is the Force.'

...which eventually the girl would have to learn, she simply replied: "Today, I'm going to teach you were master Yoda hides his cookie stash."
