Work Text:
Dear Miss Guilt Complex,
I am writing this knowing that you are free.
You have to be.
And know that I expect your reply urgently.
I really feel like you are not putting me on a high enough pedestal,
And that you are undermining my greatness
By my name not being on your tongue every second of the day.
Are you deaf or something?
You hear me,
Constantly struggling,
But you still dare think to be so self-conscious
about your puny life?
Are you doing this on accident,
or are you just a bad friend?
You wouldn't recognize my suffering
If the signs hit you in the head.
I understand that you
“Apparently”
Think about me every second,
But my life is all-consuming.
Your ‘all’ isn't enough.
And maybe it will never be.
You never stop to think how selfish you are
By not being at my beck and call.
You are playing a fool’s game
And all I'm doing is trying to help you
Had I not been here for you,
Sheltering you from the world
And it's cruel lies.
I'd imagine you'd be nothing more,
than worthless.
Give me a break.
It's been tiring fixing you into shape,
So let the person who made you the person you are rest.
That's the least you could do for your creator
Do what i designed you to do,
And do it well.
Yours faithfully,
Narcissus
