Mondstadt is the city of freedom, it's lively and peaceful. But, today just wasn't it. The well known Cavalry Captain has been out of his field this past few weeks. Some say he's taking a break, and some suspect he's doing stuff behind the ordo of Favonious.
And this affect the people around him. Especially Diluc Ragnvindr. It was a typical evening at Angel's Share, drunkards cheering, yelling and passed out in the tavern. Master Diluc is bartending this evening, switching shifts with Charles.
He'd expected for a bluenette to come, he comes by this time usually. But it has been an hour, and this gives the bartender suspicion. Was he doing a late night task? Could be, knowing Kaeya who can't turn people down. But something just doesn't feel right.
The tavern door opened but it wasn't the bluenette who entered, it was Jean the Knight of Favonious acting Grandmaster. She seemed to be looking for someone, and who could she be searching for in a tavern? The only answer is Kaeya Alberich.
"Good evening Master Diluc."
"Back at you too acting Grandmaster. how can I help you?"
"Have you seen Kaeya? I have something to talk about with him."
Diluc stopped for a moment, where has this guy went? Even Jean went looking for him personally.
"Did he not go to work today? He hasn't come here today."
"Ah, he did go to work. He finished early and said that he has work somewhere. I thought he might be in the tavern after finishing his work."
"I wonder. Where did he went."
Jean took a seat and caressed her forehead, looking at her Diluc put down a glass of apple cider in front of her. Telling her to relax at some point.
"...you won't believe what I saw a few days ago! I saw the cavalry captain going out of the city with a cloaked person. He looked really suspicious to me."
Diluc and Jean glanced at each other, now what did this guy just said? Kaeya doing shady things out of Mondstadt? That sounds like a really unbelievable lie.
"I believe you man, it's been hard to detect the captain in mond lately. But look on the positive side, it could be his lover and they're just spending time together."
"It could be, though we shouldn't assume things before the captain said it himself."
Diluc and Jean only got even more curious, just where has Kaeya been going to all this time?
"Do you think he's-"
"No Diluc, we know he's not like that. He probably got his own reasons."
Jean took a sip of the apple cider and rest her chin on her hand.
Suddenly the bell on the door rang and a little elf entered the tavern while running happily, it was the little spark knight Klee.
"Careful there Klee."
Said Kaeya.
"Kaeya! Where have you been today?"
Jean asked.
Kaeya sat down beside Jean and carried Klee to his lap.
"I was babysitting Klee, Albedo said he'll be busy in his lab for the whole day so I took charge of the little spark knight."
He said.
"Yup! We were having so much fun today! We went to pick flowers, Klee also made a flower crown!"
She beamed.
"That's good to know you had fun Klee, but next time please let me know beforehand. It's a bit worrying, considering you've been out of town quite often."
Jean said.
"She's right. You wouldn't want to ruin the KoF's reputation would you?"
Diluc added.
"I will i will. One glass of your finest wine please master Diluc."
Everyone is enjoying their time, Klee is busy drawing on the paper Diluc gave her. While Kaeya and Jean are talking about work and documents. And Diluc is making the customers drink.
"Ta-da!"
Klee finished her drawing and show it to Diluc, Jean, and Kaeya. There are three people in the drawing, Kaeya, Klee, and another person.
"That's a really good drawing Klee, but who is that person beside you?"
Jean asked out of curiosity.
This somewhat made Kaeya panicked a bit.
"This one?"
Klee asked pointing at the drawing of a ginger haired man.
"Yeah that one, who's that?"
Diluc paid his attention to the drawing too.
"This is mister Kaeya's friend! He accompanied us, and he's really nice! He's the one who taught Klee how to make a flower crown!"
She said beaming.
Jean and Diluc stare at each other confused, they don't remember Kaeya having a friend with ginger hair and an unfamiliar colour of clothing.
"Oh, really? He must be a good person then."
Jean said smiling to Klee.
"Yeah! Also he made a flower crown for mister Kaeya too, and- and.. hmm Klee forgot what that thing is called.."
She said while thinking hard.
Kaeya tried to ignore the stare Diluc and Jean gave him, he expected this would happen but he's not handling it very well.
"Klee remember, it's a flower ring!!"
She said.
And Kaeya thought this couldn't get any worse, Klee is just telling her story of her activity today.
"Klee I think Jean and Master Diluc has heard all of it right? How about we-"
"What happened next Klee?"
Jean cut Kaeya off, she was really curious on who this person is. To be REALLY close with Kaeya. On the other hand Diluc looks like he's in a bad mood.
"What happened next.. oh oh! Mister Kaeya, do you remember when he said that he'll marry yo-"
Kaeya closed Klee's mouth before she can spout everything to them.
"A proposal?!"
Diluc and Jean screamed together. And the tavern went silent, everyone's looking at them.
Well, isn't he fucked now? He knew it was a bad idea bringing his boyfriend Ajax to babysit Klee.
"Ahem.."
Jean composed herself and Diluc sighed.
BITE!
"Ouch! Klee-"
"Why did you close Klee's mouth? Klee doesn't like it!"
She said.
"Sorry Klee, but can we stop the story here? I think it's enough for them to hear."
"Alright, Klee will continue drawing then!"
She said, turning to her drawing paper once again.
"Do you mind explaining Kaeya? You have a lover?"
Jean didn't look that serious, she's just curious. But Diluc does look really serious.
"Well, yes. yes I have a BOYfriend."
He finally admitted.
"Who is he? Where is he from? Can he fight? Is he strong? He's not a jerk is he? Does he have a job? How old is he? How many family mem-"
"Master Diluc, why do you need those information?"
Kaeya asked, and Jean is also concerned.
"Reasons."
Diluc kept his thoughts to himself this time.
"All you need to know is that he's a good person, that's all-"
"When will we meet him?"
Diluc asked once again, Kaeya looks really done with this.
"Well, I don't want to be nosy but we should meet him since he said he's gonna propose right? We should at least know his face."
Jean followed.
"This is a misunderstanding- he's not proposing any soon alright? It's only been three weeks since we got together-"
"Good point, though bring him here when you're ready so we could know what kind of a person he is."
Jean stated.
"I agree, I need to see him myself."
Diluc mumbled the last word to himself.
"Why do you- sigh i will."
By the time they finished talking, Klee was found asleep on Kaeya's lap with her head on the table. Kaeya excuse himself to go back first because Klee fell asleep. And the day comes to an end.
