Work Text:

Second Year

1.

From the balcony of his dorm, Izuku stands outside overlooking the city. It’s the weekend now and so most of the students are going back to their homes.

He closes his eyes for a second. The breeze ruffles his hair gently and forgiving. The city is looking better now, it’s still ruined from the destruction of the war, but most people are already moving back into their houses and settling in as it is. He only hopes his mother didn’t have much trouble lifting boxes and other heavy things.

The sharp pain that keeps pulling at his insides starts again and Izuku clenches his firsts hard, his knuckles white as the wind turns cold and unrelenting.

“Izuku,” a voice calls out. It’s roughed up in the most pleasing of ways. Izuku turns around softly to look at the owner of such a voice. He’s standing with his arms in his pockets, his face calm as he waits for Izuku in the doorway.

“You’re going home, right?” Katsuki asks.

“..” Izuku composes himself for a moment, letting out a thoughtful breath. “Yeah, I am, Kacchan. Why?” He speaks.

Katsuki pokes at the inside of his cheek for a second, “Let’s hurry up then. It leaves in 30 minutes.”

“Huh?”

“The train, stupid. If we want to make it in time, we have to leave now. You got some shit packed?” as he says this, he walks further into Izuku’s room and grabs his backpack that was sitting on the floor. He curses under his breath, “Of course you fucking didn’t.”

“Ah!” Izuku says as if figuring out what he meant was a hard mental task. “You want to take the train with me? I just assumed you would want to go with Kirishima.”

Katsuki tenses up for a second, looking up from his job of stuffing Izuku’s bag with clothes for the weekend. He gives him a strange look and scoffs, looking away. “I would, but shitty hair is going over to Pinky’s and helping her parents move back in. Since his own family went out of town and won’t be back till later.” At this, he looks back up and gives Izuku a playful smirk. “Besides. We’re going to the same place.”

Izuku furrows his brows. He tilts his head, “What do you mean?”

“You don’t know?” he replies, a little shocked. “Your mom’s staying with my parents for now. She didn’t tell you?”

“Ah,” Izuku says, a little distracted. “I’m sure she did, I must’ve forgotten.”

Katsuki snorts quietly, shaking his head. “Right. Well, I’ll be waiting. Hurry the fuck up or else I’m leaving you behind to walk in my dust.”

Izuku laughs as he watches Katsuki walk out. He lingers a bit in the doorway, looking at Izuku with a rare gleam in his eyes, and then he’s off.

He stands in the middle of his room. Izuku sighs deeply, his shoulders reaching up to his ear and then sagging back down. He clenches his hand, watching the scars expand a little more, feeling the embers jump a little at the action.

“They should last for a few more years,” Izuku remembers being told. A few years more is all he has. He bites his lip harder, closing his eyes and putting the thought into the back of his mind. With that, he’s off and closing the door of his room.

…

“I’m home!” Katsuki yells as soon as the door of his house is wide open. He lets Izuku walk in first and slamming the door as he follows.

“Don’t slam my door, you brat!” His mom yells from the kitchen, footsteps approaching them as he moves quickly and slaps a hand to the back of Katsuki’s head, keeping down as she scolds him with a finger in the air. “Learn to be respectful!”

“Let me go!” As he says this, sparks appear in his palms and Mitsuki pushes him away harshly. “Damn, hag! Stop being so aggressive!”

“You’re lucky your arm is still healing, Katsuki.” She says in a threatening voice, her eyes narrowed dangerously before she looks up and meets Izuku’s gaze. Instinctively, he bolts back a bit, scared to become the next target, but the woman’s eyes softened and her smile widened.

“Izuku!” She exclaimed. Putting her hands on his shoulders firmly and pulling him towards her for a bone-crushing hug, she says, “I’m glad you’re back on your feet, kid.” she releases him, but her grip on his shoulders doesn’t leave. “And your hair! You poor boy, walking around like that. They should’ve just left you bald!”

Izuku feels slightly uncomfortable, but Mitsuki’s strong personality that he has become used to for so long wasn’t anything new. In the back, Katsuki is holding back a laugh, trying to look annoyed that his mother won’t shut up and stop bothering Izuku.

“You know, Izuku, you’ve grown into such a nice and handsome boy! I remember when I used to worry so much because Inko’s boy was almost as skinny as a chopstick! But look at you now! All the muscle you’ve put on, I’m glad.” Then, her eyes twinkle with mischief. “You know, Katsuki is never interested, but I know some lovely girls just right for you—“

She never finishes. Katsuki interrupts with a yell and glares at his mother. “Izuku doesn’t want to date any of your friend’s daughters! They’re all ugly anyway!”

Mitsuki turns with an offended expression, her eyebrow twitching with rage. “Be respectful, Katsuki! And just who are you to decide who Izuku wants to date! Don’t make me angry!”

Katsuki yells back a response, but Izuku drowns it out after a while of swearing at their screams and trying to calm them down. It’s futile, once they argue they never stop.

“Izuku?” he hears a soft spoken voice ask. Katsuki and his mom stop arguing for a second to look up at the stairs where Inko is on top of, looking down at them.

“Mom!” Izuku shouts as soon as his mother takes off running and tackles Izuku into a hug. He catchers her with ease, albeit stumbling a little. She immediately wraps his arms around his neck, hiding her face in the crook of his neck. “What’s wrong?” he asks her with a wobbly tone.

“Oh, Izuku.” she says, tears running down her face when she raises her head to look at him and hold him tighter. “I’m so glad you’re here, I’ve been so worried!” The two Midoriya’s are crying rivers now, their foreheads are touching as they hold each other tighter. It’s a disgustingly affectionate sight. Snot is running down their noses and they’re hiccuping like their lives depended on it.

Mitsuki and Katsuki share a side look, their lips pursed in a thin line. Mitsuki breaks first and shares a fond smile, but Katsuki stands looking a little lost. That’s when they finally separate and Inko walks up to him with her arms open.

“Katsuki.” she says delicately. “How is your arm doing?”

“It’s been better,” Katsuki replies, a little tense as Inko gets closer and wraps her arms around him. A hand comes up to hold the back of his blonde head and with great hesitation, he brings an arm to the small of her back. “How have you been?”

“Oh, I’m just relieved you two are well.” she says with a smile, letting go of Katsuki who looks a bit pained and like he might combust out of embarrassment any second. Izuku laughs at this, Mitsuki joins in too.

She nudges him with her elbow, whispering. “He’s so embarrased he looks like he’s shitting himself.”

Izuku laughs a bit harder, Katsuki immediately noticing. “Oi! What are you two whispering about? Say it to my face, god damn it!”

Mitsuki clicks her tongue. “Disrespectful brat. Izuku, if he ever talks to you this way you have my permission to kick your foot right up his ass.”

“Um–”

“I dare you to fucking try.” Katsuki warns. Izuku squeaks and covers his face with his hands, his mom laughing along and rubbing circles on his back.

“Food’s ready!” Masaru, Katsuki’s dad, yells as he sets the table. “Seems everyone is calmed down, now?” he says sweetly like always. “Izuku. Nice to see you. I’m glad you recovered well. We were all so worried!”

“It’s nice to see you too, Uncle Masaru.” Izuku says shyly, dragging out a chair and yelping when Katsuki dragged him to sit down to him. When he looked back, Katsuki’s mouth was twisted up in an unpleasant way.

Chatter flowed across the table, all of them sharing smiles. The calming atmosphere of it all eased some of Izuku’s pains and worries, allowing himself to let his guard down and smile back at everyone sitting around him. He was truly blessed, he should be grateful for what’s accomplished, what he has now, there was no reason to yearn for the past, especially when Katsuki considered him an equal now, a friend. When everyone was safe now, in a place where they can finally be joined together with family.

He closed his eyes again and breathed in, smiling once he could breathe out.

After dinner is done, Izuku helps Katsuki with bringing all the dishes to the kitchen where their parents are working to get them all washed.

“Izuku, by the way, I forgot to mention. There’s a futon in the supply closet if you need it. The guest room is upstairs just down the hall, but if you would rather have a sleepover with Katsuki that’s fine too.” Mitsuki says before they get the chance to leave.

“Uh,” Izuku says dumbly, looking over at Katsuki for any sort of anger at Izuku sleeping in his room, all he finds is a shrug laced with mild annoyance. “I’ll figure it out later. I should probably shower.”

“You brought clothes right, sweetie?” Inko asks.

“He did.” Katsuki cuts in before he can answer. “The nerd didn’t have anything packed until I started packing for ‘im.”

Masaru laughs, Mitsuki looks a little startled. His mother only smiles warmly at this, joining her hands together as she says, “I’m glad my dear Izuku has you to help him. He can be a little forgetful sometimes.”

Katsuki rolls his eyes and scoffs, but he nods his head in agreement either way. “If I don’t know it.” he grumbles under his breath.

“Well, chop chop. Get ready for bed.”

“We’re not little kids anymore, old hag! We’ll stay up however long we want to!”

“Hah!” Mitsuki huffs. “If that came from anyone else’s mouth, I'd believe it. Don’t start acting all rebellious when you go to bed at 8:30 PM.”

Katsuki’s lips raise in a growl, but he turns to look the other way since he has no argument. “Whatever.” and he gestures for Izuku to follow. They walk up the stairs quietly, Izuku quietly snooping around and looking at the decoration of the home. It’s a very nice house, it looks homey and cozy purely due to the decoration and the family picitres hanged up on the walls. If Izuku looks hard enough, he might be able to find the one he’s in.

It’s nice, he thinks. I haven’t been here since so long. It still looks the same.

What isnt the same, though, is Katsuki’s room. When they were kids. It used to be somewhat like Izuku’s. He had posters and toys, figurines, many All Might related things. Of course, he wasn’t as obsessed as Izuku, Katsuki was very good at hiding his fanboy side, but it was still there.

Now, his walls were decorated with posters of bands he liked, some All Might posters still there. His room was neatly put together, something Izuku’s room never had the pleasure of knowing ever. His figurines were most likely put away and his shelves now had a bunch of books.

Looking closely, he recognizes they’re a bunch of history books, classics, English Beginner books, a ton of books that Izuku assumes Katsuki bought so he could get a clearer understanding of his quirk, and mangas. Shoujo mangas. Shonen too, but mostly shoujo. While Katsuki is distracted putting away some things, Izuku picks them up and flips through the pages.

“Kacchan,” he starts. “You like shoujo mangas?” he asks with pursed lips, trying to contain a wide grin. A laugh too, it’s really hard trying not to laugh now that he knows that no matter how tough Katsuki acts, he still enjoys romance mangas.

Katsuki stops in his tracks, a shirt still in his hold. He looks up so sharply that Izuku couldn’t hold back a laugh. He immediately clutched his stomach, convulsing in laughter as Katsuki used an explosion to cross the distance and snatch the book out of his hands.

“Stop looking through my stuff, damm it!” he yells, carefully putting the book back in place. That makes Izuku cover his mouth and fall to the ground in even more laughter. “Come off it! I’ll kill you!”

“Sure you will,” Izuku says in a gasp, still on the floor. Katsuki couches down, grabbing Izuku’s hair in a strong fist and letting out small explosions resulting in Izuku’s hair frying up. He shuts up quickly, breathing in and out to contain his laugh.

“I’m sorry,” he quickly says, face stony.

Katsuki smirks. “That’s what I thought, nerd.” and he releases Izuku’s head, making it drop and thunk on the floor.

“You’re so mean to me, Kacchan.” Izuku whines while rubbing his head.

“Wah, wah.” Katsuki mocks. “Go shower, dumbass. You reek of sweaty balls.”

“You’re so vulgar, Kacchan.” Izuku sighs, but gets up off the floor anyway and searches through his book for his pajamas.

“Deal with it.” the blonde replies. He throws a towel at Izuku’s head, hitting the exact mark and almost blinding Izuku to his death. “You’re so stupid.” A pause. “Soap and washcloth are in the last drawer. Hurry up.”

“Yes, mom,” Izuku drawls sarcastically, quickly realizing what he said. He stops for a second, waiting for Katsuki’s reaction.

It happened like this: “What did you say!?” he yelled first, getting up from his bed. Izuku quickly ran down, closing and locking the door as fast as he could. “Coward,” Katsuki spit out and then he retreated back to his room.

Finally, they were both ready for bed. While Katsuki finished in the bathroom, Izuku had already settled in his quest room, not wanting to bother anyone anymore. It was a cozy room, perfect for sleeping in. Again, much more organized then his own room back at home. Sometimes he had trouble finding things under piles of clothes, this room was relatively empty though since it was just a guest room.

Mindlessly scrolling on his phone, Izuku jumped when the door flinged open, bouncing twice or thrice on the wall. When Izuku looked up, there was Katsuki standing there. He was wearing his skull shirt, the one he always uses to sleep and some random sweatpants that looked sort of old and ruined.

“You’re sleeping here?” Katsuki raised a brow.

Izuku felt a little lost. Where else was he supposed to sleep? He knows it wasn’t the wrong room because he had asked Mitsuki where it was atleast two times just so he wouldn’t intrude in the wrong room. With that, he said, “Huh?”

“You’re going to sleep already?”

“Well yeah? I didn’t want to bother anyone else and, uh, I know it’s past your bedtime already. I didn’t want to disrupt that!”

“Oh. Right.” Katsuki said a little dumbly, his voice losing a bit of mirth, a bit of hope? Izuku didn't quite know what that meant. An awkward silence passed in between them and all over room as Katsuku continued to stand there, grabbing the inside of his cheek with his tongue and lightly tapping the doorway where his hand was. He straightened up after a while, giving a small nod. “See you tomorrow, then.”

It looked normal. It didn’t feel right. Something cracked in Izuku’s chest at the tone and at the way Katsuki’s posture shrinked a little despite always radiating the confidence he had always admired.

“Kacchan!” He called out. Before he knew it, his feet had moved on it’s own and his hand had gotten a hold of Katsuki’s wrist. The blonde looked taken a back for a second, but he didn’t pull away from Izuku’s touch nor did he yell because of it. He simply stayed quiet, his face showing a slight mix of irritation and confusion. “Is something wrong?”

“No,” Katsuki clicked his tongue and released his arm. “Go to sleep already, then. It’s late.”

If you would rather have a sleepover with Katsuki that’s fine too. Izuku remembers Mitsuki telling him. Katsuki hadn’t opposed the suggestion, he hadn’t said anything either. Did Katsuki want to.. Have a sleepover?

He turns around, towards the supply closet. Ignoring Katsuki’s questioning about what the hell he was doing, Izuku got out the futon, full of confidence. It’s fine, he thought. If Kacchan doesn’t want me sleeping in his room, he’ll tell me so and I’ll just have to get over this embarrasing moment.

With the futon in hand, Izuku turns towards Katsuki and motions to his room with a tilt of his head. For a moment, Katsuki stays quiet. But then. But then he whips out a wicked grin and scoffs, putting his good arm in the left pocket of his pants. He walks to his room and Izuku follows.

“We should watch a movie.” Izuku suggests.

Putting his phone down and catching Izuku’s gaze, Katsuki asks, “What movie?”

“Hmm. Paranormal ones? Like where they try and get rid of the ghosts in the house with exorcisms? Those are entertaining.”

“Don’t bullshit me. Say what you actually want to say.”

Izuku chuckles a bit. Katsuki knows him so well. “All Might: The Silver Age?”

With a snort and a scowl, Katsuki opens the laptop on his bed and pulls up a website to watch it on. A little stunned, Izuku stays sitting with his legs crossed on his futon, jumping a little when Katsuki turns his head to glare at him. “Are you planning on watching it from the floor?” he says, raising his hands as if Izuku was the dumbest person ever discovered on the planet. He immediately jumps and gently lands on the edge of Katsuki’s bed, feeling out of place.

“Nerd.” Katsuki deadpans, closing his eyes and sighing in frustration. “Closer.”

“Oh.” Izuku says intelligently, flushing a bit. “Oh, okay.” he scoots a bit closer, trying to ignore the way his heart starts beating faster then usual. He shuffles closer to Katsuki, their shoulders almost touching, but Izuku stays stiff enough for that not to happen.

Finally, Katsuki plays the movie and he lays back down on his pillow, his hand splayed out over his stomach while his right is supported by a pillow. Izuku doesn’t dare to make eye contact, keeping his eyes fixed on the computer.

“You’re going to pop a blood vessel like that. Why the fuck are you so stiff?”

Izuku sort of turns around to look at Katsuki with a pained expression, the blonde only looks mildly disgusted. “Do you need to take a shit or something?”

“No! Eugh, Kacchan.” Izuku frowns.

“Then lay the fuck down. Holy shit, did glasses shove a stick up your ass?”

“You mean Iida.”

“Glasses, prez, fucking megatron, I don’t give a shit.” Katsuki says with a roll of his eyes. Izuku is ready to scold him, but he shuts his mouth so fast that his jaw clenches when Katsuki’s hand wraps around his arm and pulls him down.

He yelps a little. It makes Katsuki laughing, he ignores Izuku’s whisper-shout of ‘Kacchan!’ in favor of laughing. “You scream like a girl!” he says in between snorts and snickers. Izuku turns his head, his mouth dropping a little at the sight of Katsuki’s face so calm, happy, with a smile so bright and wide that his sharp canines show off like fangs. His eyes are smiling with him, it’s incredible and Izuku can’t look away.

When he opens his eyes and pretends to wipe a tear, Izuku notices his pupil dilate and his eyes with it when he realizes how close Izuku really is. Katsuki’s eyes sparkle with something that Izuku can’t recognize, but it’s familiar because it’s one Katsuki has given him for the past few days. Such a look never fails to make Izuku’s brain melt.

Eye contact last a few seconds before Katsuki frowns, scoffs and looks away towards the movie again. The attention he put on Izuku gone so fast that it leaves him feeling cold without those red eyes on him. He craves that warmth again. He needs it.

Looking away from Katsuki’s face, he focuses back on the movie.

Time passes quickly and as the movie finishes, Izuku holds back a yawn. He ignores the heaviness of his eyes for a while longer before he loses the battle and his eyes fall close, his head dropping on something warm.

Breathing in the scent of something sweet contently, Izuku’s breathing evens and he’s fast asleep.

He doesn’t hear the promise whispered in the peaceful atmosphere of the room.

2.

Izuku and Katsuki are in the common room, as well as the rest of their class. It’s a Thursday afternoon, classes are finished, food has been served and all that’s left to do is just relax for the rest of the day. Some of the guys are in the kitchen, cooking up some snacks with Koda. Some are sitting on the couch, talking amongst each other with some of the girls. Another group of them are talking in the cover where Katsuki and Izuku are.

“—And I don’t know. He was really nice, but he wasn’t exactly my type!” he hears Hagakure say.

“Yeah, plus…” Tsu replies with a knowing smirk that makes Hagakure flail her arms around in embarrassment.

“Don’t say it! Don’t say it!”

“No need to be embarrassed! I totally see why!” Mina tells her with a chuckle. “You should shoot your shot!”

“I'm not sure right now is the best time.” the girl says. Izuku’s eyebrow twitches at this, why did that sound so familiar to him? He shakes his head and focuses back on his phone.

“—-I’ve never really seen anyone romantic like that. Although, I do have an idea of who I’d love to date.”

“What is your type, actually?” Hagakure asks.

Mina flushes a bit, but she gives a blinding grin. “I haven’t really thought about looks that much! Of course I'd want him to be handsome, but I would also like for him to take care of me. Strong, too! Buff guys, you know?” The other two girls nod at this, considering it. “He should be kindhearted, sweet, and funny!”

“Yes, ribbit, that’s the most important.” Tsu agrees.

“Obviously! If he’s rude, he’s out!” Hagakure chimes in. That seems to remind Mina of something because she looks over to where him and Katsuki are seated, a mischievous expression on her pink face. Her eyes gleam and Izuku knows it’s a mistake when he makes eye contact with her.

“Midoriya-kun! Bakugou! What about you guys?” She yells over to them. Izuku immediately curses the forces that made him look over. Katsuki, at this, looks up and scoffs. Izuku wishes he cared as much as Katsuki did when it comes to pleasing people. He has to answer.

“Um. What about us?” He asks, trying to play dumb.

“Oh!” She raises her hands dramatically and crosses them with a grin. “Don’t act like you weren’t listening in to our conversation. What’s your type?”

The whole class turns to look at him at this point, their interests piqued. A bunch of the guys from the kitchen are walking towards the couch carrying pastries.

“What are you guys talking about?” Kirishima asks, crossing the distance from the kitchen to the couch and handing a pink frosted cupcake to Mina. She accepts it with ease, flashing a smile his way that Kirishima reciprocates.

“Just asking Midoriya here what his type is!” she looks over from Kirishima to Izuku again, giggling at how red in the face he is.

“If he won’t answer, how about you guys?” Hagakure asks.

Kaminari speaks first. “Any beautiful lady is welcome,” he says with a lovesick expression.

“Of course you say that.” Jirou replies, side eyeing him. Kaminari whines and approaches her with a cupcake that she takes, satisfied.

“What’s your type, then?” Kaminari asks her.

“Uh,” Jirou huffs, but that doesn’t erase the blush on her face and the shy way she turns her head. “I guess people who are loyal. And funny. Maybe let me talk to them about music.”

“Aw!” Mina says, cooing. “Any special person?” she teases. This gets Jirou to jump and turn her head, she starts flushing aggressively and covering her eyes with her cords. Kaminari laughs and pokes her in the stomach with a finger; Jirou easily whips him with one of her cords and gives him a nasty look.

“Hmm..” Kirishima ponders, still smiling at the scene that just played in front of him. “Manly people for sure! I’d like someone strong!” he shouts in that upbeat voice he always has. “But I'd also like to protect the person I love, not just have them protect me. Mutual, you know? Someone cute also, probably. Kind is an important trait.”

“I agree!” Ojirou says from his spot on the kitchen table. To his side, Shoji nods his head in agreement.

“I’d love a woman with big—“ Mineta starts and quickly gets shut down, Tsu’s tongue wrapping around him and squeezing tight.

All the girls looked pleased at this, nodding in unison.

“Yeah, no. Let’s hear from a real man! Iida!” Mina says, making Iida look up from his book somewhat flustered.

“Someone with good discipline and integrity. Good responsibility is extremely important too.” He says firmly, a finger lifting up his glasses.

“Nice,” most of the guys agree.

From the kitchen: “Pretty girls!” That’s Sero. He turns to Momo, who is making her tea and asks. “What’s your type then, Yao-Momo?”

She brings a shy hand to her face and avoids eye contact. “Oh, well. It’s not something I think about often. For a long time I just thought my parents would find the right suitor for me, but now that I’m working towards becoming a hero, I guess I just haven’t had the time to think about dating.” she answers softly. “I guess I’d like to date someone who treats me well. Kind and thoughtful.”

Sero nods at this, accepting her answer.

“That’s a good answer!” Kirishima says. Kaminari nods and adds a thumbs up.

“What about—ribbit—you, Tokoyami?” Tsu asks, interested. From the corner of the room, Tokoyami looks up from his phone and shuffles a bit awkwardly.

“Strong women. Independent.” Tokoyami says, with the seriousness of a hawk. “I don’t care about looks as long as they have an unyielding and beautiful personality.”

“Ahh, so poetic!” Mina screams with excitement. Tsu looks a little giddy at this, Izuku wonders why. “Koda?” Mina asks next, bursting with emotion.

Koda looks taken aback, blushing immensely just like Izuku did. He brings his rabbit up to cover his cover and speaks meekly. “I just hope they like animals.”

“Of course, of course!” says Hagakure. “And you, Sato? I’m guessing someone who adores your cooking! Or someone who loves cooking as much as you!”

Sato laughs. “Yes. The way to someone’s heart is through the stomach, after all!”

“Totally!” Kirishima and Sero agree.

“Eek! That’s so true!” Mina blurts out, her eyes twinkling.

“Ochako?” Tsu asks, a finger to her lips again. “What about you?”

Said girl seems to lose a bit of her enthusiasm after being asked such a question. She looks down to her hands that are fidgeting on her lap, her tongue poking the inside of her mouth. “Um.” she mumbles, blinking a few times as if she’s lost somewhere. “Like everyone said! Thoughtful and kind..A nice smile, too. They fight for what they think is true and just wish to be understood.”

“Ochako!” Mina says with a wobbly voice. “I didn’t take you for such a sentimental type! It’s so you, how didn’t I think of that before!” And she wraps her arms around Ochako, squeezing tightly for a bit before letting go.

They find Todoroki and Shinsou pretty soon, they grow mischievous, grinning so fiercely that they resemble the Cheshire cat. Izuku thinks that it’s pretty scary. “And Todoroki? Shinsou? What are you guys' types?”

Todoroki, who has been confused this whole conversation, looks impossibly more confused. He shares a look with Shinsou, who looks more uncomfortable than confused. “How do you know what your type is?”

Katsuki snorts at Izuku’s side, but says nothing more.

Mina smiles fondly at him. “Well, dear Todoroki. People can have a bunch of different types! But it’s usually what you find most attractive or charming in a person!”

“Oh.” Todoroki says. No one is sure he understands it. “Attraction?”

“Yeah! Like what makes a person stand out to you. What traits or qualities would make you want to date someone.” Hagakure explains further.

“Trust your gut, bro!” Kaminari says, it seems he had taken to seating on Jirou’s chair and now the two are squished together.

Todoroki stays quiet for a second, “I guess when someone is willing to understand me.” he then says.

“Really? Anyone in particular?” Mina tries to tease. Of course, though, Todoroki takes it seriously.

“Midoriya would be a good example.” He says and the class explodes.

“What?!” Someone yells. Izuku can’t actually tell who is talking, seeing as the dizziness he feels in the moment is too blinding.

 “What do you mean Midoriya!”

“Is something going on that we don’t know about?” “Explain!”

“You have a crush on Midoriya?”

Even Katsuki, who seemed unbothered by the conversation, jumped off the couch and grabbed onto Todoroki’s shirt to pull him up and yell at him to explain what the hell he meant.

Why? Izuku asks himself, but he finds there are bigger problems. Todoroki continues to explain. “Midoriya has given me advice plenty of times. He helped me with my quirk and understood when I confided in him with my family matters.”

“Hah?” Katsuki shouts in his face. “So you want to suck the nerds face off?”

“What?” Todoroki asks, confused.

“You just said you felt attracted to him!”

“Yes. As a friend, I would like to be with Midoriya.”

“Todoroki..” Izuku tries to say, but his face is so red he can barely think. “You..have a crush on me!? Where is this coming from?!”

“A crush?”

“Are you stupid or something!?” Katsuki shakes Todoroki again, who doesn’t seem the slightest scared.

“Kacchan!”

“Wait! Wait! Wait!” someone shouts. “I don’t think ‘Roki understands what you guys meant.”

“What?” Katsuki says, dropping Todoroki.

“Todoroki. Do you want to kiss Midoriya?” Sero asks. Izuku flushes so much, pretty sure he malfunctions so badly that Katsuki has to slap his head to bring him back to life.

“What? No. Midoriya is just a friend.”

Some people look a bit disappointed at the answer. Others audibly sigh and sit back down. Katsuki crosses his arms, scowling and sits back down next to Izuku, ignoring his questioning gaze.

“Ohh,” Mina seems to understand. “We’re not talking platonically-wise, just romantically, silly! But it’s great you think so highly of Midoriya, he’s a really good guy!”

“Oh. I understand. I’m sorry for the misunderstanding.”

Mina blushes and covers her face, but quickly recovers. “It’s fine! It’s fine!” The dangerous glint in her eyes comes back, directly aimed at Izuku. Katsuki. Shinsou. Izuku thinks he speaks for all of them when he says that he feels cornered.

“Now,” she says with her hands on her hips. “You guys haven’t answered our question. Shinsou! You go first, let’s save the best ones for last!”

Shinsou furrows his brows, he closes his eyes for a second as if that would make him disappear. “I don’t know.”

“Come on, Shinsou, bro! Everyone has a type!”

“Someone..” Shinsou starts, thinking hard. “I guess someone different. Not like the rest.”

“Ehh?”

Shinsou sighs. “Unique. Someone that just says what they think without caring, does that work?”

“Yes! It does!” Mina says, satisfied. She then turns to the final contestant, which, unfortunately, turns out to be Katsuki and Izuku. Izuku swallows hard, while Katsuki only huffs and crosses his arms, looking away.

“I’m saving you for last, Bakugou.” Mina says.

“Whatever, pinkie. Don’t expect an answer.”

“We’ll see about that.” She says cheekily. Finally, she turns to Izuku and shoots him the brightest smile ever. “Midoriyaa,” she singsongs. “What’s your type? Tell us, tell us!”

He sighs, taking a deep breath. Okay, Izuku, you had all the time in the world to think about this. Just say your type, or just copy off of someone else! Kind is the most common one, which is true because being kind is an awesome trait—His brain floods, especially with everyone looking at him. Especially Katsuki who seems double the interested and he’s freaking out wondering why!

He opens his mouth. “I would say there’s a ton of good qualities out there! Being kind matters! And thoughtful! You have to take into consideration what your partner likes and what they don’t so you can balance your relationship well! I would say someone that’s on equal footing with you, someone who understands you well! I would also date someone that shares the same goals as me, that way it’s much easier to bond! Tsunderes are pretty cute!—” When his mouth is finally closed shut by his own hands. He squeaks at all the dumbfounded looks.

It’s silent for a moment.

But then: “Go you, Midoriya! Pretty specific type you got there!” Sero tells him, smug like he has it figured out.

“Tsunderes, huh? Never took you for the type, Midoriya.” Kaminari chimes in too, sharing a look with Sero.

“Yeah, man. it’s pretty manly.” Kirishima says.

When Izuku looks to the side, it’s to see a small frown and the smallest of wrinkles in between eyebrows on Katsuki’s face. He’s about to ask what happened, but that’s when Mina cuts in.

“You’re adorable, Midoriya! Seems i’ll have to hook you up with someone, yeah?” She winks. Izuku feels way more tense then he already was. “Now, Bakugou. What’s yours?”

Katsuki’s face falls a little flat and he stays quiet. “C‘mon, dude! You’re the only one left, tell us!”

“We won’t judge you, Bakugou.” Todoroki says.

“As if I give a shit what all you losers think,” Katsuki scowls.

“I’m betting that he likes girls with a backbone! That way they can’t take any of his bullshit!” Kaminari says and laughs, lightly hitting Jirou in the shoulder so she can share the laugh. Jirou only side eyes him and pushes his face away in frustration, giggling lightly.

“Nah! Bakubro definitely likes strong girls that can take him in a fight! Manly!”

“Are you guys sure ‘girls’ is the correct gender to use?” Sero asks in a low whisper, some chuckles pass here and there. Izuku suddenly feels like a huge weight has been dropped on top of him.

What is Kacchan’s type? he keeps repeating in his mind.

“C’mon, c’mon, c’mon, c’mon!” Mina shouts in his face, close to prancing in him, rolling his head open and pulling out all his thoughts for them to figure out what Katsuki’s type was.

Katsuki rolls his eyes, pushing Mina away with one hand. “I would never date someone as stupid as you.”

“Does that mean you like smart girls?” Mineta drawls. “Cuz that’s super boring, dude.”

“Shut the fuck up. I don’t give a damn what you guys think. If I ever date someone, it’s the best of the best. I don’t half ass anything, that means whoever I decide to date has to be on par with me or else they’re eating my fucking dust.”

With his question being answered, Izuku feels at a loss for words. Of course Katsuki would want to have the best by his side. He’s always been the best and so it only makes that his partner would be his equal.

Is Izuku still his equal?

Shaking away his thoughts, he comes to the realization that Katsuki had stood up. Everyone else in the class had drifted off to form their own conversations with each other. The common room is loud once again.

With a sigh, Izuku got up too.

How will Izuku ever be Katsuki’s equal again with no quirk?

3.

Izuku was sitting down with Ochako at one of the many dining tables of the dorm. All his notebooks and research neatly piled up as he flipped through the pages, detailing everything he found useful to Ochako in order to help her with her quirk.

“So, you see, when you focus all your power and channel it all into one place, you could—-“ Unfortunately, such things get ruined when Kaminari and Sero walk into the dorm.

It’s mostly the same as everyday, everyone sitting in the living room and conversing with one another. Well, Kaminari and Sero had the chore of going grocery shopping. Normally, everyone would disagree because the two were extremely weird and would most likely spend money on unnecessary things, but they gave them a chance this time.

Which they had utterly failed at.

“Sticky high-five? Fart spray? Nerf water guns?” Katsuki began naming as he took things out of the bag with a horrified tone in his voice. “Muscle man!?” and he reached his thirteenth reason.

“What the fuck did I tell you idiots! Don’t buy usueless fucking shit! Did you even buy food for us to eat!?” he yelled, letting out explosions menacingly from his good hand. It’s not better now that Katsuki had found the power to let out explosions all over his body, it was dangerous.

And a sight. A beautiful sight. But Izuku wasn’t going to get too into that.

While Kaminari and Sero run away from Katsuki, the others had taken the opportunity to snoop through the bags and pull out some snacks they had requested.

The real scenario happened when Hagakure had apparently made her way around the table and was now looking at some of the notes Izuku had taken.

“Woah, Midoriya! You sure take a lot of notes.” she said. Izuku jumped and tried to hide his notes on reflex, but that only made Hagakure giggle and grab one of the notebooks on the pile. “Wow,” she said. “You wrote about the whole class!”

“Really?” Ojiro comes over, grabbing another notebook and flipping the pages. Others also come over to read over her shoulder. “Yo, Midoriya. This is actually helpful!”

“Yeah, think we could read some of ours to get some tips?” someone asks. Izuku is hiding his face in his hands so he’s not sure who exactly asked, but he nods quickly and shrinks into his seat with bursting embarrassment.

To his side, Ochako laughed. “I told you, Deku-kun! No need to be embarrassed.”

“Yeah,” Izuku flushes.

Most of the class has gathered together now. Izuku feels a bit of shame at having written all of this without anyone's permission, but if they think it’s helpful and cool then it’s alright. Right?

“Hm,” Kaminari starts, munching around a donut. “What’s this one about?”

What Kaminari was holding in his hand takes Izuku about 3 years back into the past. When he was quirkless and writing paragraphs about his blonde childhood friend. Of course, nothing really bad is writing on it, but also the worst things are written inside.

“It’s just a bunch of Bakugou drawings.” he says, a little confused.

“Hah?” Katsuki asks. Izuku immediately jumped up on his seat, waving his hands around desperately in a way to distract them from the notebook, it’s futile. Katsuki had already crossed the distance and was looking at the notebook.

The notebook contained a million drawings and paragraphs of Izuku illustrating and imagining what Katsuki’s future hero costume would look like. It had pages of analysis solely on Katsuki’s quirk, as well as a few paragraphs describing how much of a jerk he used to be. It also had paragraphs describing how amazing Katsuki was.

Kaminari gives a few laughs while Katsuki stays quiet. “Damn, Midoriya. You got pretty close to what the costume would look like. You’re a genius, man!”

“Ahaha,” Izuku says a little dumbly, peeking with one eye to look at Katsuki’s reaction.

“Sheesh, Midoriya. Didn’t know you had it in you!” Sero says with a laugh from his spot, overlooking Katsuki’s shoulder in order to read the old notebook.

“I totally understand though. Bakugou was a walking garbage dump at the beginning of the year.” Kaminari says, looking back at Katsuki with a dumb expression, almost waiting for him to lash out. He visibly deflates when he doesn’t.

“Well, we’re all glad Midoriya and Bakugou have worked things out now.” Yaomomo smiles with a gentle expression.

Finally, with a respect for privacy, most of the class disappears off to somewhere else in the dorms after Katsuki goes a bit quiet and gently closes the notebook, throwing it back on the table without looking back at it.

“I should mail him spiders.”

“I’d like to rip Kacchan’s limbs one by one.”

Yeah. It’s for the best.

When Izuku raises his eyes and finds red eyes narrowed at his, he practically runs back to his dorm, maybe using a bit of the embers. Desperate times call for desperate measures. He closes the door of his room and jumps on his bed with a deep sigh.

He’s not sure how long he sits there for. Until he hears a knock.

When he opens the door, it’s to find Katsuki standing there. He has a bowl of food on one hand. His face is unreadable, but Izuku expects him to be a bit angry at what he read. Annoyed too. He waits for Katsuki to call him a stalker, but it never comes.

“You didn’t stay to eat dinner,” he says after a little, a scowl on his face as he thrusts the bowl of food into Izuku’s chest. “If it’s ass, don’t blame me. Momo and Icy-Hot helped me make it since my arm is still fucked up.”

“Oh—right! Is rehab helping, Kacchan?” he asks after it clicks, grabbing the bowl.

“It’s fine. I just need to work harder.” Katsuki says roughly.

“Don’t push yourself too much! You shouldn’t try to put so much force on it either or else it will just take longer to heal.”

“I fucking know that.” Katsuki says. “And what about you, huh? Always worried about everyone else. You used your embers to run out of the place, right? How are they?”

Izuku feels a bit shocked. He didn’t think Katsuki had noticed, but quite obviously, there’s nothing Katsuki doesn’t notice. He looks down at his hand, locking it into a fist and squeezing. He looks back up, “They’re fine. Like All Might said, I still have a few years.”

“Yeah, well, if you’re using them for stupid shit like running out of a room when you’re embarrassed like a little bitch then they’re not going to last. Be careful.”

“Right. Sorry, Kacchan.” Izuku apologizes, his voice a sad tone. “And— What I wrote—-you have to know that it’s really old and I definitely don’t think anything of what I used to think! I never did, just sometimes I would get a little angry, but you did see the other things I wrote about right? I believe that 100%, you’re amazing, Kacchan! I know you apologized and all already, and I told you that I had already forgiven you a long time ago, so I don’t want you to feel guilty of anything! I just—“

“I get it, nerd!” Katsuki yells, cutting him off. “I’m not mad or whatever. Actually, I think you were being too nice. I was a piece of shit. Was expecting something like, ‘Stupid fucking asshole, a villain should come and kidnap him today.’ You’re too fucking nice.”

“That’s not funny, Kacchan. You were kidnapped.” Izuku defends hotly, a little offended.

“Yeah, yeah.” Katsuki waves a hand, brushing him off. “Whatever.” He puts a hand in his pocket, turning his body to walk away. “Night, nerd.” And he stands there, scanning Izuku’s face. His eyes impossibly soft, his voice impossibly gentle.

It sort of makes Izuku tense, but he stares back all the same. “Good night, Kacchan.” he says with a smile.

Katsuki walks off after a firm nod.

Third Year.

4.

Katsuki and Izuku may have gotten into a routine. Every Sunday, without fail, the Bakugou house’s door is always open and ready to welcome an Izuku Midoriya that’s charged with unlimitless energy that’s ready to talk Katsuki’s ear off.

Him and Izuku have actually been inseparable since they got discharged from the hospital. Izuku is mostly always there when Katsuki finishes his session in rehab, he’s always there hanging about in Katsuki’s room or inviting Katsuki to his room so they can study for upcoming tests and assignments, he’s visiting Katsuki’s family home much often and inviting Katsuki to his family home, and he’s also being used as bait to get Katsuki to hang out with his friends outside of school—Don’t think Katsuki hasn’t catched on.

But Sunday’s is their movie night. Sunday is the day that Izuku shows up at his house at 5 PM sharp to watch another movie or another show of their liking. Katsuki wouldn’t trade it for the world.

“Kacchan!” Izuku says as soon as he opens the door, holding up a bag of food. His eyes are beaming so brightly and his smile is so wide, Katsuki almost forgets to respond.

“Hey, nerd.” he says, clearing his throat. “What’d you get?”

“I know you don’t exactly like fast food,” he starts, walking into the house and settling the food on top of a table. “but I saw this really cool place that apparently sell one of the spiciest foods so I got the spiciest noodles for you! Try them.”

God, Katsuki’s heart is beating at such a concerning pace.

He gives a challenging smirk. “We’ll see, nerd.”

Izuku gives a beaming smile. “Alright, then! What movie do you want to watch today?”

“No idea. You pick.” Katsuki says because the movie is the least that matters right now. It always is. “Just make sure it’s a good ass movie so I don’t bore myself to death.”

“Not fair!” Izuku chuckles. “You say that to every movie I pick.”

“Then pick a good fucking movie, dumbass! Problem solved.” Katsuki grumbles as they walk up the steps.

“I’ll try extra hard to pick the best movie for you, Kacchan. Just wait.” Izuku says, a little distracted while he looks around the house. “Oh, are your parents not here today? My mom wanted me to tell Auntie Mitsuki something.”

“Can’t she just send her a text?” Katsuki tries to reason.

“Hah, yeah.” Izuku agrees. “You know how my mom is though, she’s not the best with technology.”

“What’d she want to tell the old hag anyways?”

“Something about coming over for dinner! She’s recently been experimenting a lot in the kitchen, me as her helper and so she wanted to share some of her new dishes.”

“So were her lab rats?”

“Kacchan!” Izuku reprimands. “Of course not. She’s just really excited about the new cookbook you got her. She says thank you, by the way.”

“She’s already said thank you like a million times!” Katsuki says, shutting the door of his room as him and Izuku walk in and sit down on the floor.

“I know! I told her so, but she’s just really grateful that you remembered her birthday.”

“As if I could with how much my ma yaps about it. Think i’d rather cut my ears clean off then hear about organizing a birthday party for her ‘number 1 best friend!’” Katsuki says with a growl.

Izuku laughs whole-heartedly, lighting up with joy. “Kacchan!” He says, “That’s so rude! I also get pretty happy like that when it’s one of my friend’s birthdays.”

“Yeah, Izuku, I know.” Katsuki rolls his eyes, pulling up the website they usually use for movies. “Alright. Pick a movie.”

“Hmm,” Izuku ponders. “Oh wait! Kacchan, did you hear? They apparently released a movie about what happened at Kamino ward. Apparently it’s called The Hideout Raid.”

“The fuck?”

“Yeah, everyone keeps talking about how good it is.”

“What? You wanna watch that then?” Katsuki asks.

“I mean—If you want! We don’t have to watch it just because I want to watch it! You can choose another movie, I don’t mind—“

“Nerd. I asked if you wanted to watch it. Get to it.” Katsuki says impatiently.

“Oh right…” Izuku answers back, nipping his lip. “I guess I do want to watch it.”

“Then we’ll fucking watch it, damn.”

And so Izuku and Katsuki got comfortable, laying on top of a firm beanbag with their heads bumped together as the movie started playing. That’s usually how their Sundays would go, watch a movie, eat some food, work on homework, and fall asleep.

After finishing the movie, Katsuki and Izuku go back downstairs to find the food Izuku had brought. Hearing it up, setting it on the table, and eating as Izuku ranted on and on about new movies and All Might merch.

“—The movie didn’t get it all accurate, you see? It’s disappointing. They should really work on doing their research before working on any hero movie—“

“Of course you would say that.”

“—Let me finish, Kacchan.” Izuku said with a frown, continuing once Katsuki motioned it so with his chopsticks.  “They’re not like the old age All Might movies, those did their research right. They even personally asked All Might to lead them and give them some tips on how to properly represent his quirk! Talking about quirk movies, some of them have got to check if their fictional quirks can only work in real life. Like in that movie, where the girl can turn into an acid body, but in the result her organs burn down too! How would she even manage to be a sentient being after that! It’s totally weird and there’s not a lot of science behind it. Quirks can totally be unpredictable, but there’s really no chance of that quirk ever becoming something actually real. The poor child who gets it would die so early on!” Izuku stops for a second, clearly contemplating something.

“That got me thinking! If Ashido and Kirishima were ever to have a child, what do you think it's a quirk would be?”

“You just painted a disgusting image in my head, you fucking freak.”

“I’m serious, Kacchan! I’m thinking, maybe being able to shoot up hardened acid? Or have a hardened acid body. I’m guessing they’d get Mina’s eyes or skin, too. It’s also the possibility that it could just have one of their parents quirks, a stronger version or so. I wonder what that would look like. Do you think they’d—-“

His ringtone interrupts them, Izuku jumping at the sudden call. Katsuki groans for a bit after clearly hearing All Might’s voice and theme song as the ringtone to his phone.

Izuku smiles. “It’s Uraraka.” he tells him before picking up, missing the way Katsuki’s face slightly sours and he picks at his food like a little kid being told to eat their vegetables.

“Uraraka, hi! Oh, I’m at Kacchan’s——Oh. Yeah. Sorry. Maybe another day! Totally! ” A pause as Izuku goes beet red. “No okay sorry bye!” and he quickly hangs up.

“Why the fuck are you blushing so much?” Katsuki ask him after Izuku tries to calm down his nerves and abnormally accelerated heart. “Dude.”

“Sorry, Kacchan! Just—uh, she caught me by surprise.”

“What did she say to you?”

“Nothing! Just if I wanted to hang out.” Izuku explains. “Nothing else, hahah.”

“Hang out? Just you and her?” Katsuki asks strangely, his voice taking the highest note he could possibly muster up. It’s still pretty low and it does incredibly terrible wonders for Izuku’s heart.

“Um. Yeah.”

“Hm,” Katsuki says, picking at his food. “Didn’t know you guys were like that.”

“Huh? Like what?” Izuku took a bite of his food.

“All mushy and lovey-dovey together.” he said again, wincing when Izuku spit out his food, clearly perplexed and maybe a little confused at the idea of him and Uraraka ever together.

“What?!” he yelled out. “Me and Uraraka? No! We’re not—we’re not like that!”

“So you aren’t dating yet?”

“There’s no yet!” Izuku yells. After a second, he calms down a little, sitting back down and shaking his head a few times. “I mean, she’s a nice and pretty girl. Very strong and hardworking, but really, Uraraka just a friend.”

“Oh. Does she know that?”

“What? Of course she does. She’s one of my best friends.” Izuku stresses. “Why are you asking so many questions, Kacchan??”

“Stop whining. It’s just obvious pink cheeks has the hots for you. I don’t know how the fuck you can’t tell.” Katsuki says with a shrug, standing up to clean the kitchen.

“No she doesn’t? And let me help you.”

“She does.” the blonde says ago, scowling at Izuku trying to help by passing a wet rag around the kitchen table.

“Kacchan.” Izuku says seriously then with the need to get the point across. “She doesn’t.”

Katsuki stops, raises an eyebrow and quickly turns back around like he just got off-guard by the sound and firmness of Izuku’s voice.

“Okay.”

“And even if she did, I don’t think I’d want to give it a try. She’s.. she’s not my type.”

A silence passed by them. Green eyes stared hard into red eyes, just as if they were trying to ease a worry deep in Katsuki’s chest. Inching closer and closer, the two suddenly felt a pull.

A pull that was quickly broken the second Katsuki shook his head and turnt away.

“Good to know,” he said.

2.

“Bakugou!” Mina yelled as she came strolling into the common room. “Will you join us tonight?”

“Hah?” Katsuki asks, carefully bringing a spoon to his lips with his left hand. He’s staring weirdly at Mina, who’s standing in front of him practically vibrating in her seat. “Leave me alone. The hell you want?”

“Glad you asked!” she exclaimed, her fingers moving in a circling motion and pointing at him in such a dramatized way that makes him think sparkles are also coming out of her ass. “We’re all going to have a sleepover later. You should totally come.”

“Who’s we?”

“Eijirou, me, Denki, Sero, blah blah,  you know!”

“So it’s not another one of your stupid girl nights?” he asked cautiously. You just never know, do you? Last time Mina had roped him into one of her antics, he ended up leaving the room with a hello kitty face mask. (It did wonders for his skin therefore it has become a part of his skin care routine since then, but nobody has to know that.) Either way, no way in hell he was falling for that shit again.

“Nope! You can totally trust me on this. Denki already brought some snacks, we’re all gonna watch a movie!” Mina clarifies.

“Why not just watch it in the common room? Sounds stupid as shit when we have this big ass tv.”

“Because!” Mina says and Katsuki hmphs. He continues to eat his soup, watching as the pink girl sways in her place and moves her head side to side in a defeated way. “C’mon, Bakugou! I’ll see if I can invite Midoriya, yeah?”

“What?” Katsuki asks, a little stunned.

“I’ll personally ask Midoriya to come just for you!”

“Fuck no?! Why do you idiots keep doing that!” Katsuki shouts, standing up. “I don’t need that stupid nerd there to go out.”

“Really? You don’t?” Mina asks in a teasing voice. “Then how about coming to my room later and hanging out with us without Midoriya there?”

Katsuki’s face falls, clearly understanding the trick she just played. He scowls, Katsuki can’t have these idiots thinking that he’s entirely dependent on Izuku’s company to be around other people. He’ll show them! Katsuki Bakugou is independent as hell, always has been, always will be.

“Fine.”

“Great! See you later,” she throws a kiss at the end that Katsuki doesn’t catch.

When did his idiotic friends learn to gaslight him?

Later, when the clock reaches a certain minute at 6 PM, Katsuki heads out from his room to march his way over to Mina’s. He comes to a complete stop, when out of nowhere, Izuku is also walking across the hallway.

They both stop and stare at each other for an awkward minute, the silence shared amongst themselves. It’s Izuku who breaks the silence.

“Kacchan!” Izuku says in his cheerful voice. Damn, the room feels a thousand times lighter. “Are you going somewhere?”

“Yeah,” Katsuki replies. “Pinkie and the others are hanging out today, asked me to join them.”

“That’s great!”

“Whatever. I’ll probably drop by for an hour and then leave. It’s way too late to be doing this shit.” Katsuki sneers.

Izuku gives him a funny look, a pointed one that says he’s about to make an annoying comment. “Of course only you would say it’s late. It’s only 6, Kacchan!”

“Oi.” he warns. “Just cause your sleep schedule is beyond fucked doesn’t mean mine is.” Izuku laughs at this, raising his hands in mock defense. “And where are you going?”

“Huh?”

“Where are you going, nerd? This isn’t the way to your dorm.”

“O-oh.” Izuku says ineptly, the balls of his feet bouncing up and down. He stops for a second, and speaks. “I’m just going to Uraraka’s dorm. She told me she needed help with math and well, I’m good at that!”

“Right.” Katsuki says shortly, licking the top of his teeth. “Well, I’m leaving. Have fun with pink cheeks or whatever.”

Izuku looks a bit dazed, shaking his head for a moment and raising a hand to dismiss Katsuki. “Yeah—yeah, I will. You too, Kacchan!”

Katsuki waves his hand, adding a middle finger at the end. When he’s farther away, he allows his mind to think about the scene that just played. Not your type, huh?Who would’ve thought.

“Bakugou! You made it!” Mina bursts out happily once she opens the door, making way for Katsuki to enter the room. In the mess of cheetah prints and glitter, Katsuki finds that Kirishima is laying down on the floor, Kaminari is on a beanbag, and Sero is sitting on the chair of Mina’s desk.

Upon hearing his entrance, all of them immediately straighten and greet him happily.

“Bakugou! What’s up, man?” Kirishima asks, sitting up and allowing Mina to sit close to him, resting her head on his shoulder with a smile.

“Was honestly expecting Midoriya to come.” Kaminari says with a shit-eating grin, an explosion quickly transforms that into a playful scowl.

“He’s with pink cheeks. Plus, I don’t need that nerd here to hang out with other people.”

“Right, ‘cept you only come when he’s mentioned.” Sero reminds him.

“Hah! That’s true!” Kirishima agrees. Mina is at his side, pouting a bit.

“What’s with the face?” Kaminari asks.

“I’m the only girl here! Jirou couldn’t come, she’s hanging out with Yao-momo.”

Kaminari sighs, disappointed. “I know right!”

“Why not just invite the two of them then? Use your brain.”

All the boys suddenly agree with this, why not invite the other two extras? But Mina gives them all a look that indicates she thinks they’re all stupid.. “Well, idiots. Don’t know if you noticed, but Jirou and Yao-momo definitely have something going on.”

“Hah?” Katsuki asks.

“HUH?” The others ask too, albeit delayed. Extremely delayed. Mina immediately jumps up, her hands in front of her in disbelief.

“You guys don’t know? It’s so obvious!”

“How is it obvious if we didn’t  know?” Sero adds, Katsuki agrees with him.

“Because! You all have eyes!” She pauses. Her mouth dropped a bit. “Wait—wait. If you guys were absolutely clueless about Yao-momo and Jirou, then.. Does that mean you have no idea about the others?!”

“There’s others?” Kirishima blurts out.

Mina hits him in the shoulder, Kirishima flinches jokingly. “Don’t worry, kitten. I would never hurt you.” she says sadly, rubbing nonexistent tears out of her eyes.

Katsuki brings his nose up in distaste. “You two need to be locked up.”

“Shh!” Mina shushes him. “Anyways. I need to bring out the nail polish and face masks for this. You guys just stay still.”

The guys, besides Kirishima who just shrugs and smiles as if he’s been here a thousand times before, share looks of horrified expressions.

“Tch. This is stupid as shit. Why do I give a shit about who's sucking who’s face?” Katsuki proclaims, frowning.

“Jirou is a lesbian?”

“More like she doesn’t care about who she dates.” Mina explains, waking in the room and setting the supplies on the floor. “I mean, what about you guys? I think I’m 100% straight.

Sero seems to be contemplating this, humming as he thinks about his answer. “I don’t know. I guess I’ve always seen myself with a girl, never with a dude.” he stops for a moment, winking at Kaminari. “I'll definitely ass up for Denks though,” and he throws a kiss.

Kaminari, playing along, covers his face and pretends to blush like a middle school girl in love. “Kya! Don’t tease me, my little sunshine nugget!” and he laughs.

“Disgusting.” Katsuki tells them.

“And you, Bakugou?” Kirishima asks him. “I mean, I've never really thought about girls or dudes, but either way, it doesn’t really matter, does it? I’ve got my beautiful girl!”

Mina blushes, pushing Kirishima’s face away. “Ah, you’re too cute! Now stay still. I have to apply your face mask.”

“Yes ma’am!”

Katsuki finds eyes on him, waiting for his answer. He crosses his arms, feeling a bit uncomfortable. “What?”

“What direction do your tastes go, dear Bakugou?” Mina asks.

“Never call me that again, I’ll kill you.”

“Whatever!!” Kaminari sticks his tongue out. “I don’t see why anyone would want to date guys when women are right there. They’re all so beautiful, right, Bakugou?”

“Hell if I know.” Katsuki responds easily.

Everyone in the room gags and gasps.

“What does that mean?!” They all say in unison, Katsuki flinches back at the sudden sound, growling and giving pointed looks at the others to shut the hell up.

“That’s the gayest statement I’ve heard yet, and Denks is one of my best friends which makes this statement crazier work.” Sero says, shaking his head.

“It’s not—“ Katsuki feels a bit embarrassed. “It’s not that! I don’t give a shit what they are, they just need to be able to keep up with me.”

“Hmm, really?” Mina drawls, applying the mask to Kaminari now. “So you’d date a girl who's equally as strong as you, or stronger?”

Katsuki stays quiet, glaring daggers at everyone in the room.

“Yeah, you’re cooked.”

“Went to gayville and everyone mentioned you in the national anthem!”

“I’ll always support you, bro! Gay or not!” Kirishima says with tears in his eyes, standing up and reaching out to give Katsuki a hug. Instinctively, he sets off an explosion in Kirishima’s face, messing up the face mask Mina had applied.

“The face mask!” she cries out. “This is why guys suck. You need to be careful, now I'll have to reapply it!”

“You guys are fucking annoying.” Katsuki scoffs, crossing his arms.

“You know you love us, Kacchan,” Kaminari sings, pissing him off even more.

“Stop being so delusional. There’s a reason you all got therapy in second year.” Katsuki tells them.

“I think therapy was more so because we turned seasoned war veterans at the ripe age of 16, but go off, bae!” Mina replies, dismissing the topic of the war as fast as it came. She turned to Kirishima now, her eyes narrowed in anger. “And you! You need to keep still, Ei, now I need to reapply the mask again.”

“Trust. You should totally relax, my face will feel like a smooth ass after this.”

“Denki gets it!”

“As expected of me,” he says with a smug expression. “Let me do Sero’s, I totally got the hang of it.” He waits for Mina to give him an answer, said the girl puts her finger on her chin as if she’s thinking hard about it, and passes the bottle to Kaminari.

“Fine. I’ll finish Kirishima, you do Sero, and then I’ll get Bakugou.”

“Woah.” Sero says, raising his eyebrows. “I’d love for you to do me,” he tells Kaminari who only laughs along.

“I’m not putting that shit on my face.”

“It’s not shit, it’s super good for your skin.” Mina whines. “Even if you don’t need it! How is your skin so smooth, anyways? What do you use?”

“It’s more about what I don’t use. I don’t go around putting horse vomit eaten by a dog and then shitted out.” Katsuki scowls.

“Genetics,” Sero drawls in a sardonic tone. “Have you guys seen his mom?”

“Of course we have. I nearly fell to my knees!” Kaminari says.

“Yeah! And her quirk too, right? Keeps the skin super healthy!” Kirishima says, but gets told off for moving his mouth too much by Mina.

“Oi.” Katsuki warns. “Watch it.”

They all laugh at this, continuing to do what they were doing previously.

“Wait!” Mina suddenly shouts. “We completely lost the plot! I was supposed to tell you guys everything you apparently seemed to miss!”

“Nobody gives a shit about that!” Katsuki shouts at her.

“Don’t lie! Every time I’m talking to the girls in the common room, your ears visibly get bigger and I swear you hear everything we say!”

Upon being caught, Katsuki turns away and huffs. “Bakugou being nosy in 2024? Diabolical work.” Kaminari says with a snicker, covering his face with one hand while the other works on applying the substance to Sero’s face.

“That’s so not manly, bro!”

“Whatever!” Katsuki defends. “Don’t act like you losers don’t ever intrude on my conversations with Izuku.”

“That’s so different! You’re both so loud, there’s no way we can’t hear you.” Mina says.

“Well, how about covering your ears?”

“Should take your own advice,” Kaminari says, chewing on a potato chip. “Stay still, alpha. I’m not done yet,” he tells Sero who’s laughing.

“I apologize.”

“On skibidi?”

“On skibidi.” Sero promises.

Katsuki and Kirishima share a look, but it’s more so Kirishima smiling so widely that he thinks he’ll explode and Katsuki looking like he’s about to explode the whole room, including himself.

“Anyways!” Mina grabs the attention of all of them. “Back to the topic at hand. Who do you guys know is dating?”

“What, like in 2-A?” Sero asks.

“The whole school in general.” Mina elaborates.

“Hm, well, I had a feeling Nejire-san and that other girl—what was her name? She had an electricity quirk, I remember!”

“Yuyu-san!” Mina tells him— who the fuck is that? “Yeah. Her and Nejire-san definitely had some kind of spark! They always denied it, though, so I wonder if they worked things out!”

“Ojiro and Hagakure are definitely together, I know that. There’s no way they aren’t.”

“See! You guys do know!” Mina says excitedly, making her way over to Katsuki, who is super aware of why. He jumps up off the floor, moving away from her as she tries to cage him and put that disgusting thing on his face. “C’mon, Bakugou!” she whines. “Don’t tell me you’re scared of some silly skin care product?”

“Man, that’s hilarious. Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight getting bested by a product?” Sero says with a loud snort, Kaminari joins in too.

Katsuki’s hands twitch with the urge to reach forward and choke. Unfortunately for him, but fortunately for them, Katsuki has been working on his temper. “Fucking fine! But I'm washing this shit off first.” and he sits, allowing Mina to put the cold brush on his face, scrunching it a bit.

“Don’t scrunch your face!” Mina scolds. “It makes it harder.”

“Fuck off.” he says, frowning.

“Anyways!!” Mina starts. “I bet you guys didn’t know Tokoyami and Tsu had a little something something!”

“No way?”

“Tokoyami actually likes someone? That’s news to me.”

“It’s fucking not. The amount of sappy shit I’ve seen him do for that toad is insane work.” Katsuki states.

“Yup! It’s so cute! They always go out during the weekends, they say it’s not a date, but it totally is. I actually have no idea why they aren’t dating yet.”

“Must be because Tokoyami is too shy. We should help him!” Kirishima says, determined.

“Ooh, you should. He definitely needs the push.” Mina agrees with a bright smile.

“Is that all? That shit was totally useless knowledge.”

She gives him a nasty look, pressing the brush deep into his skin and smirking even if Katsuki lets out some explosions from his hands. “Well let’s see. Oh! Komori, from class 2-B, is totally in a love triangle. At least that’s what it seemed like. Apparently, Shinhai had the biggest crush on her and he thought that she was totally in love with Setsuna, and turns out they were actually just good friends.”

“Actually? I thought they were together too. They’re always holding hands in the hallways and all over each other! If I was in the dude's place I would just give up.” Sero chimes in.

Katsuki grumbles when Mina finishes up and goes over to Kirishima for him to put on her mask, but she suddenly stops in the middle of the room. “I totally forgot to take my makeup off.”

With a mumble of, ‘hang on a sec’ Mina runs out of the room and comes back with some wipes to wash off the makeup. “Oh so, as I was saying, I heard that Shinhai went kinda crazy after the war ended and confessed everything to Komori, telling her that it’s okay if she doesn’t feel the same, blah, blah, and that he understands but that he needed to get this off his chest because it was killing him, but Komori didn’t know what to say and she was like ‘let me think about it’, and then a few weeks later, Setsuna confesses. It’s such a weird triangle, I think they’re both trying to win her over.”

“Super romantic, right?” Mina says as she runs a wipe down her cheek.

“I don’t know if confessing right after a war is the best choice, but good for them! Shinhai was really manly for talking about his feelings like that.” Kirishima nods his head.

“I mean, who does Komori like? It’s kinda messed up to lead them on like that.”

”I agree!” Mina says. “But who knows.”

“Hm,” Katsuki huffs, pursing his lips.

“Wait! You guys know Awase right? He totally had a crush on Yao-momo.” Kaminari brings up.

“Oh my god, yes! He tried to confess to her like two times.” Mina remembers.

“That weirdo asked me like twenty times if Momo and Megatron were dating.”

“Wait— he asked you if Iida and Yao-momo are dating?” Kaminari asks, his voice cracking up in a laugh. “That’s funny as hell! He asked me if Todoroki and her were dating.”

At this, the whole group class. Even Katsuki, who shares a few chuckles. “That confession was the funniest shit I’ve seen in a long time.”

“It was pretty awkward,” Kirishima says, rubbing the back of his head.

“I felt so bad for him. Yao-momo was so confused too.” Mina sympathizes. She throws the wipes on the bin in the corner of her room before walking over to Kirishima and asking him to apply the  mask. “Either way, I hope he’s doing well. He deserves someone as amazing as Yao-momo.”

“Can’t blame the guy. He has great taste, Yao-momo is a wonderful girl.”

“Yeah!”

“Do you guys remember that one girl that wouldn’t stop stalking us when we went bowling?” Sero randomly blurts out from his starfish pose on the floor. “She was crazy obsessed with Bakugou.”

“Ugh,” Katsuki curls his lip thinking about it. “She wouldn’t get off my dick. Wasn’t even old enough to be acting like that.”

“Holy shit, yeah. She was like 13 at best.” Kaminari says and then huffs. “It’s not fair; how come someone like you gets girls! You don’t even want that kind of attention!”

“Hah, yeah, he prefers hard, man pecs instead of boobs.”

“I’ll make sure you regret living your life if you continue to utter another fucking word,” Katsuki says in a low voice. Sero and Kaminari jump into each others arms in mocking fear and pretend to shake.

“Don’t hurt us, oh great omega god!” they both yell.

“What the fuck is an omega.” Katsuki asks, his body sparking up in explosions.

“You don’t want to know.” Kaminari says, gazing into the sky as if he’s reminiscing about old times. He makes a fist with his hands and lets out a cry. “Alpha/Omega dynamics… It's been a while since I've heard those words.”

“You guys are such fucking weirdos. Why do I hang around you again?”

“Because you L-O-V-E us!” Kaminari says, jumping onto Katsuki and enveloping in a hug. Katsuki immediately grabs him, flipping him over and making him groan once his back hits the floor. “Rude. Could’ve been gentler.”

His whines go ignored. “You know,” Mina chimes in. “Bakugou isn’t ugly at all. He’s actually very handsome. Especially now that he’s calmed down more! He used to make these really ugly faces in first year!” she says from her spot on the ground, Kirishima on her lap.

“I agree!” Kirishima says. “Midoriya always said you weren’t the most popular among the girls, but I think they were just scared of approaching you since you were so mean!”

“Mhm!”

“Or maybe they felt the raging gay aura from miles away. Girls are good at that, you know? Knowing if you’re gay, I mean.”

“Got a lot of experience with that, dunce face?” Katsuki says with a mean smirk.

“Pft! The girls totally love me.” he replies, pointing to himself with a thumb.

“Do you guys think Todoroki is gay then?” Sero randomly says. “Cuz, you know, lots of girls seem to like him, but they never confess to him or anything. You think they can tell he’s for the other team?”

“I don’t think half and half plays for any team.” Katsuki states.

“He’s totally handsome, but yeah. He’s dense when it comes to love. I don’t think he even knows how to tell if he’s in love.” Mina says.

“Poor roki.” Sero says with a somber voice.

“You know, Shoji and Koji are confusing. Sometimes I think they’re just friends and then I find them sharing a dessert in front of a deer out in the forest. Are they dating or not? It’s hard to tell!”

“Those extras are fucking gay.” Katsuki says with a snort.

“What about Iida? I’ve never seen him show any kind of attraction towards anyone.” Kaminari ponders.

“He has a stick up his ass that’s why.” but then Katsuki pauses, thinking back on a recent memory. “I did see him being totally fucking corny while talking to goggles.”

“Goggles? Who’s that?”

“That—uh, that girl with the pink hair from the support course.” he says, waving his hand around trying to explain.

“Oh, you mean Mei?” Kirishima finally says, bringing a finger up as if a lightbulb went off in his brain.

“Yeah, yeah. Went to check some things and saw those two corny idiots laughing and feeding each other. Was weird as fuck.”

“Knowing you, you probably screamed so loud and embarrassed poor prez in front of his girl.”

“Hah,” Katsuki lets out a sharp laugh. “Hell yeah I did.”

“Well, what about Midoriya, then?” Kaminari brings up. “I’ve never seen any girls going crazy for Midoriya.

“Huh?” Sero offers dumbly. “Oh! Me neither, dude. But they totally should! He’s a hell of a snack!” he relied then after, nudging Kaminari at noticing the way Katsuki had seem to go quiet.

“Hmm, I wonder if Midoriya tastes go a certain direction—“ Mina starts, but Katsuki cuts her off, saying:

“That nerd is definitely straight.” The way he says it is strange. A tightness pressuring the words as if it’s hard for him to say it out loud, but it has the volume of all the statements Katsuki barks out confidently.

“What makes you say that?”

“Cuz.” He shrugs. “Him and pink cheeks seem all disgusting  like that.”

“Oh well, that’s not true.” Mina says, dismissing it quirkily. “I can’t tell you guys anything, because you know, girl code. But! I do know that Ochako fully considers Midoriya as just a friend.”

Katsuki seems to consider this, a spark glowing deep in the red of his eyes as he bites on his bottom lip. Finally, he turns his head and says, “Like I care anyways.”

After that, they have a bit of mindless conversation, pausing in between to take the disgusting goopy substance from their faces and returning back to Mina’s room, gathering the snacks and continuing the conversation.

“Okay, I gotta know. Monoma from class B.” Kirishima suddenly blurts out, everything pauses, seemingly thinking about it.

“He’s a total asshole. How the sigma did he get a statue and I didn’t?” Kaminari says with a disapproving tone.

“I don’t really pay much attention to him. I still hate his guts for what he did to us in the sports festival! Total dick.” Sero says.

“Right! I swear he’s just being mean to mean! I mean I know Bakugou doesn’t mean what he says, but how do I know that Monoma doesn’t! He’s insufferable and so sarcastic and for what..” Kirishima rolls his eyes. Mina laughs a lot, running her hands through his hair.

“Wow, babe. Didn’t know you had all of that in you!” she says with a teasing smile.

“Sorry. That was mean. It's just he plays unfair and it angers me a bit. Cheating is so not manly!”

“He’s alright.” Katsuki suddenly says, making everyone in the room raise their heads in total shock. “Don’t get it twisted, idiots. He still pisses the shit out of me, but he’s one of the main reasons why nobody suffered greater injuries out in that field, or died. Even if I'm still pissed at what that asshole did during the first year, he’s got my respect now.”

“Wow..” everyone says, unsure of what words to form to try and respond. Kirishima starts tearing up a bit, sitting up from Mina’s lap and putting his hand on his chest with a thud.

“Don’t act so surprised. We all fought and sacrificed everything to protect others and each other,  just like true fucking heroes. I wouldn’t expect anything less from the people in the hero course and support course, especially you idiots. We did what we had to do, we lost what we lost, and it wasn’t in vain. That’s all that fucking matters.”

“You’re so manly, bro!” His voice cracks and Katsuki only finds it a bit disturbing. “You’re so right too! We owe him and everyone a huge thank you!”

“I guess we do,” Kaminari says, pursing his lips and shrugging his shoulders.

“Didn’t really think of it that way. I sort of try not to think much about it.” Sero admits, his voice softer than it has been in a while.

“Don’t get all sappy on me now, losers.” Katsuki says, his head turned to the side like he’s embarrassed, his ears red. Mina comes crashing down on him, he hadn’t even noticed her running towards him.

Easily he catches her with his good arm, trying to push her away, but she’s relentless and only grips harder on the hold she has around his neck. “You’re so sweet, Katsuki! I know you always act like you don’t care about anyone and you try to act tough, but you’re such a huge softie! I love you so much!”

“Wait—Oi! Katsuki!? I didn’t—“ he tries to say, but gets cut off from the rest of his friends coming to hug him too.

“We love you so much!”

After her sobs, she separates herself— the others following— and laughs at the way Katsuki’s shirt is completely soaked from her tears. “Sorry,” she giggles.

“That was great! Can we do it again without Bakugou exploding us all?”

“You can try. That was the first and last time I’m ever doing that shit again.” Katsuki huffs.

“You guys should call me Mina. Ashido is overrated!” she jokes, but it’s obvious that she’s being serious.

From this, the others follow. “Well then, be free to call me Denki! Or Denks, you guys already call me that anyways.”

“I didn’t, bro! You can call me Eijiro.”

“Ei,” Mina says with a proud smile.

“Or yeah, that too!” he says with a wobbly voice, trying hard not to cry again.

“Hanta, then?” Sero says with a smug grin. Everyone nods at this, then they slowly turn to Katsuki, hesitant and strange expressions on their faces. It’s quite something he’s never seen before.

He struggles a bit, his eyes scanning each and every one of their faces. Finally, he scoffs and says, “Fine.”

The rest immediately jump, high fiving each other and yelling things like, ‘Let’s go, Katsuki!’ He’s regretting admitting it, but the sight brings a soft small smile to his face.

“I’m sticking to my nicknames, though, fuck you guys.”

3.

It was a cold night outside. Izuku, much like Kirishima, Kaminari, and Sero were in the living room as Katsuki flexed his hands around the hand grips. He’s been getting better at it, working so hard the past year and a half.  He can now move his arm and work it naturally as before. Of course, it still needs work and it’s too weak to support explosions, but Katsuki will continue to exercise it and before they know it, he’ll be out in the field as a pro-hero.

That’s why they’re gathered in the common room late at night, cheering him on. It’s such a moment that Izuku has tears in his eyes as he tells Katsuki to not give up. Kirishima, Sero, and Kaminari smiling so brightly as they watch their friend.

“You’re so manly, bro! Your arm is already improving much faster!” Kirishima shouts excitedly.

“Yeah, man! I say give it another year and you’ll be two-handed explosion boy again!” Kaminari cheers on, Sero to his side, giving the widest smile and a thumbs up while he nods along.

“Don’t you have anything better to do? Stop saying stupid shit.” Katsuki says with a growl. Izuku laughs at this, covering his mouth with a resounding slap once Katsuki gives him a pointed look.

“Kacchan,” Izuku drawls. “I’m so proud of you.” he says with teary eyes.

“We’re all so proud of you, bro!” The others chime in, opening their arms and moving towards Katsuki who looks extremely disgusted at the incoming figures.

He jumps back, “Don’t touch me, dumbasses! Finish playing your stupid games! Stop looking at me, it’s fucking weird!”

Izuku smiles fondly. Kacchan is still Kacchan no matter what.

Katsuki drops the hand grips on the table and sits back down on the couch, his right arm coming to rest on the top of a cushion as always. Izuku follows after him, dropping his body to his side and giving Katsuki a smile that makes the blonde’s cheeks lift up, even if he tries to play it off as an annoyed scowl.

“You annoying idiots. All you do is bust my eardrums with all your screaming,” he says.

“You could say it’s payback from all the times you made our ears explode.”

“Hah?” Katsuki warns, raising a dangerous pale eyebrow towards Sero. The others laugh at this, adding on to the conversation with insults of their own. It makes Katsuki rage, pointing an accusing finger at all of them as he tells them to shut up.

Izuku laughs at the scene playing in front of him. The yelling Matsuki stops in his tracks, turning his head so fast towards him that Izuku genuinely worries for his neck.

“Tch,” Katsuki clicks his tongue, dropping back down on the couch and turning his head away from Izuku.

After that, the room turns fairly quiet. Well, as quiet as it can get with the funny sounds effects coming from the TV as Kaminari, Sero, and Kirishima play their video game, Katsuki yelling in the back and telling them what to do, getting angry once they mess up and have to restart again.

“If my arm wasn’t fucked up right now, I would so fucking win.” he insists. “You losers can’t do anything.”

With his head resting on top of a pillow, Izuku watches every expression crossing Katsuki’s face. It’s angry—as usual, he thinks with a huff—but it looks much calmer. His eyes aren’t strained anymore, his voice isn’t forced to sound rougher. To Izuku, it sounds so soft.

His eyes droop down, feeling unbelievably heavy. The warmth of the room, or Katsuki’s natural warmth that comes from his quirk are like an embrace that caresses Izuku’s very soul, making it cloudless and still.

He feels thoughts leave his mind, his body acting on complete instinct, moving closer to the warmth that he craves. Finally, his eyes drop close.

Everything comes to a stop.

Suddenly, the room is so quiet and moving so slow, everything is blurring out besides the awareness Katsuki has of the heavy weight that fell onto his whole left side.

What the fuck. He thought. What the actual fuck. His heart is accelerating at a concerning pace, something that would worry him if he wasn’t so aware of the fact why it was happening.

At the unexpected silence from Katsuki, the three boys turn around to see the astonished, stunned, and completely horrified expression on their friend’s face. He’s sitting completely still, his body as tense as a statue like if he were to move, the world would end.

For him, maybe it would.

Kaminari speaks first. “Dude, you look like you’re about to piss yourself.”

Katsuki’s eye twitches when Sero snorts so loudly that snot comes out his nose, giving them both a threatening glare.

“We should be quiet. Let’s not wake Midoriya up,” Kirishima says, sensibly. Katsuki nods slowly; almost robotic. “Um—“ the redhead starts, sharing an awkward look with the others. “Should—Should we carry Midobro back or..?”

Katsuki shakes his head quickly, growling as quietly as he can when Kaminari and Sero try to sustain their laughter. ”Get the fuck out of here,” he says hotly. “Turn that shit off.”

“Right.” Kirishima says dumbly, reaching for the control and pressing the red turn off button. “Are you gonna wake him up?”

“None of your business. Go away.” Katsuki says as quietly as he can.

Sharing a look with the others, Kirishima shrugs and decides to grant Katsuki’s wishes, the others following him back to their respective rooms.

Kirishima and Kaminari stop for a second just before they walk around the couch where Katsuki is sitting, both of them giving him a thumbs up. “We support you, dude!” They say in unison and run off without giving Katsuki a chance to yell back at them, laughing like idiots all the way back to their rooms.

Katsuki gives a nasty snort from his nose, scrunching his face in disgust. He moves his head to the exact point where Izuku’s hair is tickling his chin and not just his neck, his expression softening.

Izuku’s mouth is open, long breaths coming out of his nose as well as drool collecting on Katsuki’s shirt. It's disgusting, Katsuki wouldn’t tolerate it if it were anyone else.

But because Izuku is finally sleeping soundly on his shoulder, finally after Katsuki notices the appearance of insane eyebags on his worn out face, he just gives a sigh and drops his head on the back of the couch.

In the quiet of the room and the night, a promise is once again said. Never for Izuku to hear, but always for Katsuki to repeat until he makes it real.

4.

The first time Bakugou Katsuki felt utterly confused, maybe a bit horrified after the war ended, was when Monoma Neito had walked into his hospital room.

It was just right after he had woken up, right after he had cried in front of Izuku and had been forced by the doctors and teachers to come back to his room. He was extremely high on painkillers, a bunch of medicine; the room was spinning and he felt a bit of an out of body experience.

That was when the click of a door sliding opened distracted him from counting the amount of black spots that would appear on the wall, he turned his head, expecting a doctor, but no. In the middle of the door stood Monoma Neito. His posture was tense, his eyes were as alert as a hawk’s and he had his chin raised.

The excruciating eye contact came next. Time flew slow as Monoma scanned every inch of Katsuki’s face, then his chest where his heart was—beating, thankfully—and finally the heart monitor.

Katsuki narrowed his eyes, reading to make Monoma get the hell out, but what he didn’t expect was the nod the other blond gave before he closed the door softly and walked off in hurried steps.

What the fuck was that?

When he had finally gained some awareness and had slept off some of the drowsiness the insane amount of drugs had given him, Katsuki now had to deal with a fucked arm which he had to work to get back to normal. In rehab. He had also remembered that Monoma Neito had come to visit him, even if for a second, to find out for himself that he was fine.

And that’s when it hits. Monoma fucking Neito had been the one that had cancelled out the quirks of Shigaraki during the war, one of the people that, without him, they wouldn’t have won.

Katsuki nodded. Back in school, when Monoma had seen his statue, Katsuki had deemed it as fair. Without him, Japan and the world couldn’t have possibly continued to exist the way it does right now.

That’s why during a free period, Katsuki had managed to track him down.  The idiot looked somewhat confused, just the same as Katsuki had been when Monoma had visited him.

“You did good.” he cleared his throat, one of his hands in his pockets “During the war, I mean. Or else everything would’ve gone to shit. Uh— Are your eyes.. uh. How are they doing?”

Monamo looked fucking terrified. He was shocked, startled, stupefied. His stupid face was frozen in a disgusting blank state except his eyes that were wide, that kept blinking and his face had gone slightly pale. He looks fucking ridiculous, Katsuki thinks.

“Oi. You look like you’re about to shit yourself.” Katsuki said once again, watching as Monoma shook his head and blinked a few times more. “Calm down, fuck. I just asked you a question. Are your eyes better? Keeping them open for that long must’ve been a shit ton of work.” Another few seconds passed, Katsuki feeling more and more awkward. “Are you gonna answer the question or just keep blinking at me like some fuckin’ frog?”

Monoma cleared his throat. A loud sound came from the back of it. “They’re—they’re fine. Thank you for asking,” he said politely. “What about your arm? And you’re heart”

“Huh?” Katsuki asked dumbly. He looked down at his limp arm, oh. “My heart's beating. My arm..It’s been better. It’ll heal.”

“Good.” Monoma said and quickly turned, walking away.

Weirdo

The next day, as Katsuki walked along the hallway, he encountered Monoma again. He was standing against the wall, almost like he was waiting for something. When Katsuki stopped, both of them locking gazes, a silent question passed between them.

“Your eyes?”

“Fine.” … “Your arm?” … “Your heart?”

“Doing better.”

“Good.”

And with a nod, he walked away.

This, soon and surprisingly enough, turned into a routine. Every free period, a certain hour and minute, Monoma would be standing on the side of the wall; leaning on it and waiting for Katsuki to come and ask him how everything was.

Whenever one of Katsuki’s friends would pass with him, they would ask: “What was that?”

Katsuki would reply with: “Check up.”

An understanding had settled between them.

Monoma was still a dick, but Katsuki had learnt to tolerate it. Especially whenever someone or something weird would happen in the hallway, right in front of their eyes, they would share a look and judge it silently, sometimes loudly and then walk away.

Like this one time: Katsuki had been walking towards the spot for the daily check up, when suddenly, a student’s quirk had malfunctioned and suddenly a humongous walking dick was dancing in the middle of the hallway.

Katsuki turned his head quickly only to find that Monoma was already looking at him, his lips in a thin line. They had both laughed at this together. Which is something they would never admit to anyone.

Katsuki never found out what that random extra’s quirk was nor would he like to know.

There was also something akin to a handshake—well, something like that. Katsuki was the one who had started it. One day, when he turned his head to meet Monoma’s eyes, he quickly gave him a dirty look.

Quickly, he schooled his expression, but Monoma had done it back. So now, every time they locked eyes, the two blondes would look each other up and down, narrowing their eyes at each other in a disgusted look and then walking away with a slight smirk on their features.

The questions had stayed the same.

Katsuki had taken to showing Monoma the process instead of telling it to him. For example, the first few months of second year, his arm was a lip noodle he could not move, but by the end, he could atleast bring it up and down and flex his fingers a bit with a little bit of effort.

He had shown Monoma this, the other blonde silently watching him and nodding in approval.

In the beginnings of third year, Katsuki had shown Monoma how he could now put some pressure on it, moving it up and down and flexing his fingers. He still couldn’t use explosions on it and he couldn’t write, but atleast it wasn’t a limp fucking burden on his side.

Monamo had smiled at him this time, nodding softly and walking away.

There was also times the stupid idiot infuriated Katsuki too damn much.

This time, he was walking down the hall with Izuku, listening to the nerd ramble on and on about some random quirk, listening to the analysis the nerd had put together for them.

When they finally reached the check-up spot. Monoma was there, his arms crossed in a smug way, his lips in a dangerous mischievous curl. As always, they gave each other a dirty look, Katsuki showed him his arm, Monoma nodded, but that was not the end.

Monoma stayed for a few seconds more, looking in between Izuku and Katsuki, narrowing his eyes at Izuku—the oblivious fucking nerd that had no fucking clue what was happening— and smirked like a cheshire cat.

“Hm,” Monoma simply said. Katsuki gave him a pointed look, making Monoma raise his arms in defense and finally walk away.

Izuku stood there dumbly. “What was that?”

Katsuki sighed and kept walking, Izuku following him. “It’s the check-ups with the copycat loser.”

“You have daily check-ups with Monoma Neito?” Izuku asked, a little shocked. “Wow, Kacchan. I didn’t know you two had become friends!”

Were they friends? Honestly Katsuki could not give two fucks. Monoma had figured out the exact thing that had been eating Katsuki inside out and outside in so now he had to go find the dumbass and kill him, effectively shutting him up forever.

“Yeah, it’s whatever.”

The cherry on top of these out of nowhere check-ups happened on a random day.

Katsuki was walking down the hallways, naturally heading down to the spot where he and Monoma usually meet up. Turning his head, though, he feels his eyes pop out of their sockets.

He takes a step back, showered in bewilderment with a huge urge to laugh in the face of irony. “Mind fuck!” he yells so loud while his eyes move back and forth in between Monoma and Shinsou.

The two extras are close together, practically sharing breaths. Monoma is cornered against the wall as Shinsou cages him in, a hand on his waist. The halls are relatively empty at this hour, so Katsuki guesses that’s why he found them in this compromising position.

He bursts out laughing before he can contain himself, a hand on his stomach to stop him from falling on his knees due to laughter. Shinsou’s face is as stoic as ever, a calm but flat look on his features while Monoma dies from embarrassment. “Bakugou.” he says.

Katsuki raises a hand, still laughing. “Don’t let me stop you.” he says with a smirk.

Monoma curses under his breath, but he still catches Katsuki’s gaze. “Bakugou-san.” he says, trying to school his expression back to normal and get rid of his blush. “Your arm?”

“Feeling much better.” he says, his mirth falling off a little now. “Your lips?”

Monoma gives him a pointed look. “I’ll kill you.”

Katsuki gives one back, “I’d like to see you try.”

Monoma’s signature shit-eating grin comes back for a second, he rearranges his tie. “Would you like to hear the story of how we got together? I recommend you take notes, though, this might help you.”

Shinsou, confused as ever, looks back and forth during the banter between his boyfriend and classmate. “Uh—“

“You little shit, I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

“Don’t you?” Monoma says.

“Better keep your kisser shut, trash mouth.”

Monoma gives a smile, pretending to lock his lips shut and throwing away the key. “Don’t worry, your secret is safe with me, but there’s only so much time before it eventually breaks out!” he says dramatically, striking that shitty pose he usually does. While Shinsou’s eyes soften tenderly at this sight, betraying the disappointed shaking of his head, Katsuki can only turn his nose up at the disgusting sight.

Either way, he gives him an amused look, his eyes twitching. “Don’t sweat too much, I’ll make sure to be two steps ahead, asshole!” and with a middle finger dancing in the air, Katsuki walks away.

….

”Neito. What was that about?”

“Don’t worry about it, you’ll see.”

EXTRA:

“Tch,” Monoma sighed to himself for the nth time in the past 5 minutes. He and Monoma were both in Shinsou’s assigned dorm, Monoma on the bed as his boyfriend finished a couple of class work he had due tomorrow.

Shinsou turned towards the distressed sounds, his face flat. “What’s wrong?”

Monoma faked a gasp. “Woah, you finally remembered I existed? Me? Your super handsome boyfriend?” he said in a sarcastic tone, a hand on his chest and rolling his eyes when Shinsou’s expression kept flat and didn’t give anything away besides some amusement.

“I was finishing my homework,” Shinsou reminded him, grabbing his phone and unplugging it, making his way over to his bed where Monoma was.

At Shinsou finally dropping on the bed, Monoma’s shoulders relaxed and he scooted closer to the wall to make some space. Shinsou dropped his head on the pillow, Monoma following the action.

“Why do you keep sighing?” Shinsou asked softly, his warmth breath hitting Monoma’s lips.

“It’s not fair you got into class A.” he says, deadly serious.

“Nei—“

“Their dorms aren’t even that great! They’re dirty, did you notice?” He rolls his eyes, again. “Plus it’s full of dummies and idiots, obviously you would succeed far more in class B, I’m telling you, you should talk to Mr.Aizawa, I’m sure Vlad King would be honored to take in the boyfriend of the great Monoma Neito—“

Shinsou bonked Monoma on the head, saying “Stop that,” making him shut his mouth to glare at him with the most betrayed expression ever. Shinsou can’t help but crack a smile at the pitiful sight of his pouting boyfriend, throwing a tantrum like a kid complaining about his favorite toy that was taken away and put somewhere else.

Monoma seems to take great offense in this because he quickly gets up, narrowing his eyes down at him.

“Are you laughing right now? Oh, you’re such a little shit, Hitoshi, I’m going to—“ he moves to get up out of the bed, but even though Shinsou can’t stop laughing, he grabs Monoma quickly by the waist and pulls him down back closer to his chest.

Monoma mumbles angrily, muffled by Shinsou’s jacket, his chest taking in all the vibrations, smiling even wider. The blonde frowns at this sight, but his eyes have softened and he’s not fighting against Shinsou’s hold anymore.

“You’re too dramatic, Neito.” Shinsou says, pulling Monoma up and closer to his face, pressing a kiss on the side of his cheek  and then on the crease in the middle of his eyebrows.

“You’re impossible. I hate you.” Monoma says, a moody expression on his face. Either way, he doesn’t reject Shinsou’s touch, rather he melts into it like honey and hums for more. “Where do you get off on insulting your boyfriend, huh?” he mumbles close to Shinsou’s neck.

“I don’t get off on insulting my boyfriend, I actually think he’s kinda cool.”

“Kinda cool?” Monoma says incredulously. “Hah! Kinda cool,” he mutters under his breath like a mental asylum patient. “He just said ‘kinda cool’ can you believe this? Can you believe this, Hitoshi?”

“He said that?” Shinsou played along, tilting his head to the side in question.

“Yes!” and he slaps his thigh dramatically. Shinsou gives a short laugh, pulling down Monoma by his shirt and making sure they’re face to face, breathing in each other's breaths.

“He doesn’t sound like a very good boyfriend,” he says. His eyes never leave Monoma’s face, especially when they’re taking in the flushed expression and the mildly irritated scrunch. It’s the best thing he’s laid eyes on in a while, and he pulls forward for a quick kiss that Monoma easily gives back.

When he opens his eyes again, half lidded, it’s to find the smallest of smiles on his boyfriend’s face. It’s great.

Adjusting his head to hide in the crook of Monoma’s neck and relishing in the feel of his soft fingers slowly scratching his scalp, Shinsou whispers, “I’m tired,” before his eyes fall close.

EXTRA #2:

“Shinsou… you’re dating Monoma!?” Kirishima exclaimed, feeling a bit as if he was losing his mind. “Out of everyone, Monoma!?”

As Shinsou only shrugged and dragged Monoma by the hand away, the blonde boy stuck his tongue out, giving the class a smug smirk behind his boyfriend’s back.

“Ei—“ Mina tried to say, but was cut off by the breaking sound of Kirishima’s jaw that was still open. With a face that read ‘i’m-so-over-this’ she closed it with her hand and dragged Kirishima away.

“Monoma?!” Kirishima still said.

“Eijirou, babe, you look ridiculous.”

Upon hearing this, Kirishima closed his mouth again with a click.

“Woah…I’m total support of the gays, for sure! But Monoma? HereI thought he would just hate on people until his brain sort of rotted away.”

“Wow. Descriptive.”

5.

“Kacchan, look!” said Izuku, holding a plushie that had the same hair and uniform as Katsuki gently in his hand. His smile was so wide and excited. “I can’t believe we finally have merch! I mean, you guys haven’t even become pros yet.”

“We literally fought in a war in front of the whole world, no fucking shit we have merch.”

“I’ll buy this one! And I saw a dynamight jacket, too. I’ll totally buy it. It looked comfortable,” Izuku said absentmindedly as he checked through the hanging clothes, talking animatedly.

..

“Hah, Izuku. Look.” Katsuki said then, holding a green haired plushie with a uniform, squeezing its body hard in his hand until the face was all squished up too.

“Why are you suffocating it, Kacchan..” Izuku deadpanned. Maybe a little worried for his life.

“It’s ugly as shit. Didn’t even get your freckles right.”

“What do you mean?” Izuku asked, for all he knew, the plushie had the 8 freckles on his face—well, 4 ½ now that he has the scar.

“You have a small one high up next to your eye. They fucking forgot it.” Katsuki said. Just like that, like it was no big deal even though Izuku took a step back. How did he know! “Whatever, heh. Look at this dunce face toy. They got his ugliness right.”

I’m going to die. Kacchan will be the death of me.

6.

“Let’s demolish these rides!”

Pause.

How did we get into this situation, you ask? Izuku isn’t quite sure. He wasn’t really complaining anyways, amusement parks were fun. For the most part.

What he does now, though, went a little like this:

They were all sitting in the common, some were working on some final homework they needed to turn in for the semester. It’s the second to last week of school, in a few days they would all be graduated and off on their own.

It sounds scary. To Izuku at least. The embers weren’t going to last for long and he’s sure by next year they would be gone. He would have nothing else to do anymore, well, thats a lie. He’s thinking of teaching at UA, which isn’t the ideal dream of anyone, but the thought of guiding young heroes and helping them improve sounds exciting.

Katsuki had agreed with him, telling him that Izuku could do anything if he set his mind to it—those were not his exact words, but painting Katsuki in a nicer light doesn’t hurt anyone.

Anyways, Katsuki’s leg was propped up on Izuku’s thigh while he talked to Sero about a video game he had recently gotten. Ochako was on his side, a little farther away, typing away something to her parents.

Suddenly, a loud crash startled a lot of them.

Katsuki jumped up, ready to attack, but he scoffed when the loud crash was discovered to come from Mina and Yao-momo running into the room excitedly.

“Guys!” Mina said, gathering the attention of the whole room. “Don’t you think we should do something fun for the last two weeks we have?” “

”Yeah,” Tsu agrees. “We definitely shouldn’t just spend it in the dorms the whole time. We should do something as a class!”

“Sounds fun, we’re in!” Sero, Kaminari, and Mineta all say.

“Wait, do something like what?” Ochako asks.

“Okay! Me, Yao-momo, and Jirou we’re thinking. We weren’t exactly sure what to do, but Jirou mentioned that a new amusement park opened a few weeks ago. How does that sound?”

“Amusement park, huh?” Ojiro said, looking at Hagakure who was basically about to burst from excitement.

“That sounds great!”

“I’ll go.” Todoroki spoke up.

“Us too!” Sato, Koda, and Koji confirmed.

“Um, I’m not so sure. I don’t think I have enough money to pay for my entrance,” Ochako said sadly, playing with one of the pillows. To Izuku’s side, Katsuki snorted loudly, earning himself a nasty look from Izuku.

“I’ll pay for your ticket, Uraraka.” Todoroki offered.

“No!” Yao-momo interrupted, “No, that would be unfair. It was originally our idea and I’ve got tons to spend, so it would only be appropriate that I pay for all of your tickets.”

The whole class suddenly spoke up, telling the girl that wouldn’t be fair and they would all pay for their own tickets.

Well, except for Katsuki. “I’ll pass.”

“What?!” Mina exclaimed.

“I don’t wanna go,” Katsuki said.

“Kats, don’t do this to us!” Mina whined, joined by Kaminari and Sero.

“Bro, you have to go! We only have two weeks before we all graduate! We’ll be so busy who knows when we’ll see each other again!”

“Good.” Katsuki said, scoffing.

“We all know that’s not true, Bakugou.” Ochako rolled her eyes.

“You’re definitely going! I’ll make sure you do!”

“What’re you gonna do, huh? Drag me by my feet? I’ll explode your hands off.” Katsuki threatened.

Mina huffed, crossing her arms against her chest. “Midoriya, you’re definitely going, right?”

“Uh, I’ll have to ask my mom, but I’m sure she’ll let me!”

Mina smiled, pleased. “See, Katsuki? Midoriya’s going. You might as well go too. “

“What the fuck does that even mean?”

“That you’re a double package! You come together, wherever Midoriya goes, you go.” She replied with confidence.

“Don’t be stupid.”

“You’re making it seem like they’re conjoined twins!” Kaminari joked, laughing to himself while everyone winced at the terrible attempt at humor. “Sorry, guys. Continue.”

“..Anyways. You’re totally going, I said so.”

“Yeah, Kacchan! It sounds fun, doesn’t it?”

Katsuki’s eyebrows furrowed angrily, frowning immensely, but he didn’t say anything else. Izuku laughed at this, gaining his attention and a slap to the head.

“Shut it, nerd.” Katsuki muttered.

“..Bro folded immediately.” Sero whispered to Kaminari, laughing in the corner.

“Guess we’re going to the amusement park!” Hagakure announced.

That was the plan. On the upcoming Saturday, they would all meet up and get a bus to the park. Expenses paid by Yaomomo and Todoroki, who wouldn’t back down even if the whole class told them they didn’t have to pay for anything.

And that was how they ended up here. Getting off the bus and gathering in a group once again, they all waited for some to stretch from the ride.

“Alright then! Let’s go, shall we?”

They split up like this. Mina and Kirishima, Hagakure and Ojiro, Yaomomo and Jirou, Shinsou and Monoma—who Shinsou invited—the obvious couples who intended to make this a date. Sato, Koda, Shoji, and Tokoyami all went together to ride the haunted houses and such. Sero and Kaminari had chosen to go together too, Mineta catching a ride on Kaminari’s shoulders.

Tsuyu and Ochako, plus Iida and Izuku. Or so he thought.

“Uraraka.” Katsuku said, approaching their group with a no-good smirk. “Here.” he said, passing her something Izuku couldn’t quite catch. “Buy yourself something nice.”

For a second, Ochako looked extremely confused. Mostly because Katsuki would never actually do something like that for anyone so upfront without putting up a front that he didn’t want to or that he was forced to. Right, yeah. Before her face immediately fell.

“This is two American dollars.”

“Yup. You’re welcome.”

“If I exchange this, it will be 290¥.” She said again, her face completely stoic as she spoke in a flat voice.

“Could buy plenty with that.” Katsuki told her, shrugging his shoulders.

“Bakugou Katsuki, I’ll wring your neck out!” Ochako says aggressively, her neck twitching maniacally.

“Kacchan, are you serious?” Izuku said, shaking his head.

“So serious.” he said with a smirk, grabbing onto Izuku’s wrist and forcefully dragging him away from his group, telling him that it was better he come with him because his friends would just ride the kiddie rides and it’d be boring as hell without him.

Obviously, though, Izuku protested none. He did want Katsuki to join him and he was going to ask, but before Katsuki had dragged him away, Izuku had the idea that Katsuki would want to go with Sero and Kaminari instead of him, but maybe Mineta joining them is what irked Katsuki off a little. Izuku shrugs, Katsuki is going with him anyway.

“I’ll be keeping this!” Ochako shouted back after them. They gazed at each other, both of them laughing hard as they looked towards Ochako.

And so with a map in hand and Katsuki to his side, Izuku decided to check which ride they would go to first.

“Where are we going first?” Todoroki asked from behind them—when did he get there? No one knows.

Both Izuku and Katsuki jumped at the sudden voice.

“What do you mean, ‘where are we going first?’!” Katsuki said, waving around quotation marks in the air.

“I’m going with you guys.”

“What?! The hell you are. Go join dunce face or something!” Katsuki growled.. Izuku tried to calm him down, pushing him away so he would stop yelling.

“Ah, I forgot to ask. Can I join you guys?”

Before Katsuki could blow up and shoosh Todoroki away, Izuku spoke up, a hand over Katsuki’s mouth so he wouldn’t interrupt him, which—Izuku should’ve expected the wet lick of saliva that his hand was assaulted with. He breathed deeply in, biting his bottom lip.

“Of course you can, Shoto!” he tried to say cheerfully while wiping his hand aggressively on his jeans. “You didn’t have to ask!”

Katsuki turned a bit tense, blinking at Izuku like he didn’t know what else to do. He had a visibly frown on his face. “Right, Kacchan?”

“No—“

“Right, Kacchan?” Izuku smiled a threatening smile, talking behind his teeth. Katsuki immediately stopped, scoffing, scowling, and crossing his hands. Izuku turned back to Todoroki. “Alright then! I think we should go to the Snakeskin roller coaster first. What do you guys think?”

“I’m not familiar with that—-“

“Whatever.” Katsuki said, shooting a glare Todoroki’s way. “It better be good.”

“Let’s go then!” Izuku said, grabbing the map and walking ahead to guide them to it.

While leading ahead, Izuku was oblivious of the whispers behind his back.

Stomping on Todoroki’s foot and grabbing him by the collar of his shirt, Katsuki aggressively told him, “Get the fuck out of here, half and half bastard!”

“Why?” Todoroki asked, unbothered.

“Because!”

“Because what?”

Katsuki only glared at him, walking faster with his hands in his pockets. The annoyed look on his face quickly melted away when the green-eyed boy turned around and shot him in the heart with a radiant, tender smile that made flowers blossom.

“Isn’t this great, Kacchan? I’m so glad we’re doing something together as a class for our last few weeks. I think I’ll really miss everyone.”

Katsuki stayed quiet for a second, his eyes wide in a strange expression, his face the most relaxed it has ever been. He only blinks for a second, forgetting that he had to reply back.  “Uh–Yeah, whatever.”

“I agree.”

“No one asked you, shitstain!”

“Kacchan!”

Three boys stood in front of a tall roller coaster, a snake head as the train you sit in. There were millions of people in this park, a thousand in groups with their family, friends, and such. Screams of excitement, fear, and adrenaline can be heard all throughout the park as well as music and the many food stalls and restaurants around here.

“This ride looks boring as hell,” Katsuki commented.

“Kacchan, you’re always going to say that!” Izuku told him.

“If they're all trash, then yeah!”

“Bakugou, you should give it a try first.”

“Yeah, Kacchan, stop judging things by their covers! Maybe it’ll surprise you!”

“I roller coaster myself on a daily basis with my training, you think some measly roller coaster will surprise me?” Katsuki said, raising his eyebrows.

“I know you’re amazing, Kacchan.” he says like it’s obvious. “But this is different.” Izuku started a little sidetracked, but he got there.

“How?”

“Are we going to get in line?” Todoroki said, finally breaking the two other boys from their own little world. The line was getting pretty well, so it’s better that they get in line now then later and have to wait even more.

Izuku is a little grateful it’s not exactly that hot out. The clouds are covering the sun, the air is not as warm as he expected it to be, and there’s plenty of shadow for them to sit under. If it were any hotter, he might’ve been in a bad mood, too.

“Fuck, I hate long lines! These people are all such slow walkers!” Katsuki growled, loudly, gaining dirty and confused looks from crowds of people.

“Maybe you should be a bit more respectful, kid.” Someone told him.

“Hah?” responds Katsuki. “Who you calling a kid?”

“Kacchan!” Izuku whispered, his legs already trembling at what’s to come.

“Who else?” The man shouted. “If you're going to talk bad about people, it’s better you do it quietly. It’s immature behavior to yell out frustrations like that in public!”

‘Jeez, this guy seems strange.’

Katsuki didn’t seem to take it well, though, because he immediately went into an offensive position, his teeth baring as he said, “I’ll show you immature, old man! How about you mind your business and stop listening to what I say!”

The man gasped in disbelief, “Oh, you little–”

Todooki immediately sprang into action, making a barrier with his body in between the man and Katsuki while Izuku pulled him back and told him to calm down.

“Kacchan, can you not?” Izuku said with a sigh, shaking his head.

“Hmph, it’s not my damn fault. Someone needs to tell that ancient artifact to mind his own business!”

“I get it, but you did kinda yell it out. Everyone heard.”

“Should’ve ignored it then!”

Against himself, Izuku giggled at the childish antics of his childhood friend. “Unbelievable, Kacchan.”

Katsuki immediately stopped at the sound of Izuku’s laugh, turning his head with a look that said he desperately wished to explode right now. “Whatever! Let’s go the fuck back to the line before they steal it from us.” he grumbled.

Izuku nodded along, still giggling. “You’re silly, Kacchan.”

“Hah?” Katsuki whipped his head around. Izuku expected him to be a little angry at such an accusation, but his ears were turning red and so Izuku laughed a bit more.

“Nothing,” he said. “Let’s go, it’s almost our turn!”

….

“That’s a really huge drop,” Izuku said, a little panicked as their seats moved back and forth, getting ready to drop.  They were strapped up into the seats now, safely restrained. The process to get on the seats was a little complicated, mainly because Katsuki wouldn’t stop complaining about the fact that they wouldn’t get the first row seats, but the back instead. Izuku thinks the back row are the best seats though, although he doesn’t really know why.

While Izuku sat on the far right, Todoroki sat on the left.

In the middle, Katsuki mocked him. “Bro does this shit on a daily basis and he’s over here saying, “what a huge drop!” he imitates in a nerdy voice, nudging Todoroki with his elbow while he laughs to himself.

“I told you already! Roller coasters are different!”

“No they’re not!” Katsuki yelled back, stopping for a second. “Icyhot.” he called out.

“Yes, Bakugou?”

“Why the fuck are you holding my hand right now.” He said, his eye twitching a bit. What? Izuku thought, reaching his head over to catch the very real sight of Todoroki’s hand intertwined with Katsuki’s.

“I’ve never been on a roller coaster before, but they usually did this in the movies Sero showed me.” Todoroki explained. “Shouldn’t you hold Midoriya’s hand too?”

Katsuki, unexpectedly startled by the question, flinched back a few. His ears turning red by the second, aggressively making strange noises. “What—ugh—what the fuck are you talking about?!? Don’t piss me off, you seriously believe everything you see on the screen?!”

Trying to keep calm, Izuku laughed awkwardly, scratching his head, “I don’t think that’s how it—“ The roller coaster went down, effectively catching Izuku off guard and making him close his eyes as his hands gripped the bar in front of him.

To his side, Katsuki’s frustration went out a little, his shoulders sagging while his face stayed in its constant state of annoyance. Todoroki, though his eyes were wide with amusement, entranced with wonder and delight at the way people shouted and screamed in joy and fear, raising their hands up.

For a second, he raised his arms with them, the hand that was joined together with Katsuki’s flying out too, still holding on. Surprisingly, Katsuki only rolled his eyes and continued to stare at the sight of an Izuku with tousled hair, his eyes forcibly closed shut, the brightest smile on his face.

It made Katsuki smile too. A small, private tender smile.

“I liked that one!” Izuku said once they got off. “What did you think, Shoto?”

“Tch, that asshole wouldn’t let go off my hand.” Katsuki grumbled. Turning his head to Todoroki, he gave a teasing smirk. “Scared, were you?”

“Not at all. It was fun, we should go on more.” Todoroki said, offering them a warm smile that Izuku was quirk to return.

“Obviously!” Pulling out the map, Izuku began to search for other rides. “Where should we go next then? I heard the vengeful river is fun! Or the hello kitty wonderland has a bunch of cute rides too, more tame! There’s the swirling tea cups, or the spinning chairs! How about the carnival, I heard that one goes really fast and kind of tilts!”

“The slingshot!” Katsuki shouts with confidence.

“What about that one?” Todoroki suggests, pointing to a deathly spinning machine that resembled Samurai swords.

“The tower of horror? I heard that one sounds fun.”

“God damn it! I’m sick of your rambling, just pick a place that ain’t lame!”

“Okay, okay, Kacchan! You don’t have to explode my hair!”

In the end, they ended up riding all of those. They had the whole day to spare, coming early in the morning, and so they went ride to ride while Katsuki went on and on about how none of these weak rides could beat him. Todoroki seemed to be having fun, so did Katsuki, and that’s all that really mattered to Izuku.

They met a few of their classmates on some of the rides, taking some breaks to participate in some of the fair games that were around, which is how Izuku had gotten a big All Might plush that he had seen, won by Katsuki.

“Take it, nerd. Didn’t win that shit for nothing..” Katsuki said with a satisfied smirk, his burning ears betraying that cool demeanor. Izuku took it with open arms.

“Thanks for getting it for me, Kacchan. You’re amazing!l Izuku said with a grin, his cheeks starting to hurt from the intense wideness of it.

“You’re really good at these, Bakugou.” Todoroki commented.

“You underestimating me, half-and-half?” Katsuki raises a brow. “‘Course I’m good. I’m the best at everything.”

“Yup!” Mina says as she walks by, her hands wrapped around Kirishima’s arms. “Even though Midoriya could’ve easily gotten that plushie all by himself,” she says with a teasing laugh, covering her face as Katsuki blows up  at her angrily.

Izuku gives a tired laugh, one Todoroki nods at.

“I bet you 3,000¥ they start dating before the school year ends.”

“I don’t know.. I don’t think we should bet on our friend’s love lives.” Kirishima says hesitantly as they walk along together. Enjoying the fresh breeze and the mischievous grin on his girlfriend’s face.

“C’mon, Ei! You do know the girls were betting on us too?”

“Huh?” says Kirishima dumbly, a bit shocked. “They did?”

Mina laughs at this, dropping a kiss on his face the farthest she can reach while on tip toes. “Of course, dummy! Hanta and Denks were in on it too. Maybe even Katsuki.”

“My best friend placed a bet against me? I feel so betrayed!”

“Yeah, but he was the only betting that we would never confess and just die.”

“Ah, of course.”

They rode some more rides, crossing Jirou and Yaomomo who were feeding each other some mochi on a near-by bench. Sitting just under a tree, the two girls looked positively content just existing near each other.

“Public indecency!” Katsuki calls out as they pass by, making the two girls jump up in surprise as Katsuki meanly laughs back at them.

“Asshole!” Jirou yelled back.

Izuku immediately apologizes, urging them to continue doing  whatever they were doing before Katsuki rudely interrupted, bowing his head apologetically.

“Those three, I swear.” Yaoyorozu says, shaking her head. “What are we going to do with them?”

“Who cares about them,” Jirou replies back. “Forget it. Do you want to go ride the swirling tea cups?”

“Ooh, that does sound fun.”

During the vengeful river, a water-based ride, they encounter Sero and Kaminari, Mineta not anywhere to be seen (Though they think he went to peek at the girls in the park. At this, Katsuki promises he would smack him dead). Due to them being farther into the line, they decide to join them and ride it with them.

Well. That almost ended in Kaminari almost falling and drowning off the floatie.

“Did you just splash water on me!?” Katsuki yelled, feeling the wet spot on his hair.

“Noo,” Kaminari had responded.

Obviously, it was the wrong answer. Katsuki had reciprocated at once, sticking his hand out into the water and throwing it onto Kaminari’s face, breaking out into a water fight that had left all five of them soaking wet in the end.

Katsuki had almost tried to push Kaminari out, yelling, “Die, dunce face!” A sadistic smile on his face. That had obviously caught the attention of the workers, who immediately scolded all of them, telling them they would be banned if it happened again.

At least Katsuki was smiling.

On the way to ‘Rock Rock Go!’—A great name for a roller coaster, Izuku thinks—they had come across Shinsou and Monoma. All five of them had decided to ride the roller coaster together. Of course, Katsuki and Monoma, being the most competitive ever raised on this planet, had engaged in a silent challenge of not looking away the whole time.

“Bakugou.” Monoma addressed with a flat tone.

“Trash mouth.” Katsuki replied.

“Hah, it's ironic of you to say.”

“I’ll explode your face off,” Katsuki threatened.

“Try all you want.” Monoma smiled, glancing discreetly towards Izuku with his eyes.

“What is happening?” Todoroki suddenly asked, looking in between the two blondes. Shinsou and Izuku shared a sigh, both done with the situation already.

Even when they were done tucked into their seats by the restraints, unpausing the game they had started, they wouldn’t look away. It was strange, to say the least. Could they just communicate by talking like that? Creepy.

Finally, as soon as it was over, the two looked away. Monoma was complaining about something to Shinsou, while Katsuki was off shouting at Todoroki about something he did that pissed him off.

“Asshole,” Katsuki said. It had a different tone, along with a nod from Bakugou that indicated a goodbye.

“Bye-bye,” Monoma says in English. “Loverboy.”

Katsuki growled, flipping Monoma off with finality before dragging Izuku and Todoroki away.

..

“I still don’t understand what that’s about.” Shinsou blurts out while they walk away.

“You dont need to know. You just have to wait and you’ll see.” Monoma said, pressing his finger to Shinsou’s lips and putting his lips on his skin, applying a kiss on his cheek with practiced pressure.

The suddenness of it all makes Shinsou jump and flinch back from Monoma’s space, causing the blonde to smile at him, his eyes reminiscing crescent moons.

“You’re such a romantic. How did I ever get so lucky?”

“Stop that,” Shinsou says, trying to calm down his reddened face and beating heart.

“I didn’t know they also had mansion roller coasters.” Todoroki said while they were passing through a haunted mansion.

“Tch. That’s not a roller coaster, dumbass. That’s a haunted mansion.” Katsuki corrected with a nasty look.

“We should go to that one!” Izuku chimed in. “Ochako told me it was really fun.”

“You’ve been texting her?” Katsuki asked Izuku.

“Well, yeah. She’s been sending me pictures of Iida trying out the rides!” the boy explained, laughing a little at the memories of the funny pictures. “I’ll show them to you guys later.”

“We should go into the haunted mansion.” Todoroki suggests. “Hopefully Bakugou doesn’t explode anything out of fear.”

“The hell? You think shitty low budget haunted mansions scare me?”

Izuku gives Katsuki a look, mostly because he knows that he is a little distubered by ghosts and also.. “Kacchan, you did explode a haunted house before, though.”

“What the fuck are you yapping about? I didn’t do that shit.” Katsuki denies.

“No! I remember!” Izuku exclaims, laughing when Todoroki perks his head up, visibly interested in the conversation. “We came with ours moms when we were in elementary and you got so scared that you blew up some of the animatronics and stuff!”

“Shuddup, Izuku!” yelled Katsuki. “I was just defending myself. Those stupid actors were definitely trying to get into a fight!”

“I think they were trying to do their job, Bakugou.”

“Nobody asked for your opinion!”

“I remember auntie was so pissed at you. She had to pay all the damages that day!” Izuku continues, adding on to the story with uncontrolled laughter.

“What-the fuck-ever. Are we entering the haunted mansion or not, pussies?!”

“Do you promise to not blow anything up?” Todoroki says (tries to tease? Izuku’s not sure, it came out very flat sounding).

“How about I promise to blow your fuckin’ face off, hah?!”

“Kacchan!”

“I’d prefer it if you don’t.”

“Yeah.. please don’t.”

After the ride, which Todoroki hadn’t stop complimenting no matter how many times Katsuki told him to shut up, they walked around a bit more. Izuku was starting to feel a bit hungry, so were the others—especially when he hadn't had anything to eat since 4AM when Katsuki had gotten up early to make him some breakfast because he knew he would be up early to train a bit more. He’s gotten really good at using his right arm now!

“Are those.. what you would call cotton candy?” Todoroki spoke. “I’ve never tried any.”

“Try some actual fuckin’ food first, then.” Katsuki told him, taking a hold of his shirt and dragging him away over to a food stall. It was pretty basic, some Taiyaki,Takoyaki, etc. “These suck dick. Why don’t start selling some healthy food?”

“Kacchan, this is healthy food.”

“Not when it comes from a fast food restaurant.”

“Okay, well.” In front of him, Izuku shrugs, looking back to the menu. “You could get curry? Extra spicy kind.”

“How about worrying about what you’re going to eat instead of what I’m getting, dumbass!” Katsuki told him, hiding his face in the menu and muttering nonsensical words in anger.

“Is there soba?”

“You have a menu, don't you? Last time I checked your eyes worked perfectly fine.” Katsuki said sarcastically, earning a small laugh from Izuku.

“You.. checked my eyes? When?”

“Oh my fuck, Icyhot!” Katsuki shouts, slamming his head down on the table so roughly that Izuku kind of starts hyperventilating. “It’s a saying, don’t explode your brain thinking too hard about it.”

“Oh, okay then.” Todoroki continues, unbothered. “I don’t think they have soba, I’ll just take curry.”

“Yeah, me too!”

“Order ‘em extra spicy and watch how I beat you losers!” Katsuki challenged,

“No, thank you. I want to enjoy my food.”

“Boring,” Katsuki drawled, dragging a thumb against his throat. “What about you, nerd!?”

Being unable to refuse the challenge, Izuku immediately agreed. “Fine!” he said, determined with a fist in the air.

..

..

“Midoriya, are you doing okay?” Todoroki asked, his eyebrows turned downwards in concern at the scolding heat invading Izuku’s face. He could barely breathe, why did he agree to this challenge again?

“Hah, you backing down, I-zu-ku?” said Katsuki with a winning smirk, eating a spoonful of hell incarnate without so much as a blink. “Told you I’m better.”

Oh right, that’s exactly why.

“Yeah–yeah, Kacchan, you really are!” Izuku told him once he took a big gulp of milk. “It’s impressive how much spice you can take!”

Katsuki looked away, annoyed. “Tsk. This is mildly spicy for me, dumbass. This place can’t even get it right.” he scoffed. “And quit your praise! I don’t need it!”

“Bakugou, could I try some?”

“Hah? Katsuki echoed, a little shocked and disgusted towards the suggestion.

“I want to see how spicy it is.” Todoroki asked again.

“What–Who do you think you are?” Katsuki exploded, grabbing Todoroki’s collar and making him see the stars with how hard he was shoving him around.

“Ka-”Izuku coughed up a part of his lung because he jumped as soon as the commotion started. Also his throat was burning.  “--Kacchan! You can’t do that here! What if we get kicked out!?”

Katsuki clicked his tongue, but he did let go of Todoroki. “Then maybe tell this freak to stop trying to mooch off my plate!”

“He literally just asked you if he could try a bit.” Izuku sighed, shaking his head. “It’s fine, Shoto! You can have a bit of mine.”

Katsuki froze for a second, looking in between Izuku and Todoroki, his mouth tense in a nasty scowl. Before Izuku could blink, he was pushing Todoroki back and shoving a spoon full of spicy curry down Todoroki’s throat.

“There!” he added. “Now you can shut the hell up.”

“Um.” he said, still blinking.

“You too, Izuku!”

“Bakugou, did you just spoon feed me?” Todoroki asked after swallowing, his tone conveyingno hint of teasing. He put a hand on Katsuki’s shoulder, closing his eyes, and giving a slight nod, he said, “I’m glad we have reached this level of friendship. Let me do the same.” and with that, he picked up a spoonful of his own curry, moving it towards the blonde.

Katsuki, frozen in a state of shock, didn’t shut it down because he was too busy processing the insane statement that had left Todoroki’s lips. Izuku sat there, blinking away the image of Todoroki feeding Katsuki.

“Kacchan–”

“Icyhot. You’re disgusting as shit.” he said. Izuku had expected Katsuki to blow the whole place up, or for Todoroki to end up in space by an unfornatute use of howitzer impact, but Katsuki’s face showed no such thing. His eyebrow was twitching and he wouldn’t look away from Todoroki. “If we don’t leave right now, I swear to fuck I will make sure this building crumbles on top of you.”

Wow, Izuku thought. Katsuki sure has worked on his temper!

As soon as Todoroki stepped foot outside, a number of explosions that sort of damaged Izuku’s eyes happened in quick succession, each and every one blocked by Todoroki.

“Don’t do that ever again, Icyhot!” Katsuki yelled. “You hear me? I’ll kill you! You’re fucking vile, you piece of shit!!”

With a tear from his eye, Izuku looked down in shame. He spoke too soon.

After Katsuki calmed down–which only took a few minutes since Izuku broke it off easily, telling Katsuki that he shouldn’t do that, especially with civilians around.--So now Izuku was dragging Katsuki by the wrist, the blonde with an extremely pissed off look, as him and Todoroki talked about Mirio’s debut as a hero.

For just a second, a skip of his heart in confidence, Izuku allowed his hand to slip from Katsuki’s wrist to carefully grab a strong hold of his hand. It was warm, and calloused. Everything Izuku had imagined. It wasn’t like when Katsuki had his gloves on and Izuku had to keep wishing for a moment where he could get to hold it, skin to skin. He gulped a little, regulating his heart beat to be normal once again after his two seconds of bliss were up.

He continued to talk.

“---The people already love him too! I can’t wait to see all you guys work alongside him, I’ll make sure to be watching all the fights.” From next to him, Izuku didn’t hear or see the conflicted mutters and weird gazes the blonde was shooting at him, his hands gripping tighter in a fist.

His fingers twitched with the need to reach forward and chase after that touch again. But Katsuki didn’t and Izuku would never know.

“Crepes?” Katsuki asked ever so softly then after, that Izuku didn’t think he heard him right. Turning around, he asked him to repeat himself.

“Fuck. Crepes!” Katsuki yelled out more like himself. “Do you want crepes?”

“Crepes?” Izuku echoed, his eyes scanning Katsuki’s face for anything but a furious blush making itself known behind his neck. “Oh.” Izuku said then again, thinking about couples splitting up crepes and eating them together in a bench.

Katsuki hadn’t meant it like that, obviously not. But Izuku’s wretched brain can’t stop making up delusions about a faraway universe where Katsuki had meant it like that.

“Nerd, what the fuck?” Katsuki brought him back to reality, Izuku’s body hurting from the high drop to earth he just got. “You look like you’re going to explode. I just asked if you.. wanted crepes.” he repeated it again, his voice struggling at the end.

“Um–well–Yeah! Yeah, sure. I need something sweet to replace the taste of death in my mouth.”

Katsuki snorted. “Wasn’t even that spicy.”

“It was, Kacchan! Your taste buds just stopped working from all the intense spices you’ve been eating since you were 4 years old.”

“No, the nerves on my tongue are just as badass as me. Not my fault you grew up eating like a little princess.”

“You’re impossible,” Izuku grunts in frustration. “Ah right, Todoroki, do you want some crepes?”

“Why not. Is Bakugou paying?”

“Not for yours!”

“I was going to say you could use my dad’s card.”

“I don’t want daddy’s money! Keep that disgusting shit in your pockets!”

“I don’t mind, you can spend all you like.” Todoroki still tried to offer, but Katsuki had already walked away, a middle finger in the air telling Todoroki, ‘Fuck no.’

“That’s just Kacchan’s way of saying you don’t have to pay.”

“Bakugou isn’t very good at saying what he actually means, then. . You know, he’s been acting strange this whole time.”

“I know!” Izuku completely agreed. “He’s not telling me something, but I can’t figure it out! It’s sort of bugging me. In the past, me and Kacchan never really had proper conversations, or talked about things that were bothering us. I thought now that we’re much better, we could do that now, but he’s not talking to me!”

“Maybe he’s scared?” Todoroki guessed, his eyes deep in thought. “I think you both are hiding things from each other. You should talk about it.”

“What–” Izuku whipped his head, wincing at the volume of his voice. “What do you mean we’re both hiding things from each other?!” he said, a little quieter, but still coming off aggressively desperate to know what the other had meant.

“I don’t know. Everytime you look at each other, it’s almost like you want to shout everything you feel, but something is keeping you from doing it. Fear, maybe? I’m not too sure, actually. The air is strange around you two.”

“The.. air?” Izuku questioned, deeply confused. “I.. I guess that's true. It'd be a lot easier if Kacchan just talked to me, though!”

“Maybe he’s waiting for you to talk to him first?”

“That’s not like him at all.” Izuku whispered, the end of the sentence struggled, sounding almost like a question. Izuku knew Katsuki, he knew him well. He was the type to say what he feels up-front, no sidetracks. He always said what he meant and he didn’t let anything distract him from his goals, so if something was bothering him, he would say or act on it.

Todoroki just shrugs. “I don’t know what else to say, Midoriya. I feel a bit awkward talking about you and Bakugou. I don’t try to come in between you two.”

Izuku laughed at this, apologizing to him for springing all his feelings onto him for no reason.

“Alright, fuckers.” says Katsuki as he comes back, carrying two crepes. “Bought only two ‘cause I wasn’t going to waste my money on you idiots.”

“Only two? I thought you wanted to eat some too, Kacchan! If you want you can have one of those and I’ll just buy another!”

“What—“

“No, Midoriya. I’ll just pay for another one.” Todoroki offered.

“What?” Katsuki said irritably. “No, let’s just share this one.” he continued then, lifting up the one hand carrying a large crepe and the other being shoved Todoroki’s way.

Izuku was sure his body had malfunctioned right then and there, a tingling sensation running down from his head and towards his feet as he stood there processing what exactly Katsuki had said. His blood pressure was rising, his heart beating at an exaggerated intensity while his chest was imploding in on itself.

How dare Katsuki stand there and tell Izuku they should share a crepe, the wind blowing on his hair in a perfectly natural way, his eyes so bright, so—so red and bright,  his face so calm, his voice so tender and the sleeves of his shirt hugging his biceps. That was totally uncalled for!!!

Sharing a crepe?!! Like a couple?!!! A couple!!!???

“Oi, Izuku?” Katsuki tried, waving a hand in front of his blown wide eyes. “Dude, what the fuck?—“

“I’ll take this one, Kacchan! No problem, it’s fine, we don’t have to share, don’t even worry about it!” Izuku suddenly said, snatching the crepe out of Katsuki’s hands and breaking out into an incomprehensible sea of mumbling.

“Uh.” Todoroki said, his hand still in the air with no crepe to receive.

“Oh my god, Todoroki, I totally just stole your crepe! I’m so sorry! I’ll buy you another one, I swear!” Izuku apologized, immediately searching for his wallet while a tensed Katsuki was already on his way to stop him after a few blinks and shakes of his heads, his eyes narrowed in anger.

“Don’t waste your money, nerd! Just eat your damn crepe already!” he shouted.

“I will get another then. I’ll be right back.” Todoroki announced, already walking towards the line and dreadfully regretting so when he took notice of the line.

Katsuki stopped him, his eyes were squinted a bit, looking bored and over it. “Don’t bother, Icyhot. The line’s fucking long and your slow ass will most likely just make our time even more limited! We still haven’t gone on the supposedly ‘hardest ride.’ and I’m still tryna show you fuckers who the real winner here is!”

“Bakugou.. Are you asking to split the crepe?” Todoroki asked as hesitant as he could with his chronic illness of stoic expression.

“I ain’t eating this shit by myself. It’s fucking huge,” Katsuki further explained, ripping off a piece and thrusting it near Todoroki’s mouth right before taking a huge bite himself and almost finishing the poor crepe in one go.

Damn it, Izuku thinks. He should’ve taken that offer!

“You gonna eat all of that yourself?” Katsuki asked him, his lips were pursed and his tongue was running through his teeth as he waited for Izuku to answer.

“Huh—I mean, I guess so! It’s not that much anyways and I really did need something sweet to balance out the spicy!”

“Tch,” Katsuki clicked. “Stupid nerd.” he said, going quite.

“What do we do next?” Todoroki—who Izuku totally forgot was there, don’t blame him. Todoroki could be a lot silent whenever he wanted to be—asked, his hands in his pockets as he looked awkwardly towards the two other boys, a crinkle in the middle of his eyebrows which showed how much he was creasing them in confusion.

Either way, the three of them set off again. It was already pretty late, so they had decided that they would only ride 1-2 more rides, depending on the time. It was a lot less crowded in the early morning.

After a while though, Katsuki was starting to look well pissed off at the amount of people pushing past him forcibly, even resorting to pushing some himself in rage (Izuku had to tell him to knock it off.) And honestly, he understood. Todoroki himself was starting to get uncomfortable and annoyed with the amount of people around.

“Next person who dares to fucking push me is getting a fucking hook to the groin!” he yelled out aggressively, the sea of people surrounding them quickly washing out in fear.

“Kacchan, you can’t say that out loud,” Izuku sighed in desperation.

“It’s almost 2:30.” spoke Todoroki. “Should we just leave now?”

“Only good idea your brain has come up with, hot-n-cold. Let’s get the fuck outta this shithole.”

And that’s how they ended up waiting by the tree their classmates said they would all meet up. Under the shadows, Todoroki was sitting upright and elegantly as he always does meanwhile Katsuki props his legs on top of Izuku’s lap, his head resting on the arms behind his back with his eyes closed. Izuku himself was layed back on the chair, his legs manspreading—something Izuku has gotten used to not doing due to Ochako complaining her having no space on the couch when she sits next to him. Or anyone really. He doesn’t like to inconvenience anyone in the trains.

Katsuki heaved a heavy sigh. “It’s already 3. Where the fuck are these shit brains at?”

“Give them a little more time, Kacchan. This park is huge, they probably just got lost somewhere.”

“Well, call them! I already texted shitty hair and pinkie to hurry the hell up. Shit, who knows? They’re probably making out somewhere. Horny fucks.”

“I don’t think Kirishima would do that..”

“Hah! You don’t know shitty hair then. He’s weak to the fucking knees for that freak!”

“Hanta said they were on their way. Kaminari just got his hand stuck on a railing.”

“Since when are you on first name terms with tapeface?”

“…I’m not sure.”

Katsuki gave him a strange look-over, squinting his eyes before he decided that he didn’t exactly care. “Whatever.”

“It’s weird you didn’t even question Kaminari getting his hand stuck..” Izuku said.

“Don’t give a shit.”

“Deku-kun!” they heard, quite near, from left. Ochako was walking their way, dragging a Iida that was covered head to toe in plushies, shirts, and sunglasses. On his left, he was suffocating a giant brown plushie bear, his left hand holding an ice cream cone.

Tsu was holding hands with Ochako, them both approaching quickly with smiles on their faces. “Iida offered to carry all our stuff!”

“Wow! You guys bought so much stuff,” Izuku tells them with a slight concern in his voice. “Why?”

“Oh! Some we won, we mostly bought some candies and the shirt we thought it was funny.”

“Ain’t that heavy, four eyes? You’re probably sweating balls under all that.”

“Nope! It’s okay. A lady should never carry such heavy stuff.

“Iida. Do you need help?” Todoroki asked, all gentleman like.

“..Yes, please.”

“Well!” Ochako said, clasping her hands together. “What did you guys do?”

“Oh! We mostly just went on a bunch of different rides and then got something to eat.”

“Bakugou split a crepe with me.” Todoroki said, almost proud of it.

“Uh—what?” Ochako said, trying to blink away her confusion.

“Stop fucking saying it like that!” Katsuki yelled. “I wasn’t gonna spend all my money on stupidly expensive diabetes inducing shit! It’s obvious we had to split it cuz Izuku ripped the other out of my hands before I could blink. Like always.”

“Are you calling me fat?”

“With the way you were stuffing your face, yeah!”

They all shared a laugh for a moment. “Oh my god, Deku-kun! I totally forgot to tell you this!” Ochako said, her eyes wide in desperation to get her story out. “You know how we all went together, right? Well, we came across Tokoyami and the others, so we decided to just enter the haunted house all together, and so Tsuyu was so scared that she jumped into Tokoyami and both of them fell to the ground—-“

“Are the others going to be here soon?” Tsuyu interrupted, clearing her throat to obviously change the conversation. Ochako gave her a smirk, while all the others shared confused looks.

A nudge on his shoulder told him that he would know later.

“We’re not sure! They haven’t texted us anything. Except for Sero who said they were a little delayed because Kaminari had an accident.”

….

“No, dunce face didn’t piss or shit his pants. He just got his hand stuck somewhere like a huge idiot.” Katsuki said after getting sick of the shocked expressions on everyone’s faces, no doubt imagining Kaminari staining his pants.

“I just realized I worded it so wrong!!” Izuku shouted loudly, moving his arms around in embarrassment.

“It’s fine, Deku-kun. Either way, we shouldn’t judge right? It happens sometimes.”

“I don’t think Kaminari would poop his pants at almost eighteen.” Todoroki said.

“Yeah, Ochako.” agreed Tsuyu, a little disturbed at her friend.

“I wouldnt be surprised if he did.” Katsuki snorted.

“Rude, Kacchan!” Kaminari drawled, jumping on top of Katsuki and hooking his arm around his shoulder, roughly getting shrugged off by the blonde. “Be careful. My hand still hurts.”

“Your fault for getting stuck somewhere. That’s not my problem.”

“Ohh,” Sero says. “Harsh.” he says while smiling down at Todoroki who is telling him what happened, telling him to continue his story.

“Where are the others?” Iida asks. “Yaoyorozu already told me they were close by, along with Tokoyami, Shoji, Koda, and Sato. I'm guessing Kirishima and Mina are on their way?”

“I don’t fucking know. Don’t look at me.” Katsuki said, laying his head back down on Izuku’s lap ....How they got there, Izuku has no idea. But he’s not exactly complaining.

“Ojiro and Hagakure?

“Boo!” said a floating shirt, Hagakure, next to Ojiro. “This was so fun! Ojiro won me that whole stuffed bear he’s holding right now. Hold it up, babe, hold it up!” and Ojiro does, appeasing his girlfriend’s wishes.

“Ooh, that’s nice.” Jirou comes in with Yaomomo and the others, her shoulders a bit red from walking around in a tank top for so long. “I won me some new headphones. Don’t know how well they’ll work though.”

“Bakugou won an All Might for Midoriya, too.” Todoroki points out. Jirou immediately freezes, her eyes finding Katsuki’s wide and embarrassed expression as he prepares to yell at Todoroki for saying their business out loud.

“Don’t you know how to—“

“Really?” Jirou asks, a knowing smirk on her lips as she squints at him and tilts her head teasingly. “That’s a fun fact.”

“Ears, you better not say anymore shit or I’ll make sure you never speak in your miserable life ever again.”

“Damn, dude. You want some weed to ease the raging black storm in your equally as black heart or what?” she says jokingly, pretending to light a cigarette and smoking it.

Katsuki scoffs. “Hah. ‘Least I'm not the one sucking on my girlfriend's tongue.”

“Yeah,” she says in a silly, deep dragged out way. “That’s cause you don’t have a girlfriend, dick sucker.” she finishes, sticking her tongue out and grabbing onto Yaoyorozu’s waist.

“Pussy licker.” Katsuki growls back, sticking his middle finger up.

“This—this is a very inappropriate conversion to be having in public!” Iida immediately says, doing the hand and arm combo motion he usually does when he’s scolding.

“So it’s okay if they do it in the dorms?”

“No it’s not!”

“I don’t think you should word it like that, man..” Ojiro offers into the space in a disgusted voice.

Wow. Izuku feels extremely uncomfortable now.

“What are you guys over here yelling about?” Mina says, strutting her way over to them with a huge grin on her face. Kirishima is right behind her, watching his girlfriend with a look of admiration. “Don’t tell me we missed the party!”

“The real party was watching Denks try to pull his hand out from the railing he got it stuck on.” said Sero.

“Not funny, bro! It’s totally gonna bruise!”

“Aw, Denks! Don't worry, it’ll heal!” Mina coos, moving her hand up and down Kaminari’s arm in comfort.

“Yeah, man. Plus you’re a strong hero, you’ve recovered from worse!”

“Poor baby needs someone to kiss it better.” Katsuki snickers at them, nudging Izuku on the side to share the laugh with him. What’s worse is that Izuku did, locking eyes with him, and looking away like pre-teen girls who got caught staring at their crush.

What was going on!

“I’ll kiss it better,” Sero dragged out the ‘r’ with mischievous eyes, making grabby hands towards Kaminari and smooching noises with his mouth. That was the end of the conversation before Iida and Yaoyorozu had told everyone to get going since the bus was leaving soon. And so they all went, pushing and teasing each other the whole way to the gate.

..

….

“Wait——“

“Did you guys..?”

“Where is Mineta?!”

“Let’s just leave him and dip.”

“Kacchan! That’s our friend, you can’t say that!”

7.

The embers were gone by the morning. Izuku knew it would, he knew that it would come sooner or later, but it didn’t erase the emptiness in the bottom of his stomach, the stabbing pain that he felt at the loss in his heart.

Izuku got up from bed and washed his face.

It’s the morning of graduation and mostly everyone is busy with signing off to different heroes, new internships, packing their stuff from out of the dorms and hauling them up into a truck to take to their parents house or their new rented apartments until they get better off and can finally buy better replacements.

A lot had happened in those two last weeks. Melissa came to visit from I-island and Izuku showed her around. Rody had called to wish him good luck on graduation, and everyone was excited and nervous to start their new lives.

Some people are moving in together too, so that is one way they all don’t have to be alone on their journeys. For example, Kirishima and Mina who have been successfully dating for about a year now. They’re signing up for the same agency, too. Izuku has no doubt in his mind that they’ll be amazing out there. Ochako and Tsuyu decided to room together too, just for the sake of it being cheaper for the both of them. Ojiro and Hagakure, both living together for 2 years and counting now. Koda and Shoji, although Izuku isn’t sure if that’s because they’re just really close friends or more. He’s decided it’s not exactly his business.

Izuku knows that Katsuki and Todoroki will be joining the same agency, Endeavor’s agency. They plan to get into the field as soon as they set food in there, Izuku finds it very admirable. They’ll be great heroes, powerful, and popular. People will look up to them and find inspiration, just as Izuku does. Just as everyone does and will.

And Izuku… will start teaching at UA! It’s not something he wanted to do in the past—or even really imagined himself doing—but the opportunity has presented itself and he would never pass on a chance to get to educate younger heroes. It’s his own way of saving. He took pride in helping society one way or another.

So here they were now. The girls had picked out matching suits for all of the guys (+ some of the girls)  to wear, Mina had passed them out just yesterday at night, telling everyone to be careful and not to wrinkle them because they were special. They were a careful fabric, soft and smooth.

First, they had to get to campus. Iida had prepared a speech to give and the others had hyped him up. Even though nobody had gotten the chance to read it, Izuku was sure that it would end with him crying in the end.

Second, they had to get their suits and get ready for a class picture that Ochako and Hagakure had proposed, just for the memories. Aizawa and All Might included. They had invited Aoyoma too, but they’re not exactly sure he’ll come.

And third, there was a party for all the third years.

“Yo,” someone said, poking his freckled cheeks. Izuku shook his head and looked up to the sight of Katsuki’s troubled eyes, soft and warm—so gentle as they looked at him. “Are you okay?”

Izuku couldn’t do this, he couldn’t do this much longer, but he sucked in his breath anyways, letting it all out before replying. “Yeah. Why wouldn’t I be, Kacchan?”

His red eyes hardened, nodding his head shortly. “Right.” he said, flat and distant. “Are you ready, then? We have to get going for that dumbass speech Prez spent a whole month working on.”

“You won’t cry, will you, Kacchan?”

“You sure you should be the one saying that to me? I can practically feel your eyes already tearing up and you haven’t even heard it yet.”

“I think i’ll miss hanging out in the dorms with all my friends.” Izuku said, smiling softly at the packed boxes by the door. “I guess I’ll have to move right back in though. Don’t worry, I’ll make sure to have time to watch all your fights!”

At this reminder that Izuku will be teaching, Katsuki goes a bit sour. Of course he supports Izuku’s decision and he has told him that he would make a good teacher—In his Katsuki way of saying things, but the moment Izuku brings up him staying here to be a teacher and the others moving on to become heroes, he goes a bit tense and quiet. He gets this gleam in his eyes, as if looking far away into the distance at something bigger, bigger than what they have now.

Izuku isn’t quite sure what to make of it.

“You better observe me carefully.” he decides to say after the moment of silence. “I’ll make sure to put on a good show for you, yeah? Take notes too, you’ll need them.”

“I—I promise I will! I’ll pay attention to every single detail, I really will!” Izuku stuttered out, blushing profusely.

Katsuki smiled from one side of his face, biting in his lip as his eyes skated over Izuku’s face. “Yeah, soon you’ll be watching real up close.” he said like a sweet promise.

“What does that mean?” Izuku asked.

“Nothing to worry about for now.” Katsuki answered.

He flicked Izuku’s forehead once before waving goodbye and walking off somewhere else, leaving him completely alone while he stood in confusion.

Izuku’s heart beat a shaky rhythm as he let out a breath again, ignoring the painful sting wrapping itself all around his body.

Today was graduation. His friends had put a lot of dedication to make this day worth remembering and Izuku wouldn’t dare to ruin it because of his pain that came from something that he knew would happen, that he prepared for. Something that was unpreventable. That’s why, again, he sucked in a breath and put on a big smile.

..

..

“You.” Katsuki said, pointing right at Monoma, his eyes deadly focused. “I have a plan.”

Monoma smirked.

..

..

Just as he expected, Iida’s speech had made Izuku cry on his chair, every word hitting him in the face with affection and the feeling that he will miss going to school with his friends, that he will miss every experience and progress he made alongside these wonderful people who will all grow up to become successful and continue to make the world a better place.

While Iida finished up his speech, Izuku wiped his tears away and smiled softly back at everyone.

“Let’s go!” they heard a voice say not that very far away before an explosion completely blinded them. The wall crumbled and everyone went flying backwards, bewildered at what ever just happened.

“Holy sigma. I thought that was a sign from god!”

And that’s how Bakugou Katsuki and Monoma Neito blew up a room during Iida Tenya’s graduation speech. Izuku and Shinsou share the same look on their faces, not surprised at all. All though Shinsou looked almost amused at the cackling sight of his boyfriend.

..

..

“Was that fucking epic or was that fucking epic?” Katsuki yelled at the top of his lungs, setting off a few more explosions in the palms of his hands the same way as Monoma who looked ecstatic at being given a chance to copy his quirk.

“Kacchan..” Izuku said, lightly laughing with a few drops of sweat falling down his forehead.

“Say it, Izuku! That shit was fucking awesome.”

“Did you see it, Hitoshi?! None of them saw it coming!” Monoma shouted too, laughing along with Katsuki in that weird pose he does.

Shinsou only chuckled at this, grabbing Monoma’s hand and pulling him away towards Kendou who had the possibly most pissed off expression Izuku has ever seen.

“That dipshit. Can’t believe he agreed to do that.” said Katsuki, still smiling. He dropped a hand on the top of Izuku’s hand, still warm form the earlier explosions, so cozy that Izuku tilted his head upwards almost unconsciously.

“Anyways, shitnerd. You ready for the picture? We have to go back and change.”

“Yeah! I can’t wait to try out the suit’s Yaomomo and Ashido picked out for us!”

“D’you need help with the  tie or did you finally get to watchin’ those youtube videos?”

“I’ve been working on it. I’ll show you!”

..

“Stay the fuck still?” Katsuki told him, clearly frustrated that Izuku was acting so antsy while he attempted to tie his tie. “What’s wrong with you?”

“Nothing, really. I just..I guess I’ll miss everyone, you know?” Izuku told him, his eyes facing the ground sheepishly.

“That’s fucking stupid. You do know you’ll still see them right? You got their numbers and everything too, dumbass. Plus you and your little scooby-doo gang are quite literally inseparable. There’s no way in hell they’ll go a day without messaging you, or the other way around.”

“..You’re right, Kacchan. As always. I guess I’m just overthinking everything.” he admitted.

“Mina’s already arranging monthly class meet-ups anyway. And istg not like you can’t plan to hang out with one of those idiots. They’d rather be dead before refusing.” Katsuki continued, his fingers working extra time as the fixed the mess that Izuku did. “Ugh! I don’t know why you tie it like that. It looks like it’s going to give birth.”

Katsuki continued to complain, but Izuku couldn’t really hear from the ringing in his ears that kept playing louder and louder the more Izuku’s eyes went down, up, and across Katsuki’s body.

The suit looked good on him. It was a black jacket with a green long-sleeved collared dress shirt. His injured arm was treading lightly through Izuku’s tie, not putting as much pressure. The green looked amazing on him, Izuku didn’t know how, but it made his skin look so much paler and softer. The black jacket made him look like a top model.

And his scent. So close to Izuku’s nose that he just wished to grab onto his shirt and thrust him closer so Izuku could dig his nose in the middle of Katsuki’s chest, his huge pecs hiding his face from sight and he would stay there until he rotted away.

And—-

Well, none of those thoughts are exactly friendly.

Izuku must’ve been blushing uncontrollably because when his body touched earth once again, Katsuki’s eyebrows were raised in question, clearly unaware of the internal battle Izuku was having with his brain.

“Well—Uh! Um, we’ve got to go then! Don’t want to be late, yeah, let’s not be late!” Izuku repeated, over and over again, then under his breath after he had left Katsuki standing in the room all alone. Bamboozled.

“Fuck.” Katsuki cursed into the empty room, quickly leaving with burning hot red on his ears and neck.

..

..

The picture had been taken beautifully. It turns out that Aoyama had joined them too, so he was in the picture with the rest of them. He’s also glad that All Might had put his hand on Izuku’s head, partially covering his bald spot. Who knows how long it’ll take to grow back, Izuku just can’t wait.

Mr Aizawa had also joined in the photo, his hair out of his face so that everyone would see his smile. It was a first, for sure. He had thanked everyone for being his students, going in a line to congratulate each and every one.

Although he finished it with, “I hope I never have to deal with you problem children again.” but everyone could tell that it wasn’t true at all and he truly was going to miss them. Maybe not Izuku, since he’s coming right back.

“We love you, Mr Aizawa!” they had all said unison. Izuku had to pull on Katsuki’s tie, telling him to say it with them, practically begging until Katsuki had caved in with flushing pink skin, clearly embarrassed.

..

“Oh my god, Ochako, you look so cute!” Mina squealed. “We have to post these on our stories!”

“Good idea!” agreed Ochako, Hagakure also behind them as she pulled her out, smiling.

“Should I post it, tag everyone, and then you can all just repost it?” she asked. “Also Denks, no, you can’t draw penises near our faces in the picture! It’s supposed to be cute.” Mina told him before Kaminari could even open his mouth, eliciting a laugh from the class.

“I think I’ll post this one only story,” Mineta tells Sero, showing him a photoshopped picture of him sitting on top of Yaoyorozu’s legs, looking proud of himself.

“Delete that shit, gang. It’s not working.” Sero informs him, shaking his head.

“I think that could work? I mean, if we all just post a version and then tag everyone for everyone to repost it might get a bit messy.” Tsuyu reasoned, unaware of the conversation happening just next to her.

“Tch. Brainless activities.” Katsuki grumbled next to Izuku.

“It’s sweet, Kacchan. This is our last year together.”

“Whatever.”

..

..

The party started a bit later then that. Mostly because it took a long time to wait for everyone to come and settle everything in, like snacks, food, and drinks. Most people had brought soda and others had gotten hands on alcohol, yelling about how they’re adults now and can drink all they want.

Izuku had laughed along with his friends while munching on some chips, Katsuki to his side scoffed and called everyone drunkies even if he had gotten one for himself, wincing at the taste and saying that it didn’t affect him at all—which Izuku knew was a lie because he noticed it.

Some people were dancing along to the music, others just laying down on the couch or on the floor and talking to their friends. Izuku was with Todoroki and Iida a little farther away from the dance floor. Everyone was having fun, and so was Izuku no matter how much his body told him otherwise.

A thousand cameras start recording the night.

“Midoriya! Dance with me!” Mina suddenly told him, taking a hold of Izuku’s hands and dragging him towards the dance place.

“I—um! Sure, okay!”

“Woo!!” Mina laughs freely as they sway side to side with no cordinated movements. “Loosen up, sweet-face! It’s a night to have fun!”

And Izuku did, moving his hips and his legs, his arms and bopping his head to the beat along with Mina, their other friends joining them.

….

“Iida! Iida! Iida!” they all chant as Iida takes a big gulp of beer, raising his arm in a fist in an imitation of All Might. “I will have a hangover tomorrow morning!” he yells.

“Wooo!” they chant.

“Bakugou!” Ochako calls out, extending her hand towards Katsuki who’s sitting down on one of the chairs, shooting a nasty look towards Monoma who seems to be going insane near the dance floor.

“What do you want, round face?” Katsuki replies. He has an easy smile on one side of his face as he takes in the excited look on her face.

“Let’s dance!”

“What? Fuck no.”

“Oh, come on!” and instead of letting her hand hover, she grabs onto his shoulder and pulls him up, grabbing his wrist to lead him all the way to the dance floor, in no way Katsuki making any move to attack her for invading his space.

Noticing, she giggles and takes his hand, moving it along with hers while she sways to the music, nudging Katsuki with her hip to do the same.

“Fucking hell,” he mutters, but his feet are tapping up and down to the beat and he moves his head side to side, clearly enjoying this if the relaxed form of his eyebrows gave anything away.

“Kacchan!” someone said, Izuku, surprised to be finding Katsuki on the dance floor with Ochako of all people. Mina was holding on to his hand as they both moved.

“Deku-kun!” Ochako greeted, giving a wide smile.

“Ooh, switch!” Mina suggested, already moving her body to make Izuku spin her around to Katsuki, Ochako doing the same to be spun towards Izuku. They complied, now Mina with her hand clasped to Katsuki’s.

“So, Kats, you having fun?”

Katsuki only giving a slight click of his tongue. When suddenly, as he sensed something watching him, he turned around to find the red flash of a phone camera up in their faces.

“Oi, what the fuck?! You assholes recording this?!” he yelled. Mina had flipped herself around, falling into Ochako’s arms as they both laughed.

“It’s just for memories, Bakugo—“ Todoroki tried to explain, but suddenly Katsuki began chasing him and Sero, who was behind Todoroki this whole time laughing his ass off.

“Run, Sho, run!”

Aside from that, the rest of the dance floor kept rotating. Izuku had danced with Todoroki, Iida, Kirishima, Hagakure, Kaminari, Tsuyu, and even Hatsume who had apparently appeared out of nowhere. Iida danced with Hatsume, Ochako, and Todoroki. Todoroki had been passed around like a football, ending up dancing with everyone, including Katsuki who looked close to insanity the whole time.

They had also set up a Just Dance for others to compete. Katsuki had a dance battle with Monoma, who had challenged him and manipulated him into joining by calling him a weak and fragile man.

Overall, everyone took a turn at Just Dance and nailed it.

At one point, Katsuki had joined Izuku on the couch, both of them chatting with the biggest smiles on their faces, clueless as to who was watching.

“Look at them, Ei. This is just sad.” Mina told him, sniveling from her nose. “I can’t even watch this.”

Katsuki had put his arm over Izuku’s shoulder, drawing him in closer as he continued to talk like nothing had happened.

“Well, I mean. I’m kinda proud. My bro Katsuki is finally getting his man.”

Izuku had began to rant now, moving his hands like a cartoon character as he emphasized his words with expressions and body language, oblivious to Katsuki watching completely entranced in the shape of his lips, no doubt tuning in and out of the conversation.

“No. No!” Mina pulled on her hair, exasperated. “This is what people mean when they say gay people make them want to turn homophobic. What is happening to the simple world when communication was a thing!”

Izuku and Katsuki had now locked eyes, both of them instinctively leaning in as if they were about to kiss.

“Oh. Yeah.. let’s—let’s go.” Kirishima said, pushing his girlfriend out of the way so they could leave and never have to watch that ever again in their life. That was torture.

The camera zoomed into a drunk Monoma, tugging on his boyfriend's clothes as he sang the lyrics to a romantic song in Karaoke, making a disgusting eye-sore for some people.

“Watch out, they’re gonna fuck!” someone yells out.

Everyone laughs along as Monoma makes a shrug with his shoulders, seductively turning to his boyfriend who vehemently shook his head and hid his face in his hoodie.

“That just ruined my whole night,” a voice said from behind the camera, making the man holding it turn around and focus it on Sero who looked the limit to throwing up. “That was terrible. Why did we record that?”

“You told me to. Should I erase it?”

“No.”

Kirishima and Tetsutetsu were engaging in an epic battle of arm wrestling, both of their quirks in use as they grind their teeth together, fighting hard to be the winners.

Their girlfriends, Mina—Kirishima’s beloved strong and beautiful wife—and Kendou, Tetsutetsu’s adored and loved wife, were in the back cheering their boyfriends on. Class A and B split up in two sides as they cheered their players.

Katsuki, standing near the camera with a cup of soda, turned and smirked. “I would win.”

“You sure would, Kacchan!”

“Everyone yell out your deepest darkest secrets!” Monoma yelled.

A ton of screams rang out in the room, the camera unable to catch them all except these that would later be seen and repeated for years to come:

“I let my homie hold it while it’s soft!”

“I pissed on the bed by accident  last year! Nobody ever knew!”

“Izuku Midoriya used to make fan edits of pro heroes in Junior High”

(“Wait. How do you know that, Kacchan?”

“Just be glad I didn't mention you used to read fanfiction of them too.”

“Have mercy!”)

“I have a huge fat crush on skinny All Might!”

(From behind the camera, “I think Midoriya could introduce them to All Might.”

“Yeah, that wouldn’t be legal.” )

“The only reason I would stop by Class A so much was because Eraserhead was so fucking hot!”

And of course, the huge reveal. Mina and Hagakure stood tall on the table, both of them holding hands as they breathed deeply and yelled: “We are the UA Gossip account motherfuckers!” as they jumped and almost face planted.

“Woooo!!”

“No fucking way!”

“This is my baby, look.” Tsuyu said to the camera as Tokoyami nuzzled himself closer to her side, his hands around her waist sleepily. “That’s going to be my husband one day, but don’t tell anyone.” she giggled, putting a finger over her lip in secrecy.

“Drinks are on us!” Kaminari and Sero exclaimed, their arms around each other’s shoulders as they swayed side to side, singing along to the song.

“Get off the fucking table, you drunkies!” Katsuki scolded them, setting an explosion to make them tumble down and fall on their ass, laughing as they both whined.

The next round of Karaoke was Jirou and Katsuki (who needed to be persuaded with a hefty amount to do this) singing Bring Me Back to Life by Evanescence.

“All this time, I can’t believe I couldn’t see! Kept in the dark, but you were there in front of me.” Katsuki sings, slowly getting into it the longer it takes.

“I’ve been sleeping a thousand years, it seems, got to open my eyes to everything!”

“Without a thought, without a voice, without a soul!” changing his voice, he sings again, “Don’t let me die here, there must be something more!”

“Bring me to life,” Jirou sings.

The camera shakes and moves a little, moving to capture the awestruck reactions of Izuku and Kaminari, their mouths open wide with no one to close it for them.

“Kiss, marry, kill…. Midoriya, Katsuki, Shoto?” Sero asks, satisfied with his line up.

Ochako immediately grimaced, her face scrunching up as if she was going to puke. “Um. I guess I’d marry Deku-kun because he’s my best friend. I’d kiss Todoroki since I don’t want to kill him. I’d kill Bakugou.”

“Yeah, I’d kill Bakugou too. But i’d marry Todoroki instead of Midoriya.” Tsu answers.

Sero bursted out in uncontrollable laughter. “No way! Wait till Kats hears this, he’s going to freak!”

“I don’t know how you guys can skip,” a droopy boy chimes in. “Those 3 are my dream foursome,” he says, lovesick.

“Get out of here, man.”

In a corner of the room, people were in a circle as they listened to a story time told by a student in the support course. “ “More! Harder, harder!” Endeavor moaned as All Might thrusted in, his face scrunching up beautifully as small fires spread out around them.”

“..Sounds like something you’d write.” Katsuki turns with a mocking laugh.

“No, I wouldn’t, Kacchan!”

“Sorry, can you guys shut up? We’re clearly reading something here.”

From the behind the camera, “Well damn.”

”😜.”

”This is a verbal conversation. How the fuck are you doing that?” Katsuki asks, looking around in bewilderment.

”Just try it, Bakugou, it’s not that hard. 😸.” Ochako says.

”How are you doing that?!”

”Noo, don’t leave.” Iida whines after Hatsume, who’s not close to leaving at all, just enjoying the party. The boy has his hands wrapped her waist and he’s burrowing his face in her neck. “Don’t leave me.”

Izuku and Ochako look at each other, both of them trying hard not to laugh at the situation.

“Iida, this is just embarrassing..” Izuku sighs.

“¿Y cómo es él?” Sero sings passionately, gripping his chest. “¿En qué lugar se enamoró de ti?”

He approaches Kaminari, holding his face delicately as he tries not to laugh. “¿De dónde es? A qué dedica el tiempo libre?”

(“What the fuck is he saying?” Katsuki asks next to the camera.

“I have no idea.” Tsuyu answers.

”He’s good at singing.” Todoroki states.”)

“¡Es un ladrón! Que me ha robado todo.”

”I love you, bro!” Kaminari yells after him like a fangirl. “I don’t know what the fuck you’re saying, but you’ll always be mine!”

“You two need to go to an asylum.” Jirou tells him.

”You just don’t understand true bromance.”

Shinsou, who looks high but is actually just drunk on a few beers, walks around holding up the hand of his boyfriend. The blonde is overjoyed, of course, hiding his smile with a manicured hand.

”My boyfriend!” he shouts. “This is my boyfriend!”

.

.

”I still don’t understand why.” Kirishima confesses.

“Let it go, Ei.” Mina tells him, tired.

The video was a little blurry as it focused and unfocused, but you could clearly tell what it was zooming in on. It was a close-up of Katsuki and Todoroki sitting down together on the couch, clearly having a conversation.

Katsuki laughed and smiled, clearly making jokes that Todoroki had also smiled at, got confused at, oblivious to some of the teasing.

The next was a video of Katsuki exploding a game of Uno after he lost to Monoma, who clearly cheated.

The other was a video of Katsuki and Ochako, the brown-haired girl with her arm looped around Katsuki’s arm as they sang a song too. Katsuki was clearly dreading the entire moment, but he hadn’t protested, instead looking a little bit too into it to be ‘dreading’ it.

Following came a video of Iida and Katsuki, both having a decent conversation and even sharing a few laughs.

A video of Katsuki quickly grabbing the back of Izuku’s shirt so he wouldn’t trip and fall on his face, Katsuki walking away as if nothing had happened, maybe blushing a bit.

And finally, the end was the camera focused on a phone that contained a photo of Mina, Kirishima, Kaminari, and Sero all grouped up together, Katsuki in the middle as they all rounded against him, sharing big hugs and grins. A slideshow of photos Katsuki had taken with all of them, Ochako, Jirou, Yaomomo, Izuku, Todoroki, Iida, Shinsou and even Monoma.

“Operation soft Bakugou, successfully completed.” Mina told the camera with her thumbs up.

“—We’re going to become heroes!” Ojiro yells into the camera. “and we’ll get married, have kids! A girl and a boy, and we’ll raise them with love and care, and we’ll be a happy family! Cheers!” he says, raising his glass. His girlfriend, Hagakure, laughs behind him.

“To Tailman and Invisible Girl!” they all chant.

Everyone had calmed down a bit more, all clearly tired. Some people were sitting together on the floor, playing some kind of board game. Others on the couches or on the tables as they chatted amongst each other.

After a while, though, Izuku felt a little loose. He wasn’t blackout drunk like some people were, he also didn’t feel dizzy and like he could spew all his secrets out to everyone in the room. He just felt loose. He didn’t feel like smiling because the pain in his heart wasn’t anything to smile about. He didn’t cry because all his friends were happy and celebrating.

But he had to get out.

“Holy bazinga, do you see that on the ceiling, Hanta?” Kaminari says, lifting his hand up to the ceiling as if he could catch the nonexistent object. “It’s a totally mini sized All Might.”

“Woah. Wait, dude. Would you rather fight a thousand Nezu sized All Mights or one All Might sized Nezu?” Sero slurs his question out, burping a bit in the middle.

“I don’t know man. Sounds like too many sweats. I think i’d rather just kiss All Might.”

“Woah, yeah. But in his buff form. I don’t think I’d want to kiss skeleton All Might.

“You guys are wrong. I’d kiss both versions,” Mina chimes in, sat on top of Kirishima’s back as he does push ups. “What about you, Ei?”

“Crimson riot!”

“Understandable.”

Katsuki groans loudly and tired. He’s sick of these idiots.

“I think Kats would want to kiss All Might. He’s such a fan of him.”

This time, though, Katsuki doesn’t blow up with fury. His attention all too consumed by a curly-haired man standing close to the exit door.

“Yo wait, if you had wings for 24 hours, what would you do with them?”

“Eat them, duh.” Mineta and Kaminari answer in unison, creasing their brows at the stupid question.

“I meant wings to fly with.” Sero deadpans. “Fatasses.”

“Do you guys ever think, why are we alive when Lady Gaga and Hugh Jackman exist? Like they’re all the world needs.”

“Kento Yamazaki playing as Arisu in Alice in Borderland fucking wipes.”

“Word,” Jirou agrees. “But Channing Tatum in the 2000’s.”

Katsuki agrees. But he’ll never let anyone know that.

“And Gerard Way, MyChem.”

“No way! You listen to them, too? They used to be my shit in middle school!”

“Fuck, yes! I knew you were awesome sauce, Kirishima.” Jirou declares and stalks off, a beer bottle in her hand.

“Man, I hope things aren't awkward between her and Yaomomo.” Mina says quietly after Jirou leaves, watching her with sad eyes.

“Why? What happened?”

“You guys didn’t hear? Her and Yaomomo broke up apparently. I’m not too sure why, but it’s more or so because they think they work better as friends than a couple. .” For some reason, Kaminari falls off the couch, his head thumping on the floor loudly and making everyone wince.

“What?” he draws and slurs unintelligently.

“Yeah.” and everyone goes quiet.

“Chat, how do you guys think they found out cows produce milk? You think someone just started sucking on them and was like, mwoah. Sweet’..”

“Man, you’re fucking disgusting. Puta madre,” Sero laughs to himself, shaking his head and rubbing his eyes that are way too tired to be open and staring directly at the light turned on in the hallway.

“Shut the fuck up.” he hissed towards Sero, his eyes attentively watching the green-haired boy stumble to get outside, the door carelessly slamming behind him while he fisted his hands forcibly and harsh, most likely drawing blood—that’s all Katsuki has been able to focus on today, watching Izuku stand by the exit.

Almost like a reflex, Katsuki got up too. The others gave him strange looks, but he didn’t care anyways. He walked forward with his hands in his pockets, ignoring the exclaims of protests from his friends. “I’ll be back,” he tells them. He’s not sure he will, he hates loud parties like these and the only reason he came was because it was really the last time in a little before he would see his friends again. Everyone is going to be focused on their work and moving in somewhere new that no one is going to have time to hang out.

Plus, Katsuki has something he needs to work hard for.

When he opens the door to outside, Izuku is standing there on the railing, overlooking the city as the chilly hair runs through his hair and tickles his skin softly.

He takes a deep breath. Slowly, he walks towards Izuku. The boy doesn’t seem all that surprised to see him there, although he wasn’t expressing any sort of emotion.

“Izuku.” Katsuki called him.

“Kacchan,” Izuku finally said, his voice strained. “What are you doing here?” he still hasn’t turned to meet his eye.

“What about you? You left. I saw you.”

“Um,” Izuku awkwardly laughs. “Yeah, I did. Just thought some fresh air would be nice.”

Katsuki gave him a strange look. “What’s wrong?”

Izuku stayed quiet for a second, there, standing next to Katsuki as the wind blew past them stronger than before.

“I just..” he began saying, his voice mixing perfectly with the wind. If Katsuki wasn’t attuned to Izuku’s every being then he wouldn’t have heard it. But because he is, he heard Izuku continue. “I’m just feeling a bit nostalgic already. Everyone’s moving tomorrow, start their own lives. It’s new and it’s scary, but everyone’s so excited. I’m proud of them, all of them, we’ve all come so far, even if I..” At this, he stops.

Clearing his throat, Izuku continues on. “We’ve all come so far and I can’t wait to see our friends out there, I can’t wait to see you. I know everyone will do amazing things. I mean, Ochako told me she was thinking of starting an agency to help kids understand their quirks and use them properly. It’s great. I heard Iida and Tsu were joining her.. and..”

Izuku’s voice has turned a mess now, unsteady and tumbling further down the more he talks. Tears are flowing down his cheeks, illuminated by the moon and Katsuki’s heart aches.

“Everyone is moving on to do such great things.. and—“ Katsuki immediately turns, Izuku is looking at him now with such a lost expression, desperate to be found, to be held.

And so Katsuki offers him a hand, a hand for Izuku to grip tight on. And he does, he does grip tight but his face transforms into a painful one as he cries even more.

“Kacchan, what do I do? The embers are gone now. It’s gone, One for All. And I knew this would happen, I prepared for it, and I made my peace, but it hurts. I’m happy that I got to live my dream for as long as I could, I’m happy that I saved people and I made friends that care about me. My life was so full. I got a chance to compete with you, to be by your side in battle, fight with you, be your equal. For that, I’m grateful. I’m so grateful, I felt blessed every day, I feel blessed everyday.”

“Izuku—-“ Katsuki hadn’t known the embers were gone. He knew they would be gone sometime, but hearing it now makes him feel cold to the bone. Chills as Izuku clings to his hand and cries his heart out.

“I’m sorry to put this all on you, Kacchan. It might be a bit selfish to feel glad that I can put this on you, I’m sorry. You’ve been so kind to me, you’ve done so much for me and others, you’ve taken care of me. I’m sorry, but I need to tell you.

Katsuki squeezes his hand harder, telling him to go ahead. That he’ll listen to whatever Izuku has to say.

“I love you, Kacchan.” Izuku confesses. Katsuki’s grip on his hand slacks a bit, involuntarily, but he can’t help the jolt of electricity shooting and traveling from his bones to his brains as he processes everything, but he never gets the chance to say anything, for Izuku beats him to that.

“I love you so much. You don’t have to say it back, I know you don’t feel the same and I’m sorry for throwing this all on you but you have to know. I love you and I always have, always will. Nothing will ever change what I feel for you because nothing has, even in the past. We’ve known each other for long. I’ve  admired for you so long. I’ve chased you for so long. I finally catched up to you, you finally let me walk by your side, and I can’t help but love you so much for accepting me again, for caring about me. Kacchan, you’re so amazing and I love you for everything you are. And that’s why it’s so messed up that the moment I get to be your side, it all ends. And now I’ll have to watch you become a pro-hero all by yourself, without me by your side just the way I had imagined it all my life!”

Izuku wipes his tears and smiles at him, letting go of his hand. It’s so sick and twisted that Katsuki feels so much anger at it, but his mouth can’t form words. “But I don’t mind. I’ve always watched you, Kacchan, and I don’t think anyone could get me to stop. I’m content just watching you win and save the way you always have.”

In a fit of anger, Katsuki aggressively tugs on Izuku’s hand, drawing him closer to hear him talk. To hear every word that will come out, because god knows the stupid nerd needs to hear it.

“Are you stupid?” Katsuki spits. “You think just because you don’t have some shitty power that breaks all your bones and gives you nerve damage doesn’t make you a fucking hero? That’s fucking bullshit, Izuku. A quirk is just an accessory. What makes you a real fucking hero is having a stupid selfless heart like yours. It took me years to understand that, but I did. And you’re it. Your heart is programmed to save. As much it pisses me off how selfless you are, putting others before you, that shows you care so much, too much. That’s what makes you a fucking hero. Not a shitty power.”

“I—“

“And I swear to fuck, Izuku, if you think you losing some power means that you’re not worthy to be by my side anymore, I’ll make sure to beat your head until it’s bloody so that you get it engraved that nothing will make that happen ever again. Just like you said, I finally accepted you. I don’t give a shit what you do, what you say, what you look like, nothing will make me let go of your stupid hand.”

“So, stay by my side. Keep looking at me, fuck, never stop looking at me. Hold on to my hand and don’t ever let go. If you ever slip, I will go to the depths of hell and bring you back. I will follow you wherever because I said, ‘for the rest of our lives,’ and fucking meant it. You don’t need anybody else, you hear? You need someone to help you back up on your feet? I’m fucking here. You need someone to talk to? I’m here. I’m the one who steps up when you cant handle it any longer, goddamit!”

Katsuki turns his gaze soft once he looks into Izuku’s eyes. “So grab my hand tight, Izuku, because i’m sure as hell never going to let you fall behind.”

“I’ll make your dream true again,” goes unsaid.

He doesn’t have time to think or see again before his vision is assualted by a head of green hair running into him so fast, tumbling backwards and having to steady themselves while Izuku’s lips find Katsuki’s in the light of the moon.

A soggy kiss that tastes a bit like salt and alcohol. But it’s great and Katsuki craves for more of Izuku’s touch wherever he can get it. His palm lands on the small of Izuku’s back while his other curls into Izuku’s hair.

Izuku’s hands are a bit more desperate to touch every part of Katsuki. They fall from his neck, up his biceps and down his arms. To his waist, a strong grip there with one hand while the other moves against his scalp and Izuku’s lips move softly against Katsuki’s.

Breathless, Izuku breaks off. “Again,” he says. He leans in before Katsuki can accept or deny—like he would deny anyways. Izuku’s tongue licks the outside of Katsuki's lips, asking to be let in. He’s erratic at this point, touching and feeling Katsuki’s chest, gripping and humming into his mouth as his tongue searches and travels through every surface and cave of Katsuki’s mouth, tasting him and the little bit of beer he had earlier.

Izuku breaks off and says, “Again,” reaching even before saying the words. Katsuki doesn’t want to deny him. Can’t deny him.

After a while though, Katsuki puts a hand on Izuku’s forearm, gently pushing him away for a needed break, although his other hand stays perfectly still on his waist.

It seems that, after the big boost of confidence Izuku had received to kiss Katsuki like a pervert was gone, Izuku was totally left with a shameful look on his face as he flushed and hid in Katsuki’s neck.

“What’s wrong, nerd? You were feeling me up so confidently just then.” he teased, grabbing Izuku’s hands and putting them directly on his pecs, watching as Izuku felt and squeezed, only to shriek and jump back with embarrassment.

“Kacchan!”

“Shut the fuck up.” Katsuki shushed. He bit on his lip, clearly feeling the embarrassment too. This was new to him. Katsuki had never once been interested in the idea of romance at all, hell, he barely knew how to masturbate because that shit just seemed ridiculous to him.

But.

The sight of Izuku Midoriya was breathtaking. And nothing will ever change Katsuki’s mind. Especially when he’s ranting off about new facts or a quirk he found interesting in full-nerd style. It was perfect.

“Thank you, Kacchan. Really. I feel like a huge burden just left my shoulders.”

“Well, sometimes people just have to slap you in the head a few times to get you to act serious.” Katsuki said, rolling his eyes.

“Yeah.. Thank you, Kacchan. And you meant all that, right? Because if you didn’t, Kacchan, I’ll die. Seriously. I’ll dig up a hole and crawl inside to hide in there forever because I love you too much and for you to do that to mean is just cruel.”

Katsuki sighed loudly. “Fuck, you’re so dramatic. Yes I meant all that shit. I never say shit I don’t mean so stop your worrying. And listen, Izuku, this isn’t a game to me. You leave and I will honest to god find you, kill you, and then kill myself to kill you again. You decide.”

Izuku smiles genuinely, soft and gentle. “I’m glad. I love you so much, Kacchan. You don’t understand. I’d probably kill someone for you—or no wait! That sounded horrible, I promise I didn't mean it like that!! Gosh, you—you know what I mean!”

“I know what you meant. Calm your ass down.” Katsuki chuckled.

….

“Young Midoriya, Young Bakugou.” a voice shocks them, causing both of the boys mentioned to turn quickly, a bit awkwardly and breaking the distance between their lips in fear of being caught. All Might was standing there, his tall figure towering over them. He had an easy smile on his face—an unusual one to have after witnessing two teenagers making out—and it was wobbly. “I wanted to congratulate you two.”

“All Might! Thank you so much!” Izuku shouted out, tense with emotion. “You—“

“Let me finish, young Midoriya.” All Might told him with a chuckle. “I also wanted to tell you two something else.”

“Cockblocker,” Katsuki muttered quietly under his breath.

“Oh! Go ahead!”

“I just wanted to say that I think you are the greatest heroes this generation could possibly have. You and the rest of your class. But most importantly, you two have inspired many people, children, your classmates, and adults alike. The impact you have made on the world will last forever and will not be forgotten. I once told Midoriya that he couldn’t be a hero without a quirk, but I was wrong. From the time I spent training you and helping you on his path, I realized that’s what makes you a hero, young Midoriya, is your selflessness and need to save others, your courage, and your ambition to save others, not just a quirk. I am glad that you are surrounded with people that will love and help, guide you for the better and I’m proud to know that you will do the same for them without question. You might have lost a quirk, but a hero, you still are. Nothing will ever change that. Your body will still move on its own and for that, I am proud to have you as my successor and student.”

“All—All Might!” Izuku exploded in tears, his hand grabbing hard on this chest. “I am so glad to have such an opportunity and I will always be grateful to you and everything you have done for me! I could not thank you enough for everything, All Might, and—“ he turns to Katsuki, who’s grimacing at all the tears and snot falling into his suit. Either way, Katsuki’s hand comes up to ruffle Izuku’s hair, instinctively pulling him closer.

All Might smiles at this. He closes his eyes for a second and turns to Katsuki who doesn’t notice until he says his name.

“Young Bakugou.” All Might started. “I have to thank you for always worrying about young Midoriya. Without you by his side, who knows what kind of trouble he would get into with no way back. I know your relationship was rocky in the beginning, but your growth and maturity was more clear to me than ever. You have a powerful quirk, one that you chose to use to save people and to win, for that I’m proud. You’re a smart boy, strong, and you fight for what’s right.  I’m glad that you came to understand that being a hero is not just about winning to save, but saving to win. You, like I said, have been an inspiration and motivation for others to continue. I know that Japan will be grateful to have you in the field.”

He takes a deep breath, shaky. . Katsuki is standing, his face brightening with every word, his eyes watering at the bottom with contained tears.  Izuku’s hand tightly clasped in his, squeezing it.

“You have been by Midoriya’s side for a long, because of that, you understand him far better than most. In the beginning, you chose to ignore that fact, but I know you learned to embrace that side of you that cares so deeply. You worked hard to earn his trust again, to atone for your wrongdoings, you shared your worries about him with me, and you helped him in his hardest moments. It’s a relief to know that you will be there side by side to help him whenever he needs it most and vice-versa. Your bond is something no one could ever come between. Unbreakable, unyielding. At the beginning it was messy, something that seemed irreparable but, young Bakugou, you took the time to carefully put everything back together, observing each piece with the utmost care and understanding, with devotion, along with the  help of young Midoriya so that it could stand tall the way it is now.”

“I’m filled with gratitude at being given a chance to get to know great heroes like yourselves. “

Tears were streaming both Izuku and All Might’s face as he reached out and enveloped them both into a tight hug. “I can’t wait to see what you accomplish in the future.” he says, hugging tighter.

“All Might!!” Izuku cried once again, wiping his tears. Discreetly, Katsuki was too, but he scoffed as always and looked close to going insane with the way he kept fidgeting with his hands and fingers, nervous.

“Thanks, old man.” he finally said, clear affection in his voice. “You’re not that bad either.”

All Might full on laughed at this. “Don’t you worry, young Bakugou. I know exactly what that means.”

“Pft. You better, I’m not saying that again.”

The taller man gave a breathless smile, closing his eyes. “I will miss you both.”

“I’ll be back, All Might!” Izuku told him, nodding his head aggressively. “We’ll see each other every day!”

“Don’t get too sappy on me, old man.” Katsuki said, punching him playfully on the shoulder. “You’ll still see the nerd and it’s not like I can’t come visit.”

“You’ll visit?” Izuku asked.

“We’re gonna be living in the same house anyways, nerd, so you’ll get used to seeing me every fucking day.”

“Same—same house?” Stunned, Izuku yelled like a mental asylum patient. “What are you talking about, Kacchan!?!”

“We’re gonna be living together, that's what!”

“Living together?!” Izuku echoed.

“That’s right! And you better get used to it, because I’m not going anywhere. You have to deal with me till the die you fucking die and I’ll follow you right down to hell!”

“Hell?!”

“That sounds like wedding vows..” All Might quietly whispered to himself.

“Through sickness and in health, bitch! You’re stuck with me forever and fucking ever. Can’t get rid of me so easily, I’m like a cockroach that will invade your space and you’re not allowed to get sick of it.” Katsuki said hotly, crossing his arms like he just said a threat instead of the most beautiful speech that made Izuku’s blood sing with the want to kiss him dry.

“I don’t think I’d want to have it any other way,” Izuku declared, still grabbing on to Katsuki, feeling the smooth curves and skin that decorates it with his own scarred hands. He gets a little emotional again, sniffing loudly with his nose as tears start to fall again, he yells, “Kacchan, I love you!”

Katsuki gives a sweet smile, so bright and wide that Izuku thinks flowers start blooming and the sky comes out. “Me too, Izuku.”

By now, All Might had retreated to give the two some deserved space. Katsuki’s whole face was flushed with red, matching his eyes and his lips, his mouth open in surprise.

Izuku giggled at this. The blonde immediately looked down, embarrassed and scoffing. “You’re cheesy as hell.”

“You can’t complain now, Kacchan. You said we’re stuck forever and ever.”

“Forever and fucking ever,” Katsuki corrected.

“Forever and fucking ever,” Izuku confirmed then, exasperated that Katsuki does his best at trying to get him to curse.

“Damn, Izuku. You kiss your mother with that mouth?” Katsuki teased.

“Ugh, let’s just go.” Izuku told him, rolling his eyes as he dragged Katsuki under the moonlight to get back to the party while they bickered along the way. “Wait, Kacchan. Does this mean we’re dating?”

“Are you being fucking serious, right now?”

“I don’t know!! Like—like sharing crepes, walking in a park while holding hands and going on a bunch of rides at the amusement park?! Feeding each other? Wait.”

“What?”

“You and Todoroki…”

Okay.

Only Katsuki and the moon would know the promises he’s been whispering all along. Some place, some time, soon from now, Izuku will be by his side and their hands will be intertwined, holding the dream that they’ve both fought for this whole time.

For the rest of their lives.

…..

EXTRA!

“I never told you guys this, but me and Shoto made out a few times.” says Sero, swaying back and forth. “Heh.”

“WHAT?!”

Notes:

will i lie and say this fic WASNT an excuse to add all of the ships and headcannons i love….? honestly this was very much an excuse to also include jokes and just make them act like the teenagers they are!!!! it’s very fun to do so

is todoroki implied ace in this story….?? who knows… that’s the real mystery..

Soooo i do have multiple ships included in this tbh and i am a multishipper so i tried to make it work as one ship that i like dated in hs and didn’t exactly work out in adulthood but then they end up w another character i ship them w lololol kirimina high school sweethearts tho.

DID U GUYS CATCH OCHAKO AND THE DESCRIPTION OF HER TYPE? i wanted to go for a sort of description abt izuku and toga but im not sure how that worked out tbh it was rlly hard to think of what kind of person each character would date

the extra btw? yes that was just my excuse to write monoshin fluff because i love monoshin i think i need to write a story abt them now

kirishima talking about monoma: seriously what do you see in that guy!
shinsou: he makes me laugh.

bakugou: *trying to make their amusement park trip a date between him and izuku *
todoroki: so where are we going guys?

izuku, talking about his ideal couple date: wait. i was basically a third wheel for kacchan and todoroki!

i ship momojirou and kamijirou and i wanted to include them both but i don’t rlly like them all together so i had to make a way to include them both.. jirou had feelings for both momo and kami and so her and momo tried things out for a little but it worked better for them as friends. jirou is a little heartbroken it didn’t work out and so is momo but they’re still best friends and now kamijirou are pining idiots who won’t get together till they’re adults. well that’s what i made happen lmaoo

bakusquad loves to gossip. i wanted to write dekusquad too but i feel like they’re way more nicer with each other and i love to write all the insults bakusquad has for each other bc they’re just like my friend group fs

ANYWAYS! Peace! I was thinking of making an exact one like this but the 6 years after they graduated. I have some scraps that i wrote for them as adults so do let me know if you would want to see a version with them as adults!

Remember to take care of yourselves and drink tons of water! Hydration and hygiene are important!!! BYE!
