Work Text:
"Are you curious if Suletta ever gets jealous?" Ericht, who was leisurely placed on Miorine's desk, asked a peculiar question.
"Why would I be curious?" Miorine asked, pausing her work to look at Ericht, a keychain.
Miorine knew that Suletta trusted her deeply. Suletta was gentle, kind, and never truly showed any discomfort or dislike toward anyone, she always respected everyone. Miorine was sure she had no reason to be curious—
"Jealousy is a spice in love, isn't it? When you love someone, you get jealous if the person you love is beside someone else..." The keychain's eyes flashed continuously with Ericht's enthusiastic voice. "Like when you were jealous of Elan(5) when he visited Suletta."
"Th-That wasn't jealousy!" Miorine defended herself.
"But your expression wasn't very happy when you saw Suletta holding hands with Elan and laughing with him." Ericht whistled. "And you were quite pleased when you managed to send him away."
Clearly caught by Ericht, Miorine rubbed her forehead, mumbling a reluctant admission, "Maybe a little..."
Ericht giggled when she saw Miorine's cheeks flush slightly.
"Anyway, Suletta has never done anything like that, even when she sees you beside someone else and chatting happily."
"That's because Suletta knows I would never cheat on her."
Miorine said proudly, confident in her loyalty to her adorably silly yet strong Tanuki!
"But don't you find it a bit uncomfortable that Suletta always seems fine when you're with someone else? Like, not even a hint of jealousy?" Ericht continued, making Miorine feel uneasy.
"Are you trying to pull some prank on me?" Miorine began to suspect, narrowing her eyes at Ericht.
"Of course not! I'm just curious!" Ericht explained. "Aren't you curious too?"
"I'd never be curious about something like that!" Miorine firmly said. Then, to avoid being distracted by Ericht, she turned off the device behind her neck and continued her work, ignoring Ericht, who seemed to be grumbling with continuously blinking eyes.
Miorine wasn't curious about whether Suletta could get jealous because Suletta trusted her, and she trusted Suletta.
She wasn't curious—
"I am curious."
Damn it!
Miorine couldn't sleep because she kept thinking about whether Suletta ever got jealous! Ericht, you bastard!
She tossed and turned in bed, thinking about the times when Suletta still smiled at her even when she chatted with some close business partners she met by chance on the street, or the times she came home late without notice, and Suletta didn't show any doubt or suspicion!
It's not that Miorine was doing anything shady or cheating on her. Just think about it...if it were Miorine, she would feel a bit uncomfortable and would question Suletta if she did that. But Suletta... did nothing.
She didn't know why, but she wanted to see Suletta's jealous face...
They had been married for over four years, and their relationship could be described as wonderful. Suletta was always happy to welcome her home, take care of her, talk with her, and cuddle her like a married couple would.
But Miorine felt their relationship was becoming too ordinary and safe. Suletta's lack of jealousy made her wonder if Suletta's feelings were still as passionate as before, if she was still important to her...
Suletta, who was always forgiving to everyone and everything, what would she be like when jealous?
"Alright, you're right, Ericht. I am curious." Miorine conceded, and all her curiosity was because of Ericht. It was all due to that talking keychain!
"Then why don't we see if she gets jealous?" Ericht giggled, excited like a child about to prank someone.
Miorine had a bad feeling, shivering even though it was morning and she was drinking a hot cup of coffee.
"But how do we make Suletta jealous?" Miorine took a sip of her coffee. "Suletta trusts me, and I'm not going to cheat just to make her jealous."
"We won't go too far! Hehe." Ericht laughed mischievously. "Just leave it to me!"
Miorine looked at Ericht with disdain, she had something wicked planned, or maybe she was just bored and wanted to mess around.
"You know, Suletta is gentle, but she has a strong possessive streak." Ericht said proudly, as an older sister who knew her younger sister well.
"I can vouch for that." Miorine took another sip of coffee. Suletta's possessiveness was most evident when they...made love.
She recalled how Suletta touched her, claimed her body, and left hundreds of kisses on her skin, making her scream Suletta's name, trembling and clinging to her strong back... Oh god, she loved that feeling so much, and she liked how Suletta was like a beast in bed—
"Don't you dare think dirty thoughts in front of me." Ericht reminded her.
Miorine nearly choked on her coffee, her face turning red. "How do you know what I'm thinking!?"
"It's written all over your face." Even though she couldn't see her sister-in-law's expression, Miorine was sure Ericht was looking at her with judgmental eyes.
Miorine coughed a few times to regain her composure. "So, how will Suletta's possessiveness help with your plan?"
"If something happens to come between you and Suletta by accident, making it difficult for Suletta to be close or have contact with you, Suletta will definitely get suspicious and show jealousy!"
"I don't think it will work." Miorine put her coffee cup down on the table.
"It will work if it happens over a long period." Ericht assured Miorine.
After a long business trip, Miorine was finally able to reunite with her wife. She rushed into Suletta's arms, hugging her tightly.
"I'm home."
"Welcome back, Miorine!"
The two kissed, ignoring Ericht's grumbling.
Eventually, they pulled apart, though Miorine was a bit reluctant. They needed to go inside rather than stand on the porch.
Suletta suddenly noticed something strange, sniffing and looking at Miorine. "Are you wearing a new perfume?"
Miorine's heart raced slightly. Was Suletta noticing something unusual? She wouldn't tell her it was a perfume she borrowed from Maisie and sprayed on herself. She forced a smile.
"A-Ah, maybe I brushed against someone, and their perfume rubbed off on me." she lied.
"Really?" Suletta's eyes widened, then she smiled. "Let's go inside!"
"O-Okay." Miorine nodded.
...Nothing happened.
After she finished showering and Suletta went in to take her turn, Miorine looked at Ericht.
"It's not working!" Miorine grumbled.
"Patience, sister-in-law. You know Suletta will only get suspicious if this goes on for a while. Have you done what I suggested?"
"Yes...The shirt with the lipstick stain is placed where Suletta will see it..." Miorine started feeling that this wasn't right. She shouldn't be doing this just to make Suletta jealous.
She had done things that hurt Suletta before, and now she was intentionally doing it again, playing with her emotions...
"Is this okay? Deliberately making Suletta jealous..." A pang of guilt rose in her.
"Don't you want to see what Suletta is like when she's jealous?" Ericht asked.
"I do." The guilt vanished.
When Suletta came out of the bathroom, Miorine eagerly watched to see how she would react.
But to her surprise, Suletta was the same as always, happily sitting beside Miorine on the soft sofa.
"Do you want to watch a movie before bed, Mio?" Suletta asked cheerfully, making Miorine feel a bit bewildered.
"...Sure..."
She had intentionally left her shirt on top of the dirty laundry, and she was sure Suletta would thoroughly check each piece of clothing since Miorine had previously left keys inside or even Ericht before. So Suletta must have seen the lipstick stain, right?
Miorine had endured the humiliation of asking the Grassley girls to help, and this time Renee had volunteered to kiss the collar of her shirt, which made Miorine uncomfortable. Yet Suletta had no reaction? Did she really not see it?
Although a bit disappointed, the feeling quickly faded as Suletta wrapped an arm around her waist, letting Miorine lean on her shoulder as they watched the movie together
The next plan was to deliberately come home late without any notice for several consecutive days. This would make Suletta suspicious due to the repeated pattern, or so Ericht thought.
Miorine felt she was going too far, but she couldn't turn back now.
"You’re late again, Mio." Suletta looked at her with concern.
"It’s just some unexpected things at the company, Suletta. Don’t worry too much." Miorine was frightened by Suletta's frown, quickly hugging and kissing her on the forehead.
"Really?" Suletta asked.
"Yeah." Miorine smiled.
Was Suletta wavering this time? Miorine felt a tinge of excitement.
And tomorrow was a day off, so she couldn't let tonight go to waste. Miorine quickly pulled Suletta to bed and started a passionate night.
Even the next morning, waking up with a sore body, Miorine enthusiastically got out of bed. Although Suletta was a bit rough last night, she would never refuse what Suletta did to her.
"Seems like Suletta is still the same. This is tough." Ericht began to feel disheartened.
Sitting at the dining table waiting for Suletta to prepare breakfast, Miorine watched Ericht grumbling like a child.
"Are you giving up?" Miorine propped her hand on the table.
"Never! You're the one giving up!" Ericht grumbled, feeling annoyed.
"What??" Miorine could even imagine Ericht puffing her cheeks in defiance.
"It looks like you’re losing interest in seeing Suletta jealous. Don’t let what Suletta did last night make you give up, Miorine."
"Shut up!" Miorine blushed, glaring at the keychain. "I'm not giving up!"
"Then let's proceed with the plan! I’ve already texted the girls at Grassley!" Thanks to her ability to connect to the Data Storm, Ericht could easily message anyone.
"What did you text them?"
"I told them to pretend to call you like an outside lover from an unknown number. You just need to act convincingly." Ericht grinned wickedly.
"But I said I don't like pretending to cheat-"
"Aren't you curious?" Ericht lowered her voice as if this was very serious.
Clearly, her sister-in-law's curiosity had swayed Miorine's reason, making her just as curious as Ericht.
The phone rang right after that, just as Suletta finished cooking.
"Miorine, let’s have breakfast!" Suletta said, glancing at Miorine, who was busy with her call.
"Oh, yes... I-I won't tell her, yes, yes, see you at the usual place? Tonight? Okay." Miorine pretended to mumble, and she couldn’t understand why the Grassley girls enjoyed participating in this prank so much. Was it because of Ericht?
This time, the participant with her was Nika, who, for some reason, also joined in, using a different phone number to pretend to be her lover, and she did it so seriously that it made Miorine act seriously too.
"See you tonight, then." Nika faked a different voice, then made a kissing sound, which Miorine intentionally let Suletta hear.
"Miorine?" Suletta approached, startling Miorine. "Is something wrong? You seem tense."
"S-Suletta? It's nothing!" Miorine forced a smile. "It's just that suddenly I have something urgent to deal with tonight, so I'm a bit upset."
Suletta seemed unhappy. Was she really affected? Was she about to get jealous? Miorine felt a glimmer of hope.
She knew this was wrong, and she was getting deeper into it, but who cared? She wanted to see Suletta's possessiveness, wanted to see Suletta hold her back and say that she was hers.
Miorine's heart fluttered and she was so happy that she couldn't hide her smile as they sat at the dining table. And Suletta noticed it.
Ericht was very excited to notice the strange, disappointed look on Suletta's face that she had never seen before when Miorine left the house. Perhaps they had succeeded, so she intentionally wanted to play with her mother tonight, leaving Suletta some private time and waiting for what Miorine would tell her the next morning.
Meanwhile, Miorine had gone to a bar.
Nika and the girls from Grassley chatted with her, and they seemed very happy and enjoyed teasing Miorine just because she wanted to see Suletta get jealous.
“I really want to know what Suletta is like when she's jealous!” Nika answered enthusiastically when Miorine asked why she participated. And she didn't need to ask how Nika knew when she glanced at Sabina.
“Hehe, who would've thought the CEO of Gund-Arm had such cute desires!” Renee giggled drunkenly. Who would have guessed that the president of a big company would go to such lengths to see her wife jealous!
They had a pleasant conversation, and Miorine finally returned home late at night.
Unexpectedly, the lights were still on, and Suletta was still waiting for her, sitting on the sofa and looking at her.
“Welcome back, Miorine!” Miorine didn't expect her to still greet her with a smile, but she noticed that smile was a bit weak, or was it because she was drunk?
“I... I'm home...” Miorine felt a bit disappointed.
“You smell like alcohol, Miorine...” Suletta took off Miorine's coat.
“Mm...” She was a bit tired, probably from being drunk, so she let Suletta help her inside.
“You also have a strange perfume scent.” Suletta placed Miorine on the sofa.
“Maybe it just got on me accidentally.” Miorine explained, shrugging.
“...” Suletta suddenly fell silent. Miorine felt strangely uncomfortable as Suletta looked directly into her eyes, with an oppressive atmosphere.
“S-Suletta?” Miorine called out.
Suletta just gave a sad smile. “Have you gotten tired of me?”
Miorine's mouth fell open, she didn't expect such a question from Suletta.
Suletta looked so sad, completely different from the smiling face she had when she saw her off.
“D-Do you not need me anymore?” Tears welled up in Suletta's eyes, making Miorine's heart ache.
She wasn't making Suletta jealous, she was causing her pain and self-doubt, and it filled her with regret.
“No, Suletta, I still need you!” Miorine explained, gripping Suletta's shoulders tightly.
“Then what about the perfume, the lipstick mark on your collar, always coming home late, and someone calling you with a kiss over the phone? What does that mean?” Suletta sniffled. Miorine was surprised—she noticed all of that. “I-Is it because you don’t love me anymore? Is it because I’m not good enough for you?”
Miorine felt a pang of pain. She had made a mistake! She hugged Suletta, stroking her wavy red hair.
“I'm sorry, Suletta, it's my fault, it's all my fault.”
She explained everything to Suletta, and finally, Suletta stopped crying. Her nose and eyes were red, and Miorine felt so guilty. It felt like she had dragged her into despair again.
“I'm sorry, Suletta...” Miorine stroked Suletta's cheek.
“I-It's okay.” Suletta sniffled. “As long as you still love me, that's enough.”
Miorine smiled weakly. This girl was so kind, so gentle, so forgiving. It made Miorine no longer care whether Suletta got jealous or not, what she knew and cared about now was that Suletta still loved her, and she still loved Suletta.
“I won't do this again.” Miorine gently kissed Suletta's lips, then her cheeks, and her eyes, where there was a hint of salty tears. “I love you, Suletta.”
Suletta giggled, hugging Miorine tightly.
“I love you too, Miorine.”
After the misunderstanding was resolved, Suletta reminded Ericht not to meddle again. The Grassley girls and Nika, though slightly disappointed with the outcome, admired Suletta's kindness and gentleness. Despite their disappointment, they appreciated Suletta more for these qualities.
Miorine felt happy seeing Suletta's cheerful smile and vowed never to put her through such a situation again. She also decided to ignore the suggestions of her mischievous sister-in-law, who was now sitting beside her desk.
“I admit I went a bit overboard,” Ericht acknowledged, knowing she shared the blame. She never imagined Suletta would blame herself out of jealousy. “I’ve been a terrible sister.”
"If you feel that way, then let's never do something like this again." Miorine reminded her, resolving to follow this advice herself as well.
A knock on Miorine's office door caught her attention.
"Ms. Miorine, Mr. Joseph would like to see you." the receptionist's voice came through.
"Alright, send him in." Miorine replied. The door opened, and a man walked in.
He was one of Miorine’s fairly close business partners. Occasionally, she worried about him, despite his charming appearance, he had a conceited and somewhat stubborn nature.
"Hello, Ms. Rembran, long time no see!" Joseph greeted her enthusiastically.
"Hello, Mr. Joseph. Is there something you need to discuss?" Miorine asked, shaking his hand and smiling professionally.
"Oh, it's not about work, Ms. Rembran. I wanted to invite you out."
"Invite me?"
Joseph nodded. "I know a very luxurious restaurant with delicious food. I wanted to invite you to join me there tonight. What do you say?"
"Sorry, but I can't," Miorine politely declined. "I'm having dinner with my wife tonight."
"Oh come on, Ms. Rembran. Just tonight." Joseph insisted, stepping closer and making Miorine feel uncomfortable.
"What is that jerk trying to do?" Ericht muttered in annoyance, though only Miorine could hear her.
"I already said I can't go." Miorine replied firmly.
Joseph, however, wouldn't take no for an answer. He grabbed Miorine's hand tightly. "Ms. Rembran, at least tonight. I've already prepared everything!"
His intense interest in Miorine led him to grip her hand tightly. Miorine had no choice but to use her other hand, trying to reach her phone to call security.
"Please, Ms. Miorine, agree, and we'll have a wonderful date—"
Suddenly, the pain in Miorine's hand disappeared as Joseph's grip was pried off by another hand.
"She said she can't go. Didn't you hear?" A deep, familiar voice spoke with a chilling intensity.
Miorine was astonished to see Suletta appear suddenly, grabbing Joseph’s hand with a deadly serious and angry look.
“Miorine is mine. The person she’ll date is me, not you.” Suletta used her strength to shove Joseph away, causing him to stumble back.
Just a few seconds later, the Grassley girls arrived thanks to Ericht.
The Grassley girls didn’t hesitate to quickly drag the man away. “I-I just wanted to invite Ms. Rembran to dinner!” his voice faded as he was escorted out.
Suletta...was so cool, so strong, and possessive. Was she really jealous?
“Miorine, be more careful next time. I don’t want anyone causing you trouble!” Suletta reverted to her usual gentle demeanor.
“...I understand.” Miorine dazed, found Suletta’s actions earlier amazing.
“And don’t let him or anyone like him touch you!” Suletta reminded her. “I don’t like it when others touch my wife!” Suletta pouted.
“Yeah, yeah...” Still dazed, Miorine smiled foolishly. “Thank you, Suletta, for protecting me.”
Suletta giggled. “It’s a groom’s job!”
“Silly, we’re already married.” Miorine gently pinched Suletta’s cheek, making her giggle. “But why are you here?”
“You forgot your lunch, so I came to bring it.” Suletta explained.
Miorine chuckled, cupping Suletta’s cheek. “Do you want to eat with me? It’s almost lunchtime.”
“Sure!” Suletta beamed with a contagious smile, making Miorine smile too.
“So that’s how Suletta gets jealous.” Ericht murmured with satisfaction, watching the happy couple enjoy their lunch together.
-End.
