Fracture of the Multiverse

Summary:

There's a disturbance in the multiverse-and a green and purple time travelling animatronic-Tangle-has set off to fix it. Her own dimension is in ruins, an apocalypse caused by the Apocalysite, a Crystal infecting and controlling those who find it.

Meanwhile, in Midnight World, everything is normal.

Until it isn't.

(I'll try to continue this, but this isn't really my story and my friend gave up 😭)

In a room hidden with darkness, an animatronic sits. She's powered on, and thinking. The situation she lies in is dire. She has to do something.

This is all my fault. I let the apocalypse spread for too long... and now everyone's gone... Tangle shuts her eyes in fear, tears quickly brimming in her metal eyes. Her dimension is ruined. Everyone's corrupted, and she's the only one left who's still sane. The Apocalysite is a strong crystal. She's tried to get her friends back, but they're all lost to the influence.

She stops thinking as she hears a loud bang close by her.

That sound...

She's suddenly alert, standing up. She's seen many explosions, and this is not one of them. This is different. She goes ruffling though her things to find a special device, and her pupils dilate as she figures out what's going on.

["Tangle, I know you're a little busy, but you're one of the only ones who can help with this. There's something wrong. I think it's the multiverse, or the light year... I dunno, I'm not technical with that stuff. That's why we're talking to you, haha. Sorry we can't tell you more."]

There's something wrong with the multiverse?! She starts to panic, putting the dimensional communicator down in a rush. This can't be good...

Sure, her source is a random message from someone she doesn't even know. But that's enough for her to at least check it out. Better safe than sorry.

Searching through her stuff once more, she finds the thing she's looking for. It's a time travelling device, given to her in case of a dire emergency like this one. She's taking a risk, but it's a risk she's willing to take. Her friends always told her how selfless she was, and now she was starting to realize it. Whoever created her must've done it with helping people in mind.

She changes a few settings and hits the top-middle button, a purple portal appearing in front of her. The wind from the portal blows her animatronic hair (How does that make sense?), but she doesn't care. She stares fearlessly into the portal and jumps in.

She ends up behind a short brick wall covered in bushes, and lands on her face. Cursing, she stands up again. She pulls out a light year tracker, and hums.

"I hope I can get to the damaged light year from here." She muses, looking at how close she is to the damage. She scrunches her eyebrows.

Not the most direct path. I'll try a different universe. She thinks, pulling out her portal device again and creating another portal. Sighing, she jumps through it.

And is immediately greeted by large amounts of shaking and glitching. Not letting her time travelling device leave her hand, she holds it tighter.

This one's too close! She internally yells, and with massive amounts of struggle, she hits the button again and falls through one more portal.

This time, she lands in a forest. Checking her light year tracker, she grins as she notices her position.

The perfect place... now I just need to find a few people that could help. She looks around before walking off, not even knowing if that was the direction she needed. She curses again as she falls into an alleyway-again, on her face. For the second time in her life, she thanks her creator for making her like this. She's extremely durable.

Not the best landing, I must admit. She thinks embarrassingly as she stands up again, looking at her surroundings. She rolls her eyes and looks for people who can help her again. Looking up, she sees a strange, old-fashioned sign.

Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. She reads, swinging her tail the other way. I suppose I could start there.

I hate socializing. She groans as she walks in the direction of the pizzeria.

Walking in, she's immediately scared half to death when a mangled animatronic swings from the vents in front of her. She observes its behaviour weirdly as it looks her up and down.

"Never-er see-en y-your-r fa-c-ce be-for-fore." The animatronic remarks. Tangle winces at how messed up it's voice box is. What happened for it to get so mangled like this?

"Um, I'm Tangle?" She informs, already hating this shit social interaction. Whoever this is twitches, before looking Tangle up and down again and saying, in its mangled voice box, "L-lovely-ly na-name."

"Alright Mangle, that's enough," someone interrupts Tangle from having to respond (because she was definitely going to).

He's the mascot, Tangle realizes. Brown bear with a black top hat and a microphone... though he's slightly withered, it's definitely recognizable.

"I-I was j-j-just t-talk-king-ing." The broken one, Mangle, answers, almost offended. The bear (Who Tangle assumes is Freddy) gives her a nasty glare, and Tangle immediately feels like she shouldn't be here.

"I know your tricks." He says coldly, and Mangle looks angrily and him before glancing at Tangle, and grunts in annoyance before launching themselves back into the vents. Tangle looks to Freddy.

"Sorry about them..." he apologizes, looking embarrassed. Tangle smiles awkwardly.

"I-it's fine." She almost asks, not really knowing what to say. He smiles back, almost amused. "I'm Freddy!" He introduced himself cheerily, holding out his hand. "You are...?"

"Tangle..." she answers, shaking his hand. She's glad she can at least get one thing right when she guesses. Freddy looks at her, cheery personality gone as he observes her behavior. She would've paled if she was a human.

"Cool name," he mutters, letting go of her hand, before getting to the point. "Why are you here?"

Tangle thinks. She could tell him straight on and make him think she was crazy, or...

Yeah, she's telling him straight on!

...he's looking at her weird.

"There's something damaged in one of the light years of our multiverse," she answers calmly, and surprisingly, he listens, tilting his head slightly in curiosity. "I'm looking for a few people-or animatronics-that could help." She reveals, and frowns when she notices his confused posture.

Did I say too much or something? Tangle asks herself, starting to get a little confused herself. Until suddenly, Freddy perks up, as if remembering something. He looks back to Tangle's eyes.

"I know someone who might help you." He tells her.

Keyword might there, huh? Tangle notes, slightly worried that he might've dealt with this before.

"They're a bit stubborn, just a heads up." He reveals with a sigh as he walks off, Tangle taking that as her invitation to follow.

"I don't mind stubborn people, I've lived with a bunch." She answered, getting a little annoyed at herself for continuing the conversation. Freddy seemed to notice her somewhat panicked breathing, because he thankfully didn't say anything more. He led her down the hallway.

There was another halfway broken animatronic (was that a style here or something?) sitting at the end, twitching. It's head perked up at the sound of movement getting closer to it.

"Cassidy, there's someone that wants to talk to you." Freddy greets, and Tangle frowns, confused. Cassidy wasn't the name of an animatronic in her book. What was wrong with whoever made these things?

The golden bear twitches some more. It seems a little agitated, but replies nonetheless.

"Who's this?" He asks. His voice box is deep, and it startled Tangle a little from its tone. Tangle continues to frown as she replies, "Tangle."

"Never heard of an animatronic with that name before." The bear mutters, and twitches again. Tangle winced.

"I'm from a different universe, and I'm here for important reasons." She says, and the bear twitches again. Freddy's still there for some reason, just silently observing.

"You must be." The gold animatronic looks over to Freddy with distaste. "I don't think she's a threat, Gabe. You can leave." He says it forcefully. Tangle gets even more confused-did she just call Freddy Gabe?

Freddy looks at Tangle, then at the bear. He sighs with a defeated, "Alright," before walking away once more. The two clearly antisocial animatronics stand (well the bear was sitting) in silence.

"You know you can sit down, right?" The golden animatronic seems to be insulting her, so she simply mutters some curses under her breath and does so.

"Right, sorry." She apologizes for some reason. She's doesn't even know why.

"So, what's got you so far from home?" "Cassidy" asks, observing her like Freddy did a minute ago. Clearly trying to piece together her intentions.

"I got a message from someone," she reveals, and the bear leans forward in interest. "They said something was damaged in one of the light years, and that it could potentially destroy the entire multiverse." She doesn't say anything about her life back "home," she just gives the info she needs to. Home is a future Tangle problem, unfortunately.

"That's concerning." Cassidy sums up her entire life in two words. "How did you get here, Tangle?"

Tangle hums and looks down. "I created something, a time travelling device." She sighs, saying it like it was completely normal. Cassidy looks somewhat impressed.

"An animatronic that found a way to time travel," he notes, seeming to smile beneath that unmoving expression, "you must be proud."

She did not want any awards. Nevertheless, she answered, "Yes, I am."

Silence fills the room, but it's short. The bear's next words causes her to freeze up.

"If you don't mind, what's your universe like?"

She considers how much she can say again. She decides to roil it down to simple plot points, while not revealing the extra sensitive stuff like not even knowing who brought her into existence.

"Well, I was perfect-" lies-"everyone was happy..." she mused at the happy memories she used to have, before he found it. She growls under her breath as she continues. Cassidy listens in silence. "Until one of my friends, Ennard, found something. I knew he was destructive and enjoyed causing chaos, but one day he decided something that took it too far."

She remembers the time he made the decision. Anger and amusement in his eyes as red turned to green, and all memories were lost in favour of nothing but chaos.

"He started an apocalypse with a rare Crystal-the Apocalysite-a lime green crystal that smells like toxic waste. You put it in the wrong hands-"

She takes a breath, and Cassidy seems uneasy.

"It will destroy the entire world, inside and out, until there's no life left. It will infect others and won't stop until everyone and everything is under its control." Tangle admits, expression sour.

"That's when I started working on the science of time travel, so I could go somewhere where the apocalypse never happened, so I could fix it."

She didn't know if it would work. Time travel seemed like a crazy thing. But here she was, right? Her extensive research would only cost her home. Unless she was lucky.

Which she usually wasn't.

"How long do we have?" Cassidy asked, tone making it clear he was concerned, and yet angry at the same time. Tangle gave it a thought.

"I'm not 100% sure. Probably a month, if we're lucky."

Did she say she usually wasn't?

Thankfully, Cassidy says something she needs.

"I will help you. It's our universe that's at stake, and I know a few people that might help. I don't like them very much, but we don't have a choice." His tone is slightly hopeful at the beginning, but anger quickly laced into his tone by the end. Tangle sighs with relief.

"Thank you, Cassidy," Her brain was too into thinking if anyone would think she was crazy and her plans to get therapy after this that she completely forgot that these animatronics might be used to this.

"Is that glitching thing happening again?" Midnight asked, phone in front of her. Nothing was going right. Not right in Midnight's point of view, anyway. She just wanted to chill in her own world, not keep going back to the Aftons every time they had even a minor issue. It was getting annoying to separate herself from her real duties like this. Not that lying to everyone was hard, it was just... seriously? She needed her own free time once in a while, too.

"Yeah, it is. Honestly, it's getting frustrating." Michael Afton echoed her thoughts, sighing. The two were in a face time, so they could see each other. Michael saw Midnight (or whatever she called herself in that universe), groan, lifting her head to her bedroom ceiling dramatically before looking back down at the phone, rolling her eyes. Her black hair (midnight black, if you will) swayed from the dramatic movement.

"I keep trying to tell KC to help them fix it, but that child keeps being the laziest mother fucker on the planet." The girl sighs.

"Do I need to come back?" She asks quickly, and Michael looks up to the Afton library's ceiling, thinking. "I think so." He answers, looking back at the phone. "Sorry, Midnight." The girl simply shrugs.

"It's fine. I was bored anyway." She sighs, before standing up. "I'll be right there, alright?"

Somewhere else, an army is preparing. Their leader is paving, before they growl and get too impatient. They clutch the bat in their hands tighter.

"Oh Tangle~" a smooth, calling voice calls the animatronic's name, glitching momentarily. "I have a surprise for you~"

They frown when there's not only no answer, but no sound in general.

Their now green eyes roll in disappointment and annoyance as they sigh.

"Michael," they call, and the Afton is immediately there, green eyes narrowed in annoyance.

"Get Tangle out of her room."

Michael frowns distastefully. They hate that look. Disobedience is a pain to deal with.

"Do it yourself." He rolls his eyes. Their face darkens in disgust.

"Michael, get Tangle." Their voice gets dangerously low, and Michael sticks out his tongue, but doesn't argue this time, as he teleports away with a glitch.

It takes only a few seconds for him to return. He looks a little panicked.

"She's not there." He informs.

Their eyebrows lower in nothing but pure anger. The leader of the army is enraged, and Michael winced at their leader's volume.

"WHAT?!" Ennard practically screams, lowering his baseball bat. She was going to pay for that.

She was going to pay dearly.

Notes:

Update will be reaaaaally long for this story, since about all of it isn't really mine, it's my friend's. Also because I work on my videos more than this story. When I write stories, it's most likely the ones in Afton Family One-Shots, anyway.
