Blurr hated Earth. It was quite obvious why, he hated the noise, how awful the organics were at driving, the speed limits that didn't seem to make any sense and the lack of heat pads.
Blurr hated being cold, which wasn't supprizing, it wasn't uncommon knowledge that velocitronians struggled to maintain their body heat. Their systems burning though energon to quickly due to their natural speed. Blurr had always been exceptionally fast, even for velocitronians, meaning he was also exceptionally cold.
So he desperately missed heating pads. Most velocitronians were very physical, often his own family would hug and pile on top of each other in front of the heaters to stay warm. Blurr had easily observed Bumblebee initiate contact with all of the Earth team members, seeking out heat.
It was strange seeing the way Bee behaved. He seemed so unaware of his inate need for warmth. There were other things too, small actions that Bee would perform which seemed so out of character for a velectronian. He was fast (though no where near Blurr's speed) but he clearly wasn't going as fast as he was programmed to be. Bee would often complain about being hungry, which made sense for the amount of fuel he'd burn from his hyperactivity but often wouldn't eat despite his complaints of hunger.
Once Blurr asked about why Bee wouldn't eat despite his insistence on being hungry. The only response he'd gotten being that he wasn't 'supposed' to eat then. Instead he strictly ate on a morning and night.
Blurr was sprawled, uncomfortably on his berth. The weather was slowly turning cold as summer gave way to crisp autumn leaves and breezes. And he hated it.
Back on Cybertron he'd made his room as warm as possible, filling it with heat lamps, pads, underfloor heating. He couldn't bring all of that to Earth sadly, though he was able to ask the medic stationed on rather, Ratchet, to build him a heat lamp. It wasn't nearly as effective as his own one at home.
He flipped onto his spinal strut, chassis facing the warm lamp pouring heat over his body. He was meant to meet with the prime on this planet within an hour, but he couldn't bring his body to move. The soft warmth pinning him beneath it's bright rays. Just as he was about to fall into stasis he heard the door to his room slam open.
A bright yellow mech grinned across at him. Smile slipping as he realized the foul mood he's just put Blurr in.
Blurr wanted to yell at him to leave but before the scathing words slpidded from his glossa as Bumblebee spoke, "What are you doing?" Voice shining with confusion as he inspected the berth that Blurr laid upon.
"Attempting to recharge before you bargerd in." Blurr attempted to fill his words with malice and venom but his lack of energy from the cold around him became more evident than anything else.
"I could tell that, Zippy, I was on about the weird light here." Bumblebee reached his servo infront of Blurr, fingers twisting in attempt to grab the light from the heater before quickly pulling away, having moved too close the the warmth.
"Are you dumb? It's a heat lamp." Blurr turned his helm to the side, scanning Bees face. Out of all the autobots here on earth, he was the worst liar. His eye ridges pulled down and thought as he pulled a finger to his chin. Deep in thought, that didn't happen often.
"Right but why?" Blurr really didn't want to deal with Bumblebee. He always had so many questions and topics that he needed to talk about. Blurr pulled a servo up to his face plating, pinching his brows in disappointment. How did a velectronian know so little about there own biology and culture.
"Heat lamps are used by velocitronians, like me and you, because we get cold. Primus, Please don't make me explain further." Bee looked at Blurr with an incredious look, befuddlement riddling his features before he spoke, "I'm not velocitronian." His words sounded more like a question than a statement.
At that Blurr bolted up from his berth, arms flinging infront of him as he gestured to Bees frame. "What do you MEAN your not a velectronian?! Have you seen yourself?!"
Blurr stood up, his word speeding with him as he starts to walk around Bee, quite rants about his observations.
"Your basically what comes up if you search velocitronians in the dictionary... How did you not know!"
Bee stood sheepishly as Blurr continued his tirade, struggling to catch all of the gibberish that was being thrown towards him.
After what felt like an hour but must have only been a few minutes, Bumblebee was finally able to get words out. "Didn't get to meet my family. They died just before the war, and I don't got any memory of them."
Bumblebee didn't seem sad by this fact at all, instead he still seemed to be processing Blurrs stament. Blurr stared, mouth parted so wide that when he went to close his mouth it ached slightly. Blurr was used to the horrors or war, he lived through it, but the idea that bumblebee, the bot whose plating was as bright and cheery as he was having no family to name, well it was shocking.
"I still don't get it though?" Bumblbee's voice broke though Blurrs processor. Blurr felt the exhaustion once again hit, this was tiring man. So instead he grabbed Bee by his hood and tugged him under the warmth of the light.
Bee was freezing, much colder than Blurr had been, his cold slowly seeping away as his body relaxed into the warmth. Eyes contently squeezed shut. He looked as if he wanted to talk still but was quickly shut up by Blurrs servo sticking a finger infront of his mouth. Instead of Bumblebee's incessant rambling the room quickly filled with soft rumbles of engines.
Blurr went to turn to Bumblebee, smug smile stretching his lips, quickly morning into a genuine smile as he notices that Bumblebee had fallen asleep.
A ping flashes across his optics, reminding him of the meeting he had in a few minutes. But instead of moving to get up he just sent a message to Optimus Prime, informing him of his absence.
Slowly he sank down next to Bee, the soft warmth radiating from the heat lamp, comforting shape of another bot next to him and soft purrs of engines echoing softy guiding him to recharge.
