“Fairy Godmother? Can you do a quick sweep of the city?” Chloe Charming of Charming Industries spoke her command to her supercomputer.
Her eyes were glued to the large monitor as the supercomputer checked video feeds across the city of Auradon. “Please let there be nothing.” Chloe hoped. If the sweep came up empty that would mean no one was in harm or in trouble and she wouldn’t haven’t to suit up. She could ask Red to hang out.
The blue haired girl kept her hopes up and was relieved when Fairy Godmother showed no suspicious activity. She sat up from her blue throne and headed to the exit of makeshift lair. “Bye Fairy Godmother I’ll see you-“ Her sentence was cut off by Fairy Godmother blaring an alarm. Looking back to the monitor the screen had changed to show footage of a hooded person. “How far away is this person?”
As she returned to her former spot the supercomputer finished its approximation of the hooded person. “This is so bad!” Chloe shouted as rushed to suit up.
-
Chloe sprinted to the Charming Industries loading dock in her suit. Her light blue knight armor seemed to blend in at the loading dock.
She almost crumbled when she saw the sea of blue trucks with the Charming Industries logo on the side. She tapped her ear. “Where was she?” Her supercomputer started loading visuals in her visor. Fairy Godmother had loaded directions to where the familiar hooded figure was.
When she reached the truck she saw the hooded person on top of the truck, “If you wanted to buy something from Charming Industries, I’m sure they have a website.”
The hooded figure jumped upon hearing Chloe’s voice. Turning around, Chloe saw only half of the girls’ face. She had an all red and black ensemble with a heart patterned domino mask. “You can’t be here!”
Chloe was taken aback she was worried she had actually scared her. “Why? I already know all your card tricks, I’ll be fine.”
The hooded girl scowled. “This isn’t a card trick! This is something important to me and you can’t be here for it!”
“What are you doing Thorn?”
She was shocked that the girl on top of the truck could look ever more upset. “Oh? So we’re breaking out the fake names?” Chloe opened her mouth to apologize but Thorn continued. “Well, ok then the little blue knight who can’t do anything helpful, what I’m doing is none of your business!”
“That’s not my fake na- I am the Glass Knight and I will defend the city of Auradon from evil doers like you!”
Thorn didn’t have a chance to reply, the driver for the truck was walking towards them. Chloe hid behind another truck while Thorn laid flat on the truck. The driver immediately started the radio and turned it all the way up.
Chloe came out of hiding. “What do you plan to do with this truck?”
The engine started. Thorn stood up for a moment. She put her hands around her mouth to project her voice in the now loud loading dock. “I’m gonna crash it! That’s what I’m going to do!”
The hero of Auradon grabbed the hilt of her blade. “I won’t let you!”
The possible villain of Auradon reached into her jacket’s pocket. “Don’t worry I’m not asking you.” Chloe tried to recall the other times she encountered Thorn being up to something mischievous. She needed to remember Thorn's possible attacks. The knight unsheathed her sword as her current enemy hurled a deck of cards at her. The cards grew in size as they got closer to Chloe. She was able to slash one to pieces but the others folded her in forcing her to be in a prison of cards.
Chloe heard the delivery truck drove off into the street. She was disappointed in herself and how she let someone like Thorn get away. “This isn’t over.” She declared. The hero tapped her ear, “Fairy Godmother, bring out the carriage.”

With the overzealous knight out of Red’s way she laid back to enjoy the ride. She had to enjoy some part of this mission. She could’ve gone out with Chloe but of course she had to stop one of her mother’s evil plans. The heir to the Jabberwocky Corporation thought back to how she got sent on the ridiculous side quest in the first place.

“Red, it is imperative that you listen to me.” Red came to Maddox’s lab so she could test out some of his prototypes and maybe take some of his snacks. She spun herself around in Maddox’s swivel chair.
Now she was being roped into another life or death scenario . “Maddox, I thought we were done with the whole vigilante thing? I did some good for the people and I did some good for me as well.”
Maddox shook his head and typed on his computer. “Red, your mother asks me to invent an impossible number of things everyday and because I like having a job I do it.” The inventor moved his monitor to show Red, “But I made a mistake and I believe I gave your mother a weapon.”
The weapon part of the sentence intrigued Red. She got up from her chair to look at Maddox’s monitor. “Roses have been done before and not by you but by nature.” She commented on going back to Maddox’s chair.
“This rose was engineered to spread its pollen the moment it hits air and when it does it targets a person's brainwaves.” Maddox had more to share but Red was done with explanations.
Red threw her head back. “Fine! I’ll go stop an evil rose. Which of my mother’s storage lockers is it in?”
All the fight Maddox had in him seemed to vanish. “Red, your mother has already deployed the weapon.” He didn’t look Red in the eye when he uttered the rest of his sentence, “I tracked it and your mother somehow planted it at Charming Industries.”

Her time to reminisce was interrupted by a sword flying towards Red’s face. She flung her body to dodge the sword. Red peaked her up to find where the flying sword originated from. “You come here often?” Red asked the knight riding along in a carriage.
The knight offered no verbal response but instead flung another sword at her. This time the sword connected at Red’s chest knocking her back. “Are you actually trying to kill me?” She looked at the sword that had attacked her and was relieved to see it had a rubber end.
“That sword didn’t have a real blade, my next one will!”
Red looked to the road, the truck still had some ways to go. “Maybe watch where you’re driving instead of where you’re aiming!” She reached into her coat again and pulled out a red stick. The road was empty late at night except for the truck and the knight’s carriage so Red threw it at the carriage hoping to confuse the knight. The stick exploded into an array of red fireworks.
The carriage started swerving and Red felt victorious. The fireworks started fading so she threw down another stick. She watched hoping the carriage would just come to a halt and the truck would leave the knight in its dust.
“Permission to board?” Red felt the truck wobble. She peered over the side of the truck curious as to how the knight asked her a question.
The knight was using her swords to climb on the side of the truck. “Oh come on! I can’t crash the truck to protect someone I care about but you can stab it!” Red was over this wannabe hero’s antics.
The Glass Knight pulled herself up to the roof of the truck. She stared at Red, this unnerved her. “You ditched your carriage and now you won’t talk to me?” Red was unsure if she should reach for cards or fireworks again.
The opposing force on the truck laughed at Red’s comment. “Don’t worry about the carriage, it always turns back into a pumpkin.”
Red was dumbfounded. “That’s all you have to say!” Again, The Glass knight continued to stare. “I don’t like this silent approach, if I have to throw my cards again I will.”
”Is it true that you’re doing this because it will protect someone you care about?”
Regret washed over Red, she shouldn’t have mentioned it. “So what if I am?”
The Glass Knight turned to the front of the truck. “We can’t let the driver be a part of this.” She declared. Before Red could question the ‘we’ part of the sentence. The Glass Knight ran and jumped in front of the truck landing a feet away.
The truck slammed to halt, Red almost losing balance. The Glass Knight walked over to the driver’s side. The driver rolled down the window. “Hello, sir! For reasons I can’t explain for your safety, my partner and I need you to exit the vehicle.” The driver didn’t respond. “Don’t worry I will personally make sure that your superiors at Charming Industries do not hold this against you.” The driver opened the window and stepped out. “Thorn! You can come down now!”
Again, Red was dumbfounded. This hero handled the situation way differently then she planned. She dropped down and joined The Glass Knight on the passenger side. “Wow didn’t know you had it in you, I guess you're my partner in crime today.”
“Or you’re my partner in crime fighting today.” The knight shot back. Red saw her partner in this quest tap her ear. “Fairy Godmother, could you control this truck please?” The knight seemed to be having a conversation in her helmet. “Oh. Location?” She turned to Red.
“The Enchanted lake.” With the location in mind the truck started driving itself.
-
“Ok, so my supercomputer will drive the truck into the lake.” Chloe told her current ally. Both of them were now outside the truck watching it slowly sink into the lake. “Are you sure this is the most environmentally safe option?”
The girl with the hood groaned, “Yes! I hid something under the truck that will destroy it the second it submerges.” Chloe had more questions but Thorn beat her to the punch. “Supercomputer? Is that how you do all this knight in shining armor stuff?”
Chloe was insulted by the claim, she wanted to explain to Thorn all about her years of training but the large red explosion in the water caught her attention. The lake was now like a geyser; it rained down sparkling red hearts. “How is that environmentally safe?” She pulled her attention to Thorn but was blinded by another burst of fireworks.
”Trust me it is! I’ll tell you all about it next time, princess!” Thorn’s voice was distant and by the time Chloe regained her sight Thorn was nowhere to be seen.

Red and Chloe had met at the corner of Auradon Prep. “I am exhausted! I can’t do school today.” Red cried.
Chloe nodded in agreement. “I can’t believe what I'm going to say but I don’t want to go to Swords & Shields practice today.” Red gasped at Chloe’s confession. Chloe rolled her eyes at Red. “Why are you so tired today?” The question startled Red.
”Last night I had to deal with this super annoying girl, I don’t want to talk about it.”
The blue haired girl frowned, wondering what kind of girl could’ve gotten under Red’s skin. “I had something similar but this girl was super frustrating!”
Red smiled, “Wow that girl must’ve been awful if she got Chloe Charming to describe her as frustrating.” The pair got closer to Auradon prep. “Do you feel like skipping today?” Her hopes were high that this was the day Chloe said yes to skipping.
Chloe shook her head, “No way!” Red displayed her annoyed face at the answer. “But I am willing to be five minutes late.” She offered.
”Good enough!” The pair of students/superheroes took the more scenic route to classes both unaware that their annoyance of the night was now their comfort of the day.
