- Ah! To hell with it!"— The guy with dark blue hair gritted his teeth ruthlessly and then began to collect the cards from the table in his palm. — "I propose a rematch!
- Maybe we should take a break? Let's go to the Good Hunter and have a bite to eat. — Free food sounded good to the former harbinger of doom, but not as good as restoring his honor.
- No. I want a replay!" — He answered stubbornly and began to lay out three character cards from the deck.
He took into account their basic reactions, collected the necessary action cards, and laid them out when needed. While the blonde opposite him was winning it so easily and bored!
- "But this is the fifth time!" — Kaedehara cried out pitifully.
Kazuha tried to give in so that it would finally be over, but he was quickly caught with an angry look and threatened with starting the game over. The brunette even tried to cheat a few times, reusing some cards when they were about to expire or trying to distract him with his own seductive actions or strange, pampered sentences. Fortunately, Kazuha's nerves of steel and endurance won this battle. But over time, he began to sincerely hate the people who invented this game or cursed his own luck.
However, they didn't seem to listen to him, so there was nothing left but to sigh heavily and start shuffling the deck again.
If the Wanderer was so eager to win, fine. He'll give it to him.
But he shouldn't be as obvious as he had been trying to be during the hours they'd spent in this room.
At least the cats nearby were supportive with their sympathetic looks and meows.
As soon as the deck was on the table, his eyes fell to the other side. His caller had changed the deck, now he had a shield, one electro and the other hydro, which healed with an explosion of elements at the same time.
Not bad when at the same time Kazuha hadn't changed his own team for the fifth game!
Everyone nominated their own active character and then the game began.
The traveler did not discard action cards until the health of his characters was less than six, except of course for the "Library of the Knights of the West Wind", which gives one more chance to roll dice or "Catherine". In this case, the character change will be considered a Quick Action, not a Combat Action. Although we won't lie, this is a useful card.
Also, the subscriber often changed the active character to a shieldmaker, who was really starting to annoy the blonde.
Each of his attacks had a result of zero when the character was under the shield, which forced him to waste dice.
Although in his case it wasn't a bad thing. He would rather spend more dice on a zero result and give the Traveler more turns to hit his own characters than start a sixth rematch. Screw it.
Also annoying was the electric assistant of one of the characters, which at the end of the round dealt minus two health and added an electric effect. But the brunette himself hadn't yet used the character's hydro, which could have entered into an elemental resonance, damaging three at once. He must have had a plan or something.
Meanwhile, Kazuha had already forgotten that his goal was to give in and lose.
- Don't furrow your brows like that. It makes me happy." — His gaze suddenly lifted and he noticed the other man's sly smile. It looks like he missed something or his boyfriend is just playing around and wants to make his brain explode.
Okay, the game continues.
Kazuha used the power of elemental resonance, making one of the characters freeze and not be active during the round. I was especially pleased that it was an electric character who had been bothering him the whole game.
The Traveler, on the other hand, clenched his porcelain fingers tighter, but his expression did not show that he was worried about anything.
He was quickly answered by an explosion of elements, which did no damage, but the entire team of the Traveler was healed by four health units.
He was so close to victory.
Now Sangonomiya Palace won't give him a chance. Unfortunately, he didn't have any of these in his deck, and he was surely running out of action cards. Mostly because he was exchanging them for daisies of the same element.
The blond man had a gloomy look on his face the entire game, while the Wanderer was damn pleased with himself and leaned back, crossing his arms over his chest, waiting for the caller to answer.
Well, he changed the active character to the one who had more health than all the others. If all went well, Kazuha would be able to use a quick action card to change the character and then use an elemental blast that would hit three at once and kill two. If the former Fate doesn't have any Teyvat Eggs left, he can finish off the last card with a regular attack in one turn.
But what was his surprise when all the characters resonated with the electric element and the last cards were destroyed. His mistake was not looking at the stored energy, so his expectations were completely different.
Kazuha was so close to winning. It was just a little bit too close!
- Yes! Damn, I won!"— The traveler slammed the table so loudly that the deck on the table flew in different directions. His eyes were burning with the taste of victory, and the corners of his lips were turned up, which was a rare occurrence.
The blond even immediately rejected the idea of revenge when he saw someone else's smile and such a burning look directed at him.
The former harbinger seemed to notice this, so he swallowed loudly and turned around to head for the soft couch where one of the cats was resting peacefully. It seems that these creatures are already accustomed to loud cries of victory and whining in case of defeat.
- "I won, so the food is on you,"— the guy said in a calmer voice and grabbed his own hat to put it back on top of his head.
The blond man just blinked his eyes and then sighed, relieved that they were finally done with it. Could this be considered a consolation prize?
- "Okay." — He answered quietly, and then just as abruptly stood up from the hard chair and hurried to catch up with his boyfriend, who was already at the doorway to the room, to put his arms around his waist and hold him tight.
If food wasn't such a special criterion for the Traveler, it would be a treat for him after a few hours of gaming. Especially in the company of a happy brunette.
- "This game is childish," — his partner shared his thoughts as he was leaving the room scattered with cards. "I think we should find something new." Kazuha just smiled broadly as he followed him out the door.
He was already planning to have those unfortunate cards suddenly disappear or be blown to bits by the wind, so this news made him excited.
- "Same here."— He whispered happily, mostly to himself, and then touched his lips to his cold cheek, ignoring the people around him.
