You will never forget the moment the little girl meets your gaze, her bright eyes too serious for one so young.
You know her at once—how could you not?
Nevertheless, you can hardly believe it.
Galdric wags his tail as the girl lifts her hand and lets him sniff her, then scratches behind his ears with undeniable familiarity.
Neither of you has spoken. The girl gives you a small smile you can tell is as rare on this face as on the one you once knew.
Well? she seems to ask.
