An otherwise unremarkable day

Summary:

... what she did not expect was to wake up on a random day in 2013 that she had no recollection or significance of, and she could only change one thing about this otherwise unremarkable day.

Chapter 1: The Premise

Notes:

I have never written anything other than school essays and work emails but this thing would not let me be.
I tried for months to squish it down and after combing through all 600+ IkSong fics here and not being able to find a work similar to this, I thought why the hell not.
I welcome your thoughts, but please be kind. I'm not a writer in any capacity and English (or Korean) is not my first language.

Fair warning - it's awfully dramatic :D

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

In the aftermath of the attack in S2 Episode 10, Chae SongHwa, the epitome of logic and reason, the unflappable emotional pillar of the lacking five, the 10th female professor of Neurosurgery who prided in her ability to always put mind over heart , is forced to carry on in a world without him.
Him; her best friend, her personal ray of sunshine, her goofball .. her heart.
It’s a world she no longer recognizes, it's a world where there is no color, no joy .. no reason to wake up to another day.

When she opens her eyes in a world she did recognize once upon a time, one that gives her a second chance to create the future she never had, a chance to change the course of their fate, she is determined to make it work, whatever it takes, whatever the cost ...

Notes:

This idea is inspired by many other fanfictions across multiple fandoms as well as some original works, including but not limited to ,of course, Hospital Playlist. I plan to incorporate my favorite dialogs and phrases from these works and I will give credit in all cases possible. However, I have been reading fanfiction for over 15 years and consuming media for lot longer than that, I may not be able to recall all the original works of the phrases that have been etched into my mind for years. So, if you read something familiar that I have not credited an artist for, it probably belongs to one of the incredible artists whose works I have enjoyed immensely over the years. I have no intention or reason to plagiarize any other artists' work.
Thank you for reading.
