Quills n’ Inkwells {DISCONTINUED/UNDER REWORK}

Summary:

When Ink Yearns to be able to feel as all those around him do, he makes a decision to enlist Sci’s help to locate A Soul that would be compatible enough for him.

What he did not expect was to have his memories wiped and an Echo of the Souls previous owner to be stuck in their body with them.

All while something sinister bubbles in the background.

Will Ink, now known as Quill, be able to keep the Multiverse from collapsing?

Or will it be all too late and everything they tried so hard to save collapses around them?

Chapter Text

You’ve probably heard this story before, the story of Fate and Destiny and all the others running a multiverse, where the balance of Creativity and destruction became so out of tune that Fate had to intervene, where Ink made more of a mess of the universes than any of the darker outcodes did.

But this story isn’t like those; this story is about what would’ve happened if Ink decided to change his FATE ; if he saw those around him and coveted a SOUL of his own, and what would happen after he got it.

When this Multiverse first formed it was blank and practically empty, nothing but the original verse had any life, this was the remains of a dead World.

This was the result of any of the scales that stabilized the World tipping too far one way or the other... and it was about to go through what would hopefully be its last remaking.

The first deities that emerged were that of LIFE , DEATH , TIME , and MAGIC . Those were the backbone to everything.

Eventually more came and for a while it was good, the stories were good, and this multiverse seemed like it was thriving. The Creators came to it in droves making more AU's and inspiring our Creator and giving LIFE back to the once-dead Multiverse.

But even this last chance seemed to be going through the same FATE as it had many times; the same FATE that had doomed this Verse so many times previously, but.. something changed… The Creator changed...

Ink knew he was different from all other monsters he protected, he knew that he lacked a Soul; but it didn't bother him, he had his vials to compensate and for a while that was that.

But.. the more he was around others the more he began to envy them, The more he was around others the more he coveted a Soul of his own; Emotions that were truly his own.

The issue was that you couldn't just make a Soul out of nothing, they were unique, the very culmination of one's being. So if he was to get a soul of his own he'd need help.

So he went to the one person he knew that studied Souls and their properties extensively;

Sci from a ScienceTale AU that already knew about the greater multiverse.

They both worked on this project for weeks, and eventually came to the conclusion that only a Soul from another Creator would be compatible enough for him to claim it for his own. And so, a few days later they had ready a machine that would lock onto Inks magical signature and look for a soul that was a close enough match that Inks magic wouldn't reject it.

And with that Sci started up the Machine

Ink stared in awe at the pretty mint colored Soul... this, this was his now. Ink cupped the soul in his hands and gently brought it up to his ribcage gently pushing it through to float in the center of himself.

He waited for something to happen, for something to click into place but his moment of anticipation was broken by Sci. " Don't be upset if nothing happens at first, it might need some time to adjust to your magic " Sci explained, he was looking over a few papers for the procedure and looked all together a mess; his lab coat was rumpled, and he had deep bags under his sockets from the days they spent working on this.

Sci sighed and looked at Ink " your body isn't used to having a Soul and neither are you so expect to be very emotional when it finally settles, if anything odd happens please contact me " Sci gives Ink a tired grin and he nods at his request; it's the least he could do for dropping this on him on such short notice.

And like that everything was done. Ink heads back to the Doodlesphere and continues his day as he normally would; he checked up on a few new AUs and everything was fine until it happened... when it finally clicked into place... And all of a sudden everything was too much.

Ink felt raw, like he had taken all his vials at once; only it was like the effect it normally had was increased tenfold.

It was all too much.

too much too much too much too much too much too much too much too much too much too much....

 And Everything, Went, Black....
