Work Text:
Space was… really boring. Just floating around aimlessly while waiting for something to happen was not what Uzi thought would happen when she jumped (got dragged?) into that mystery void. She must have played at least 300 games of tetris by now just to distract herself from the weird complicated mess she was in.
And don’t get her started on N, her mom who is also apparently somewhere in space if Uzi had to guess, V dying, Cyn using her as some weird puppet thing. Uzi groaned but space didn’t exactly travel sound waves. Uzi used her hand to push away a rock about to hit her visor.
She stared down at the now glowing Copper-9, she couldn’t see much but it looked really bad. She just hoped N was okay, she wouldn’t want her heroic sacrifice to be in vain. Or it was because they hung out a lot and she sorta gained feelings for him that she didn’t want to admit.
Uzi crossed her arms, being in space with her own thoughts was making her slightly insane, if she had one more thought about that idiot she might explode.
Uzi then saw something break away from the planet and start heading towards her. Holy- it was a spaceship. It was coming at her at practically full speed. She just hoped Ns pilot days taught him enough so that she wouldn’t get crushed.
The ship slowed down before coming to a halt near where Uzi was before N jumped out and pulled her into the ship by her arm.
“Uzi!” He hugged her tightly after closing the door of the ship, she hugged back just as tight.
N pulled away a bit before saying “Die mad?!” he pointed an accusing finger at the purple drone “Uzi you better not sacrifice yourself for me again!” then taking up a softer voice and continuing “I'm supposed to be the one protecting you.”
Uzi visor displayed a purple blush “Bite me! I want to protect you too, idiot. How did you even find me?”
“I found some old recordings about the… y’know giant eldritch horror hole.” Uzi snorted.
“Well, took you long enough, floating in space is more boring than humans made it out to be.”
A warning flashed on both of their screens warning them about low power.
“I guess saving the world can be after sleeping,” N said before laying on the floor of the pod.
Uzi followed suit and cuddled up to his side, N made a noise of surprise before leaning into the touch and wrapping his tail around her leg. They stayed like that for a bit, it was actually really nice. They snuggled even closer together, Uzi head under N’s chin.
No words were spoken for a while and the worker wondered if the larger drone fell asleep until Uzi heard N say:
“I love you, Uzi.”
“Don’t make it weird you dork,” Uzi said softly before sighing. “I love you too, N.”
