How do you go from, “Come over here and make me.” And “Is there a reason you're naked in my bed?” To “I think we need to talk.” How does that happen? How does everything just change so fast?
What happened to, “Hey, I'm with you, okay? Always.” And “I'll love you forever and ever.” To “I think we need to talk.” What happens? What makes everything change so fast?
Why can't we just “Don't you dare throw that snowball! Goddammit.” And “Teach me how to play.” To “I think we need to talk.” Why does it happen? Why does everything have to change so fast?
Where did the “Let's go get your favourite flavour of ice-cream.” And “I got you these because I thought you'd like them,” go. To “I think we need to talk.” Where does it happen? Where everything has to change so fast.
“Emily! Did you hear me?”
“Sorry, what?”
“I said, we need to talk.”
“See that's never good.”
“Nothings wrong, I promise. We just need to talk.”
“About what?” I asked, confused as to what we needed to talk about.
“I've been thinking. We've been going out together for a while. So I was wondering if it was time we took the next step and move in together.”
“I think that's a wonderful idea,” I said, pulling Melissa up to hug. Loving the idea of seeing Melissa in the morning and going to bed with her in my arms or me in her arms. That sounded pretty perfect to me.
Who knew “I think we need to talk,” could actually turn out to be something great.
When did “I think we need to talk,” actually turn into something quite magical.
