When Kim had come to band practice today, this isn’t exactly what she had been anticipating.
“Kim! Kimmy! Hi Kim!!!” said an excited Scott as he rushed into the house to tackle hug her. Wallace followed in behind him, gently pulling Scott off of Kim.
“Sorry, he’s small but he insisted on coming to practice anyways,” Wallace said, his voice fond but tired.
“It’s fine, we don’t really need him when we have Stephen,” Kim said with a sigh, “where is he anyways?”
“‘Bout that,” Stephen said, his voice soft. Kim looked around to see where the sound was coming from and eventually identified it as a lump on the floor. She lifted up the blanket slightly and was met with the sight of Stephen looking up at him with big anxious eyes.
“You’re small too aren’t you,” Kim asked quietly, trying not to startle him. He nodded and pulled the blanket back over himself. Kim groaned and looked around the room. “Is there anyone here who isn’t regressed?”
Neil raised his hand from where he was on the couch.
“Neil, you have a pacifier in your mouth. You’re not fooling anyone,” she said.
“Kim, Kim, Kim,” came Scott’s voice as he tugged at her shirt, being held back from grabbing her completely by Wallace holding his other hand to keep him in control.
“Yes, Scott?” she replied tiredly. Scott looked up at her starry eyed.
“Let’s practice!” he exclaimed with a grin. Kim raised an eyebrow.
“Without Stephen? While you’re regressed?”
“Mhm! I can play guitar!!”
“...You know what? Sure.”
And so they played, and by god, did it suck. So in the end, they all sat down and watched young young Neil play mario while Wallace made them lunch. It wasn’t exactly what Kim had hoped for when she came to band practice today, but it wasn’t so bad, not so bad at all.
