Either getting flirting tips from Jin was a terrible idea, or Hoseok was actually really really oblivious to your advances. Though you chalked it up to the former due to the fact that Jin's advice was to just make dad jokes and puny picky up lines to make him fall for you.
Yes, that was his advice. Dad jokes and pick up lines on the man that you have been crushing on for literal months. You tried that and the only reaction you got from him was his heart shaped smile, his cute giggle, and a slight blush to his cheeks, but no sign that he understood your advances. Fed up with it, you burst into the boy's dorm to hunt down the man that gave you that horrible advice.
"Kim SeokJin, you are terrible at giving love advice," you said bursting into Jin' room.
Jin jumped as he turned in his computer chair to look at you as you plopped face down on the end of his bed.
"Nothing working," Jin questioned rolling his chair to his bed patting your back. You made a low sound of confirmation to his question.
"Hyung, are they okay over there," a voice close to Jin's computer asked. You groaned realizing Namjoon was in the room probably discussing the new comeback.
"Love problems," Jin said to Namjoon causing you to swat blindly at Jin for talking about your business.
"It's not my fault he is so damn oblivious," you said into the sheets which probably made it come out as complete garble.
"Y/N, we can't speak garble," Jin said laughing." We speak Korean."
Turning your head, you just glared at the man that you considered your best friend.
"I said it's not my fault he is so damn oblivious," you huffed.
"Who are we talking about," Namjoon asked looking between the two of us.
"Hobi," Jin blurted causing your eyes to widen and for you to sit up in a flash.
"Jin," you shrieked," what the hell?"
"Hey, you aren't really that subtle about the heart eyes," Jin said in between giggles." I think the only person that doesn't see it is Hobi himself. Am I right or wrong, Joonie?"
"Right," Namjoon confirmed coming to sit on the bed." The maknaes are actually making bets on when you two will actually get together."
"Who's winning so for," you inquired more curious than actually mad that were betting on your love life.
"So far Jimin and Jungkook," Jin said." Taehyung lost a week ago. Jungkook has two weeks left on his and Jimin has three. Now they made this months ago."
"I hate them so much," you chuckled." I really feel the love, guys."
"Least you know we are rooting for you for you," Namjoon said sheepishly.
"Namjoon, you are smarter than Jin," you commented causing Jin to make a noise of being appalled." Give me some better advice than dad jokes and corny pick-up lines.”
" So that's why you have been acting more Jin-hyung like," he said," well more than usual."
Jin and you just stared at him and spoke at the same time," -And what is that supposed to mean?"
Namjoon physically gulped waving his hands in surrender.
"Can we get back on topic of Y/N's crush," he said trying to curve the conversation back to the main issue.
As you were just about to speak, a voice came from the doorway.
"Y/N has a crush? Who's the lucky one?"
The voice ended up being the subject of the conversation, Jung Hoseok, dressed in plain grey joggers and a black t-shirt. At this point your brain had decided to leave you and you were left stuttering.
"Jeong Yunho," Jin picked up while you continued to open and close your mouth like a fish.
Hoseok looked completely confused for a bit before putting his hand on his chin and started thinking. You started to grow nervous. You and Yunho had just started hanging out when he and his other members came to the flower shop you worked at to escape the rain one day, and Wooyoung recognized you as Jin's friend from when he was a BigHit trainee, and from seeing you at BigHit when he would visit Yeonjun.
"Ateez's Yunho," Hoseok questioned.
"Yep," you kinda yelped out when Jin decided he was tired of your mouth flapping and pinched your side," that's the one."
"Huh," Hoseok made a little noise.
"What," you eyeballed him not liking that noise from him." Is there a problem with who I like?"
"Just didn't know you liked younger men," he rolled his eyes." I would have thought you would have gone for someone our age not younger than Jungkook."
This was just the point where Jin wishes he kept his mouth shut.
"Last time I checked I could like who I wanted, and Yunho is legally an adult," you sassed," and another thing why would you care?"
"I don't," he snapped. You could tell he was slowly getting jealous." I'm just shocked me that you of all people would go for a younger man."
"He is a dork, funny, caring, a really really good dancer," you said secretly naming off things about Hoseok you liked smirking," and not to mention he is cute. How could I not like him?"
Jin and Namjoon could do nothing but stare at the ticking time bomb you were creating in front of them.
"Doesn't make up for the fact that he is a '99 liner," he huffed crossing his arms.
"Why are you so worried about this," you questioned pushing his buttons. "What? Are you jealous?"
After you questioned that, his cheeks and tips of his ears turned bright red.
"What, no," he stuttered.
"So," you asked," is there a reason you're blushing like that?"
Hoseok stumbled on his words before huffing and leaving the room causing you to start giggling.
"You needed Jin's help alright," Namjoon said sarcastically as you stopped laughing," but it seems to me that you have making him blush down pat. Although you might want to stay away from Yunho for a bit."
"Just making him blush isn't going to make him fall for me," you said matter of factually.
"Maybe not," he said," but it's a start."
"And here I thought dad jokes and puns were the start," you sarcastically rebutted." What's next? You are going to tell me to send him flowers with little love letters?"
As you said that, a figurative light bulb lit over each of your heads.
"That's it," you said together before setting a plan to use your flower meaning knowledge and to make a plan for Hoseok to get these without a problem.

The bouquet that started it all: Sunflowers, red carnations, white camellia, and baby's breath
Sunflowers means adoration, dedication, and dedicated love
Red carnations means love, pride, and admiration
White camellia means thought to bring lucky when given to men by women
Baby's Breath means pureness and innocence
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You have never felt so nervous delivering a bouquet before although those were never for your crush. That night after Hoseok stormed out you, Namjoon, and Jin formulated a plan to use your knowledge of botany to craft bouquets to symbolize what you wanted to tell Hoseok. Things that in Jin's words are to chicken to actually say to his face. Honestly you and Hoseok haven't really spoke since that night besides a text from Hoseok say he was sorry for the way he acted.
Now here you are in front of his studio door where Jin said he was. You braced yourself as you rang the doorbell by the door. You held your breath hiding slightly behind the flowers. Moments later, you hear the door open and a tiny "Oh?"
Peeking from behind the flowers, you said the official deliver speech you gave every time you had to deliver.
"Official greetings from Garden Variety, delivery for a one lucky Jung Hoseok."
"Y/N," Hoseok asked taking the flowers out of my hands," these are for me?"
"That's what the order said," you said moving from one foot to the other." Jung Hoseok at BigHit Enterainment."
"Wow," he awed at the arrangement of sunflowers, white camellias, red carnations, and baby's breaths. "Hyung, look at this."
Hoseok walked back into his studio motioning you to follow. Yoongi sat in a desk chair close to the computer signaling that they were working on something before you interrupted.
"I wonder who they are from, Hobi-ah," Yoongi said smirking your way causing you to freeze.
"Nah, they are probably from Eomma or Da-Won-noona," Hoseok said sitting them down to look at the card.
Reading it, you could tell Hoseok was getting flustered since he was turning red in the cheeks.
"Not from them," Yoongi smirked reaching for the card and was given it as Hoseok sat in his desk chair and stared at the flowers in awe and adoration.
"Facts about sunflowers: Sunflowers like to follow the sun and are known to be used for healing. I hope these follow you as you are as bright as the sun and heal you when you are feeling down. ~Kkulbeol (Honey Bee)," Yoongi read off whistling when he was done." They laid it on thick."
"Ahhhhh," was all that came out of Hoseok's mouth as he covered his red face.
You walked over to the flowers and Hoseok, patted his shoulder while gently running you finger over one of the petals of the sunflowers.
"They must really like you, Hobi," you said feeling slightly weird talking about yourself but like not at the same time.
"They are just being nice," he denied not believing it.
"The flower meanings say different, Hobi," you smiled at him," sunflowers, baby's breaths, white camellias, and red carnations."
"What do they mean," he looked at you with wonder." You want to tell me?"
You smirked at before kissing his cheek and backing out the studio saying," Time to use the internet."
Closing the door and speed walking down the hall, you smiled to yourself feeling accomplished at least a little bit.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you knew starting this whole love letter and flower thing would make your heart race every time he received them, you would have done it from the start. Seeing his face light up when he received them from either you or a different flower shop (just to make sure it didn't get traced back to you that easily) brightened your day. Although you were starting to lose hope that he would ever figure out who Kkulbeol was.
It's been weeks and the year is slowly coming to an end. 2019 was almost over and 2020 was peeking its head into the picture, and with the boys flying out to New York for New Year's, there wasn't much time to spend with them while they got ready for everything.
"Jin, I seriously am losing faith at this point," you sighed into the phone." He is not getting any of the meanings and all I'm getting from the letters is the same reactions I was getting from the puns."
"Y/N, you can't just give up," Jin plead on his end." You don't see what we see at the dorms. You don't see him reread the notes and smile."
"But I know he is nowhere close to figuring out that it's me," you huffed picking up the glass encased Moonflower your boss gave you for a birthday present and started passing it between your hands. "Nor has he made it known that he likes me. It's hopeless, Jin. I should stop before I get too deep in my feelings worse than I already am."
"Please give it one more shot," Jin continued to plea." You saw how jealous he got when he thought you liked Yunho. He likes you back. Trust me. He just needs a little push."
You laughed humorlessly before saying, "He has not even showed signs of liking me. I'm just a friend and you know it."
"Just one more time, Y/N," Jin sighed," one more time and I'll quit bugging you, please."
You sighed closing your eyes for a second.
"Be direct," he said." Tell him to meet you somewhere. Reveal who you are."
" You are trying to ruin our friendship now," you groaned. "He would never look at me as a friend again."
"You know as well as I do, he would never want you to leave his life," Jin sassed.
Thinking for a couple of moments, you groaned knowing Jin was right as usual.
"Fine, but I need your help staging this," you said formulating a plan off the top of your head.
"Just tell me what I need to do," Jin agreed.
'Today was going to be a turning point,' you thought as you told him your plan.

Phase 1: Was Jin bribing the guys to an early dinner to celebrate Tae's birthday early, so you could set up one more floral piece in Hoseok's studio.
Taking your Moonflower crystal and surrounding it with morning glories, you shakily messaged Jin saying you were done in the studio and made your way to the roof where you stated in your note you wanted to meet.
It was now or never.
Phase 2: Was Jin telling Hoseok that he left a flash drive that he wanted to give Namjoon for a solo in his studio causing Hoseok to return to BigHit to retrieve it.
Hoseok really didn't understand how this flash drive would even have ended up in his studio considering Jin hasn't been in there in weeks, but Jin insisted that it was there and who was he to question his hyung so he went.
He thought it would be a quick in and out trip. Get the drive and go. That was until he saw the beautifully arranged flowers on his desk.
Blue flowers that he semi-recognized as morning glories surrounding a flower encased in glass, which he swears he has saw before, with a folded note tucked on the edge of the morning glories.
He unfolded the note after taking a picture of the arrangement, a habit he had picked up after the first one.
The note read," I know you have been wondering who I have been. How I got into your studio to do this? Most importantly why I have done this. Honestly this terrifies me to reveal, but I am someone close to you. Someone who is terrified of losing you if you react badly to this discovery, but this needs to happen so I may more on with less heartbreak if you do react badly. I absolutely adore you, Hoseok, and I really like you. You are the literal embodiment of the sun, and I find myself becoming a sunflower to just follow your brightness and happiness. My only hope is you forgive me for being hidden for so long. I am on the roof if you wish to meet. I will be there till 10pm. If you don't show, I understand and will not try and contact you this way again and will try and continue life as normal. ~Kkulbeol"
Hoseok looked at his phone checking the time. 9:45 PM. His eyes widened as he rushed out of his studio and toward the elevator to the roof. He needed to know who you were and if his gut was right on who he thought it was.
Final phase: Wait til Hoseok read the letter and hope he showed up.
You stood nervously checking your watch. 9:50 PM. 10 minutes before the official time you would give up on the man that you loved. Clenching you fists, you prayed to any deity out in the world that Hoseok would show.
Then you hear the door to the roof slammed open making you jump and snap your head to the door. There stood Hoseok completely out of breath.
"Y/N," he said finally catching his breath," it was you all along."
"Yeah," you said quietly, "it was me."
"Why," he asked as he got closer." Why like this?"
"Because, as Jin says, I'm too chicken to actually say it to your face," you said turning to face him. You clenched the flowers you held since you settled yourself on the roof. You held a jonquil and a yellow and orange striped carnation in your hands. "Honestly he is right on that one. I....Well.. Was too chicken. The only reason this is happening was because this was going to be the last time it was going to happen. I didn't feel like you were getting my advances or even trying to figure out who was sending them."
"I tried figuring it out and you were who I thought at first, but then I thought to myself 'No, she likes Yunho not you. That's impossible," he explained scratching the back of his neck.
You let out a laugh.
"You still think I actually like Yunho more than like a little brother. Jin just said that because I was flapping like a fish because I wasn't expecting you to walk in on that conversation."
Hoseok's mouth dropped open. He walked closer to you to where you two were standing only a couple of feet apart.
"So, you don't like Yunho," he questioned.
"No," you confirmed," he is like a big little brother to me."
"And you like me," he again questioned.
You blushed before confirming again," Yes, I do."
Hoseok looked to your hands seeing the flowers you were holding." What is this?"
A lump formed itself in your throat as you held out the blooms. "Your possible answer to if you return my feelings or not," you forced yourself to say.
"How would I know if I'm picking the one that matches how I feel," he inquired.
"Flower language," you responded quietly," you might have stumbled on the meaning of these if you researched the others I sent."
You stood in fear as you both went silent. Hoseok examined the blooms in each hand analyzing his options. One a rejection. The other the return of affection.
Your heart started beating almost out of your chest as you saw him reach and grab the carnation. Rejection. He rejected your feelings. He didn't like you back. Tears started to form as Hoseok studied his choice before looking you in the eyes and started to smile.
Why was he smiling when he rejected you? What gave him the right? Did he think your feelings were a game?
Then as you started to speak to tell him off for smiling, you watched as he tossed the carnation off the roof.
"Striped carnation," he said taking the jonquil out of your hands," refusal or rejection of affection. Jonquil- returned affection or desire for affection to be returned."
You were flabbergasted as he stuck the bloom behind your right ear as well as stepping slightly closer and leaving his hand to rest on your cheek.
"Wait, what," you questioned absolutely confused." Does this mean you like me back?"
He giggled as he brushed his thumb over your cheek.
"I've liked you for months now," he said smiling his beautiful heart shaped smile," and my crush got worse when you started using those cheesy puns and pick up lines on me."
You rolled your eyes scuffing at the latter bit of his statement.
"You couldn't have just put me out of my misery then," you whined." We could have skipped this whole meeting on the roof with an added emotion roller coaster you put my heart through."
"Emotion roller coaster," he laughed.
"Emotion roller coaster you caused by making me think you rejected me," you pouted." You made my heart do flip flops."
His smile then widened before coming almost impossibly close leaning in your face before whispering," can I make it do flip flops for a good reason this time?"
He was so close to your face. You nodded unable to verbalize anything.
"I need verbal consent, little Kkulbeol (little honeybee)," he said holding your face in his hands.
"Yes," you squeaked out.
With that, he closed the distance between you two, slotting his lips with yours, kissing you softly. He kissed you as if you were made of precious glass before you wrapped your arms around his waist pulling him closer to you making him kiss you harder.
Pulling away, he connected your forehead to his staring you in the eyes.
"So, you come here often," you asked breathless in the silence that followed your kiss.
"Are you flirting with me," he asked throwing his head back laughing.
"You finally noticed," you giggled," or do I need to send more sunflowers?"
He looked at you lovingly before pulling you towards the roof's exit and elevator.
"Come on, my little Kkulbeol," he said wrapping his arm around your shoulders, "the night is still young. Let's go do something."
"With the sun around me, like a sunflower, I'll follow you anywhere."
"Now you are definitely flirting with me."
