Work Text:
Jungkook pulled Jin down onto his lap, they were sitting around the coffee table of the studio as they took a short break from recording.
Namjoon smiled at them from over the rim of his coffee cup and looked back down at the lyric sheet he’d been torturing with his pencil, constantly erasing and rewriting.
Yoongi flopped down on the sofa beside Namjoon and looked over at Jin and Jungkook, the latter of whom had his arms wrapped securely around the former’s waist. “You both look cosy,” he said finally.
Jin just smiled while Jungkook squeezed his waist gently.
Jimin frowned, “Jin-hyung, are you sure you’re comfortable?”
“Yes, I am.”
“There is a perfectly good sofa in the studio, you know?” Taehyung commented, looking amused by the entire thing.
Hoseok looked up from the lyric sheet he had joined Namjoon to peer over, “Ah, leave them be Tae.”
Jungkook looked over at him in polite curiosity, maybe Hoseok had finally caught on?
But his moment of hope was squashed with Hoseok's next words, “It’s nice to see them not play fighting for a change. You should have been here when Jungkook shoved Jin-hyung a little too hard and he fell into a table covered with expensive makeup. The noonas almost started crying, luckily Jin-hyung is a smooth talker and settled the matter.”
They all shared a laugh as if Jin and Jungkook weren’t even in the room, the audacity, honestly. None of them had a faintest idea about Jin and Jungkook being a couple. Jungkook could feel Jin shaking in silent laughter and bit his lip to stop himself from laughing because Seokjin’s laughter and happiness was contagious, it spread to him instantly.
He loved to see Jin laugh, not a half-assed laugh where he raised a hand to cover his mouth but a full belly laugh, where he threw his head back and didn’t bother to make it presentable. And it was even better when Jungkook was the cause of that unbridled happiness on Seokjin's face.
Seokjin sat there on his lap for the rest of their break. The conversation flowed as it normally would, good-natured teasing and ribbing, bickering about the choices for the music videos they could film, and wondering when they’d be done with all the material so that they could be closer to releasing their next album.
As Pdogg walked back in, Namjoon unfolded his long, lanky limbs from the sofa and headed over to the mixing desk to find out if they had time to re-record the bridge with the new lyrics. Hoseok stood up as well and followed Namjoon to the desk to ensure he didn’t go overboard because they didn’t want to end up bothering Pdogg with the countless requests for re-recording, there’s only so much the poor man could take.
“Jin-hyung, Pdogg-PD said we can re-record the bridge, so come on, you’re up first.”
Jin sighed reluctantly and stood up from his place on Jungkook’s lap and turned to offer his boyfriend a hand to pull him up to his feet. Jungkook’s fingers entwined around Seokjin’s fingers and he squeezed softly before turning to see whether anyone was watching and stole a quick kiss from him.
The way Seokjin relaxed into his kisses would never cease to amaze him and Jungkook found himself getting more and more carried away. Seokjin’s hands went up into his hair and pulled softly, Jungkook groaned before nipping Jin’s bottom lip lightly and pulled away.
“Cheeky,” Seokjin grinned and pinched Jungkook’s bum before walking over to where Namjoon was standing at the desk. Jungkook looked after his boyfriend longingly, wondering if they could get away with sneaking into a storage closet or something for a quick fuck. Seokjin turned to wink at him, almost as if he’d read Jungkook’s mind before turning his attention back to their leader who was still scribbling on the lyric sheet.
Jungkook sighed and turned to see Jimin, Taehyung and Yoongi looking at him dumbfounded. He had the decency to blush because the three of them had witnessed the mini-makeout session. But at the same time he was a little pleased that the secret was out, even though it wasn’t the way Seokjin wanted to tell the others.
Jungkook grinned at them, shot them a cheeky ‘V’ sign and walked over to where Hoseok was beckoning him over so he could get ready to record his part on the bridge.

When they finally called it a day, the members headed back home, while Jungkook made up some excuse about waiting for Seokjin who had gone to the loo.
When Jin emerged from the bathroom, Jungkook wrapped a hand around his wrist and pulled him close and whispered in his ear, “I have a date planned for us.”
Jin’s eyes widened, “A date? Where?”
Jungkook smiled mysteriously, “Let’s go, and I’ll show you.”
A tall building came into view from the car window and once the car stopped in front of it, Jungkook pushed open the door and slipped his hand into Seokjin;s once again, he couldn’t hold it while they walked through busy streets but the streets were virtually empty in front of this building and they also had masks and bucket hats pulled down low so there was no chance of being spotted. “We’re going up to the roof,” he said after pressing the button on the elevator in the lobby.
“How did you get permission?” Seokjin asked as he stepped into the elevator and watched the metal doors slide shut.
“Mingyu’s friend from school works here, she gave me the key.”
“And pray, how did you manage that?” Seokjin asked, his eyes narrowing slightly.
“Oh, I bribed him with a TikTok challenge for Seventeen’s new comeback. He was very pleased.”
The doors swung open as the elevator shuddered to a halt at the top floor. Jungkook pulled Jin out of the lift and pushed open a door that led to a rooftop garden decorated with fairy lights and a table set for two.
Seokjin’s delighted gasp was all he’d ever need as a thank you. It was honestly a very tough thing to plan a date to the nines with Seokjin, he’d never ever put in so much of an effort for any other person. But then again, Jin wasn’t any other person.
“Ggukie,” Seokjin had turned to look at him and Jungkook felt his heart skip a few beats when he saw the way Jin’s eyes shined brightly and the happiness in those eyes was for him.
Seokjin ran a hand over the simple, off-white tablecloth on which a bottle of champagne rested, along with a simple bowl of spaghetti. “Jungkookie, darling,” he asked, slightly amused. “Where did the champagne and pasta come from?”
Jungkook rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly, “I may or may not have cooked the spaghetti and bought the champagne in the morning before we went to the studio.”
“Who helped you?” Jin asked curiously, Jungkook had never once shown any cooking prowess apart from ramyeon but he was getting better as the days went along. “Yoongi-hyung.”
Jin blanched, “He knows?”
Jungkook winced, “No, no he didn’t when I asked him, but uhh Jimin-hyung, Tae-hyung and Yoongi-hyung saw us kissing in the studio.”
Seokjin’s eyes bugged out comically, Jungkook chuckled a bit. “Sorry, hyung. It was bound to happen. I’m sorry though, I know you wanted to tell them together.”
“Ah Jungkook-ah, it’s okay. Hyung’s a little relieved. I wanted to tell them but I kept chickening out. At least now we just have to tell Namjoonie and Hoseokie.”
Jungkook winced, “Hyungs probably told them already,” he said apologetically. Besides, it’s not like we’ve been hiding it well. I made you sit on my lap today.”
Seokjin laughed in his little quirky way and sat down on the chair Jungkook had pulled out for him in a very chivalrous manner that had made him giggle.
They had made it halfway through their bowls of pasta and their glasses of champagne when a large thunderclap sounded and it began to pour heavily. Ah, the joys of Seoul in the monsoon. Jungkook groaned and buried his head in his hands.
Seokjin smiled at him softly before reaching out for his hand and taking it in his.
“Jungkook, baby, it’s alright you know?” He said softly, “It’s just a bit of rain, never hurt anyone.” Alright, so maybe he was playing it off with a little too much ease because Seokjin didn’t particularly want to ruin the nice hairstyle he had that day.” Jungkook looked up at Jin and quirked a small smile when he saw the rain water had soaked his hair.
Seokjin let himself be pulled up onto his feet by Jungkook and was pleasantly shocked when Jungkook’s hands went around his waist and they began to sway softly.
“My, my, Jeon Jungkook,” he murmured playfully, “Are you trying to dance with me?”
Jungkook blushed, “Why yes, is it working?” he said and squeezed his boyfriend’s waist. Seokjin beamed and raised his arms to loop around Jungkook’s neck as the rain pattered down around them.
They returned to the dorm, dripping water all over the floor as they hurried to grab a few towels from Jin’s room. Jin finished towelling off his hair as well as he could and stepped out of his drenched clothes and into an old well-worn pair of RJ pyjamas.
Jungkook peeked his head out of the en-suite-bathroom and smiled when he saw Jin lying in his bed, the blanket pulled up to his chin. “Room for one more?”
Seokjin beamed and opened the blanket just enough for Jungkook to slip in and allowed his boyfriend to wrap his arms around him. Seokjin sighed happily and raised his head to kiss Jungkook softly, “Thank you for taking me on a date,” he whispered and rested his head against Jungkook's chest.
Jungkook kissed his forehead, “I love you, Jin-hyung.”
Jin smiled against his chest, “I love you too, Kookie.”
