Chapter Text
Running. He was running through the woods. Across rocks, through valleys, all drained of any color besides grey hues. He felt so tired but he was chasing after something.
He called out to anyone. Hilda. Twig. Johanna. The Great Raven. Tontu. Frida. David. Cedric for anything!
Bartell...
Oh he was so alone! He didn't know what do to or where to go! Everything felt like syrup around him and void at the same time. He couldn't breathe. He couldn't think. He wanted to go home!
His home in Hilda's room. His home back in the valley. Anywhere but here! It felt like something was eating at him from the inside out!
It made him want to shout out into the petrified land that took away the peace in his mind.
He wanted to cry.
Cry all his worries away.
Cry and be comforted by those he loves.
Cry and forget this repeating nightmare that plagues him and consumes every part of his being.
It was too much.

Alfur watched the woffs in the sky go by. There were seven he counted. They flew until they disappeared into the clouds. He wanted to disappear.
He was mostly alone in the house. Hilda was at school, Johanna getting groceries, Tontu some random crevice...
What good did he do here? Hilda usually helps people, Johanna is the reason they have the house, Tontu can go anywhere just through small crevices.
David and Frida usually helping too, Bartell runs a clan, the Raven gets his own parade... He... Alfur is just...
He was replaceable that's what.
They sent someone to replace him before... Why would him being gone make a difference....
Thoughts in his mind drifted off. Feeling half finished or the start of a rant with no energy behind it.
Alfur curled up on the window sill and quietly sobbed. He wasn't useful around here! Never was. He didn't know what to do anymore. Sure, Hilda went on these adventures he could document for the elves - but some of them seemed exaggerated! That's why they wanted to replace him in the first place!
Oh, he wished he could just disappear!
