His latest mission had been a success as Shockwave was the only mech who was left alone at the battlefield. After his opponents had retreated, that is. Nonetheless, the scientist still acquired all of the resources he sought for his upcoming experiment.
As Shockwave prepared himself and activated his communication link, his optic caught sight of an object nearby. Right beneath him and so on was a field of unique and beautiful purple and blue crystal flowers glistening in the ambient light. The delicate blooms stood out against the rough environment. Their crystalline petals captured the soft play of sunlight.
Curious about the sudden discovery, Shockwave took his time to inspect the crystal flowers. Several flowers were purple, like his frame. Others were blue, reminding him of Soundwave.
Soundwave… Now that Shockwave thought about it, he decided to pick the purple and blue crystal flowers. He held them delicately in his servos, like a bouquet. Thinking that Soundwave would appreciate these as a gift.
“Soundwave, I have succeeded in my mission,” he announced in his communication with Soundwave. “I require a groundbridge.” Not even a minute later, the bright green portal flashed just in front of him. Shockwave deactivated his communication link and proceeded to walk through the bridge while still holding the crystal flower bouquet in his servo. Ensuring they remained unscathed.
After stepping out of the bridge in the Nemesis, the scientist noticed a figure of Soundwave standing nearby. As if he were waiting for him. Soundwave, however, also noticed Shockwave was holding something as he approached him.
“For you, Soundwave,” Shockwave stated as he handed him the purple and blue crystal bouquet. “I found these in a field after I completed my mission and I thought you might appreciate their beauty.”
Soundwave accepted the bouquet and examined them. Seeing how each crystal petals would reflect with the others. Even from Shockwave’s perspective, the crystal flowers would reflect on the other’s mech dark visor.
“Thank you, Shockwave,” Soundwave replied. “These are beautiful.”
Shockwave let out a contented hum. “I also think they’re very beautiful. Just like the mech who I gifted it to.”
Hearing that made Soundwave’s cheekplate blushed. He was glad Shockwave couldn’t see his expression.
“I… I do not know how to respond to that,” he almost faltered. “But, I do feel connected somehow by these flowers.”
“I, too, felt the same way when I discovered it. They uniquely resemble us, don’t they?” Shockwave implied.
Soundwave examined the bouquet again. Shockwave was entirely correct. The purple crystal flowers resembled Shockwave, while the blue ones resembled himself. It gave them a distinctive combination and strengthened their connection. Soundwave secretly smiled.
And then, Shockwave’s strong servo held Soundwave’s. “If you would like, I would be glad to bring you to the field and we could enjoy the scenery together. Do you agree, my love?”
Both mechs stared into each other deeply. But one of them knew the answer to that offer. Soundwave conveyed it in his own way. The lithe mech reached out and gently kissed the side of Shockwave’s helm, hinting him.
Of course, Shockwave took that as a yes.
