“Come here, Moony,” Sirius beckoned, hands outstretched.
Remus groaned. His head was between his knees because it was the only way his back didn’t hurt. Or at least hurt less. He counted to three in his head before getting up quickly.
When he reached the bed he basically collapsed onto it.
“Aww, darling,” Sirius cooed, his arms wrapping around Remus.
Remus groaned in response.
His back ached and really all he wanted to do was lay here for the rest of eternity. Unfortunately, they’d made plans with the others and had to leave in about ten minutes.
Five minutes later Remus started to shift to get up.
“What’re you doing?” Sirius asked.
“Getting up?” Remus replied, confused.
“I thought your back hurt?”
“It does,” Remus said. “But we made plans.”
Sirius looked at him confused. “I– Ooh. I forgot to tell you.” He pulled out his phone. “I told the group about your back and they’re coming over.”
“Really?” Remus asked.
“Yeah,” Sirius grinned. “James’ mom apparently insisted on cooking something up for you, so James is bringing enough to feed all of us and the girls said they’d swing by a shop to buy some chocolates and other sweets and Lily’s bringing her spare hot water bottle because she knows you’re too stubborn to ever buy one yourself.”
Remus’ eyes softened and he collapsed back into his previous place. “Thank you,” he whispered. “Thank the others for me too.”
Just then the doorbell rang and then the jingle of keys could be heard.
“I think you can do that yourself too,” Sirius chuckled.
“I brought food!” James sing-songed, barging in.
“And we’ve got chocolates!” Mary exclaimed coming up from behind him.
“And we’re here too!” Dorcas shouted pointing to her and Marlene.
Remus chuckled.
“And the others are coming in just a second,” Marlene said.
Their night went great and Remus went to bed with the warm feeling of knowing he had people all around him who loved him.
