Chapter Text
Percy didn't know why he was summoned to Olympus.
What he did know was that he was happy with his life. He didn't have to do any more quests, he wasn't wrapped up in another war, he had gotten Hestia and Hades thrones on the Olympian council, him and Annabeth had *Ahem* 'done it' the night before. He was planning to propose soon, and he had good friends.
'All was well', he thought as he entered the Olympian throne room.
He was wrong.
He could tell something was off the moment he stepped into the room. The 7, plus Nico, Will, Calypso, Thalia, and Reyna were gathered at the foot of Zeus's throne, while Dionysus and Apollo's thrones were empty and slightly gray. A crying woman, probably Ariadne, sat at the foot of Dionysus's throne.
Most gods looked confused, other than a few. Artemis looked shell shocked, and Zeus's face looked grim, but his eyes sparkled with excitment. Hestia looked sad, but nevertheless, she stood up and walked to Percy's side.
"Listen, Percy," She began before being interrupted by Zeus.
"Step away from him!" He boomed.
Hestia reluctantly went back to her throne and glared at Zeus the rest of the meeting.
"Come forward, Perseus," Zeus said.
Percy nervously stepped forward and into the middle of the room.
"Why have you called me to Olympus?" He asked.
Zeus glared at him. "We are putting you on trial for the murder of two of my sons. Should you be voted guilty, I shall kill you."
The entire room gasped, and Percy's jaw dropped open.
"What?" He asked, dumbfounded. "I didn't kill anyone."
"LIES!" Zeus cried out enraged, lifting himself from his throne. "YOU HAVE KILLED BOTH APOLLO AND DIONYSUS!"
The entire throne room looked at Zeus and then at the two empty thrones in shock.
"W-what? Why would I do that? How would I do that?" Percy asked frantically. Life had finally been going well for him. Even he didn't think the Fates could possibly be this mean, could they?
The Fates laughed in a small red cabin at his thoughts, albeit sadly, and continued their weaving.
Zeus narrowed his eyes. "I do not know your reason, traitor, but I do not need it. Now, we will -"
"Where's your proof?" Percy quickly cried out, worried.
Zeus snapped his fingers, causing two bodies to appear on the ground in front of Percy. They fell to the ground, life gone from their eyes. Ariadne shrieked upon seeing her husband and Artemis stared at her brother in shock.
Apollo had Riptide through his gut, while Dionysus had blood running from his mouth.
Percy's hand went to his pocket to find Riptide, but it wasn't there. It really was embedded into Apollo.
Everyone stared at Percy in shock.
"Now, if that is settled, we shall begin our vote. My vote will count as three, one extra for both Apollo and Dionysus."
Percy simply stared at the bodies in shock.
"Now," Zeus began. "Those who think Perseus is guilty of the murder of Apollo and the poisoning of Dionysus raise your hands." Zeus declared, putting an old, one time use magic spell into his words.
Almost everyone raised their hands. The only ones who didn't were Poseidon, Hestia, and Hades.
Percy just stared in shock. He didn't kill anyone, and his friends knew he wouldn't. And now, they just... betray him? Leave everything they had behind?
His eyes fell on Annabeth, her hand raised. He could tell she was struggling with something, but it didn't process.
All he saw was the love of his life, his 'soulmate' standing there, sentencing him to death.
Zeus smirked. "That seems definite, doesn't it?"
He raised his master bolt, but Athena and Hera stopped him and whispered something in his ear.
He smiled brilliantly and then said, "I have decided upon an alternate punishment. Tartarus."
Percy stopped functioning. 'Not there', he thought. 'Please, anywhere but there', he pleaded in his mind.
But no sound came out of his mouth.
"Well," Zeus said, breaking the silence. "Any last things to say, people?"
Hestia came forward. "Percy, I'm so-"
"Stop." He said. "Look, I... I just... I think Annabeth is, um..."
Hestia nodded sadly. "She is. With twins."
Percy felt his heart shatter. He wouldn't ever be able to be a father.
"Just... protect them, please?" He asked quietly.
"I will," Hestia promised.
She kissed him on the forehead and walked back to her throne.
Poseidon stood up, but Zeus boomed out, "ENOUGH! I MEANT THE QUESTION RHETORICALLY, NO MORE GOODBYES!"
He pointed at the ground in front of Percy, creating a red crack, big enough for Percy to fall through.
"Any last words, traitor?" Zeus asked.
It REALLY hit Percy then.
He was returning to Tartarus. His friends had all voted for his death. The gods, who he had thought were getting better, were forcing him into the worst possible place in existence. He would never be a father. The woman he loved voted for his death.
HE WOULD NEVER BE A FATHER.
Something about that jolted Percy. He stepped forward, thinking about how the meeting had gone. He didn't think his friends would betray him, so he didn't believe it. He wouldn't let himself believe it.
He refused that possibility, coming to the conclusion that something forced their hand.
He stepped forwards into the crack, and spoke his simple last words.
"I love you."
Directed to no one, yet everyone, this single line broke everyone out of their trance. Many rushed forward, but it was too late. Percy had fallen.
The screaming and sobbing began, all while Zeus leaned back on his throne, content in his assured reign.
----------------------------------------------------------
As Percy fell, he contemplated what led his life to this point. At least... at least he managed to tell everyone he loved them before he went.
He didn't really believe the fates could be this cruel, but he didn't want to test them.
----------------------------------------------------------
Now in a cave, the Fates laugh to themselves, knowing what is to come. Their favorite phrase, 'it gets worse before it gets better,' was set in action.
One of the Fates reached into her cloak and pulled out a beautiful purple box, decorated with objects of space.
She pulled a blood red glowing string before weaving it into the portrait.
She reached into the box, pulled out more glowing, colored strings, and then made eye contact with her sisters.
This was going to be fun.
They wove the strings into the portrait. A gold shiny string that seemed to tick, a string colored like the sky that flashed with lightning, and many more.
----------------------------------------------------------
Percy felt the change before he saw it. The air grew parched and dry, but something was... different this time.
He looked around, and then the hole opened into the vast cavern. He frantically searched the ground, looking for a river, and found one.
He landed into the Acheron and was immediately bombarded.
MURDERER! A voice yelled.
TRAITOR! Another screamed.
BROKEN MAN! One barreled out.
Give up and join us, the three said in unison.
He tried to surface but was pulled down.
More voices arrived, and they mocked him, berrated him, and cut into him.
He was about to give up when a big hand reached into the water and pulled him out
He stumbled and fell forward, into the chest of a man, who then wrapped his arms around him, and then just... let go.
He sobbed, cried, and broke down into this man's chest, not even knowing who it was. He explained what happened, what he thought happened, and anything else.
The man just felt so... safe. Like Percy would be protected from anything and everything. He didn't know why, but he felt like he could trust this man with his life.
Finally, Percy stopped crying and managed to look up into the face of the man he just broke down to.
The feeling of safety immediately washed away as he stared into the vortex face of Tartarus. He was easily a head taller than Percy, looking down at him.
Peecu stood frozen and flinched when Tartarus brought his hand up, only to be confused when Tartarus brushed his hair behind his ear.
"A lot has happened since we last met. And, a lot has changed."
Percy's knees turned to Jell-O as he processed the situation, as well as the smell of copper, chocolate, and blood radiating from Tartarus.
He passed out.
----------------------------------------------------------
Tartarus looked down at a passed out Percy in his arms, and then stopped him into a bridal carry and started walking.
There was much to be done, much to be explained, and much, much kissing to do. He hoped.
----------------------------------------------------------
Percy woke up in a bed. He shot up at the sound of a door opening and then looked in confusion as two glowing people he'd never seen before started talking in front of him.
One turned and noticed him. She jumped and then started fussing over him, while the other, a man, started chuckling at her antics.
"W-whats going on?" Percy asked, his mouth painfully dry.
The man conjured a cup out of thin air and then gave it to Percy. He drank and then asked the question again.
The woman sighed.
"All will be explained soon, Firebug." She said.
Percy wasn't able to ask why she called him that before she left with the man.
He fell asleep and dreamed of camp.
It seemed somber, and he knew why. He wished he could interact, but he knew he couldn't.
He saw Chiron hanging Riptide onto the Big House wall and realized with a jolt that it never returned to his pocket.
He woke up and stared into the pitch black face of a man. He cracked a grin and swiftly placed a kiss on Percy's lips.
Percy stared at him at shock and then passed out again.
He saw many... people? In a living room, discussing.
"So how will we make this work with the non-immortal girl?" The pitch black faced man asked.
A woman next to him, someone Percy recognized as Nyx, shook her head.
"It's simple. We let him make her an immortal as well."
"And if she refuses?" Tartarus asks.
A different man speaks up this time, but Percy barely registers his words.
He saw Thanatos once, and he couldn't hold a candle to this man. The man was the most handsome and gorgeous thing Percy had ever seen.
"Then we mourn for her when she passes," he says simply.
Everyone in the room nods, and then someone else speaks up.
"What if we dont want him?" A woman spits out.
Percy turns to look at her and freezes. It's Gaea.
Nyx glares at her. "Get out."
Gaes freezes. "What?"
"Get out!" Nyx spits. "I have offered you shelter for too long! We made a plan, you tried to join, and you have complained the entire time! You are not essential, and he hates you!"
Gaea gets mad. "Do you know who you're threatening? I will make sure my husband and I destroy him!"
A man enters the room, and Percy sucks in a breath. The man's skin is a clear blue, with clouds, rain, and birds flying inside of it.
He shakes his head. "No, Gaea, I will not help you do that. I have prolonged your stay here long enough because I thought you could change. You could not."
He sits on a couch and snaps, causing Gaea to go flying. She slams through a wall and continues to fly through the landscape of Tartarus before disappearing from sight.
The breaking of the wall, however, allowed Percy to locate where he was.
He was in the mansion of night, and it was hovering over the heart of Tartarus.
----------------------------------------------------------
Tartarus walked into the room Percy was resting in, expecting to see him sleeping again.
"Why is Nyx's mansion hovering over your heart?" Percy asks, his arms crossed and sitting up.
Tartarus looked at Percy and resisted the urge to jump him. [Get those thoughts out of your head.]
"Are you finished passing out? He asked.
Percy nodded.
"Good," Tartarus said. "That means we can start explaining. Can you get up from the bed?"
Percy nodded and shakily got off the bed, following Tartarus as he walked out.
Eventually, they reached the living room that was in Percy's dream.
Tartarus sat next to the breathtaking man and motioned for Percy to sit.
Percy sat on an empty couch and looked at the many people in the room.
Tartarus, the blue skinned man, the dark man who kissed him, Nyx, the breathtaking man, the man who conjured him some water, and the fussy girl were all staring at him.
"So... why am I here?" Percy asked.
The breathtaking man takes a deep breath and speaks up.
"We've been watching you for a while, Percy. But not in a weird way (most of the time). We uh, we know what happened with Zeus."
Percy slumped in the couch.
"Who are you people?" He asked.
"Well, you know some of us." The man who kissed Percy said.
Percy nodded. "Nyx and Tartarus. Other than that, no clue."
The blue skinned man speaks up. "I'm Ouranus, Primordial of the Sky."
"I'm Eros," the breathtaking man says.
"I'm Erebus," the man who kissed Percy says.
"We are Aether and Hemera," the man that gave Percy water and the fussy girl said.
Percy nodded. "So why am I-"
Percy was cut off by a man slamming a door open, a frantic look on his face.
"Am I late?!" He cried out.
Nyx sighs.
"Yes, Chronos with a CH, you're late."
He nods and sits down next to Nyx.
"Anyways... as I was saying, why are you all here?" Percy asked.
The primordials all look at him.
Tartarus was the one to speak. "We, uh, are trying something that we think will help -"
Chronos interrupts him. "We've had this plan for a while and-"
Erebus interrupts him as well. "We thought we would-"
"For fucks sake!" Eros cried throwing his hands up and then turning back to Percy.
"Everyone in this room wants to date and fuck you. Basically, we want a big Poly relationship, with you in the middle."
Percy stared at them all.
"That's... wow. Like, really? Seriously?"
Chronos nods.
"Yeah. We've watched you for a while, Percy. We want to help you and be with you and love you."
Aether nods. "Percy, we want you to understand. This decision is not a forced yes. If you say no, then we'll respect it, and we'll return you to Gaea's domain."
Percy deliberates and thinks.
"However," Hemera adds. "We would like you to know that you would be the centerpiece. The most important and the rulesetter, our immortal consort."
Percy slowly nods. "I'll give it a try. IF I'm able to add more people to the relationship. And if I don't like it, I break it off. Got it?"
The primordials all nodded and then stood up and cheered.
That night was filled with alcohol, games, and *Ahem Ahem* lemon. [Screw you, don't think those thoughts.]
Percy liked it, and he waited for the day he could return to Annabeth and have her be loved the same way he was.
