“What if they find out,” Narcissa whispered.
Bella laughed. “You worry too much.”
“Yes, what’s the worst that can happen?” Andromeda answered.
“They cast the Cruciatus on us,” Narcissa said.
Bella shrugged it off. “And how would that be different from any other day? Our parents are extremely predictable on that front.”
“Bella is right. We’ll eventually do something to upset them. Let’s do something we’ll truly enjoy.” Andromeda put her mask on and winked at them
The three made their way into Avery Manor, wearing wonderful ball gowns and masks that covered their faces. Hopefully, their parents would never know that Bella and Andromeda had sneaked Cissa out of Hogwarts.
Floating candles directed the guests to the great hall, where a quartet played. Cissa recognized Lucius’ silver hair. “I’ll see you in a bit, okay?”
Bella and Andromeda exchanged a look. They knew that they would lose her for most of the night, just like they had predicted. What Andromeda hadn’t predicted was that a dark hair man soon had Bella’s attention. She heard someone call him Rodolphus. Lestrange, she mentally finished.
As she looked on, she hoped that one day, her sisters could watch her dance with Ted.
