Work Text:
Cho runs her hands over her green dress, while she looks at her reflection. She’s not sure about this. She’s not ashamed of their relationship, but they have kept it a secret, because- well, she’s not sure why. At the beginning, they wanted to see if they’d last and then it became habit, but now-. Still, she smiles at the idea of being out in public with her girlfriend.
Pansy arrives at eight. She looks amazing in her expensive blue robes. Cho likes to think that it’s a throwback to Ravenclaw, considering her own reasons for wearing green.
“We seem to think alike,” Pansy says.
“I guess we do.” Cho looks toward the floo. “Are you sure?” Their destination is the Ministry Halloween ball; everyone who’s anyone will be there. “Once we go, there’s no more hiding.”
“I don’t want to hide you or us,” Pansy says resolute. She takes Cho’s hand and squeezes it gently. “But if you don’t want to go, we can stay home.”
“No, I want to, but I’m scared- I guess I don’t know how you can be so certain that it’s the right thing to do.”
Pansy kissed her softly. “Because I love you.”
