Raine stood in front of the full-length mirror, carefully examining the flowing layers of their emerald green skirt and the intricate beading on their cream-coloured blouse.
It had been a chaotic day for them, as they had spent most of it preparing food for the family dinner that was to take place at Gwen and Dell's house. Finally, they had managed to get some time to themselves before leaving.
They carefully removed all the baubles from their skirt and ironed it just half an hour before they got ready so that King wouldn't sleep on it and crease them.
They tied the laces on their black chunky boots, tucked in their shirt, and checked themselves in the mirror one last time before heading to the bathroom to call for Eda.
Their boots clicked against the wooden floors of the Owl house as they made their way to the bathroom door.
“Eda?... Are you there?” Raine asked, their voice filled with anticipation.
“Yeah! Just gimme a sec,” Eda replied breathlessly, her voice carrying through the door.
Raine, knowing they were running late, replied, “Alright!” and breathed a sigh of relief that Eda was at least on the other side of the door.
As Raine was about to leave, they heard Eda murmuring some curses from inside the bathroom.
“Uhm Eda, are you okay?” Raine asked, concerned.
“Ugh, yeah, it's just this stupid zipper on the back of my dress,” Eda replied, clearly frustrated.
“Would you mind if I helped?” Raine offered, stepping into the bathroom.
As they entered, Raine was struck by the sight of makeup scattered about, three wet towels on the floor, and the foxy witch standing in front of the mirror, looking at herself with a critical eye.
“Hi,” Raine said, trying to keep things light and easy.
“Hey, Rainestorm, can you see the zipper?” Eda asked, her voice slightly muffled as she craned her neck to get a better view of the zip.
“Yup! And.. done!” Raine replied, feeling relieved that they could help.
“Oh thank you so much!” Eda gratefully said, her voice filled with relief.
As Eda turned around to grab her leather jacket from the edge of the bathtub, Raine was struck by how radiant she looked. Her hair had grown longer since the death of Belos, now flowing down to her shoulders in curly waves.
She wore a thigh dress that hugged her curves perfectly, a cropped unzipped black leather jacket that added a touch of edge, ripped tights that added some texture, and black boots that tied the whole look together.
“Like what you see?” Eda smirked, her eyes glinting with mischief.
Raine felt their face heat up as they realized they had been staring too long. “Maybeee,” Raine sing-songed, trying to play it off cool.
“Hah! Ok let's go or I’ll get lectured by my mom for being late” Eda joked, her voice light and carefree.
“Yeah, and I bet Luz and King aren't too happy with how long we are taking. They both have been looking forward to this,” Raine said, their voice filled with excitement.
They both walked out of the bathroom hand in hand making their way to the living room.
“Oh my titan there you guys are, come on we are running late!!” Luz exclaimed Holding both their hands and dragging them outside eagerly.
They felt a light breeze on this chilly autumn evening so they grabbed their cloak from the door swiftly before heading back out.
They summoned Fiddle sticks (Though she wasn't very thrilled about being woken up) gave her forehead a kiss and sat on her staff form admiring all the beautiful carvings while getting ready to take flight.
Luz scooped up King in her arms and King climbed up on her shoulder as she sat on String bean Raine looked over to Eda and saw her in her harpy form holding the green beans, chicken nuggets (for King) and the mash they had cooked just today they could feel their face heat up at the sight of her.
They could hear Luz giggling but they didn't care they were just happy to be with their family.
Raine held tight onto their staff as they soared through the air, feeling the cool autumn breeze hit their skin. They looked down at the colourful trees passing below them, feeling a sense of liberation and freedom. And then they looked over at Eda, who was flying alongside them, her hair whipping around in the wind chatting with Luz. Raine couldn't help but feel grateful for this moment, with the people they loved by their side.
As they flew, Raine started humming a song they'd been working on. It was moments like these that made everything worth it, and Raine knew they would cherish this memory for a long time to come.
For the remaining 10 minutes of the flight, they joined in on the chatting and banter as they were getting frustrated as they couldn't get one part of the tune right.

They arrived at Eda’s parent's house just in time. They have always loved their house it's a small cottage on the edge of Bonesborough miles upon miles of forests behind it; the place always felt like a second home to Raine. As soon as they stepped in they could smell the delicious aroma of food they didn't realize they were so hungry.They must've forgotten to eat today.
They took their Cloak off, hung it on the coat hanger and placed their boots neatly beside the door. Suddenly, they realized they were being hugged by someone.
“Raine darling it's been too long how have you been!”Questioned Gwendolyn Enthusiastically.
“Oh uhm I’ve been great thanks!” They said rubbing the back of their neck.
“Well, that's wonderful!! It's been years since I last saw you!!”
“Haha.” They replied awkwardly
Gwen carried on asking them questions until Eda interjected.
“Mom stop hounding them,Titan its only been 2 months”
“Oh sorry witchlet I got a bit carried away!”
They weren't shocked that Gwen asked them a bunch of questions shes always been like that but they never got mad at her for it as it's just her personality.
They finally got a chance to take in the cottage. There were family pictures and baby Eda and Lilith along all the walls.Even themself were even a few,they were shocked they hadnt been taken after all this time.Especially after the break up.
Suddenly they heard Luz squealing over something so they went to check it out.
It was about these Three photos on the wall the first one was of Luz, King, Eda, and Lilith all standing in front of a large oak tree Eda was sticking her tongue out Luz was making a peace sign and an arm wrapped wrapped around Eda.Lilith was smiling with her hands neatly behind her back beside her sister. She looked happier than they had seen her in years they were Happy for her and King well.. King was just this blur of movement. The next was a photo of Eda, King, Luz, Raine, Lilith, Gwen, Dell, and Hooty outside The Owl House all sticking their tongues out at the camera they chuckled at the fond memory of taking the photo. The final one was of Raine and Eda in their twenties Eda had her arm around Raine's waist kissing their cheek and Raine was smiling happily looking at the camera with rosy cheeks.
“Raine is that you when you were younger?”Luz asked excitedly
“Yeah that is.I don't know how they got the photo though”
“We found it in a scrapbook of Liliths” Dell replied calmly.
“Ah!”’ Raine jumped.
“Sorry! Didn't mean to scare you” Dell apologized bringing them into a hug.
“Is Fiddlesticks doing alright she had quite the nasty break.”
“Oh uhm yeah she doing great you could see her if you like”
“I would be delighted”
Raine whistled for fiddle sticks almost instantly they could hear her little paws tap against the oak flooring of the cottage.
“Hi, darling do you remember Dell,Edas Father?” They said as she was snuggled in their arms.

“Haha Yeah!” They chuckled as she started rubbing her soft furry face on them. She jumped out of their arms and started running around them and Dell in a blur of excitement.
Suddenly Dell burst out into laughter at the sight of the energetic fox.Soon she ran off to the kitchen ready to hound Gwen for food.
Them and Dell had started chatting about what theyve both been up to lately and at somepoint Fiddlesticks ended up climbing onto their shoulder.
Suddenly Gwen exclaimed “EVERYONE DINNERS READY!!!”
Them and Dell hurried off into the dining room together with Fiddlesticks along their side. Everyone sat down at their chosen spots but one chair was empty.
Confused they asked, “Hey where's Lilith?”
“Oh she's at some dumb museum thing” replied Eda annoyed.
They nodded.
Everyone carried on chatting about their plans and how their weeks had been but Raine preferred to stay quiet always. They liked to savour these domestic moments as they didn't know if they would ever have a family or children let alone the Eda Clawthornes Partner.
Everyone had eaten and was now chatting in the living room together it was peaceful They had a lamp in the corner emitting a glow onto everyone.
“Hey Rainstorm”
“Hm”
“Are you okay you have been quiet this evening are you having fun I mean we can always leave if you are not enjoying it” She said starting to ramble on.
“It's fine don't worry I just like savouring these moments” They replied calmly.
“Oh alright good I love you”
“I love you too” They pulled her in close and kissed her she tasted like apple blood it was electrifying. Eda pulled away and tilted her head to the others realising they were there their face heated a maroon colour but they just caught Luz eyes wide ecstatic, Gwen smiling sweetly at them and King making exaggerated gagging noises.

They had a great time at Gwen and Dells, they mostly reminisced and planned the future days out. Once they got home they face-planted the nest,they had always gotten worn out by socialising.
“Rainnnstorm” Eda sing-songed
Raine was already half asleep.“Whamm umm”
“Ok all I got was Wa and um”
They lifted their head to face her with their glasses askew and hair a mess in a horse voice they repeated themself“Whats up,I meant”
“Do you wanna watch a movie with the rest of us once we are changed?” She asked.
“Sure, what are we watching?” They replied more awake now.
“I don't know maybee…..Die Bard the whole trilogy!”She asked excitedly
“Will we have enough time?” They questioned.
“Yup, Luz said all add up to four and half hours which by then will only be eleven thirty!”
They immediately piped up that. “Alright, I'm in!” They replied thrilled.
Eda chuckled at the sight as they had been half asleep 5 seconds ago.
“Alright! Want one of my tees?” She asked knowingly.
“You know it.” They replied.

As they started walking down the stairs they could hear the giggles of King and Luz.
They walk into the living to see blankets and plushies everywhere. King and Luz were by the fireplace starting a revolution with the plushies.
“How dare you betray me General Hittington!” King yelled in an assertive tone.
“I had to for my wife and children! If I didn't I would've died!” Luz returned exaggerated.
“How pathetic I don-”
“Hi, Raine!” Luz bursted out cutting off King.
“Hi guys what you up to?” The asked wanting to get closer with King.
“We are at war against the sungle muffins -Luz’s team- and I leader of the Kapow wows will murder them and chop off each of their arms!!!!!!”
“Wow!” Raine said.
Suddenly Eda bursted in saying “WHO'S READY FOR DIE BARD THE TRILOGY MARATHON”
Everyone screamed back at her including Hooty who wiggled himself which freaked them out.
They all got up and walked to the sofa King and Luz sat on the floor atop some pillows and blankets while Eda and they were on the sofa Eda's arm around them and their head leaning against her shoulder. Once the movie started playing everyone was silent they could feel their eyes drooping but they didn't mind they just let it happen they were content and their family was too so everything was amazing. As soon as they knew it they fell asleep.
