Chapter 1
Frank Hardy woke up in a cold Dark room, he was lying on the floor, sitting up he took in his surroundings. There were a bunch of other teenagers! All ranging in age from an African American girl around 13 to a tall Guy with brown hair around Frank’s age; There was also this big guy with fur shawl; it looked like a wolf was draped over him. “Alright kids!” the big guy started “Welcome to the game!” “The game?” Frank asked.
“Hold your horses Hardy, I’ll explain in due time.” The big guy responds. Frank didn’t like how this was sounding, “How did he know my name?” Frank thought. “Once you enter the room you will be tasked to find the 5 gems” The Big Guy started, “There is a throne placed in the room, you need to dig around in the throne to find the pearls.” “Wait what do you mean by dig in the throne?” Frank interrupted. “You will have to wait and see” The Big Guy responded with a mischievous smile. “But, While you are digging for the pearls you will have to avoid my buddies, If you get caught, you are out of the game, Easy right?” the Big Guy finished. “Now, Good luck kids!” He says as He opens the rock wall letting them into a room about 10ft by 7ft in the center is a different thrown with a lady in her late 40s, lots of big guards in monster attire.
“Alright, I can find the gems, do you think you guys can distract?” Frank asked the group. They all nodded in agreement. Now the problem is that the thrown with the gems is right by the one that the lady is on! Frank creeps over to the thrown to get the gems but the lady sees him and orders the guards to get him!
Joe comes to Frank's aid and gets caught and tied to a pole. Frank in the meantime ducked behind a chair. “Joe! I didn’t know where you were! I was worried.” Frank whispered. “I’m alright Frank, Glad to see you too!” Joe responds with a smile.
They watch as others end up getting caught. A guard walks over close to where Frank is hiding but just before He sees Frank, the young African American Girl runs over and leads him away. Frank watches as she runs away from the guard and hides. A loud bell rings out and the Big Guy yells “Alright none of you got the gems, so on to round two! “They start collecting the teens that they caught and moving them to another location for the next round. Frank runs over and cuts through Joe's bounds.” What are you doing?” Joe asked “They didn’t catch you, get out of here!” "Not leaving you" is all Frank says.
They get escorted to a small room and separated from the bigger group. It's just the Hardys and Chelsea going through this entrance. Chelsea looks to be 17 years old and has dark brown hair. The Hardys and Chelsea exchange greetings and get ready for their next adventure. The Big Guy grins and says “Alright! Now that you guys have met, get going! Game is the same as the last. Good luck!
Once the enter they see why it's going to be more difficult. The room is huge! You can’t even see the other side! It’s covered in Sand and there are two levels! Frank runs a hand through his hair in frustration "the thrown could be anywhere!" Chelsea points off to the left, up on a rock ledge there it was! The thrown! But it was guarded by 3 tigers! “Great.” Frank says sarcastically.
Frank heads over to some make shift steps. Below the steps there is a pit of sand “That would be hard to climb out of” Frank thought. The tigers are watching him and growling as soon as he reaches the bottom of the steps. “Hmm, how am I going to do this?” Frank asks himself. Frank walks toward the tigers watching them get riled up the closer he gets. He keeps a slow pace till he can tell the tigers can’t wait to get him, then makes a quick movement towards the edge of the steps! That Quick movement caused two of the tigers to jump off into the sand pit! “Yes!’ Frank shouted “One more.” Frank turned his attention back to the last tiger, which was just about to pounce! Frank yelped and ducked just as the tiger pounced, The tiger flew right over Frank’s head! Frank could hear Joe shout in surprise! The final tiger landed in the sand pit and Frank was quite happy he couldn’t speak tiger because he was sure the tigers were swearing at him now. Frank was just about at the top of the steps when he took a wrong step and it crumbled away under him sending him falling down into the pit where the tigers were waiting for him!
Frank landed in the pit first on his feet but then stumbled and fell on his butt “oof!’ Frank grunted. “Frank! Watch out!” Joe yelled from above. Frank got up quickly and turned to see the three tigers stocking towards him.
“Think you guys can find something to get me out of this pit?” Frank yelled up at Joe and Chelsea. “Sure! Just give us a second!” Chelsea yells back. “Just hold on Frank!” Joe yells. Joe and Chelsea began looking around for anything that could help get Frank out of the pit, “What about this?” Joe asked holding up some vines. “We can give it a try; your brother can only dodge tigers for so long.” Chelsea responded taking the vines from Joe.
Joe and Chelsea threw one end down into the pit and braced themselves so Frank could climb up. Frank ran towards it and with some help from Chelsea and Joe, Frank climbs up to the ledge, they all just sit there for a minute catching their breaths. “Thanks” Frank says as he stands up, “Well, now there are no tigers in my way.”
Frank heads back towards the steps and slowly made his way up to the throne watching where he is stepping. Frank takes out the first gem and an alarm sounds! Frank quickly takes the rest and has to put them into the spots on the thrown to get the last gem; the master gem is their ticket out of here!
Frank quickly places the gems where they belong as guards start to run towards their side of the room! “Frank! Hurry up man!” Joe yells looking on edge. Chelsea runs off the help the others get out and Frank and Joe run back the way they came to attract the guard’s attention away from the others.
They make it back to that other room where they are confronted by the big guards and the lady in charge! Frank fakes handing off the master gem to Joe and they split up, the guards start running after Joe, But Joe's quick and Frank knew he could out run them.
Frank went over to check out the door to see what he had to deal with it. Frank noticed that there is a place for the master gem to be placed. "Joe! There’s a place to put the gem in the door! Pass it!" Frank yells. Joe caught on right away, "I can't throw it Frank. They might catch it!" Joe yelled back! "Then run over here and put it in!" Frank replied. Joe started running Frank's way, the lady starts laughing "once he gets to you, you won’t have time to put the master gem in before my guards catch you!" Frank waited till Joe got close then looked right at the lady and smiled and put the master gem in! Joe slipped through and Frank followed taking the gem out on the way causing the door to close behind them!
What greeted them was a dark cave, so they started walking. Frank with the master gem in his pocket; Joe was chuckling to himself "did you see her face when you put the gem in?" Joe asked laughing. Frank smiled in response still worried about what was to come.
As they walked they heard a metallic noise above their heads! A cage fell over them! The lady emerged from the dark. "Ok boys, hand it over." she said with a sly smile. Frank doesn't make any movement just looks at her in determination. "Fine, be that way." She says as another metallic noise sounds and a wall falls between the brothers. "I didn't want to have to do this, but you left me no choice." The cage breaks apart to make two cages. One for Frank and another for Joe; Next thing they know, they are plugged into darkest.
When Joe wakes up he is tied and suspended over a pit of lava! "Frank!" Joe yelled, "where are you?!"
